Car Charger for Galaxy Player 4.2? - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

I am looking for a car charger for my daughters Galaxy Player 4.2.
I currently have a Motorola one which works fine for my Galaxy SII and my wife's HTC EVO, but for some reason it does not work on my daughters Player 4.2.
Anyone have a Car Charger that works on the 4.2 Player?

It maybe that you need a charger with more voltage.

More amperage, not voltage. USB voltage is ALWAYS 5 volts, but these players need like 700mA (.7A) or atleast the 4.0 needs .7A
Just make sure when looking at car chargers that each port on the charger outputs 1A

Thanks, I was just surprised it wouldn't work on her Player.. It charges my S2, my wife's Evo and even my Nexus 7.. I will see what I can find on Amazon.

Screen Stops Responding While Charging

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem... let me go into some detail...
When I charge the phone with the original Samsung charger or with the oroginal USB cable via PC it charges fine... so not some major problem...
Today I tried charging my phone with a iPhone charger using the original Samsung USB cable...
The phone was charging and the phone was on and working... but the screen wasn't responding at all... tho the power button was as well as the capacitive buttons... but ofcourae since the phone was locked they wouldn't do anything cuz I wasn't able to slide to unlock... it also seemed as if the apple charger got quite hot... but I'm not sure if that's how hot it normally gets...
Now I know normally it says everywhere to use the original chargers bla bla but most chargers aare interchangeable as far as I imagine... have use other HTC or Motorola chargers for other phones... but I do know apple products tend tto act up when connected to other non apple products...
So my question is does anyone know If tthis is normal with trying to use a apple charger with other phones...??
What I was also thinking is the original chargers output is 0.7A while the apple charger is 1A... both being 5volts ttho... maybe that's the problem...??
Any ideas...??

I think there's your problem... You're giving the phone more current that it can handle and can make the phone to do weird things...
I don't know if its just me or there are more that think alike, but I like to think that Apple is Apple and has its connectors/chargers and there's the rest of the world with their universal adapters, so I wouldn't try to mix those two worlds together...
If you need an spare charger/cable, get a standard microUSB cable or charger for any brand and will work without problems. I usually charge my Galaxy S2 with the HTC Desire USB cable without problems.
That's what I'm thinking too... that apple products just don't mix too well with other products... like even their handsfree for the iPhone... if I plug it into my laptop it just restarts... everytime... its weird as hell...
And yea maybe your right... only thing is I like the size of the apple charger being so small and compact hence Ita always laying in my bag... thought I could use it to charge my headset and phone...
Another thing that kinda worries me is the fact that if 1A is too much power... I just ordered a New Trent IMP70D battery pack... it has 2 USB ports for charging... one rated at 1A and the other at 2.1A... hope that's not going to be an issue with being too much power... :S
Tho I have read people are using it with their S2 with no problems...

I had the same problem a while back using a 1A charger after my samsung charger failed on me. So now I'm using my sons blackberry 700ma charger (he lost his phone DOH!) which I think is the same output as the samsung chargers.

If you really want to use the iphone charger with 1A current, then flash siyah kernel and use voltage control app to tune and make your phone receive the whole 1A current.

Using charge port for charge and audio?

Hello I've seen some mhl adapters that have a charge port and a 3.5mm jack in them also. Do these actually work?
I'm looking to mount the flyer in the dash of my car but only want one connection to charge and play audio instead of 2 cords of opposite sides of the tab. This would make it much easier to mount it and make it removable with ease. It would only be for charging and audio out for the stereo. I don't need HDMI out or anything like that.
Also could anyone recommended a car charger that would actually charge the flyer, or would I be better off with a power inverter?
Thank you!

I guess what I'm wondering is if the adapter will work if I don't use the video output part of it, just using the charge and audio.

Im curious about this also, looking to mount my view in the double din spot. And would like to be able to just lock it in without having to plug in this and that. Rather make it as seemless as possible.

You need a car charger that pushes 2 amps of current to charge your Flyer while it's turned on. Anything labeled for charging the iPad will deliver that 2 amps. I just picked up a USB car charger off Amazon that has 2 USB ports; 1 1amp, 1 2 amp. They also had some direct micro-USB car chargers that push 2 amps, but I wanted something where if the tip got broken, I just needed a cable, not the whole assembly.
Good luck...
This charger
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Vehi...Q9CA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333722016&sr=8-1
will charge your flyer at the fastest rate possible.
HOWEVER as I just learned, if you plug it into the MHL adapter it will not.......so the MHL adapter is a waste of freakin money. Thank the idiots at HTC for that one.

I try it with the AC M500, which doesnt give audio output from MHL, so I used the headset output(nearby the power button) to produce audio while using the MHL. So you dont need MHL cable for your usage.
I try ipad 2 compatible adapter but it wasnt supply enough juice for my flyer. I assume the usb cable and was the problem, as soon flyer recognize it is a normal usb cable, it use the setting that it only will take 0,5 A. So you would be better off with power inverter and using the official flyer adapter.
Hope this helps.
Sent from my HTC Flyer P510e
Flyer need 9v input to start the AC charge mode, so any of your USB changer ,regardless of the amp it can output, will not work.
Go get a flyer car adapter, and use Bluetooth for your audio need...

