International. Where to buy? - HTC Droid DNA

Anyone know where one can buy the HTC DNA (deluxe) internationally ?

Probably the easiest would be to find someone in the states to by and ship it to you.

Some sources say it will come to Europe (the UK atleast) after China got it. Others say it won't. Anyway I really want this phone but if it takes them more than 2 months to bring it to Belgium (where I live), I won't buy it. Because I want it to be the newest and best phone out there for a while. That's not possible if you get it 2 months after the release. But I don't want to go to Samsung either because of the plastic design, Such a dilemma
PS: Sorry for my bad English.

How much exactly pay you for a non contract Droid DNA ?
I try to buy it and i choose "device without service", then "Next" yo the end, I ended up ordering
I wait 4 days and nothing. So.. i call to verizon and ask what's up and they told me that i must choose "Device with wireless" and 40 USD month line.
Did you encountered the same problem ?
In store is asame problem ?
How much exactly did you pay for an non contract (without a subscription) ?
Thanks in advance !

How are you ordering from Verizon? They ship in the US only, unless you have a friend/relative in the US or are using a US mail forwarder.

im wonder can you buy it from amazon? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A4OOPN0/?tag=getbestbuy20-20 according xDa can boot unlocked so

I believe Amazon Wireless ship to US addresses only.
The only other places I'm currently aware that offer the Droid DNA with international shipping are:
eBay
Negri Electronics
Expansys USA

hmm im wonder if you have it and something is **ck up (im sure it will wont)with you phone and you try use yours warranty htc make this legit or they say "sorry this phone is not suppose be in your country and we dont repair him" ?
http://theinformr.com/cell-phones/htc-droid-dna/buy/

Does anyone know of any other places that ship the Droid DNA internationally?
eBay prices are inflated and neither Negri or Expansys will have stock soon.

I put data of VCC (virtual credit card) and put the address of shipping trader from USA to Europe. SIMPLE !
Is not first time when i buy from USA and all was ok with order but they (Verizon) dont send me any feedback about sending order and only after i call it on the phone they told me that i must buy a "Device with Wireless" with 40 USD / month, so i cannot buy "Device without service".
So, is a known s _ _ t of Verizon or they lie me and just me have bad luck ?

Yes, somewhat the same problem but then in the store.
Also couldnt but the phone without a plan in an actual Verizon store.
I did manage to buy the DNA without a plan in a general Electronics store that also sells verizon products.

AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II use in india

Hi,
iam completely new to cell phones, right now ma frieds are in usa & i want to buy AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II from usa, & then i want to unlock it so tht i can use it in india with my vodafone gsm network.
here are my question.
1.how much it will cost to buy AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II & what documents will be require to buy it. ?
2. its is possible to use tht phone in india after unlock ? & what will be cost to unlock it. please help
A quick search would have yielded you your answers

dont know about the price but unlocking is free from the android market.
Just got back to the states from Hyderabad. Off contract expect to pay 650$ or about 32500 rupees. You can get one used for around 400$ to 450$. You can unlock the phone yourself and the phone works fine with vodaphone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
I would strongly recommend the I9100 in India - you will get warranty support for it, won't have to bother with unlocking, and you won't have to deal with carrier-mangling of firmware. Carrier-mangling has largely been neutralized for Gingerbread, but ICS is completely unknown.
He has a good point. The off contract price for the US version is about the same for the international version in India anyhow. Any particular reason you are looking for the AT&T version?

Thanks for reply guys. but on at&t site price is 150$ with contract.!!!! so after buying tht cell i can unlock it. is it ok or i shd buy from india ?
The 2 year on contract price will require a credit check and a US address for billing.

But what if i buy from us citizen & then unlock the same in india. ?
I do brokerage for US customs for imports.....I know the phone would require an FCC form. I'm not sure if India customs would require it because I don't do exports but its possible. Just a thought

The device is $550 without contract for a US-only warranty - no sane person is going to waste their contract subsidy (which comes along only once every 18-24 months) on giving you their $400 discount.
hey Terrold thanks for reply man. help me out man. please do some inquiry for me. as i am newbie for all this stuff. & if its possible to get the cell with contract & then unlock it & use d same in india. then explain how one can do tht. any help would be appreciated.

It's possible, but then you will be committed to paying for AT&T service which you won't be using.
That's the idea of the contract discount - AT&T gives you a $400 discount on the device, in exchange for being guaranteed that you will pay for their voice AND data service for two years.
This will cost you FAR more than paying full off-contract price. As an example, my total service bills come to $70/month or so after taxes - that is INCLUDING a pre-tax 25% discount on service I get through my employer.

