Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed.
Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, they change two lines in your build.prop file which you could easily edit yourself in seconds and maybe throw a keyboard in there to make it work better. It's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that Google must have overlooked and left blank. Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine ICS to make it all a useful addition and not just a cute novelty. we're calling it: Hybrid Mode, best of both worlds.

camera wont work? what about hw acceleration? and is this based off linaro too?
"Flash a GB kernel" is this referring to terrasilent?
FINALLY!!! I've been waiting for a PA on the 4.0 but I was a bit lazy to port it . Nice job!! Also is it possible to port MIUI? (if you want of course ).
EDIT: I found the rom nice so far however I can't seem to remove the soft keys. Do I have to put a stock framework-res.apk?

i managed to remove them in settings, you have to select them and then unselect them (i know it's a bit iffy)
i don't know if i'll port miui, the yp-g70 build is quite buggy, i was thinking of AOCP...

First of all, how about "Thanks for your work"?
the first line says "using Hanthesolo's linaro rom as a base"
any GB kernel means any GB kernel - terrasilent, klin's, etc.
bugs are the same as linaro ics - my bad, should have made it clearer
I've ported AOCP...anyone interested? it's slightly better than AOKP

I want to commend you (again) on your awesome work. Now, instead of maintaining 4-6 roms at once with different device trees each, I can simply focus on and improve one, providing performance and stability for you guys far faster than I would otherwise, and enabling me to push updates a lot faster.

yeah, since there are no porting-derived bugs, updating the base every so often is definitely easier than building a different rom each time
now if only i could get codename-android to boot we'd have a good variety of roms!
Great Job theraf. Awesome work. So do you and anyone else know what's the difference between Codename:Nebula, Linaro, and this rom? I probably going to start changing roms again at the end of the year, but now I don't know which one to chose lol.

Nebula: stock cm9

Loving the rom. I cannot wait for updates to this. You guys are all very talented and we appreciate your efforts! I managed to get the layout to look nice and used Root App Delete to disable a few system apps that were broken/don't work with player, and it gave it quite a little boost.

keep the requests coming and ill see what I can do
lol @ changelog:
slimmed down (by a lot)
lots will be missing/non-functional
did some other stuff (vague)
My first tip would be to be more clear and explain exactly where your rom differs compared to stock... I often see very vague descriptions and claims regarding roms (tweaks and mods, improved performance).
But I understand you're working on that so I'll wait until things become a bit more clear. Good luck and I'll keep an eye out.

Here you go..
Seems fine. Booted normally. Set up worked fine. In os seemed identical to virtuous
Since i cant tell what you did over virtuous , im just going to restore my nandroid of Virtuous v2 to spare me restoring all my apps and settings
But there you have it. It works.
Edit: I would be willing to do more tests for you today/this weekend, but only if you tell me specifically what changes to look out for
New one is up, see changelog, my site went down so the DL links are in OP
Bad idea to have completely new people to flashing in the general section testing roms you havent at least booted yourself when this unlock is completely half assed and **** can still be dangerous and unrecoverable.
Just sayin.
Actually kind of funny. I don't want to take a chance screwing my Prime up, but please load this into yours and let me know what's happening.

I understand what both of you are saying, I am personally just holding off to see if we can get a bootloader unlock without losing warranty. As for people flashing this I want to make this clear
if you are not comfortable with adb, AND don't enjoy soft bricking you prime don't flash these builds
These are the test builds that I would normally do while creating a ROM

Yea the kernel flashing method is a little different on the prime. Jermaine and Virtuous's current rom have the current one if you arent using it. If you flash it wrong it causes brick #3 which I have recovered from a few times.
Ooh and thanks for the thanks for testing out your first version of the rom

UPDATE
Over the past week and a half I have done a lot of work on this ROM, I have not been updating this because I am working on the kernal flashing issue,
I have also learned to create apps and have been working on an AL60R!THM app to go with the ROM , getting the app working perfectly is the reason for the huge delay. A release is imminent

Updated OP and RC1 Download link is live!
Marko, why isn't this in development instead of general?
FIRST OFF: THIS IS FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS. IF YOU TRY TO INSTALL THIS WITH A LOCKED BOOTLOADER, YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE.
What it is:
(From the Galaxy Nexus Android Development CNA Thread)
Codename Android is a fully open source rom that focuses on speed, usability, and getting every feature that we can get CRAMMED in there :_con: .
Our mission is to spread the Open Source Android love to as many people as possible, and get as many people involved as possible. Along with the rom there will be tutorials to get more people involved and learning how to build android step by step.

