Hello my fellow xda forum dwellers! I was wondering if any of you fine ladies or gents knew how to get the Beats audio enhancement working in player pro or any other music player?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
From my understanding, it only works in the default music app. I could be wrong, but I had the same question you had and that's all I came up with when I started reading around here.
Get Volume+ from market, enable "beats emulation" in the EQ settings.
if you have either the late revA anthrax kernels (1219 was beast) or late revB anthrax kernels (009 was also beast) then yes you'll have systemwide beats (i think/can sorta hear the amazingness). anything else, i dont think so.
Some ROM's enable Beats by default I think? Well I know MikRunny allows Beats to play through the phone speaker. I am not sure if it plays across all music apps, I just assumed. I haven't ran it for a little while. But as said above, Chad's kernels allowed for a Sound Quality improvement regardless if Beats is in the rom or not.
@gk1984: I tried it a few days but it didn't work well since I'm stock based rom.
@dkdude36: I've been trying to find those kernels but haven't been able to

Just trying to get an idea, what music player is everyone using? Currently I'm using Google Music but I have a new pair of headphones coming in the mail in a few days and want to get the best out of them. Share your thoughts!

Hi there. Let me chime in as well. I am using PlayerPro (paid) and I prefer it due to the interface and skin layout. I tried ProAmp and a bunch of others and they are not my cup of tea. I personally don't like google music interface. I also see not much sense in storing my music in the cloud where I can't access it when I am in the air. I am in the process of getting myself a 64GB sdxc and that will hold everything that I currently have on my Zune. As a side, I wish there were an app that lets you use the GS2 with my zune pass subscription, which lets you store your downloaded music subscription etc to your zune player. Currently you can't play this content on the GS2. I am using Klipsch S4 and they are excellent, and for air travel I may switch them on occasion with my audio-technica noise cancelling ear buds.

The EQ app? Just "Equalizer" from the market. I use it since G-Music sounds flat out of the box.

I think PlayerPro has the best interface/sound combo with PowerAmp a close second. I've paid for both.
PlayerPro is the easiest/most intuitive of any player I've tried. The ability to pick the artist photos is a huge plus in my book.
Also, I own those Klipsch S4 earbuds. They sound great!

I'm maybe thinking of getting this whether I end up using it or not to support the developer. He clearly is in the right direction by focusing on sq first.

Power amp looks better, neutron sounds better.
It has an option for 64bit decoding, its a real audiophiles player.
Read the blurb on the play store.
The dev is really quick to solve any issues too, I was emailing him back and forth when JB was first ported to the S3 about partitions and the path to internal and external storage and he sent me a few test apks. Cool guy.

Power amp is the best, but I use google player, the ram is more challenging, but the power amp is the best adapted to a setting and effects.
Stock player in JellyBean XXDLIB is good with siyah Kernel, you don't need any other player, but the only thing that sucked is that M4a music files downloaded from itunes are not supported in stock XXDLIB Music player.so...
Best Music Player
For me its TTPOD International version pleaseant to my ears using hip-hop eq. im planning to try the other players that are posted here
The best music player for Galaxy S3..? Hmm...
It would depend what device will you use for listening, but...
In general, if you will use STOCK music player, BUT if you'd connect it via this device you should be more or less happy...
Of course, if I'd be you, I'd expand it a little with for example This small add-on
I know that it has some weaknesses, but you know, I looked for something cheap
I've purchased neutron and it does sound better than poweramp.
I hear more instruments, tones I haven't heard before.
All the settings are still confusing, but it already sounds better in default.
I'll still give jet audio and player pro a go sometime soon.
Thanks for the help guys.

This is just a link to this Audio Mod to let people know of it's existence and that it is compatible with the N10. I have used it and I think it is fantastic. Not only is it a very powerful audio tweaking and improvement app it also allows the onboard speakers to gain more volume across the board and not just app specific.
I am just a normal end user so don't bother asking me any questions here, lol.
I just saw this line in the thread "To volunteers, feel free to share V4A in your respective device's forum or anywhere applicable. Link them to download here. Thanks." and I was so impressed with the mod I felt moved to do so.
Amazing audio mod. Had to set it to compatibility mode and everything sounds louder, clearer, and cleaner. (with some fine tuning)

Yep, I am really impressed with it.
It works better than any others I have tried.
@stonebear,
Nice work to share in the N10 forum..
For certain players if it still does not work in Compatibility mode, switch it to Safe mode and without a doubt it should work.
Don't understand it but it works.
Is it safe to use?
LE I mean in the long term for the speakers

As with any audio mod, or mods in general for that matter, you experiment at your own risk. I'm not saying that using this is "dangerous" by any means, but everyone knows higher volume and bass can cause damage if you're not careful. However, it should be common sense to determine how loud is too loud for your external speakers to handle.
99% of the time I use a good pair of studio quality headphones with my tablet for any music or videos so its not an issue for me.
Just wondering how you set this up?
I installed the FX version, installed the APK, chose A9/15 with neon. When I go into driver status, even after reboot it says:
Neon enabled: Yes
Enabled: No
Status: Normal
Processing:No
I can tell it's doing something when I'm listening to a song and flip the equalizer on and off, not sure if that's it though.

Simple. You can install both. Freeze either one of them using titanium or run both together.

With any audio playing app you must always disable the apps audio features such as built in equalizers. With MX Player: Settings->Audio and un-check Volume Boost. That is how my MX Player audio settings are and it works perfectly with V4A.

I don't believe those settings are where your problem resides but here are my settings anyway.
Settings->Decoder
- All HW items check except "HW+ decoder (10 bit)"
- No software or any other items checked on the Decoder settings panel
Settings->Audio
- The only settings that are checked are the two Fade settings and System volume panel
My last suggestion is to go the main V4A XDA thread and search on MX Player. That is how I confirmed which settings you need to make V4A and MX Player compatible.

I believe Beats Audio itself is actually a kernel feature.. If it couldn't be directly ported over in it's truest form then you have other options like "Awesome Beats" something like that which I believe is a port of Beats Audio..

AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING LIKE BEATS AMPLIFIER. Amplifiers that inside One, mini and max are produced by NXP and customized by HTC sound engineers.
