I used to be able to choose whether I wanted to toggle activesync mode or storage mode when plugging in my htc hd2 to my pc's usb port. Now the box doesn't appear anymore (tried two desktop computers so far) and it goes straight into storage mode, and windows pops up the window asking what to do (Play, copy, print, open folder, no action, etc.).
I searched the phone up and down for an activesync option (I thought I'd seen it somewhere), but couldn't find it.
Could anyone please tell me how to reenable activesync without hardresetting?
Thanks in advance.
P.S.: I'm running an Energy rom.

Thanks a lot fred! It was right in front of my nose!
Is there any way to get the phone to automatically detect usb plugged in as drives on my pc, seen quite a few automount apps in market, but they all seem to either need rooted phone or only mount the sd card, and not mount inbuilt storage. Any ideas folks, as having to go into settings, network setting and usb settings is a royal pain each time I want to put anything on the phone.
Kies doesn't work at all, says need MTP drivers which I've tried reinstalling to no effect(I digress -this is a separate issue) .
Thanks in advance for any help provided peeps.
Erhm, when you plug your phone into your PC, you just drag down your status bar and select 'connect to pc'. No need to go into settings you know.
Settings => Applications => Development => USB debuggin [X]
enable that, connect USB, then this:

how hard is it to press a button?
ah, much quicker, cheers folks, needed to enable debugging to get the option.
To get your S2 connected to copilot central You have to connect via USB mass storage.
First start up the copilot central on your pc, and log in with user name & password.
Now on the SG2 main menu, go to Apps/settings/wireless and network/Usb utilities.
Now push the white button that say's[Connect storage to PC] then Connect you usb cable to your phone.
Now you will see another white button [Connect USB storage], now push the button and now you are connected to the USB mass storage.
Copilot may take a few min's before it see's your device.
Remember to disconnect the usb via the task bar (Safely remove hardware and eject media) when finished.
Thank my thank you button if I helped you.

Dear XDA people,
I want to show the status bar after entering the correct pattern on my phone. Here is my phone's info attached.
The trouble i am having is that the status bar hides (i cannot get it to show). The device will charge when connected to my Mac, however, it is not recognized as a storage device... Do I have to factory reset or uninstall anything?

Solution:
1. About status bar:
-long press the power button
-select expanded desktop
Solved
2. About usb connection
The problem: MTP mode is the default which I don't think connects will with OS X
-make sure you are not ruining tablet mode
-goto Settings > Storage> press the menu button for options > select usb connection >select mass storage
Solved.
Swyped from my Galaxy SII
Dear all,
I used to have the usb computer connection menu (where I can choose between MTP/PTP/usb mass storage) from the pulldown drawer whenever I connect it to my computer. However, when I have selected "mass storage device" for a couple of times, this menu disappeared from the pulldown drawer and can only be accessed through settings - storage - menu button. This is inconvenient... Can someone help me to put it back to the pulldown drawer?
I am using cm 10.1, lastest nightly version (May 4th 2013) on I777.
Thank you!
-Shawn
