Hey,
unfortunately my Mozart fell down on a Cat Bowl and the Touchglas cracked in two pieces.
The device still worked fine for like a month. Since then the Touch glass only works sporadic.
Means: I have to turn the device on and off (from standby) like 20 times, before the Touch reacts. When it's reacting it's like there is no problem, but when I turn it off (standby or real) and start it again, the problem appears aggain. And sometimes it works after 5 tries of turning on and off and sometimes after 50.
So I changed the Touch glass to a new one.
Same Problem.
May there be a board Problem? But why is it sometimes fully working. Makes ne sense to me.
Do you guys have an idea?
Thanks
Donald

I have a T-Mobile Pocket Phone Edition,
It's had a rough life but as kept going for over 3 years now.
For the last year I would have to realign the screen 2 or 3
times a week but over the last few months it keeps getting worse.
Sometimes the screen won't respond to anything anywhere,
then after I tap it a few times boom works fine.
Sometimes I'll tap on the “Ok” and the “Start menu” will activate.
Sometimes drawing a line up the center of the screen will end up
shooting all over the screen.
And sometime it will work perfectly!
I thought the problems were to erratic to be hardware so
I hard set after awhile it started again,
So I hard set and installed a different ROM after a coupe hours
the problem was back.
Also sometimes the align program will get stuck in a
loop that doesn't end.
I've searched but can't find an answer? Anyone have an idea?
I've already taken it a part once but couldn't see how to get
any further after I toke the back panel off? Please help!
WOW nobody? So no one was heard of this problem before?
Can anyone direct me to directions on taking apart the Wallaby?
Thanks <><
It's a problem with touch screen. You should check (and fix) it.
Maybe it is necessary to press well screen to the motherboard. (Sorry my english).
Ok, Can you tell me where that connection is?
Thanks
Toke everything apart, found the connection, cleaned everything (w/ screen wipe)
put it all back together. Still have the touch problem and now the backlight won't work!
I've found if I press the unit in my hand the touch panel works right,
I don't think it's a lose connection to the main board so I think it must be
one on the main board.
If anybody thinks they want it for parts let me know! :?
Hello
2 days ago I got a T-mobile MDA from a friend. Only the MDA and a cradle. It had not been used for at least half a year. At first I could not make it work as it did not react to the stylus on the touch screen. But after some resets it slowly came on, and was fairly working (slow sometimes)
As I wanted English SW, I downloaded one and installed. After some time the problem came again, and I decided to switch back. Then it stopped working again.
Sometimes I can get to the calibrating touch screen, but then it stop reacting.
I read about similar problems on this website, but I cannot install the file tpenable.exe until I get into operating system, and can use the touch pad.
I tried with a couple of ROM-versions, but it seems to have no influence. Still, to me it feels like a SW-problem.
Anyone have some suggestions?

Follow up
Here is a follow up on my problem:
I discovered that if I press hard at the lower quater of the touch screen, sometimes it works again. This points more to a HW problem.
I took the MDA apart a couple of times, but could not see anything wrong. Does anybody know how the touch screen technically works?
I noticed in another post about someone with a similar problem. Do anybody know what exactly he was soldering?

Hi,
I have a touch screen problem with seems like if the screen "feels" a non-existing touch so that when I actually touch it with my finger it activates pinch-zoom mode.
The problem appeared after I left a phone on a shelf switched off for about 1.5 month waiting for a new battery to arrive. When I switched it on with a new battery the mess started.
Tried the old battery, factory reset. The problem persists, sometimes right after boot, sometimes 1-2 min after boot.
From searching the forum I understand the most common problem with Hero screen it bottom freeze, but that's not my case and I couldn't find problems similar to mine.
Thanks for help in advance.
Hi I recently dropped my T-Mobile HD2 in a puddle of water very briefly i took the cover off and battery right after it happened and wiped everything down. The phone worked flawlessly for about 6 hours then I finally got a black screen. The phone will turn on boot into android(2.3 NAND) and the touch screen works plus im able to recieve calls and messages BUT the only way to tell is to use a bright flashlight to see the screen as I have NO BACKLIGHT. Help me please?
You have probably dead light emission layer. By all means, LCD is to be replaced.
You shouldn't turn phone on immediately after accident. Removing battery immediately, complete disassemble of every possible piece and letting it rest for 2-3 days in warm dry place is a proper way to do this. Next time of course.
So just replace the LCD? Should I order a digitizer with it? Thanks in advance.
Hello. I have issue with the touchscreen on my X10. First of all this phone is already 3 years old, and I'm the second owner so problems might arise from age. But everything else works fine though.
Anyway, the issue with touchscreen is, when the screen get wet a bit (whether it's from sweat or moisture or something), the touch screen gets jumpy. It does respond to my touch, but it reacts to the different spot of the screen, making typing and scrolling impossible. Ghosting. Erratic. Something like that. Wiping the screen does solve the issue, but it's bothering. I've removed the screen film that came upon the phone, but it still happens. Shouldn't touchscreen phone respond touch well even if the screen is a bit moist?
Any help is always appreciated. Thanks before. :good:
I too have this problem, any solutions ?