What it is not:
I do not claim any thing special about the code other than some simple changes to make it work on the R800x. Either FXP built it (if it's a port) or it's code from CNA/Koush/freexperia or anybody else who has contributed to the CM9/Android repos.
I have made a few changes to the CNA vendor tree to add in a the ability to build zeus, changes to device/semc/msm-7x30-common to allow the semc_ota_from_target_files to work, I changed the libs in (my own) vendor/semc/zeus to be R800x libs and I removed the storefront from the proprietary files list in device/semc/zeus
KeiranFTW's CM9 kernel is recommended, it's included in all the zip files (source)
Now, onto the good stuff.
What Works:
Data
Calls
Wifi
GPS
SMS
Accelerometer
MMS (thanks chrono!)
What Doesn't Work:
ALS (Disabled by Keiran in kernel)
Bluetooth Media Audio (Thanks chrono!)
Video Recording (Thanks Neoandgeo for pointing that one out)
Facebook account syncing (Thanks DoubleByte) -- Note facebook account syncing looks like it's a problem within 4.0.4 framework...
Looks like there's an issue with navigation buttons the the R800x, looking into it.
What Kernel to use:
Use DFK-CM9 kernel (it's included in each zip) so far that seems to have the best balance of battery life & speed.
Anything else that doesn't work, lemme know, I'll add it to the list.
Link to CM9/CNA Files
What's in it:
1) 05/06 "lite" build (what you'd get from building it from scratch)
2) 05/05 "Full" build (added in some necessary apps, like messanger, music from cm9, etc.)
MAKE SURE TO INSTALL OVER A CM9 BUILD, OR HARDWARE KEYS HAVE ISSUES (DO NOT WIPE DATA WHEN INSTALLING)
Steps to do a install:
1) Download & copy to sdcard
2) reboot recovery,
3) MAKE A NANDROID!
4) wipe dalvik/cache
5) install from sdcard.
Thanks to Ridder215215, a complete guide on how to install CM9 (just replace the link in line 2 with the link above)

Nope, I'm gonna make this side-by-side with CM9. (And i'm gonna get started on another one soon if cj360 doesn't beat me to it ) (In fact i'm making the latest CM9 now)
I am sure this has already been asked but am I to assume that as it is based off off CM9 that the touchpads will not work? The only thing holding me back from all the other CM based ROMs is that I heard that touchpads do not work as that is part of the Sony Ericcson framework... Anyway besides that... thank you for the ROM is looks great... also I recognize the wallpaper on the screenshot and I know its a music band but what is the name of the group?

Actually, this one isn't based off CM9. It's as AOSP as possible (no CM9 additions in it )
But yeah, touchpads are still iffy, and the band is Demon Hunter.
This is definitely going in my list of what to try once I can install custom kernels! This looks SO cool!
Pax, without you we r800xers would not have much.. thank you!!!
As always pax, well done sir.
Just to let those who are unaware know, in Advanced Testing in the Settings menu, Spare Parts settings force closes the Settings menu, as does Development settings.
Pax, you said, in your CM9 thread, that the T-Mobile Theme Chooser had been added to the source, right? Do you know if it's working properly, and do you plan on sticking it in CNA, or just in CM9?

Just CM9, it'd take a ton of changes to the framework to implement the theme engine into cna.

+1 regarding the bugs noted. Originally I thought it was because Spare Parts wasn't installed, but it still FCs after Spare Parts is installed.
Is anyone else having a problem with the dictionary calling almost every word misspelled? Swype still detects the right words, but all my words are underlined in red. This is after flashing the newest, didn't stay long enough on the first version to notice.

ICS video :
What is King Kang?King Kang is essentially a hybrid ROM - its a mixture of AOKP, CyanogenMod, and ParanoidAndroid, bringing all their customizations to one rock solid and quick ROM. These numerous features combine to create a blend of features not seen anywhere else before. Make the user interface yours with this ROM. Change the DPI the ROM runs at, tweak the interface to your hearts content, while enjoying great battery life and stability. Never before have these features combined to create a ROM as feature-packed as King Kang. Credits for the features goes directly to the teams responsible - AOKP and CM for their respective work, and ParanoidAndroid for their wonderful DPI on-the-fly modifications. Without these teams, this ROM would not be possible.

