I have a rooted EVO 4G LTE. I was running it stock for a while the camera worked fine no problems what so ever then i did a backup with TWRP then decided to flash the Jellybomb ROM. after i flashed jellybomb camera still worked fine. i got tired of the ROM and did a restore on my stock and now when i try to open the camera it trys to open but closes real fast. I have tried a full wipe and restore again still the same please help! I cant lose one of the best features of this phone.
Try clearing cache for camera in app settings and if that doesn't work you can also try going into recovery and selecting fix permissions

Thanks for your reply. I had already tried clearing the cache in app settings. just did fix permissions in recovery it acted like it wanted to work for a sec then closed.
Odd this was an issue with jb roms but it should have been fixed by now, cm10 has a pretty stable camera as does pa. I have only seen threads of this happening on sense when people were trying to use the newer sense camera app. Have you tried a custom kernel?

I lost 4G after flashing Anthrax v2 Kernel and Warm Mod for ICS, the beta. I got stuck at the HTC screen so I wiped and reflashed the mod that I was using before that Vipermod 2.1.1 with the kernel I was using Anthrax and I could't get wifi or wimax to work. I did a nand restore and still wifi and 4g will not start. WTF?
It doesn't even know their MAC address anymore
4g doesnt work in any ICS rom yet.
Also, download Wimax Key Checker from the market and make sure your keys are still there.
But it still didn't work on Sense. Wifi magically stopped as well. And I can't find the app.
UPDATE: Just found out that ap doesn't work with the EVO 3D
Had the same issue last night and this may sound stupid, but I restarted my phone and all was well.
I am sure you already did this, but I figured I would throw it out there. (I am using steelROM with anthrax.)
Unfortunately, restarting does not fix my issue.
try wiping cache and dalvik again, re-install the kernel again, wipe cache and dalvik one last time for goodness, then boot again, see if re-installing the kernel fixes it.
I've ran across similar problems, usually a reboot might fix, if not, re-installing the kernel usually worked for me
Just reflashed twice. Restarting both. One like you said. And one without wiping anything. Still no wifi or wimax.
Sounds like you lost your wimax keys. Check with this app.

As he said before, doesn't work with the Evo 3D.
try a different rom, i remember flashing a new kernel and my 4g was completely dead. Flashed another rom and it worked again.....lost my apps but nothing titanium backup couldnt help with.
Did a complete data wipe, flashed rom and kernel. All is good. Thanks for the support guys.
Everyone,
I have been running the latest CM10 nightlies for a couple days and love it on my EVO. However, I am having consistent issues with the navigation. I am S-OFF running the latest firmware. I have been flashing the latest CM10 nightly, although I have also tried deck's latest version as well. When flashing, I wipe everything in sight, trying both the superwipe zip and manual wiping, but everytime I install CM10 the Google navigation crashes on me and has weird screen artifacts. I have also tried using the GPS Status app to clear my GPS data to no avail. Does anyone have any other tricks to get nav to work on CM10?
Thanks!
Brian
Well, all I can say is to make sure you have a half decent kernel, and make sure you're using the right gapps. No reason it should crash on you.
actually im in the same boat. had to use waze (not bad at all), just wish it works.

I have the same issue. Eventually I was going to get around to trying a different kernel.
I am running the Kernel from the CM10 build:
3.0.53-dc2c1ebb
[email protected] #1
Mon Dec 3 21:32:25 PST 2012
As for the GAPPS I just installed the latest I could find with the ROM and then downloaded the latest Maps from the market.
Any recommendations on a good kernel to try?
This is a widespread issue for unrooted, stock users. It is documented in several forums, so it does not only affect you or other rooted users.
I am running CM10 12/05 build from IRC and used my Navigation with G maps for 2 straight hours today with no problems.
I am on the kernel it comes with. Before flashing CM10 I update prl, profile and make sure I have a GPS lock on a Sense rom. Then go into TWRP and wipe cache, dalvick, factory reset, and system a couple times each, flash CM10, I'm using the Captain's Gapps from IRC and it works fine for me.
I've never wiped the GPS data stuff or anything like that either.
YMMV though I guess
Naters
Naters,
I haven't tried using the IRC build...do you have a link / instructions on how to get that (and the GAPPS). I will try loading up MeanROM, getting a sense lock, and then switching to that build.
Thanks!

This is the link to get into the IRC channels.
Once you are in the DL link for the rom and Gapps will be at the top of the page.

Let me know how it works for you.

Tried it, some problem unfortunately...I guess this is a YMMV type thing.
BTW, is that IRC channel a good place to get support for CM10? I was hoping to talk with the developers and try to help out with kernel logs or whatever may be useful.