It is cheaper to get an unlocked version. 2year contracts are expensive, that's why at&t can afford to sell it at discounted price.

So basically you want someone in the US to get the phone on contract, and sell you the phone for $150, while they continue to pay the bill? Seems legit...

I don't think he understood that this is what would have to happen for him to get the device for $150.
Ok dud. My brother brought me a SGH-i777 just a week bfor..I stay in B'lore. Listen. There are 3 ways to buy it.
1st: With 2 years contract for approx $150 which I suggest you not to go with.
2nd:With NO CONTRACT(The phone will still be locked to AT&T) for approx $490...which my brother went for and is best way to go with.
3rd: Is to buy an unlocked SGH-i777 on Amazon or any other website which can be trusted..This too is an good option.
I chose 2nd option and hav unlocked it free by rooting it with Odin 1.85(App which is used for rooting) and by downloading Galaxy S Unlock app by Helroz which is available on Android Market for free..and u can root+unlock it perfectly within 10 mins..yes 10 mins or even less. Its damn easy procedure and you will get the rooting+unlocking guide. MAKE SURE YOU READ IT CORRECTLY. Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289395&highlight=unlocking
Now I have provided you with every bit of info you needed. TC
You could get the att contract and then just freeze your account. You'll only be paying about 10 dollars a month. I do it when I go overseas for extended periods of time, since I work for a cruise line.

Where to buy?

This is really baffling me. This is a 6 month old phone and I can't find it for $350-400. No one in my area has it on Craigslist and eBay prices seem higher than AT&T. AT&T wants $449.99 for it which isn't bad but sales tax will hurt. It's almost frustrating. I'd like a brand new phone or one opened just to root or unlock. Why is this so hard? I still find this to be the most powerful phone on AT&T at the moment.
So you plan to use the phone elsewhere?
Got mine on craigslist for $300.

I'm in the US and I have AT&T so I don't need an unlocked Version if that's what you meant. My problem is I can't seem to find one in flawless condition or new for a reasonable price. Everyone on CL has a SkyRocket listed which doesn't help.

Got it but why need spending that much of dollars when you can get it, brand new for $10 at AT&T or 1 cent at Amazon? You're using ATT network anyway, right?
Yes, stuck with them for 2 years, but so what, unless you want to jump carrier.

Can you elaborate on this? I have a individual line with 450 mins, unlimited text and data. With taxes this comes to $90/mo. Now would a new line be only $10? Don't you need a voice and data package with that? I don't follow?

That's a ridiculous solution. Change from individual to family plan = hassle. Ten MORE dollars per month to AT$T = lame. Having to change phone numbers = hassle.
Looks like this is your best bet. $400 for a new unlocked i777 is pretty dang good.

Sorry for not giving more info. I was already on family plan. I did not have to switch numbers as the old cheap phone that was sitting in my house took over the new number. The way it seems by previous posts is i can sell my phone for at least 400 possibly more. I only owe around 210 for the remaining contract for the added line. It might not work out for everyone but it works for me.

Thanks for finding that on EXPANSYS.com. I've bought from them in the past. Is that the AT&T branded Galaxy S II though? It says unlocked so does that mean it was factory unlocked or someone unlocked it by opening it up? I need an AT&T branded phone.

you'd be looking at at least $20 more a month to do that. $59.99 family talk 550. You don't have to change numbers, you can add the line, swap it to your line and take the data off the new line.
You will end up paying $550+ depending on taxes spread out over 2 years so yeah, not the greatest solution for you.

No, its not. But she he/she was just giving me some advice. I'm liking the Expansys option at $399. I am a little concerned if the phone is used since its unlocked, and whether or not it was factory unlocked. I always thought the i777 was the AT&T version and the AT&T version only? Ugh

I would contact them before purchasing to find out what method they used for unlocking and if the phone is new. It doesn't say anything about new/used. If they just unlocked it with the subsidy unlock code, all should be well if it is indeed new. If you care about warranty.
If it is unlocked by methods found here, well that can be reversed anyhow. As long as it is new.

I'm pretty sure if the model number is I777, it's the AT&T version. That's what it shows in the picture at least; you can see the AT&T logo on it. I'd be willing to be it's new...Expansys is a trustworthy site. Still, it doesn't specifically say that, so you should probably contact them and ask.