Information
Some AOKP features power over the ParanoidAndroid ones. For example, in order to get Tablet UI, you first need to check the "Tablet UI" option in ROM Control, then change it to the desired mode in Paranoid Android, and then reboot.
This ROM began as a creation by DAGr8 for Android 4.0, ICS. It offered a simple AOKP + PA combination.
The ROM is currently being built 100% from source. The "team", a.k.a. people maintaining and adding features from other ROMs is currently myself and DAGr8. Without the other teams though, this ROM would be nothing.

Rules (and I mean it)
1_Please be smart !
some features of aokp over power the pa ones
For instance you cant get into tablet ui without first allowing it inside rom control
Dual Panel view in settings is dependant of ROMControl .
2_Wipe 3 times flash again and report later .
3_IF I can not replicate the bug even if 3 of you have the same one go to rule one , eventually it will solve it self .
4_Error still there ? Logcats or gtfo
5_Please dont answer or trollusers who cant read whats next just poitn them to this thread ..
PLEASE READ :These releases will NOT include ParanoidPreferences.apk . I will not get into details why its not included in the rom.
But , know this : it is NOT warez ....
so any one can upload to his host of choice I will link it in the op..
otherwise yall know where to get the app .
just push it to system/app ( I didnt even had to reboot nor fix permissions but I do recommend it) .

Nice release will check this out for sure, i noticed you used build 40 aokp, is this PAD 1.4 or 1.5a?
Sent from my Note running whatever rom I decided to flash today.
I just popped in to tell you that you are missing 1 "zoom" from the title. This is probably due to a technical limitation, I don't know. It's just my job to inform people on the Internets when they make a small mistake. Larger mistakes are forwarded to my wife.
I've been flash free for almost a week now...enjoying JamieD's Paranoid ROM.
Dangit!
Time to backup on CWM and try this out!

Same here. Default keyboard seems to be full size (recognition-wise) but appearance is single handed - that is why there is a discrepancy between where you press on the keyboard vs the button being triggered (as far as I can tell). Tried GO Keyboard - same thing. The discrepancy increases for buttons on the right.
For people having keyboard problems set DPI in AOKP settings to whatever you like and then reboot. It worked for me.
Omgooooodnesss more aokp!! Thank you!!

Once again..thanks Dev,

Sadly no that is not a feauture for the stock camera found with-in IOSP for now. I generally use 3rd party camera (personally think stock aosp camera sucks) or I am sure there is some xpose out there such as this one.

Hope that helps atleast ^.^
P.S. Alternative camera I use is Camera360 Ultima
Alternatively...

Alright guys i decided to give this a shot and was successful with... getting an EXTERNAL STORAGE STOCK CAMERA
Link: http://prshosting.org/ftp/External_Storage_Camera.zip
Just flash the zip in recovery.
I used the camera before this and the location under gallery -> 3 dots -> details was "/storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera/ and after pushing the new zip (now made to a flashable as seen above) the location of a new picture is "/storage/sdcard1/DCIM/Camera/" You can toggle between storage options by clicking the bottom right icon in the camera, middle settings icon, right settings icon, and selecting storage at the top.
I could not have done this alone. I found a modded version from a Galaxy S2 thread for a CM ROM and tore it apart to figure out what was changed. All credit goes to ivanceci here on XDA. His thread can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139794
I will probably make a thread for this so others on different ROMs can enjoy the option, but since you guys were asking about it I'm delivering it here first

Unless something's changed with Safestrap, you need to be on the mdk firmware to flash anything other than a TouchWiz based ROM. This is AOSP based.

I have used it. While it's relatively stable, there are bugs and features missing so it should be clear to anyone that it's not ready to be used as a daily driver. Making a ROM from it is just silly.

It's not so much features that are missing when compared to stock 4.4.4, it's that there are features that will be added later. It's incomplete and is subject to change a lot within the next few months. If it were me making a ROM, I would at least wait until a stable source is available. That's all I'm saying.

Common dude ....
There is no rule says that I can't make ROMs on say alpha or beta...
Ask my testers how much effort I made on making this....just for nexus5 community ...
Not even for me also ....all nexus 5 sokp users knows I don't have nexus.
Let users enjoy the rom if possible let's help them to solve issues.[emoji6]
Have a nice day

L is very stable IMO. there are a lot of changes coming before final release. A lot of the problems are with non Google apps. But a lot of them are getting out new builds to work with L. Most are problems with ART and new rooting used.
The mods AG made improve the audio of the ROM by a lot IMO. I do have a problem with Wi-Fi not connecting unless static that i Didn't have on L release though. But He'll work it out in time =)
If the app developers are making their apps work on L why not also make mods work on L. But if you cant deal with loss of certain things wait til they are fixed.
