Relax.......
Please tell us more about the "MOD" you were flashing when the brick occured....
Are you able to pull the battery to power down, then replace the battery and boot to download mode ??.....(sounds like no based on your post. but...battery pull will often help)
If so, you are not bricked, simply jammed up....
If no download mode exists, then a JTAG service may be required...g

Sounds like the battery is fugazi. Charge with factory cable and wall wart, not from a pc or fake charger.

i went to get service the jitag and that did not work , my baby wont even turn on or download mode , at a service repare i was told to take it back on saturday to try some mainframe cable thing , i think i flash the rong kernel and it was not a mod is my rong doing and am going crazy :_( they even put in a new battery and nothing i meen my baby wont even glinsh

Seems like ur motherboard is gone... try ur ext-sdcard on ur pc... if the sd is damaged, u can imagine :'-(

sd card is fine i tried it in other phone

I feel for you, as I've lost one Note already, but take this as a lesson learned, and DO NOT flash anything unless your 100% positive of the outcome.
I took mine into my carrier (telus) and they issued me a new phone because it was in the first 30 days.
Maybe you'll have similar luck.
Cheers

You thought it was an incorrect kernel, what exactly was it you think you flashed? The file name?

My i717 Note wouldn't even power back up sent it to MobileTechVideos order #12879 and five days later got it back safe and sound. I didn't feel comfortable sending it away but these guys are pros. Not only fast but great communication, they let me know as soon as it was fixed and being shipped.:good:

I'm hoping that you made a backup before you flashed the rom. If you did you should be able to boot into recovery and restore.
lol i think thats what i did. I backup everything using Titanium and rom manger on my sdcard. i just dont know how boot into recovery and restore. thanks for the reply
yep bricked...
All you can do now i's try to flash stock rom with kdz..

Here's the stock rom: csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP509BK/ATMOBK/V10l_00/V10L_00.kdz
and you'll need KDZ(run it in compatibility mode if using win7 64bit):
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B99JDF9I
boot phone into emergency mode: Home+Volume Up+Power
connect to PC via USB and flash with KDZ in 3qct +Emergency mode
i cant put my phone in emergency mode

my mistake. it is actually Back Button+Up Volume+Power
still nothing :[
Use it as a vibrator from now on, if u can. Haha j/k.
Go for warranty and see what happens..
lol hmmm i wonder what males can do with that.....
i was thinking about doing that and see if i could pull a fast one on radioshack
You did a nand backup before flashing Megatron, right? If so, you should boot in recovery using Home + Vol Down + Power and restore it from there. If not, you have no alternative but flashing the rom again (or any other rom). Be sure to wipe everything from recovery before that.
If that fails, you should get the official rom for your location and flash it with kdz (there is a very well done guide here on XDA for doing that, search for it).
And consider flashing Void next time, is more stable and has the same features (and more) as Megatron (hwacc, jit, oc, stagefright etc).
In any case, if the phone boots, even if gets stuck on LG splash screen, it is not bricked. It can be re-flashed easily, just follow the steps in the guides.

press and hold down HOME + VOL DOWN while the phone is off, then turn it on, keeping that 2 buttons pressed until recovery appears.
But if you have used rom manager, this won't work. Your only chance to unbrick is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883314
rom manager don't support yet optimus t
The same happened to me when I flashed LOL rom. I was reading that it can sometimes take up to 5 minutes to reach the boot animation. My phone reached the boot animation in 6-7 minutes. How long did you wait before you removed the battery?
thats not working either. all i saw was a bunch of ppl with the same problem and eventually sent it to LG service
ummm like about 3 minutes cause i was freaking out lol. that could be it :/

I was about to pull mine out too after 3-4 minutes. I was freaking out also but had to go to the washroom when this happened. When I came back, the phone booted. If I didn't use the washroom, I would have bricked my phone, lol.
A lot of people have this problem because on the Optimus One it takes forever to load the first time. My samsung vibrant was extremely quick, 1 minute max
as soon as u send to warranty, the faster u get ur usable phone back
or just use it as vibrator

I Think I'm Bricked...

