So I was playing a game and a bug in it totally bricked my galaxy s2. I moved to the optimus g but is there any way to recover my pictures and things?

Not without more info. Also I've never heard nor was I aware of a game that bricks phones. More details please.
so I let my cousin dowload this game from gameloft something about ponies and as I was watching her play, the soundtrack stuttered and the phone powered off (while charging) i tried to power back on and the launcher or media scanner wouldn't work. Next the phone powered off, never to turn back on. Recovery doesn't work and I charged for a full day and still nothing

Changing the battery could help.
Removing the battery for a time could help.
It's probably not bricked.

Never thought of that, thanks!

As the title says, every time I go into Google wallet it says that I need to not NFC on so I go into the settings and attempt to but every time I press it, it checks and then unchecks every time. I AM rooted. But I don't see how that could affect it. Any ideas?

No Google Wallet with root?

Not sure if that might help, but it may steer you in the right direction

Yeah I did see that. But I'm not sure how it would affect my NFC. Thanks for the link though. I didn't flash a rom or factory reset anything.

Did you change batteries? If you did that's why.. the nfc chip is built into the battery
Sent from my SPH-L710
Is it really? I don't see how it's just not turning on.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium.
Yea.... so if you change batteries it won't turn on
Sent from my SPH-L710
I didn't switch batteries though. I tried to flash back to my stock rom from when I first rooted but it's not working.

did u set up google wallet prior to going back to factory?
has nfc worked at all for u like in the past maybe when it was stock?
I set it up, rooted and tried it and it won't work now. Went back to factory image and I can't even access wallet because I can't get nfc to turn on at all. I'm gonna try to unroot and then try it and see
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Lol now after trying to unroot Google wallet says it's not compatible with my country. WTF.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
theres posts referring to this problem. Apparently you're supposed to clear the settings within google wallet before rooting. Google wallet may be permanently bricked on your device
I dont see how google wallet messed my nfc completely up

I heard the metal replacement backs fück with nfc
Do you have one?

I've noticed that my XDA app on the Galaxy S3 (ATT) is eating up alot of battery. Ate almost 40 minutes of CPU. One time when I went into task mananger, it showed high CPU usage and I wasn't even using it for a while (so it was idle). I also noticed this with the Engadget app.
Anyone notice anything similar? Just seems like they should be sleeping and not using CPU in the background...
Try reinstalling them. I haven't had this problem with either :/
See attached. My screen has been on about an hour and xda for 50 min.

And this is it just running in the background.

All I can think of is to reinstall. It shouldn't be doing this obviously
I've uninstalled and reinstalled before those screenshots.

Well no idea then, sorry. You could force stop them when you aren't using them.

i'm having the same issue. att sgs3 completely stock never flashed rooted or odined. my phone also seems to stutter and lag a bit more than i was lead to believe it would but i really only started to notice it after installing xda.
i have been using the xda app quite a bit today but an app doubling the screen in battery drain just seems wrong.
xda app cpu times:
total: 2h30m
foreground: 55m
i'm thinking about flashing the stock firmware odin package....... but i'm also thinking about trading in my blue for a white and i think the obvious lag stutter problem might help me avoid restocking fees.
oh what to do?
so no one else is having this problem? just us two?
I'm having this problem as well. I had 90% when I went to bed. 6 hours or so later when I woke up I had 50% left :/

I have also been having this problem since my s2. You can see in the task manager its running about 10 pct in the background. Never found a way to stop this apart from manually closing the app in its settings or force close.
I have been having the exact same issue with my XDA app. It just sucks the battery, using 20-35% on average. This is very odd as I have never had a problem with the xda app before. This is an app issue, hopefully they will update this.

Yea I'm having the same issue as well

I had xda premium i while back and then they started pushing update and the app wasnt the same ...so i bought tapatalk..no regret what so ever

I also have this problem. I've been manually fcing the app. I assumed it was due to the app trying to serve adds. But I don't really know
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Guys, I've had a little better luck...at least its not killing the CPU total (was above 20% before on idle). I've disabled notifications in the settings and I've also disabled the 2 listeners using AutoRun manager.
Does anyone here who is experiencing xda app battery drain have a rooted device with an ad blocker? I have never had this issue with the xda app and the only thing that has changed other than the phone is not being rooted /ad free. My guess is ads are somehow causing this problem.

Have you tried changing the Settings / Notifications/Receive Notification/How often to check
I put never(or Uncheck Receive Notification) and That helps out allot
For some reason, the time in the notification bar does not update unless I go into the lock screen and come back. Anyone else have this problem? Anything I can do to fix this?

I had to wipe cache. Then it worked. I kept trying to set alarms but they would never go off. Then I notice that the clock wouldn't change unless I unlocked screen.

How do I clear cache... Im not rooted. This really drives me crazy and has made me late a couple of times already. Clock doesn't change until I turn the screen off.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I don't believe this is a Note 2 problem. I noticed today and on numerous occasions in the past 6 months my Thunderbolt has been doing this as well. It'll get stuck at a certain hour and won't update until after I start messing with the phone again.
It might be a network problem my boyfriends iPhone time gets stuck sometimes he's on Verizon if that helps?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Thank you but never mind I'm retarded needed to simply restart it working fine now.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I cleared cache which obviously made me restart the phone and now it's working fine. That was weird. l hope it doesn't happen again.

After root my phone has been lagging on charge is this normal
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Are you using the right usb cable and travel adapter? Rooting should not be causing lag and my guess is it is something else. Did you try rebooting?
This problem has existed since ICS. I guess they didn't bother to fix it. On a better note, I see less "slow charging" messages when using USB.

Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Ok man, I'm not going to answer your question but I am going to point something out to you. "where can I get that at" has an extraneous word in it. You don't need to add "at" to the end of the sentence. The correct sentence is "where can I get that?"
Carry on
Yes cable. Sorry

As the above reads, my phone will shut itself down if I'm playing games or am on the internet. Usually its when I'm on tumblr and have gone waaaay down the pages. I'm running PACman 19.3.0, jellybean 4.1. I'd love to know if there's anything I can do, just short of reflashing to my old CM 9... Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
There could be a lot of things making this happen. It seems to happen more under heavy load as you stated, maybe try another kernel? Are you underclocking/undervolting?
Sent from my GT-i9100 using xda app-developers app
I was thinking it might have something to do with my clock speed. I'm not sure what is a safe speed to move it up to. I'm running at 1100 MHz right now. I think the Max on the scale is 2000. I was also thinking it could be battery related, as the issue does not occur when the phone is charging.