The important part here is the voltage the car charger outputs. I believe the standard Galaxy S2 outputs 5V (at 700mA [0.7A]). If the mA is lower, it will take a longer time to charge. If its higher, it will only draw from it what it needs.
So, check the output voltage of the charger is not higher than 5V and you should be ok.

iPod/iPad USB Charger with Galaxy 5.0?

I've tried searching for this answer so I apologize in advance if I missed it. Coming from the iOS world, I got a Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 this weekend (and love it to death already). I have a number of iPod/iPad USB Wall Chargers around so was wondering if anyone uses or if these can be used to charge the Galaxy 5.0?

The port on the USB cable won't fit in the galaxy player if its the little plug that you can detach and attach then you can use them

If you're talking about an adapter that plugs into the wall and gives you a USB port (which you can plug another cable into), you can give it a try. It might not work or work well because of current limitations, etc., but you can try. However, the cable that you plug into your iPod/iPad cannot be plugged into your galaxy player, if that's what you're asking - Apple has it's own dock connector, which is incompatible with Micro-/Mini-USB (I forgot which it is, but it applies to both).
the "wall wart" as they call it has a USB output, any and all USB outputs will work as they ALL charge at 5 volts (usb standard), that said you will have to use the USB cable that came with the SGP 5.0 as Apple has there own proprietary connector. The question is how well they will work, as chargers can range from .5 amps to 1.2 amps (general USB chargers not apple specifically), I believe you need atleast a .7 amp to charge, higher amps means faster charging, lower means slower to possible not enough output to even charge, so you need to check the specs of each charger and see what there outputs are.
Charging adapters for iDevices will get detected as a USB port by Samsungs. It will charge, but it won't charge nearly as fast as the stock charger.
I don't think people got what you meant. Yeah. All wall chargers work with any USB.

the usb slot on the plug is just like any other usb so it can power anything if you have the right cable.

Yes you can use the "wall" charger --iPhone/iPod use a 5 watt charger. The iPad uses a 10 watt which is what I use to charge my player using the USB cord that came with the player.
I also use the "plug" that came with the player--it just takes an eternity to fully charge.
The reason why it takes forever to charge is because of the kernal that Samsung installed on it. If you haven't changed it, what I would do is disable the GPS and bluetooth and change the wi-fi sleep mode to when screen is off under the advanced selecton by hitting the menu key in your wifi and networks settings.

Apple A1299 on Galaxy Player 4.2 ?
Hello, my first post here and I hope I can reopen this thread safely.
I've just bought a Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 from Amazon UK which comes with its own mains charger and USB cable.
I also have a spare Apple A1299 charger that my former flatmate used for his Ipod. When I connect the USB adaptor to this charger and the Galaxy is switched off, there's no indication that the battery is charging. At first I though it didn't work at all. If I switch the device on, it appears to be charging.
I've also tried this charger on a Philips MP3 player and here too, it doesn't show it's charging but it does indeed charge.
Can I have a clarification if this particular charger won't damage my Galaxy Player?
Thanks
Ottavio
The charger that works is the one for iPad which doesn't use the same as iPhone.

Not true. Back in the day I used one to charge my iPod and it actually pulled power from my iPod since its not giving out enough power. So I had a power dead iPod the next day. Shouldn't happen but its good to note how much power it can give out. I don't think this is as a big a problem now but better be cautious.

Does anyone know if unofficial chargers work on the touchpad

I screwed up mine. Short of ordering one from HP i wanna know if someone has had any luck in getting unofficial chargers working with the touchpad.

Yeah...I use my gnex USB cord/charger on the round plug in base. Other USB cords will work so long as you use the touchpad plug in core. Hope this helps. Tc

Actually you can use a different base as well. I use my HTC one and it works perfectly although it charges slower. But an unofficial one should be good.
Grr...I can't post links...
I ordered a new charger off ebay for $3.50 shipped, just came in today. Worked like a charm. My cellphone charger (Nexus S) wouldn't charge it.
I haven't used this bad boy in like 2 months, almost forgot about it!
one thing for sure try to charge it under android. even blackberry charger works(smaller mAh) only its slower to charge
my asus transformer charger works with a regular micro usb cable.
That official TP charger is 2000ma, cell chargers do work but are only around 750ma. The touchpad can draw about 850 when in use. As such, you will want something over 1000ma if you want to use it and have it charge.
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using xda premium
thanks a lot guys. The Samsung Galaxy Tab's charger is almost the same as the HP touchpad's charger (almost the same wattage; 2000mAh and 5V)
I am hoping it will work just as well.
The problem is that when i connect any third party charger to my touchpad it says use only HP touchpad charger and doesnt charge

Yes I have read this many times but the TP under CM9 charges better then under WEBOS
I can check if my spare Barnes & nobles nook charger works with the tp. (1900mah and 5v if I remember correctly).
If so I could ship it to you for free as I have no use for it.

HTC chargers work on mine under CM9. I've never tried under WebOS. But the HTC chargers put out about 1000mA so it will charge, just very slowly.

my tablet ran out of battery and then my charger screwed up.
the puzzling thing is that now that its completely drained it does not accept other chargers. I know it does when its still running because i have used different ones to charge it while it was running but when its completely out it only wakes up if i connect it to an official TP charger
Any charger will work via cm9, but on WebOS it will detect that it isn't the stock charger.