I think I've bricked my Galaxy S II.. I got it yesterday and tried to flash 2.3.5. When I was flashing with Odin, the program went unresponsive and crashed. There was nothing else to do but take out the battery.. I shouldn't have done it, but I did. And now it won't turn on at all. I've tried the 3 button method, for download mode, and a jig from my old i9000. Nothing has worked. The screen wont even turn on. I don't know what to do... Help Please??
you need a jtag.If it wont go into download or recovery its gone.
What do you, Jtag? I've got a usb jig, does that work? Or are they the same thing?
*What do you mean
aren't jigs phone-specific?
Any new info on this? Did jtag worked or whatever. I keep eye on this thread but looks like OP disappeared. Genuinely curious what happened with the phone.
Hmm .. very wierd that phone wont turn on ... i have broken Odin flashes purposedly many times myself but always I can get back into it ...
You could try power drain ... remove battery ... press power on button for 10 seconds (WITHOUT BATTERY IN) ... now put battery back in and try to go into Download mode.
Sorry but i got busy with other stuff but wanted to explain to him about the JTag.Its a special box called a RiffBox JTag and what it does is basically wipes the motherboard/bootloader and in most phones repears the bootloader aswell of a fully bricked phone so it can be put into download mode again letting you re-flash via Odin and thus saving your phone.A little miracle that means no more bricked phones. There doesnt seem to be that many around and to buy they aint cheap at all but if you can find a dealer or a phone shop who has one they can do it for you.For example.I bicked my phone and was going to buy the box on ebay.es imported (in spain there isnt any for sale) for 160euros complete or 140 without cables.Searched this site:
http://www.jtagbox.com/riff-jtag-bo...s-unbrick-bricked-phone-riff-box-owners-list/
and found a shop in Barcelona who did it for me for 35euros plus postage "BARGIN!!!!".If you search youtube and google for RiffboxJtag in your country you should find someone with a unit willing to help out or check the link ive given as it has a list of users worldwide.
EDIT:A jig is not a JTag.A jig will boot your SEMI-BRICKED(phone showing some kind of life ex.classic icon of phone/arrow/computor,menu and back arrow lights work e.t.c.) phone into download mode.A FULLY-BRICKED(dead,no signs of life.wont start.no download, recovery, lights nothing.DEAD!!!) phone needs a JTag
@cooza , Thanks for that explanation and site I even found one near me, that some day might come handy.
I must ask now to further clear my doubts, this riffjtag box, like you said is able to "revive" or "unbrick" _any_ bricked SGS2? No matter how bad is it? Im kinda new around these things and trying to suck up as much info/knowledge possible, before I decide to flash/root/?brick? xD haha ( hope not for last one) my phone.

Hi.As i said before there are semi and hard bricked phones.A semi bricked phone can normally be booted into download mode with the 3 button combo or a jig and your away again. It has the usuall symbol of a phone and a PC with a warning sign in the middle of them.Hard bricked is when the bootloader is damaged and there is basically no return. You got yourself a very expensive paper-weight for the office desk. Its like trying to turn on your phone with no battery in it.Dead, gone and not coming back. Before the Riffbox the only solution was the rubbish bin or maybe change the motherboard(but a few years ago that was an extremely pricey task if possible). Now we have the box.You can screw you phone to the point of no return and still the box will bring it back to life as it wipes the motherboard and in the case of the SGS2 also repears the damaged bootloader which is what boots your phone to start with. One thing to know, and i dont know if it happens to everyone but mine came back with 2.3.3 installed but there was no recovery mode.If this happens all you have to do is re-flash via Odin a more reciente firmware WITHOUT PIT FILE and yourll get recovery mode back at reboot.Obviously youll need to plug in your phone before hand to re-install the drivers.Same with Odin.boot to download, plug in,installs, unplug, then open Odin and flash.
EDIT:yourve got my name there so if something ever happens and you need a hand to re-flash after a jtag just send me a private message. Here to help.

Thank you mate! I am getting my SGS2 this week so ive been doing alot of reading and research about everything. Thanks for your contribution and kind offer to help if ever comes to that. Very appreciated.
No worries mate.truth is its very hard to fully hard-brick an i9100.The main thing to watch out for,and its a mistake that first-time users/flashers have done,is to flash there i9100 phones with i9000 firmware by mistake. An SGS is not an SGS2 and if they are mixed you WILL hard-brick your device. Here on XDA everything is clearly marked and on their right pages so you cant go wrong if you take your time dont rush-in.But just in case you havnt seen it heres the thread:

Hi, dont bother faffing with it mate, if you have only had it a day take it back and tell them it wouldnt boot after an automatic Kies update. If they cant turn it on they wont know you bricked it until it gets back to the factory and to be honest after selling 10 million of these babies they wont even bother checking it out, they'll just put it into spares or straight recondition it.
I did the same thing to my xoom, PC world couldnt turn it on so they just gave me another.

