Just thought it would be nice to start a thread to list out any high res boot animations out there. I don't know of any yet, but if you do ... post them here!
Well, It's not custom boot animations but I suppose for whoever wants them, and I guess being the only ones so far it kind of makes it valid. Here's the stock ones. The HTC logo fade in and the Droid eye.
For making my own bootanimation, I have to say I'm having a bit of a hard time. I suppose it's possible the bootanimation executable simple doesn't support PNG images? That would be very unfortunate as JPG tends to look like crap.
How bout bootsound?

from what i understand we can't change boot animations until we get S-Off...could be wrong though

You can change the boot animation while S-ON, but you can't change the splash screen till we get S-OFF. :good:

Does it matter if its in 1080p since the screens are small? I heard that is why the generally don't make TV's in 1080p until after 32" of screen. Supposedly your eyes cannot tell the difference in pixelation.

That's since you sit so far away from your tv, but your phone is less than a foot away.
I can tell the difference between a 1080 and a 720 screen.

The "p" doesn't refer to progressive vs interlaced frames (1080p vs 1080i) it's code. P stands for pointer. 1st number is times it plays, 2nd is pause and then the text is the directory where the .png's are.
I did not even see this thread when I created mine!
Anyways, I inverted the stock ones and took out the verizon droid eyeball and replaced it with beats audio

Been away from XDA for some time...
Here is a couple of DNA testers. Very simple animations. let me know if they work. I do not own a DNA so cannot test them. They are full 1080.. May lock up the device if the GPU cannot handle the image density.

After seeing some photos of the AT&T logo as the Death Star, I decided to make a boot animation to encompass the idea. I found a video on youtube of the Death Star testing its powers. I edited the Death Star to have the AT&T rings around it, and made the planet pink to represent T-mobile. This is a landscape boot, uses the whole screen.

I have 2 ways of putting it on your phone;
1: Non Flashable - Drop in system/media and set permissions to look like this with root explorer
2. Flashable - Put on the root of your SD and boot into clock work recovery and choose flash zip from SD.

my vibrant boots up too fast i can only get halfway through i need to either crop the video or make my phone slower anyone have that video file itself
Nice problem to have! I believe you can speed the frame rate up in the desc.txt located within the bootanimation file. Would be a quick and easy way to fix. Just my 2 cents...

I have a premium [email protected] 12 subscription, however live video is not working due to incompatibilities. will editing the build.prop fix this? I have tried with no success, maybe I am not doing something right, or it's just not possible. Help is appreciated, thanks.

I had same issue with compatibility when trying to watch NBA Gametime on my Toshiba Thrive. I could hear the audio from the video, but no picture... Just black screen.
I emailed the developer by going to the Market, going to the app, and contact developer option... They quickly released a fix and updated the app...

thanks anyway, my question is about [email protected] 12, i have already emailed the developer and their response was crap. i was hoping someone else had the same issue with their amaze and [email protected] 12 and was able to modify it to get the live game video working.
Figured out how to correctly edit the amaze build.prop to get live game video.

Whats the deal with the way Sense4 is cropping the wallpapers? WHats with all the green boxes when I go to crop it? And is there a way to stop sense from blowing cropped photos up and killing the resolution?
I would like to know as-well.. Cropping is funky on this device.
The big green box in the middle is what is gonna show on your home screen.
The two smaller green boxes to the left and right of that middle screen show the entire length of the photo that will be used to cover all of your screens.

Ok, so I'm guessing the reason the picture is being blown up killing the quality means that it isn't the correct resolution for our phones then.

Yep, 1440x1280 is the correct size for our device.
note that if you do have a large enough image, you want to resize that box so that it covers as much of the wallpaper as possible.
And is no sense the broke it is the same one ICS stock as well

Modified boot down fps to 30 from 15 (in /system/customize/cid/default.xml) to get it to work right. Also had to adjust the desc.txt within the down animation to this -

I seem to go thru this every time I come back to Android from iOS and it doesn't seem to have gotten any easier. What are you all doing for wallpapers? The screen on the DNA is so large and so crisp that I don't think I could stand using anything except the maximum resolution for a background.
Is everyone using an app or cropping photos themselves? Any chance of a wallpaper thread like I have seen in the past? Thanks!

Thanks for the link, I also saw a post linking to a bunch of HD walls on another site which included a recommendayion to use PicSpeed to set them without cropping. However I am unable to get PicSpeed to let me use the full photo or make the phone scrolling able. You would think Google or a develop would come up with a single unified app that allows us to make the settings and adjust the backgrounds the way we want to. If it exists I have yet to find it.
