Invert Colours on display....what to do? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have Omega ICS v15.1 with Siyah Kernel 4.0.3. Sometimes it happens that due to some app my phone hangs and when I repeatedly press the power button or menu button the display goes crazy and shows all inverted colours (eg. my wallpaper is black so it shows white and likewise). Please help me out in this matter. I don't get whats going wrong. And also is this thing harmful for the phone ??
Thanks in advance!

It's a feature of Siyah. Click home 4 times. You can turn it off using ExTweaks.

Oh Thank You very much!

[Q] Turning off screen issues after updating to ICS

Hello, before ICS I was using an app (tap tap tap https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.maicas.android.wsleep&feature=search_result)
to turn off screen by pressing a widget instead of pressing the power button, thereby I avoid to be pressing the annoying button
It worked perfectly, but after flashing ICS it isnt working good, when I try to turn off screen, it does it during half a second but then It go back on in pattern lockscreen. If I dont touch the screen it goes off again after a few seconds
Any idea please? thanks a lot
Maybe the app just doesn't work on ICS? A lot don't yet
Have you noticed that this application has been updated 1 year ago??
Try " screen off and lock "

[Q] Standby button malfunction

Hello,
When I press the standby button on my X10, my screen goes black, which is normal. Lately, my screen goes black but immediately after that it returns to the lock screen, and I have to press it twice or more to get it black.
Is this software or hardware related and how can I solve this? Running Wolfbreak's ROM and Doomkernel V6. Running Wolf for about a year now and suddenly this problem starts showing up.
Hi,
its complicated, because might be both. If you used power button very often and/or your X10i is older it might be hardware issue.
I recommend you try different rom first and try it. If it would be the same, then replacement of power button should be the last fix . In that case I might help you with that.

Seems like I fixed the problem by wiping cache and dalvik cache. I'm not sure which one actually solved it. So it was software related.
Thanks for the help anyway!

Capacitive button Control in Helly Bean?

i think i have the right idea here. i installed the helly bean rom a couple days ago and absolutely love it so far, however the home, search, menu, back buttons all stay lit if a notification for txt or email happens while its sleeping. for further clarification in case some dont understand what i mean, say i hit the power button to go into sleep mode and someone send me a txt the phone plays the sound and lights the bottom 4 buttons like normal but once done the bottom buttons remain lit and dont turn off until i wake the phone and put it back to sleep.
any ideas on where to change this? or is it part of the rom

It is part of the ROM. It functions as a notification LED to let you know that you have a text/missed a call/etc. You shouldn't worry about it, it doesn't affect battery life.
You can turn off Notification Light in settings.

Capative Hardware keys not lit until u press in captivate key area in Helly Bean
Hi There,
I just flashed my cappy to the HellyBean ROM, and everything works great! Thanks for such a nice ROM.
While using it I found one small issue,It could be a setting issue which I'm unable to figure so please help me out.
When i'm using the phone, in gingerbeard, it used to light the bottom 4 capacitive keys(Setting,HOME,BACK,SEARCH) all the time so that I can press them when i'm using the phone in dark. But in Hellybean, those 4 LEDs are not lit when the touch screen is used, those 4 buttons are lit only when I press in the Bottom area.
Please let me know how to make them ON even when i'm using the touchscreen area?
Thanks,
Raj
This is the vibrant section not captivate but I think there is a setting in devil kernel configuration app. Don't know for sure which exact setting controls that but I think there's another setting in display, try both. I don't use any bln because of battery use, plus I'm no longer running HB on my vibe or cappy.

Screen problem

I am on OMEGA 44.4. After prolonged use like playing games, browsing, charging and listening to music etc. screen on the top turns turns blackish and if i restart it is back to normal and this happens only on the home screen and menu screen and works fine on rest of the other screens.
If screen is damaged why doesn't it happen on the other screens too why only the home and menu screens ?
Please let me know if there is a fix. Thanks in advance.
use SEARCH next time, it's been asked and answered numerous times.

[Q] My Xperia U doesn't turn off the screen

Hi all,
I have a Xperia U rooted with DevSwift JellyBean Lite v6 and it works really fine. The only problem is it doesn't switch off the screen, and by this I mean it turns black but there's still light, so it like instead of turning off it just display full black.
Anyone had this problem??
I had 15 seconds to turn off in the display options in settings and nothing happens.

Same if you press the power button?
What do you mean by "nothing happens"?

I mean that normally when you press the power button(also for lock) it turns off the screen, and by that I mean not even background light.
Mine only turns the screen black and there's some background light left.
In a full dark room it will be enough loom to see something.
By nothing happens I mean that if this state of black screen doesn't change to turn off screen after 15 seconds. It just stays like that.

When the screen is on it go to this state, and same when you press power? Just to clarify.
Did you install the MOD on clean stock followed installation instructions etc?

When I'm using the phone and left it after 15 seconds it goes to this state of black screen, same as if I push the power button.
Yes, I followed the instructions, CWM, wipe the 3 caches and install. Everything works fine except this thing.

I had exactly the same problem...
I tried changing kernel (between ExperimentalU-Stock-9.0c4 & Experimental-U-12_KERNEL) and also tried changing rom version (to 7_ULTRA_LITE version) and the problem still stood until I found out that the problem is not from the rom or kernel, you should wipe data/cache partition/dalvik cache ONLY before installing the rom. DO NOT wipe anything after installing the rom. I did it and it worked for me... I hope It work for you too...