XDA GENIUSES PLEASE HELP! Hard Bricked i9100

Hey guys.
I made a stupid error last night when I tried going from ICS CM9 back to ICS STOCK LPQ.
I forgot to wipe data and just wiped cache and dalvik cache.
The connection broke whilst flashing through ODIN and now I have a blank black screen and the phone won't turn on...((( (It does technically as when I try pressing the on button later on the phone would get hot - meaning its on but BLACK SCREEN)
I have tried taking the battery out for hours and putting it back in...nothing is working.
I don't know what to do...I'm in uni where I have fast wifi. Please help. Any advice would be grateful
EDIT:
Ok.
So usb jig arrived this morning. Ripped it open. Popped my sgsII from charger (fully charged I think!) took battery out - 15 secs
placed battery back in.
Inserted USBJIG. . .
. . .
. . . . BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH
Nothing....Still the same. No screen activity...sad...
only way is either JTAG or Samsung service center right?
I used to have yellow exclamation mark + 4 counts....but they can't see anything so they won't know right?
or did the usbJig work but just the fact that I can't see anything on the screen??
...sad I hated seeing noobs flashing phones improperly and crying when it got softbricked....well even though mine is a straight hardbrick i still feel sad....noob

If you can get into download mode then there is still hope. If you can't then your only option is either warranty repair of Jtag service. If download mode then works then just reflash using Odin.
You flash i9000XXJVU to your i9100 phone? So you need JTAG or do service. Your bootloader is totally dead

yeah sorry not JVU LPQ (I was getting mixed up with firmwares)
Yeah phone not going into download or recovery mode.
I think when I press the power button the phone does turn on but I get nothing but black screen....(the phone warms up)
So shall I order a JTAG to flash? or take it to repair centre?
Will they know I've been flashing this thing to death? Counter is on 4 at the moment..... so worried!

.
Warranty is void with custom rom root or rom counter above zero .
Will they know yes counter is on 4 .
Will they ignore it and put it through as warranty they may but dont count on it .
USB jig would be the starting point .
That fails you could go to warranty repair if thats rejected then pay for JTag repair .

if you have adb maybe you could try:
1. Connecting your device to PC while turned off,
2. CMD > adb devices
* If you see your device connected, proceed with:
adb reboot recovery or adb reboot bootloader
* If you don't see any device connected, try googling for qhsusb_dload driver for your device, and after you install them (and maybe a couple of PC restarts) repeat step 2
3. if you manage to get to recovery, i hope you have your nandroid backup so you could restore them.
my HTC sensation 4G had this situation few days ago, couldn't go to recovery/bootloader, blanked out when turned on and had fever
i fixed it using those steps, i wish i could remember where i got the qhsusb driver thingy from.. i'll let you know when i remember.
edit: it might work on S2, or might not.. i don't know this will help or not, but you could read adb/fastboot/bootloader/android 101, maybe you could get something from there

The bootloader death thing is not 100% true. When I first got my phone, (when there wasn't any rom for it) I tried flashing a I9000 rom. I was so stupid and luckily it didn't break my phone. After the flashing it turned on and stayed on bootlogo.
It was a miracle for me!

Bricked phone

Ok guys so basically I bricked my phone again. Please read through the whole thing before replying anything.
So basically this is what happened:
-I had XperiaTized v7 patched rom flashed, everything working fine
-I tried legend 7 or something and flashed. It was pretty buggy.
-So I flashed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437426&highlight=recovery I flashed the GB one first
-I booted and guess what I still had legend 7.
-So I flashed Froyo recovery which was attached on the same post to see how it was; I was curious and never tried froyo before I heard battery life was quite okay.
-So I booted to find that legend 7 was STILL there. In case you dunno, the recovery zips actually overide CWM so I'm left with the stock recovery.
-So I was like ah wth and I used the file manager provided by legend 7 to delete some useless files on the sd card.
-So I rebooted and to try to flash CWM but it got stuck on the samsung screen. (I actually pressed reboot to recovery on the power menu)
-I panicked and I pressed the home button nothing happened.
-I held the power button to try to restart but same thing happened.
-I removed the batt and went to charge cuz I realised it was quite low after flashing the last 3.
-When I plugged it in the the screen lit up but I was not greeted with the usual power icon.
-I unplugged after a few minutes and tried to boot. The screen lit up a bit but nothing happened. I'm really panicking now. It's quite a new phone. Please help I'm like pulling my hair out now.
PS I know there's a way to get to download using the keys but I don't have cooper.ops cuz all the download links are dodgy. If anyone has the file please let me have it all the roms I have I flashed through CWM.
Help will be greatly appreceated!

