Odin got freeze while it was writing a new pda to my phone, i tried rebooting phone and rewriting the pda again or a different pda, it writes successfully however when phone reboots, it shows i9300 logo screen, then either turns off, or freezes at the 2nd Samsung blue logo animation.
I can write and boot to CWM recovery, however i cant wipe or mount /sdcard or /data from there ...
I resorted to re partitioning using a mx.pit file, still same results...
I dont understand if my phone is bricked or not , however i can still write cwm recovery, install a custom rom from it from external sd, but it seems to fail because of the problem of mounting /data and /sdcard ,, please advise !
is it i9003 or i9300 ?

My SGS2 stucks at the reboot logo, SGS2 GT-i9100 >> Logo >> repeating.
I wanted to format my phone cause it was almost full, so i format it, but it doesnt work and i got the same space free.
So i tried to do it manually in Recovery Mode, i formated some stuff, but i formated something like: Format Pre-Load (or something like this) and some more stuff, if im right that was only data/cache etc, and system to.
But now my phone wont reboot....
Help!!!
Phone connects to Odin only, i tried to flash the file i use to rooted my phone again, but i get: FAILED.

Hey guys,
I have a similar problem after attempting a root on my Galasxy i9001T.
I used Odin following the instructions on this thread,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125414, I've gotten as far as using Odin 1.83, using the GT-I9100T_DUKF2_original.tar as my insure kernel. Odin gave me the green light "OK" and I waited for my phone to boot upt.
My phone gets far as the initial "Samsung SII GT-I9100T" and stays there, there was no yellow triangle, which expected from the instructions. The phone recharges and is able to go into recovery mode, but is Odin is having trouble communicating to the phone via USB, it won't establish a connection, so I have a strange feeling that I've bricked my phone and need help to fix the problem if possible.
My phone model and kernel are below, any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I1900T

You should not have formatted preload. Why didn't you just format the internal sd card?? Anyway now you will have to flash official firmware with odin. you can find so many guides on how to do that
...and to format your system wasn't the best idea also

You cleaned everything boy even the Android OS
You just formated your whole phone you deleted your android os. you have to use ODIN to flash rom download some official firmware of some custom rom or if you have cwm download the rom transfer the zip to sd card or internal on your phone and flash it from cwm. And remember if you want to clean up your phone completly Just use factory reset in setting and if you want to delete all files in your internal sd check delete all files. Never format SYSTEM and PRELOAD
Now he's got a clean device alright.
I can just put a custom rom on it?
Using Siyah kernel, Philz, CWM or another? Does this matter?
Otherwise is put a rom on my sdcard and i put my sd in my phone and i flash it.
I putted a rom on my sd, installed it in Recovery Mode and its working again, thx for the support.

You are wrong. If he doesn't tick repartition and doesn't use pit file. His mobile will not be correctly partitioned according to partition table.
Help me too
Help me out.. My friend's ace with this same model too is suffering from the same problem. I was the one who tried to wake it up after the hard brick. I repartitioned and flashed the stock firmware through odin, flash was successful. But the error mounting data appears and the device stucks on bootloop. Also i saw something like unable to move data_recovery_log.
I usually come across mount data errors after flashing stock firmwares in my Galaxy Y duos (s6102) but for us it is known that it would be resolved with a stock data wipe. But that too failed in this case. I am not familiar to the repartitioning things..
Sorry if this is in the wrong section
I was playing a game on my phone and it froze so I turned the phone off and then back on but the phone wouldn't boot past the samsung animation screen, So I tried doing a factory reset / wipe data but this didn't work. I then tried flashing the firmware with oin3 v3.07 but when the phone reset it said E: Failed to mount data (Invalid argument.
So could someone tell me what files I need to download as when I download the 3 firmware it came as a tar.md5 file.

Thank you for your reply :good: When you download odin should it come with a pit file as I don't have one at the moment. I did do a search and it said I need totoro_623.pit but is the correct file for the S5839i as I did see someone say cooperve is needed.

I just downloaded odin from the link and it did have a pit file :good: I have tried again and I still get E: Failed to mount data (Invalid argument. When I'm flashing the firmware do I need the sd and sim card in.
I flashed a different firmware from sammobile and when the phone reset it said E: Failed to mount data (Invalid argument). So when odin said pass I switched the phone off and back on and I didn't have the 3 logo and had a different Samsung logo but the phone wouldn't boot, so I went into download mode and I had installed 5803i firmware I have now installed the 3 firmware but I'm still getting E: Failed to mount data (Invalid argument). So is there something wrong with my hardware.

