Before this, did you follow the instructions to change the phones ID so you can get a proper response from htcdevs? its a very brickable process so read/follow carefully.

[Q] question on unlocking atrix bl

Hi guys, so I have a stock 2.3 atrix and need some help please. I am trying to unlock the bootloader, I followed the instructions at (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202883) but when i get to step 12 and type in command "fastboot oem unlock" I receive "INFOOEM unlock is not implemented" any help is much appreciated thanks
clearly the unlock is not implemented on your bootloader, maybe if you had a bootloader that it was implemented on it would work. there might be a place to find such a bootloader but i forget where it is.
Are you sure you flashed the unlock sbf? Because the error you're getting is what happens when someone hasn't flashed it yet.
so yea I just got it to work, I just redid all the steps and it worked, thanks for the help

HTC Official Unlock Waiting on device

Unlocked a "relocked" bootloader

I bought used Rezound and figured I'd unlock the bootloader using HTCDev.com
I go through all the steps and at the last part after I enter the token I get this:
Unlocking Bootloader Failed!
Sorry it didn't work out. Here's why:
We're sorry, but it appears your attempt to unlock the bootloader on this device has failed. This could be caused by several factors including simple errors in the entry of the unlock token, problems with your device, or a lack of manufacturer support for the unlocking process. Please see the specific error code listed below, and try again if necessary.
Error Code: 173.
Error Reason: Check Rule Fail with exception.
I noticed the top of the screen on my phone says ***RELOCKED***
Is there not a way to unlock it once its relocked?

no, you can unlock it once it's relocked. Most of us that have taken the OTA by RUUing had to unlock and relock . So, I would go through the process again , just check and double check the steps. I had an issue where it failed 8 straight attemtps and it turned out I was actually copying a space in the code..once I removed the space it went right through.
I made sure I wasn't copying the spaces, tried again and took a screen shot.
Gave same error

It has let me redo the HTC Dec steps with my phone multiple times. I finally figuired out once you get the unlock.bin file you can always reuse it. I do what is stopping you. :/

Yeah I googled the heck out of everything I could think of and searched XDA and found almost nothing.
Guess I'm just lucky

Maybe a dumb question, but your not including "please cut the following " part in it when you submit are you ?
Nope only pasted what I have highlighted in post 3.
Not to mention I have purposely copied them or some stuff out, and get a normal error to the extent of "You're token is to long, or to short" ect.

Sorry, no idea then ..
So wait, where did you get this phone? Is it possible the old owner unlocked it, relocked it, then sold it? If so, anybody know if he will be able to unlock since he probably doesn't have the original key?

That is correct. I had no idea but that's what I realized.
If I can't I'm going to sell this damn thing for a Nexus.
Unlocking Bootloader Failed! 173
I am getting the same error. I just activated the phone yesterday and have tried the process on a PC and a Mac now. Are the token identifiers supposed to change every time? I noticed that every time I type the command fastboot oem get_identifier_token I get a different token. I read some other posts where they were having problems and it ended up being a hardware issue. Any thoughts?

I have unlocked and relocked my phone 2 times now, and got a different token and identifier every time, so it shouldn't matter if he has the original unlock token or not.

but if you want to re-unlock you can re use the same unlock bin file without generating a new token. If you make a new token your bin file is invalidated.

if you've bought a used rezound, that means the person
who sold probably unlocked the phone first.
why not ask that person for the unlocked token he used?

Ah, gotcha .. I had already deleted the first token so didn't have a choice hehe
This is an issue with the website, not the phone. I'm dealing with the same bull****.
I had the same problem. I relocked to get the update and could not unlock. I don't know what the fix is. Fortunately I saved the file from the first time I unlocked and it worked fine.

You know, I don't know if that's sensitive info but you may want to black some of that out just in case since it pertains to your particular device. Probably doesn't matter but I always opt for the safe route since I'm a paranoid android.
EDIT: Looks like HTC fixed the issue and people are getting their unlock codes now.

[Q] Trying to re unlock my bootloader

Hey all,
I have previously unlocked my bootloader on my DNA and I came across a problem so I RUU back to stock after relocking my bootloader of course. Now i want to re unlock my bootloader and it keeps saying successful and it still shows "relocked" in my boot menu. I tried the steps from number 1 til finish and nothing. Is re unlocking the bootloader even possible? If it is can anyone help me please? I've searched and searched and cannot find anything on this issue on the Droid DNA.
Thanks in advance everyone

Did you try re-using the old key you first got it unlocked with?
Yea i did, about 5 times. I even got a new one and still wont work

I'm in the same situation. I have tried the original unlock bin file i had from the first time and also went through the process of resubmitting and getting another one. Even reflashed
the ruu and trying to re-unlock from scratch. Everything went through like normal but my bootloader still says "relocked".
Try a factory reset, re locking bootloader again (do it no matter what the bootloader status is) Then install the RUU, then try unlocking bootloader again. Could just be a permissions error or something. If that doesn't work then maybe the bootloader in the RUU has different functionality and protection compared to the original one you were using.

[Q] Bootloader unlocking tutorial?

I have been looking at the following on the XDA site but the instructions are not that great and I am by no means a noob when it comes to root/unlocking android phones.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36976137#post36976137
I am wondering after I download SuperCID, install it, and run it. Following the tutorial I am suppost to verify I see super CID and 22222 something from the bootloader. The tutorial said nothing about HOW to get into the bootloader.
I did search googlefoo and figured out how to get into the bootloader. You hold the power button and volume button down as well upon phone startup. This is not in his steps and should be because most people might not know that especially with a screenshot.
Does anyone have a screenshot of what I should or shouldnt see or the steps involved to actually unlock the bootloader. His steps are pretty vague. I have also searched youtube for anything relevant but can't find a decent step by step tutorial with helpful screenshots.
Thanks,
Hitman9921

Yes, you get into the bootloader/fastboot by holding volume down button when powering on the phone. Fastboot is then used to verify the SuperCID worked properly (by returning 222222).
The rest of the steps are outlined on htcdev.com. Since you are following the steps on that website, I believe the creator of the Supercid utility didn't feel it necessary or desirable to outline steps steps that are on a different website. The steps on that website should actually be fairly self-explanatory. The steps are provided by HTC, and that website is used to unlock the bootloader for almost all of HTC's phones.

It's supposed to say locked. You haven't unlocked it yet.
Go into bootloader, hit the power button on fastboot.
Now plug it into your computer. Open up a command prompt and run the get cid command. I believe it is "fastboot own getcid" but don't hold me to that.
If it is all twos then go to htcdev and follow their instructions.
