I'm trying to watch the NFL Mobile app on my tv using my MHL adapter but when attempting to play video it just says disconnect the HDMI. Does anybody know of any workarounds for this?

Not that I am aware of.
I heard it was verizon TOS that we can't project NFL to big screen. I believe it is VZW's agreement to NFL when they negotiate the contract, cause this is directly competition to all cable networks who buys NFL rights to show the football games.

So there's no workaround? Lame, thanks anyways
The same thing happens with Hulu Plus.
Greedy bastard Hollywood don't want you to watch on the big screen.

I used to have sprint tv and i didnt have to pay for it unlike tmo tv is their an app like sprint tv? Or can i push sprint tv app to my phone?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
push it and lets see if it works.
i miss my moment but sprint tv on the vibrant would
be great if possible.
Sprint tv use to work but Sprint shut that down. Tmobile has one its called Mobitv or Tmobile Tv, pretty lame not much there, not worth the $10 a month
Lol... Sprint tv and tmotv are the same thing. They're both rebranded mobitv. You can install sprinttv if you want, bit since your phone isn't on sprint's network, you won't suddenly get mobitv for free...
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
so it works but wont allow access to the sprint tv networks?
I'm shopping around for internet service because I just got my own place and my service is horrible 3g and 4g barely one bar always disconnecting so I'm going to call sprint about an airrave do anyone have any suggestions on good internet service providers that I can with good speeds and not so expensive? I only want internet not cable and telephone.

You'd be better searching for ISPs in your area and researching yourself than asking blindly on a phone forum.
PS: Check out websites and call, sometimes they will have a special one way and not the other. Comcast, for example, has a lot of online specials/mailer specials and you can't get them over the phone. You can get internet without cable from Comcast (at least by me) for about $20 for 1.5 Mbps down/600kbps up.

Thanks for the reply I asked in the phone forum because I'm mostly getting the internet for my 3d and streaming. I've also been doing some research I just wanted some more opinions so far I've seen Comcast and xfinity(something like that) I'm wondering if they are true to their speeds and prices. Thanks again

I was gonna say Verizon FIOS, but you only want internet.
You can get just Internet on Verizon FiOS. If it's available in your area definitely go for it. I got it 3 years ago and it's not only saved money because it's cheaper than Comcast but it's also a lot more stable. I think it's only dropped out once in the 3 years I've had it due to a snow storm...

I would go with Comcast personally if you can, it's just the most reliable for high speed internet and TV imho, by the way a good tip for getting an air rave kit from sprint is through the cancellation department, tell them your situation and bring up that Verizon has coverage in your area and you going to switch providers if you can't get an air rave for free, your not willing to pay more for something that should be working correctly in the first place...that's how I got both of mine at no cost

It's a cartel. They all suck and all are overpriced. Flip a coin and move on.

I have Verizon fios, the internet is BLAZING fast..... However I've had a HORRIBLE experience with their service department. My wife has spent countless hours on the phone with them it took about 8 calls and who knows how many hours to get someone who (a) knows what theyre talking about (b) will follow through after talking to them or (c) actually gives a **** enough to do their job. They sent numerous boxes (for multi-room DVR) and took many tries to get it working. And we were not givin the package promised to us over the phone. But once u cut through their bs service department its not bad. Good luck...
I know you said u only want internet. Sorry had to vent.

Anyone have the apk for the non-verizon version?
I hate the one Verizon forces you to use. It says in the market "This item is not available on your carrier"

pretty sure that no one has been able to figure out how to crack the newer versions. And the old versions won't open, make you update. So I guess you are out of luck.
How dare verizon expect you to be a verizon customer to use something that they paid millions for the exclusive on...
There is no non Verizon version. The NFL mobile app is a Verizon exclusive and I even had to put my verizon online user name and password in to use it when I dl it on my rezound

This is incorrect as I had the NORMAL NFL app (don't think it was called NFL mobile just NFL) for my old incredible S in tmobile. As with the original poster I don't think we get that one. Maybe if you get the apk from somewhere else and try to install it may work.

nope, pretty sure the OP means the cracked verizon one to make it work on other carriers. They were able to do this last year, but verizon kept updating it, making the old ones update before they would work, and eventually people got tired of trying to crack it.

Not trying be difficult but the OP says non-verizon version, not a cracked one of the verizon version.
As I said this was/is available for non-verizon phones as I had in on my Incredible S using tmobile.

I just googled t mobile nfl app and got a bunch of links for cracked verizon apps that used to work. I could find nothing about any t mobile nfl app. Think you just had a cracked version of the verizon app. Verizon pays millions to have that exclusive with the nfl.

It wasn't a tmobile specific app, it was simply a NFL official app for all non-verizon customers. I'll see if I can take a photo of the app on a friends phone.
All the app did was show scores and allows you to follow along play by play similar to the espn app.

Wondering if there is any way around tethering and data charges, will be in a hotel for a week and don't care to pay for the internet there. Thinking about trying pdanet.
Will Verizon notice?
tether at your own risk, but chances are verizon will not notice.
Why not use wifi tether ? And there's almost no chance Verizon will notice.
If you're rooted use the latest version of Wireless Tether, if not, ClockWorkMod USB tether is cheap and works on non rooted phones.
Assuming you don't go over your data cap if you have one, you'll be fine. I tether and watch hd netflix on my Xbox all the time

I stayed at a Marriott when I was on a business trip (we had the event at the hotel), although we (my company employees) had gotten a free access code, the hotel charged everyone else $10 every 24 hours.
edit: Of course I ended up tethering to my phone anyways at night due to the fact the Internet connection ended up being overloaded. haa
Also just realized you added the "especially for work usually offers free or none at all." bit.

Last time I stayed there, it was $10 a day or some flat rate for the week, needless to say, Wifi Tether works great...
And get around VZW's Wifi Hotspot or that "Tetherguard" apk vzw has rigged in the system...? Hmm
Embassy suites still charges for hotspot, but that free breakfast and happy hour are tough to pass up.

I believe that the data plan does not matter; it is whether you are on 4g or not. When Verizon bought the spectrum for its 4g service it was agreed to not restrict user use of their devices.
The FCC specifically left out the part about unlimited data in their ruling.
And you would be surprised at how many hotels charge for internet access still. I've practically lived out of a suitcase for the past 2 months and had at least 4 or 5 hotels still wanting to charge me for internet access. Or the free access was so miss poor that I ended up tethering anyway.

You can tether. They can't block tether apps in the market nor charge you for using it, unlimited or not. Also, tetherguard can be messed with..

There is nothing in the fcc ruling that says that can't charge for tethering just that they can't restrict the tether apps in the play store.
Man yall need to learn how to read.

Not for their 4g, but for apps like NFL mobile.
Is there anyway to trick the device into thinking it's a verizon product so when I run NFL mobile or the like it will actually work?

I have an OG Evo and did a ton of research to try to get the NFL app from Verizon to work. It has to be a hacked app. There was one that worked 2 years ago, but no dice the past 2 seasons.