Is it safe to buy the xperia s on eBay when it's a unwanted upgrade? Uk

Is it safe to buy a xperia s or any upgrade of eBay when it's a upgraded phone that they don't want on contract? What's stopping them from getting the phone blocked after I leave feed back? Or 6 month down the line they can't pay there bill and the phone gets blocked and then it can only be used out of the UK. Is this the risk we have to take? I've got 2 options, but it of eBay for 300 or Amazon for 379 and be safe. Thanks

Hi myself wouldn't buy an upgrade or any contract phone from ebay period! To be safe this is a new phone and would have problems so incase of this it's better to get it from a retailer. Also the phone wouldn't be on a network.

I've bought and sold quite a few phones off eBay with no problems. You need to look at and check feedback etc. But to be honest if people are that worried in the first place they should buy from a retailer.

Yes I have bought a lot of phones of eBay but not smartphones that are contract and upgrades that can be blocked. Have you bought plenty of upgraded contract phones, it's alright saying look at there feed back but you only have a month to leave feedback so after that month it could be blocked and then you won't be able to leave them bad feed back or bring it up with ebay.

yes I've bought unwanted upgrades, smartphones etc. the thing is that all phones can be blocked whether upgrades or not. I can only comment on my experience with eBay, others might not be so lucky. When I say feedback what I meant was look at how much feedback what type of items they sell and even email some previous buyers just to confirm they got what they expected.
my XS was bought from ebay as an unwanted upgrade! (so as my X10)
I think it's quite safe, the warranty is still active as soon as the phone is a UK version. And I don't think they can block the phone (unless it's locked to a network). An unlocked phone = belongs to the owner ; locked phone = belongs to the network. (am i right?)

If the person signed the contract with Carphone Warehouse / Phone4u, then the phone must be factory unlocked (unless it's an exclusive model to one network). And you can still "upgrade" with carphone / phone4u.
Actually I am not sure if they can even lock a "locked / branded" phone... (there was a news a few weeks ago about people are investigating methods to remotely lock stolen phones... well, this must mean they can't do it at the moment.)
And my friend told me that he had a friend who was working in Orange, and he ALWAYS could
"steal" phones from the store. the method was:
1. Use someone's name and address to sign a contract (comes with the latest phone of course)
2. Use his own credit card to pay
3. Pay the first month bill
4. Then claim that he didn't purchase the contract, as the name and address isn't his
5. So the contract is cancelled
6. Done
7. The phone is still his.
I'm not sure if this method is still working LOL, not sure if everyone could do the same as the guy was a Orange staff. But DO NOT try!!
I have also bought multiple devices via Ebay and have always succeeded in unlocking the device and using it on my network.

I see what you mean Warehouse / Phone4u most should be factory unlocked, say o2/Orange shop locked... I know the network can be blocked due to my friend at work having a contract phone, htc wildfire and he stopped paying his bill and the IMEI number was blocked by his service provider, the phone then couldn't be used the UK but works fine in any other country. The phone still works you just cant make calls when its blocked. Thanks

Right so did you get your phone from a orange shop? then just go to Phones4u and just upgraded?
I bought my Xperia S off ebay for £260 unlocked brand new. I also bought an X10 over a year ago. ebay is great as long as the seller has good feedback. Also always pay with paypal as its easy to get your money back if there are any problems.

Thanks

To date I start having screen issues with Xperia S, I have always bought phone from eBay (locked or unlocked) then take care of business with no issues.
When I bought the Xperia S from eBay, Yellow tint hit the screen and since it was from eBay I can't get it repaired. That sucks because basically with the market value of the phone and when I bought it I have lost $180 whether to sell it or get it fixed that is the price I have lost.
Faulty brand new phone that can't get fixed is not something that you would like to deal with a week after your purchase.
Remember, Market is flooded with Yellow screen Xperia S and Sony doesn't give a darn about it. So watch what you are buying.
Any phone can be blocked by imei number in the uk, pretty much if one network blocks then it gets blocked from all other networks as well. It's supposed to be a deterrent against theft as handsets become bricked pretty quickly.
I upgraded via phones4u as well and got free unlocked phone and 10% line rental discount ...

[Q] Off-contract and Unlocked

I live in Brazil, and a relative of mine is going to the US and I'm eager to get this phone.
I wonder if i can get it off Contract and Unlocked, or just simply off contract since i believe Unlocking it won't take long.
And i'm wondering if it will go for U$500 or close to it.

