Can anyone tell me if the compact qwerty option from Sense is no longer an option? I don't see it. Maybe I am missing something.

Looks like compact qwerty is not an option any longer....
It's too bad....hopefully development might give the option back to the DNA.

droid DNA compact qwerty
I'm seeing now that there is no compact qwerty keyboard for the DNA... this changes the entire user experience for me... I love the past HTC devices I had partially due to the compact qwerty... called HTC to voice my opinion... didn't seem like customer service really gave a dam... HTC please push the compact qwerty to the DNA
Has anyone looked to see if the compact qwerty is in the M7/Sense 5? If it is, it might be as simple as pulling the IME and flashing.

Bummer, So my only other idea would be to pull it from the Rezound and resize for 1080 display. Anyone with skillz wanna give that a shot?

Is anybody using this keyboard on the Rezound ? I'm curious if it has compatibility issues like Swype. I actually like it better than Swype, so I don't mind giving that up from the RAZR if TouchPal still works.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA App
just tried and it "works" but doesnt take up the full screen and doesnt seem to bee very accurate
Damn... It's the most accurate thing I've found on the RAZR. It doesn't fill the width? That's pretty weird...
Thanks for the info.

I don't have any compatibility issues with Swype.

in case somebody else comes across this, I wanted to mention that the current chinese version of TouchPal (5.1.4) seems to work properly with the Rezound (it has some quirks of its own, but I don't think they're specific to the Rezound). it is mentioned elsewhere on xda.
(tested by installing on a best buy demo model )

I'm using touchpal on Rezound mainly because I couldn't find Swype in the market. It's been working perfectly for me. very accurate for my big fingers. That's with my rezound in the Otterbox defender case.

Yea, I noticed but I never use that KB anyway so I don't really care.

I switched to Smart Keyboard Pro the other day and like it better than stock. It has a huge spacebar (maybe the longest of any other keyboard out there (and I've tried them all)
It seems more responsive than stock (I type fast ) and there's tons of skins and adjustments (like key height) which are great...
Smart KB Pro is what I use also.
I have been using it in my last 4 phones. I have tried every KB there is and always keep coming back to SKBP every time.
I've been loving this HTC keyboard that I've downloaded from xda forum, but the only concern that I have is the fact that I don't have a multi-touch on my HTC keyboard. Does anyone know any thread that has HTC keyboard apk with multi-touch enabled? Thanks.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
yeah id like to know too. i need one
C'mon, nobody has it?
been looking for it for a year. i dont think there is one. HTC-IME has been abandoned
then is there any HTC keyboard apk that's multi-touch enabled?
Im having a hard time finding a decent keyboard for the Rezound. Here is the issue, I really don't like the standard HTC keyboard. The buttons are backwards as far as Im concerned.
Problem is when I try a different one, ICS keyboard from the market, swype etc they are way too small because of the Rezound screen. Also when I say too small I mean the width in addition to the height.
Ive seen a few keyboards where you can actually mod the height but not the width, which I honestly dont get. Well my primary problem is hitting the letter next to the one I actually want because the keys aren't wide enough.
Is there any keyboard out there thats basically the standard ASOP keyboard, but the same size as the HTC one, that would be perfect for me. I cant seem to find one.
Swiftkey Beta 3 is free for now. Best keyboard I've used to date.
Try A.I.type keyboard

This is a really good one. Perfect size in my opinion. And it's the best keyboard I've ever used

Here's a link to it: Swiftkey 3 Beta
The link is from Droid-Life in case anyone is worried. I don't know if it is the newest version of the beta, but it's a pretty good build.

If you want swype try these themed beta versions. Scroll down to where it say OLD LINKS: V5 Not for the Galaxy Nexus. I have tried them all and they're sized properly

I quite like GO Keyboard
I seriously need a new keyboard too. I loved swype on the incredible. It was beast mode, I could text and type as fast as typing on my computer. I can't find a decent keyboard on this thing. I can't use swype because it breaks and can't swype no where near as fast as I could on the incredible. I tried swiftkey and didn't really like that either. I currently use the trace on the HTCkeyboard and I can't stand it either. It's no where near as accurate as swype.
Does anyone know of some swypelike keyboards that don't break on the Rezound?

Do they not break in long swipes and can you swype really fast? I have a normal sized one, that wasn't my issue with swype.

So I just randomly came across this on flipboard, I found the UI to be intriguing!!
Part of me isn't sure if the DNA would be able to run the software very well, at least not without a lot of work, and I have no coding experience. I, however, think it would be awesome to run this on the DNA. If there are any Devs out there that would be able to get ahold of the software and would be able to attempt cooking this for the DNA I would be very happy and excited to run this UI.
Here is a video of the UI:

Thanks in advance!

I agree. With like a water ripple affect.
Looks kinda cool.
HtC DNA
XDA App
Yeah, it is definitely Windows-espue on the middle screen, but more advanced (I can see how some might find it slightly cluttered, I like it though). The right screen seems very much like the Android UI, just flipped at 90° (vertical page scrolling vs. horizontal). I would be fine without the left sceen; I guess it would make finding certain things a little easier though.
I just wish/hope some of the awesome devs in the DNA community would be able to get ahold of this and make some magic!

I like it does remind me of windows 8 but 10 times better I would like to see it up close and personal

Posted from my Verizon Employee Edition DROID DNA #01749.
I find the warping animations a bit ugly, and have never been a fan of HTC's UI design in general. I would definitely prefer Windows Phone.
its not exactly HTC its more like a custom rom for a custom device....its KDDI Japan's custom UI (heavily modified sense rom), running on their device
4 seemed slow and choppy