Sorry it didn't work.
No clue why it works for some and not others.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
Working now
I was having a lot of problems with the navigation until looked in the location access menu and selected the GPS source as "Use Internal GPS." It has been running smooth since then. :fingers-crossed: Hopes this helps.
Hi. I havent posted very often here. I really appreciate what all the devs do here! Anyways. I have a brand new HTC One. Unlocked the bootloader through hassoon's all in one toolkit, rooted it with SuperSU, and flashed the kernel called ElementalX. I used all the default settings while setting up ElementalX. Im not sure if my camera stopped working after I flashed all the kernel and everything else, but I am trying to use the camera now, to check out Zoe and just fool around with it, but I cannot get the camera to load. I went to settings>apps>all>camera> and cleared all the data, all the cache, and force stopped. Tried to connect the camera again, no luck, still says cannot connect to camera. I also reboot the phone and no luck still. I just installed nova launcher free edition, so im going to try and switch back to the Sense UI instead of Nova and see if that helps.... anyone experiencing any similar problems? or know of any ideas to fix this???
Thanks again!

Anyone? Any ideas?
Anyways. I reflashed the Kernel. But this time I opted in for the Camera fix option, which I opted out for last time because the installer says you dont need to do the camera fix if on a stock rom, which % am on a stock rom. Well, after it was all done and flashed again, with the camera fix this time, the camera seems to work. So I will reboot it again (the instructions of the kernel say you need to), and see if it still works.
Due to instability issues in the latest nightlies, I clean flashed and reverted back to CM11 milestone 5. After doing this, I haven't been able to get mobile data. Voice and sms work fine, just "mobile network state disconnected" and no data connectivity. Also after flashing back to M5, "Phone" seems to prevent the device from sleeping. In battery stats, the device is always awake, with "Phone" using the majority of the batter.
I've tried re-flashing CM11 M5 multiple times, I've also flashed different modems, and I've also called AT&T to reset my internet connectivity. Nothing has worked thus far. Any suggestions? :good:
UPDATE/SOLUTION:
I got mobile data back by going back to stock, clean flashing AOKP (which works with mobile data), then dirty flash to CM11. Quite unorthodox, probably not the best solution, but it's the only 'fix' that has worked!!
I've tried many other suggestions, such as the "patched" modems & kernels, to no avail. Finally this works, dreams do come true
UPDATE: I tried ODINing back to stop 4.3 ROM, on which data was working again. However, upon flashing back to CM11, data stopped working once again. I tried flashing AOKP, which *did* get data back, so I'm assuming this is a CM11-exclusive problem.
I really don't know how the CM11 data problem persisted even after flashing back to stock and then re-flashing CM11. What could've gone wrong? Anyways, I guess I'm sticking to AOKP for the time being.

Have you got a link to the rom - any issues with Wi-Fi or 3G/Mobile Data? This CM 11 rom I have is awesome but it's a pain that the 3G/Mobile data just doesn't work at all.

Got the 4.3 stock ROM from sammobile then installed the kernel and modem from TWRP recovery - haven't tried a custom ROM yet but I presume it'd work in the same way

Hey if you might try this. Go to settings/device/call and uncheck " Turn off screen during calls" the screen will stay on during calls, or is supposed to. You might test your proximity sensor, here is a link to Galaxy Tools app http://forum.xda-developers.com/not.../app-one-click-hotspot-enabler-menus-t2816159 the download is a zip file so put it on your PC desktop. Just change it to an apk file (bring it up with 7zip or WinRAR and rename it) and in stall on your device. Now click Testing/Phone Info then test the proximity sensor, if ok then something in the rom, if not, the phone screen will not turn on and off during calls.
No issues here
I've been running Pac-Man 4.4.4 pretty much since it was made available.
I haven't had that issue.
Make sure you're wiping everything and not restoring any data. Except maybe texts and like call logs.
normally i dont have issues but its just been with the aosp roms that it wont work right im not sure if i should clear oout my dalvik and everything as well and the reinstall the rom

Yes, when you flash a ROM you should wipe partition and dalvik cache. As well as doing a factory data reset.
Also, are you running the latest version? There was a version during its beta process where that issue did come up. Since pretty much all AOSP ROMs are based on CM11 they'd all exhibit the same issue being that CM11 is upstream.
Good luck
yeah i am running the latest version of it but it just doesnt seem to work properly also would the recovery mess with the ROM at all??

It has been known that some recoveries work better for some roms. I'd check around and see what others may be using. See what the rom developer recommends for flashing the rom . Also maybe try an older more stable version of the rom your running.
Yeah I'd love to but I c can't post on that website