Just a quick question. If I do send it to the Samsung Service Centre to get the board replaced, how much will it cost and how long will it take? Sentrax is helping me out with the unbricking but if I really can't do it I'll send it to the service centre

Maybe you will be billed for repair maximum the same price of new ace , if you honest to samsung officer. Or free if you said,bla-bla, sudenly my phone stop working (at the end you get oscar, become movie actor, kidding ).
What? Billed the price of a new ace just to replace the board? Might as well just get a new one!

As I said, if you honest to samsung service center officer that you bricked your phones because installing custom rom make your waranty void.
Imho, price of board wont far from new ace price, because main components phone assembly are lcd, board, battery and casing. You can weight cost of these component.
Hint
Can you enter dowmload mode?Maybe you can use odin and repair it.
Yup that's what I'm couting on.
Unbricked it
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA
ODIN - our mobile GOD.
sorry for stupid question...did u ever wipe ur ace..?

[Q] Galaxy s3 screen bootloop

Hey guys,
I have a galaxy s3 (I9300) and I've had it rooted for some time now. I started using CyanogenMod 10.2 nightlies a few months ago and they've mostly been fine. The odd issue comes up but I've been able to work it out. So, a few hours ago my phone just turned off of its own accord and started to bootloop, but on the "Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-19300" screen, not the CyanogenMod screen (to clarify, this screen comes up first then the cyanogenmod one usually). I've tried booting into recovery (CWM 6) but it just shows the CWM boot logo thing (that cog with the hat) and then loops back to the galaxy s3 page. I've also tried putting it in download mode, and it seems to stay on the warning page longer than it does anywhere else, but it wont let me actually put in it download mode from there.
I had a look around google and saw people have had the same problem, but everything I could find was when people had flashed a new rom/kernel etc. and something had gone wrong in the process. The weird thing about mine is that I haven't changed anything, even downloaded any new apps, for maybe a week, so it's not like something suddenly changed. I also wasn't using it when it started, it was just sitting on the table next to me.
Usually I can work these things out, but I'm stumped here. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Nope, if I press the volume up button to go into it, it just goes back to the bootloop. I'll try the battery thing though, thanks!
Nope, it didnt work, I left it out for maybe half an hour and nothings changed :/ anyone else got any ideas?
SDS thread and BootLoop identical questions posted .
What does Product Code say in download mode .
But if you cannot get to download mode then you need a service centre repair .
looks like u are facing SDA but a bit diffrend than a normal SDS.. mine still can go into download mode with blank product name..
If product name is blank in download mode then you got sudden death, consider a phone as a brick. Nothing will help, including repartitioning.
You need to contact service centre.
I'll check it in a minute, but if it is bricked, will any service center actually help me seeing as it's rooted and all?

AFAIK if it's sudden death then it's not possible to detect root and other modified things, or in other words - nobody has money to prove that you have been using unofficial firmware .

Ahhhh, well that is handy then
In terms of a service centre, will samsung have a list of them somewhere so I can find one near me?
So I contacted samsung and they gave me the link to book into a service centre etc, but I just realised that when I try to go into recovery mode, the CWM recovery logo comes up before going back to bootloop. Is there any way to get rid of that so that my root is completely untraceable?

If you can't flash anything with Odin (stock software) then you're screwed. Eventually you can try to enter recovery and flash "eraser" of recovery, but this requires working recovery... So if you actually can enter recovery then you can also flash anything, which will literally delete everything.
In other case, no, no way. But if you're lucky enough you may break it just by leaving your phone on for some hours in bootloop, haha.

Is there any way to wipe it with magnets or anything? hahah I'm clutching at straws now, but otherwise I'm just left with an expensive paperweight so I'm trying to find anything I can

To be honest think twice before physically crashing your internal memory, as it may void your warranty at all.
I'd try flashing stock firmware through odin, if it doesn't work I'd try flashing anything through recovery. If both of these methods fail just leave your phone in bootloop and hope that it'll automatically destroy everything...
Seriously though, you can either physically destroy internal memory or leave it in bootloop and hope for the best, eventually send them device in current status. Up to you, because you won't have a possibility to do anything else.

If I send it back to them as it is now it'll take them about 20 seconds I reckon before they see the CWM logo, realise its rooted and send it straight back, so I dont know what I'm gonna do hahah
