Has anyone else on E970 (or others?) noticed a significant lag on pattern-unlocking the screen? It's very visible on mine as the 'In The Nexus' live wallpaper literally freezes up for a few seconds.

Yep. Most common occurrence is the screen lights, but stay blank. I can get it to come on by pushing the power button short, and then I see the off animation, or get around by holding the power button down, to get the shutdown menu, and then cancelling.
Hasn't happened for a while though. I think there are some correlations with this behavior and any flash occurrence running before locking your phone.

I updated to The Base earlier today and BANG! The lock-lag disappeared with the AT&T bloatware. And my Wifi tethering works perfectly!
Coincidence? I think not. :silly:
Base + pimp scripts + nova launcher = what is lag?
I see the lag in pattern unlocking specially when the phone is connected to charger. I have always had this problem with my retired Atrix 4G too.
Any fix for this?

Same here. Not just the lock screen but overall scrolling lags when connected to the charger. I thought the phone was messed up and was ready to return it. But once unplugged it runs smooth.

Has anyone had a problem with this? Since I got my 3vo two days ago I've had it freeze twice and i had to do a battery pull each time, I also just had my phone not be able to wake up, tried holding the power button down because I thought maybe it shut down randomly but nothing would happen. I ended up doing a battery pull, is anybody else having trouble?
Also, Apps like launcher pro and music beta seem to be lagging...

Mine did that last night. Had to do a battery pull. Any thing significant about the capcitive buttons coming on and off only when hitting the power button?

I had this exact issue and I had to do a 30 day exchange, sprint tech support said it was hardware issues.
Brandon
Mine did that, the capacitive buttons came on and off but the screen didn't, sometimes they wouldn't i made an exchange, i have a strong feeling it's hardware related, so I would recommend you exchange.
Mine has had this problem since day one but ever since I started traveling internationally and running it in airplane mode with the WiFi left on, I can't get it to crash!!! Now the only thing that's bothering me is the camera freezing after taking a shot. I don't know why the phone has decided to play nice, the only big change besides the airplane mode business is that I uninstalled Text Battery Widget.

Since I got my note 2, my screen turns on relatively slow at times almost 75% of the time. My s3 almost always beats my note 2 when turning them both on. Is this how it is for any of you guys?

Lol you're saying the screen wake is slow because of the delay? If so, it's just delayed compared to the S3 and has no effect on performance. No, your phone is not defective.

I know it doesn't affect performance, but it does get kind of annoying when it happens most of the time.

This is a common occurrence and has been discussed many times in many posts. You're phone is not defective. This is just a quirk of this particular phone.

I normally start/wake my phone with the power button as i do not use a lock screen. This is the fastest way to wake your phone. Pressing the home button with a lock screen does take a little longer for me. It also takes me to the home screen when i have no lock screen instead of the app that was open, which is more annoying!

I do the exact same thing, I see no reason whatever to run a lock screen as these phones never pocket dial anymore.
If took me a while to realize that the power button returned to the app that was open before it went to sleep and the home button went to the home screen however.
I see what your saying about the delay. Maybe it's something they can fix in the kernel

Never thought of removing the lockscreen. Makes perfect sense with this phone. Of course, that's one less screen to enjoy designing for!
boo boo be boo
My LGOG E970 is overheating when I put it on my pocket and the battery is discharging very fast. Using the headphones I noticed that it was getting unlocked because it was dialing.
I configured pattern lock and the power button now instantly locks also quad core eco mode is on. However the phone still overheats. I installed Freegee, mention it in case it is relevant.
I suspect that the power button is constantly pressed when in the pocket and the screen keeps turning on. This brings me to my question: Is there a way to use two button unlock on this device? Like pressing power and then volume up to turn the screen on.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Make sure to run a program such as Better Battery Stats to see if a rogue app is actually causing the overheating and battery drain, I'm willing to bet that is the case.

Yes, you are right. There was an app draining the battery.
The same night I posted this I played around and removed some widgets and change them with others, the next day the problem was over. I suspect it was the Yahoo weather widget that came as factory default, but I can't confirm.
Now I'm using SnowJB with MysteryEmotionz kernel and it gets ice cold However I'm having issues with the external SD and WiFi but that's another story.
Thanks a lot!

Go to phone > *#*#7378423#*#* > Service test > Display
If the screen is not all white then you have LCD problem.
If all white that's mean your LCD is good, maybe try flash another ROM or factory reset.