On Verizon site is clear like cristal, 599 USD off contract

they should, i have bought many a phone from them in store and just told the sales rep to leave it boxed i will activate it at home. did have one try to tell me that they had to activate it before it could leave the store, so i just told them it was a gift. (which that one actually was)
Yes , looks like it is GSM unlocked , but dont forget those phones were all pre release models & the actual ones that come out on 21st may not have GSM Unlocked. I hope it is unlocked though
Only time will tell !

Carrier Unlock your LG Optimus L9 (P769)

Hey guys, I just wanted to put y'all up on something. I found this seller on Ebay that sells unlock codes for around $3.50 US. I bought a code yesterday and he sent it out to me early this morning. He is a UK seller. To enter in the unlock code, all you have to do is put in your SIM that is locked, go to the dialer, type in 2945#*769# instead of the other code that he gives you. Then you go on the first option and type in the code (on the first line) that he gives you.
I just wanted to put y'all up on this so y'all could take advantage of this! $3.50 to get your phone unlocked? Sold! I am one happy customer. I hope this is the right section to put it on. :/

I actually got mine from this ad. A bit cheaper (pennies to some), and response was within 24 hours. Clear instructions, etc.
Keep in mind, this includes a link to Paypal, and doesn't actually register as a purchase on eBay.
Regardless, my L9 is unlocked, so I'm plenty happy.

Heard if you have had the phone more than sixty days you call call LG and get the code for free

@queboy89 legit! Thanks for posting that! It's good to have your phone unlocked, just in case something ever happens and you need to for example, change carriers or move out of the country.
@omgbossis21 hmm. really? I thought manufacturers don't give codes out anymore? That's what I heard from HTC, so I might be wrong. I had to pay $10 for my Sensation code.

Quick update that I didn't mention: T-Mobile will indeed provide SIM unlock codes, provided the device was purchased from a T-Mobile authorized dealer with a valid receipt. I had gotten mine in the Amazon deal, so it wasn't eligible.

So they (tmobile ) changed the way of do things ?
they provided me with the unlock code of a samsung exibith 4g like a year ago, and they havent asked me for any receipt whatsoever
the only constraint was that you need to have a good standing account of at least 90 days active, so they check that with your phonw # in their database and then
they send the request to the "unlocking" department, you get the code via email
in around 24hrs and it worked like a charm for me, now i am planning to get the L9, the 3.5 screen is getting too small as i am getting older :silly:

Bah, sometimes, I need to be careful with my words. I meant authorized dealer as in the actual T-Mobile stores. Amazon is certainly an authorized dealer, but I was ineligible in getting the SIM unlock code from T-Mobile. You have to purchase directly from T-Mobile's brick and mortar stores or website.
I believe that in your case, it would be dependent on whether you get the phone on contract or not. Because the L9 is sold both as a prepaid phone and on contract, there are different rules regarding SIM unlocks. The rules you stated are for the phone if you re-sign your contract and get the phone at the subsidized price. If you choose to purchase the phone outright, whether through the prepaid plan package or for a postpaid plan, then T-Mobile should and will provide the code immediately. It's currently $240 for the phone outright from T-Mobile's website, free if you sign a 2 year agreement, and $179 from Amazon. It's possible the stores are selling the same Amazon prepaid package for a lower price than the outright price listed on the T-Mobile website.
They probably didn't ask you for your receipt because you got your phone as part of a contract renewal/signing, and on a federally subsidized discount. In that case, they prefer to know that you aren't jumping ship from your contract before fully paying for your phone.
Sorry for any confusion I may have caused!

No worries man,
i get my exhibit 4g at bestbuy, and dont had any problems when i called tmobile
, i got mine running CM10.1 much better than stock ROM, but still the exhibith is a low end single core cell
, i want the L9 soon !!
I might be a good idea to specify "carrier unlock" in the subject line (not to be confused with "bootloader unlock").

LOL whoops, my bad bro. Thanks for the advice!
T-Mobile will give you the code for free as long as you had service for 40days. If they have the code on hand you receive it via email in 24hours. Otherwise within 48days. Awaiting my code

I bought one and will post my results. Thanks OP.
Got my code within a few hours. Entered it using the instructions in the OP. (Did not follow the instructions in the sellers email.) It showed it as unlocked. Rebooted and still appears to be unlocked. I don't have a valid micro SIM to test it on another network but it seems to be unlocked. Will report back again after trying a friends micro SIM.
For a few dollars you can't go wrong on this. Thanks OP!

That is sort of what I was going to say, everyone should be able to get the code for free from their carrier. The problem is that some have rules of not giving up the code until after contract or other restrictions.