I downloaded the Australia file and when I extracted it I got four files but the firmware is for the S5830i. So would you know where I can get the S5839i firmware from that has the four files as every firmware I have download has come in a single file. I've searched loads of forums and found that using just the one file want work with odin so you need the four files to flash the S5839i.

Im sure s5830i files work on s5839i. What difference does it make if it turns from s5839i to s5830i?
Just try it. The only difference between the phones are the numbers 0 and 9.

Just download the three app from play store. @Hitesh2626 a service provider.
Everything that happened:
1) I rooted my GT-I9300 using ODIN v3.07 and CWM Recovery
2)I installed zip of Resurrection Remix Kitkat ROM for S3 using CWM
3) I hated it to the core!
4)I flashed the official stock ROM of 4.3 JB using ODIN
5) I realized that USB Debugging was off!
6) My phone gets stuck at the Samsung logo and doesn't even load into recovery mode!
7) It boots into download mode, I flash the 4.1.2 JB ROM for S3 using ODIN
8)The Samsung logo appears, disappears and then again appears! This goes on forever!!
9)This time it boots into Android Recovery and displays the error: E: failed to mount data (Invalid Argument) cant find /data
10) The phone restarts and continues the boot-looping!!
11) I try to restore it with Kies3 using Firmware Upgrade and Initialization
12) It upgrades the firmware to 4.3 JB but the things that happened in NO. 6 continue!
13) I realised its time for the xda people to help me out!!
Things I have:
1) My Bricked Samsung Galaxy S III (International) GT-I9300
2) USB Cable
3) A Windows 7 PC with 2GB RAM
4) An Internet Connection
Can someone please explain what has happened to my phone and what should I do to get it back on stock ROM?
Please help me as I dont want to buy a new phone!
Note: If you have 16 GB of I9300, apply this guide
I think you can restore your device via repartition with a PIT file. I uploaded Odin and PIT file that I use. You can download it from attachments
You should install this ROM via PIT file; http://samsung-updates.com/details/25147/Galaxy_S_3_International/GT-I9300/TUR/I9300XXUGNB6.html
Make sure select PIT file in Odin before installation.
I live in India. Can you suggest an INU or INS rom?
I flashed my phone with PIT file and (INS_I9300XWUGML4_I9300ODDGML4_I9300DDUGMK1) 4.3 JB ROM. No Progress!!

Can you try install with my suggested ROM? If it will success, you can install your country's ROM anyway.
After installing it via PIT file, wait for boot. If it stuck in Samsung logo, remove battery, insert the battery again, boot into recovery and try to wipe data.
I'm saying again; Make sure select PIT file in Odin before installation.
Did you try a wipe data when you flashed second stock ROM?? When you got in recovery

I installed the ROM with the PIT file but still no progress!
A new problem:
1) I went to the Samsung people expecting some help
2) And they did the most cruel thing on this earth!!! They said
"The binary counter says 4. That means you have flashed the ROM customly. This has void the warranty of your device. We cant help you if you have void your warranty. Sorry!"
I'm sorry for posting this here but after about almost a day searching the entire internet for a proper solution, I have given in and have created this thread. So recently I was using my phone and all of a sudden it froze, and after pulling out the battery, it hasn't able to boot. Thinking that it was just another random soft brick, I proceeded to TWRP in order to perform factory reset and wipe data in order to flash a new rom. But unfortunately I keep getting the following errors:
E: Unable to mount '/efs'
E: Unable to mount '/cache'
E: Unable to mount '/system'
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to mount '/preload'
...done
E: Unable to mount storage
I have tried to format through adb but haven't been able to find a proper command, most require the phone to be at least booting. Please can someone help me out, I don't want to lose my data but also want to be able to use the phone again!
The problem is most likely twrp. Flash a clockworkmod recovery from the official website in .tar format. Flash via odin as you would a rom. You could also flash a stock recovery the same way.

Exactly, not only have I tried to install cwm but also tried to upgrade twrp but even through Odin it fails and I get a NAND Write error. Any ideas on how to over come that?
This looks like my problem, but after trying to wipe in recovery, I can no longer boot into recovery at all. Download mode doesn't work either, no Samsung logo is shown, just a completely white screen.

That sounds like your phone got bricked, mine too on the verge of it....
If odin cant see the phone it's pretty much dead as you need odin to flash a stock rom. If you can get it seen by odin just flash a stock rom.

@Deathshead747, the standard way: try to flash a 3part firmware + PIT-file to repartition the internal memory. But probably it's gone