Sounds like you're having the same problem as me. You only have a single line though, while 2/3 of my display is like this. Mine gets like this whenever it's a little under room temperature, and it's a hardware defect according to Sony.
Post some pictures though. It could be software related (if you're lucky).

My XZU has this 1x1 cms 'purple cloud' at top mid center of screen all the time. I see it at the phone boot animation also. Its not captured on screen. So I guess its an LCD burn mark
Its visible only at medium and high brightness on a black background. Not on white background.

Just checked out your video, and i'm having this issue too. That's called "ghosting", and that means that the response time of the screen has gone to hell. The issue gets triggered on mine when the temperature drops a little.
Try this:
- Is it functioning normally in room temperature? If yes, put the phone in your refrigerator for 2-3 minutes and see if it's still functioning properly. If not, well.. then you're having the same issue as me, and i've talked to Sony, and it's a hardware defect and you'll have to use your warrenty and get a new screen. I sent mine in for repairs today, so i'm crossing my fingers.
IF you decide to send it in for repairs, remember to call them and ask them to do whatever triggers the issue, or else they'll simply re-flash the firmware and call it a day. That's what happened to me the first time, and you don't want that to happen

Alright, so it's the same issues as i have, and it's a production error according to Sony, so you'll have to send it in for repair. This is strangly enough only the second case where this happens, that i've read or heard about (including my own Ultra), so it doesn't seem to be that big of an issue. It could simply be an issue on a batch of Ultras that we got. It's a really strange defect though.
Alright, so I got my Ultra back yesterday with a new screen, and the problem is solved. I tested it by leaving it in my refrigerator for about 5 minutes, and there were no signs of slowdowns or other defects, so that's the way to go

Has anyone noticed a lack of response from the touchscreen at times? I initially thought it might be my tempered glass screen protector that was causing the problem. However, I've noticed that when it becomes unresponsive, if I press the lock (power) button and lock then unlock the screen, it begins responding normally again. This issue seems to come and go.

I was getting the same issue when I first got the phone. Seems to be better now after a couple weeks of use. It was real bad with the otterbox defender and the crappy plastic screen cover. It still happened once I put my icarez .2mm tempered glass on, but it was better. Now I hardly notice it.

You mean like playing candy crush and not being able to swipe the colors you want... Had the same issue on 2 different g3s..yup there is definitely a issue imo
For me, it starts with the back button on the nav bar not responding. Then random places on the screen won't respond either. Also, I will have problems with the LG keyboard as well. But, like I said, locking and unlocking will fix it temporarily.
Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
Yeah the back button and space bar are usually the most noticeable and occasionally along the sides. That was the worst when I had the defender on it, but that's always an issue with the defenders.

I have the same issue. It happens With my keyboard a lot. Like a 2 inch offset on where I touch to what button gets got sometimes. And it's fine if I rotate screen, but goes back exactly the same when I put screen back to landscape. It Does seem to happen more often when the back button stops responding too.

I've gone with nova also. Much smoother..
Odd. I have been using Nova the whole time and had the issues
After a full day of usage, I can definitely say, I'm not experiencing screen issues since switching back to Nova.
I only use nova... Lol..I have had issues
I've been using Smart Launcher Pro since I got the phone and haven't had any of these issues. I also have a glass screen protector since day one and no screen response issues... Only hardware issue i've had is a faint crackling in the earpiece during some calls.
Well so much for that...Started happening again today.
What ive done is go on www.thinklg.com log in and report the issue to lg.

i have responsiveness issue but i cant tell if its the app or the phone its never on the homescreen. the only issue that really drives me crazy is when its dark and im trying to unlock my phone it unlocks and then turns off over and over!

I have the same exact issues with navbar keys on both of my G3's. I changed to Kii keyboard and the same issues on either keyboard. Plus quite often "like now" when I type the words are missing until I scroll the screen. Stock, Nova, Next launchers all do it. No case and Zagg tempered glass. Flip case on the other.
I hope it's not hardware related and we get some software fixes soon. Very frustrating.
I'm experiencing this now on my new LG G3. Have any of you found a solution and/or stopped experiencing this problem?
I will try Nova, even though someone else said the problem came back for them.
It's pretty annoying for my brand new phone to be doing this.
I changed my cache to "art" and it helped. But sprint issued out a new update and that killed "art" caching. So I went back to delvik cache and screen lag is gone now.
