I used to have sprint tv and i didnt have to pay for it unlike tmo tv is their an app like sprint tv? Or can i push sprint tv app to my phone?

push it and lets see if it works.
i miss my moment but sprint tv on the vibrant would
be great if possible.
Sprint tv use to work but Sprint shut that down. Tmobile has one its called Mobitv or Tmobile Tv, pretty lame not much there, not worth the $10 a month
Lol... Sprint tv and tmotv are the same thing. They're both rebranded mobitv. You can install sprinttv if you want, bit since your phone isn't on sprint's network, you won't suddenly get mobitv for free...

so it works but wont allow access to the sprint tv networks?

I'm switching from the Nexus S and found out last night that the Nexus S lets you use the Gingerbread wireless tether for free (for now at least) because they didn't find a way to block it from working.
Is this the same thing on the EVO 3D?
I only saw the Sprint Hotspot in settings which doesn't work without subbing obviously. So I'm guessing they removed it or I am missing where it is.
The nexus s is a "pure Google" phone which means sprint didnt/wasn't aloud(?) change anything in the android OS. That's why wireless tether is still there for free in the nexus s. The EVO 3d however has alll of sprint's bloat etc., including a locked WiFi hotspot.

Nope, gotta pay to play on the 3D.
Has anybody tried calling sprint & actually complaining about this issue? They may give it to you and just waive the fee on your account... Might be worth a shot

I don't think it's something Sprint is gonna give you it for free. Hotspot has never been free, I wouldn't call in to complaint about it.

It will be free to root users soon enough. Let Sprint make a few bucks off the non-rooters.
Okay oh well no big deal just wondering. I'm actually waiting to get the EVO 3D right now. I barely used tethering on my droid but it was really nice to have when I needed it. I probably won't need it before its rooted anyways.

Once root is gained Wireless Tether is the way to go...and its free.

Try the "Pdanet" or "Pdanet Tablet" app to use through bluetooth. Works great for me using my Nook to tether to my 3vo.
Has anybody had any luck with a wired tether app? I had one on the epic and loved it better than wireless tether since it would help keep the phone charged. I had a backup of the apk that I used on the epic but it wouldn't work on the photon. I know of pdanet but would rather not use it since wired tether app worked great.

Why not? PDANet works great.
Cuz pda net does block some sites and with the wired tether app u don't have to install anything on your pc

I personally use EasyTether on my phone. And i have my parents, in-laws and various family members using it too.
I think its $4.99 on Amazon's App Store right now. Its normally $9.99. It is available on the Android Market too.
I like EasyTether because you dont need root and they have a client (computer) program for Windows, Mac, and Linux. I use linux regularly and so i needed it to work with that.

have you heard if this is allowed by sprint or if they will be throttling back data if they find out we are tethering?.just asking because sprint no longer offers tethering but instead has the 29.99 hot spot package, unless its a corporate account.i want to switch over to sprint but im worried they'll cut off my data connection if im not paying for the hot spot feature.
Ive used 10GB so far this month.. No issues.

I use 20 some GB regularly. The guy at my sprint store told me his favorite part of root was free tethering.

My wife n i use easy tether pro and have for years on multiple carriers. Works great, easy to set up, paid for itself the first week. Just get it.

you could try cwm tether. i have used it a few times.
so i hard bricked my vibrant and im sending it to mobile tech videos next friday and i wanted to know if its unlocked if it would work on virgin mobiles network because i currently have them. either way im un bricking it but they offer unlock services so i was gonna pay the 10$ extra to do it cause i love the phone. if not ill use it as a play phone for games
Edited: I gave the wrong advice. I was thinking Straight Talk. You were asking about VM. I believe below poster is correct, and since VM in the USA uses a CDMA network, then it would effectively be impossible to use your Vibrant with their service.
Virgin mobile in the US is a cdma network so you cant use a vibrant with it unfortunately.
OK thanks guys saved me 10 bucks

There are a couple free apps in the Google Play Store to unlock your vibrant if you decide you would like to use it on a different network in the future

Your options for service other than T-Mobile are at&t, straight talk(uses tmo and at&t but its cheaper) simple wireless and depending on where you live there might be other providers . Make sure its GSM and it will work but that doesn't guarantee 3g service. That depends on which frequency bands the service provided uses for 3g services. I have a captivate (at&t sgs1) unlocked and use my second tmo line, I don't get 3g on it because they don't share the same 3g frequency bands.

Not for their 4g, but for apps like NFL mobile.
Is there anyway to trick the device into thinking it's a verizon product so when I run NFL mobile or the like it will actually work?

I have an OG Evo and did a ton of research to try to get the NFL app from Verizon to work. It has to be a hacked app. There was one that worked 2 years ago, but no dice the past 2 seasons.

I'm trying to watch the NFL Mobile app on my tv using my MHL adapter but when attempting to play video it just says disconnect the HDMI. Does anybody know of any workarounds for this?

Not that I am aware of.
I heard it was verizon TOS that we can't project NFL to big screen. I believe it is VZW's agreement to NFL when they negotiate the contract, cause this is directly competition to all cable networks who buys NFL rights to show the football games.

So there's no workaround? Lame, thanks anyways
The same thing happens with Hulu Plus.
Greedy bastard Hollywood don't want you to watch on the big screen.
