Do they let you buy it and what state? Would prefer to buy it online to save on tax but WireFly price is higher than Verizon and Amazon doesn't carry it yet.

I called my local store and asked if they would be getting them in this week. The girl said that they were only taking pre-orders on it, and then put me on hold for about 5 minutes, after which she told me that they were launching tomorrow (Wednesday). I then made an appointment at 10:30 to get mine! I asked if they already had them in stock and she then checked this and said that they had 3 on hand.
If all goes well, I will have mine at about 11:00 tomorrow, but I have this feeling that I will be disappointed at the last minute (something won't go right and I will end up walking out empty handed and pissed off).

I am in a pretty small market here. I was concerned about the possibility that they wouldn't have many, so I was trying to get an early appointment on Thursday. I never expected that they would tell me that launch was on Wednesday. I honestly think they are mistaken, and that the they won't be able to activate the phone or something (or won't be able to sell it to me).

I'd think it will be possible to activate it. Reviewers etc already have a while ago, and I doubt they did anything special to only let them activate it, since they seem to always have pretty good control over when people get the phones anyways. You might get lucky.

I think they've been plenty annoyed with me already asking when the launch date is and if they can reserve one for me (I can't pre-order and keep my Alltel phone online), so maybe they'll just shove one my way early. I called last morning and they said they were "getting them in" today. Whether or not they're available for purchase remains to be seen.
Update: They won't sell them today; going to have to wait until tomorrow.

As I expected, I got shot down when I showed up for my appointment. They got the dates mixed up so I wasted 45 minutes of my day.
I set up another appointment for when they open at 10 am Thursday.

Does anyone know how the release at the Sprint stores works? I went in yesterday to see where I am on the list and they said they could see my preorder, but they had no way of checking priority. This seems strange to me. They said they had about 90 people on the list, which also blew me away. Apparently I am supposed to show up as early as possible on the 24th (they are opening at 8am that day). This would mean that it's first come first serve on release day (as long as your name is on the list)??
Apparently they got about 45 Epics last year and had 140 preorders. Let's hope the E3D is more plentiful.
Maybe I should try to find a less popular store ????

I dont think they can do that but what i got out of what the guy told me is that someone who preordered can do what you are saying.....so if they have 150 phones and 200 people preordered and you dont show up till the next day.......good luck basically lol
Basically the pre order works like this....once the pre order period ends...they get exactly the amount of evo3Ds to fill their order plus some extras for the slow ones who think they could juss walk up and get one...soo u dont have to wait in line...as long as ur name is on the list...but they will hold one for u untill 48 hrs...

You have to remember Sprint has already said there will be NO SHORTAGE of EVO 3D'S so everyone is thinking like when the evo came out and it is just not going to be that way.

I hope that's true. I still find it hard to believe that they have 90 preorders for a phone that was kept secret for so long. I am not sleeping on the sidewalk or anything but I will stop in on my way to work. We'll find out in 2 weeks.

Best Buy will call you 2 days prior to make an appt to come in so no line waiting. The pre-order is good until Monday morning. Since Friday 24th is my anniversary, I'm getting it first thing Saturday.

I left the sprint store with the same impression..I asked him if I pre ordered there that i would def get my phone on launch day and he was Luke "if your here before we run out' so I was thinking what's the point of the pre order if that's the case..I never have pre ordered b4 so I'm not sure how it works..but I had a hard time getting my 4g even months after itaunched..it seemed like stores would get like 5 at a time and unless u walked in at the right time you were sol.

apparently the girl at the sprint store in NJ where i go said i was the 2nd person there
what is weird, is that they did not require me to put any money down as a preorder, she just put me on their list
she also told me that i was guaranteed that phone if i come to pick it up that day (which i will)
i am going to call them tomorrow again to verify with another employee....
I got my evo on the first day of launch without a pre order.. literally just walked up and got it. no line... then the evo just exploded like 2 days after., once people saw it and their geeky friends were showing it off.
this time from what i keep reading, sprint wont have a shortage. just walk up and buy it. i plan on doing the same.

I was told that they call the number of people based on the phones they have. 50 phones, 50 calls to the first on the list. They said that once you receive the call you get 24 hours to come pick it up.

With Best Buy Mobile pre-orders, you will receive one email when you place the pre-order, and another on the day it is available for pick up (in this case, the 19th.) Then head on down to your store and pick up the phone! Make sure you grab the Geek Squad Black Tie Protection, and at least give the Buy Back program some consideration.

Does your order status from BB say that the case and phone are backordered? I hope I didn't preorder it too late to where I'll be delayed in receiving mine longer than the earlier orders.

Sometimes our computers show two dates. One is listed as an in-stock date, and the other is listed as a street date. This is commonly set to prevent someone from selling a phone/game/anything earlier than intended by the manufacturer.

I was just wondering if the other BB preorders are currently showing the same backordered status as mine is. There's about a one-week window where people have been placing their orders (my order being on the latter end), so it's not out of the question that BB has ran out of their allotment for their initial shipments.
I can also understand how since these are preorders (and therefore not in stock), that BB would therefore indicate the status of the item as on backorder until they're allowed to ship them out on or around the 17th.
Either way, I'm fine with whatever the outcome is and am not expecting any magical early shipment.

I wasn't responding to your post and I wasn't being sarcastic. BB and AT&T made it pretty clear when the phone would be shipped/sold. I wouldn't expect any email after the order confirmation until it ships or is canceled from lack of funds.
It actually isn't unheard of for preorders to ship/arrive a day or two early.

Called my BB Mobile store where I'd pre-ordered. They had received them but were adamant about Sunday hard sell date
I called Thursday, nothing, I called today, nothing. I went into the store tonight and they had a dummy one sitting out, first time I picked one up, felt good in the hands. My BB said they believe they will have them Sunday,
I called three best buys around the Chicago Land area and they each had only 2 white galaxy notes...did not ask for the blue. The 3 stores included the 1 that i placed my preorder at. I asked if i could pick it up but they said no that the phone will be released on sunday and to be there when the store opens.
My best buy has notes in. Went in to pick them up, but the rep had no idea what he was doing. He walked around the store for a good 30 minutes and came back and told us that they aren't releasing them until Sunday.

I wouldn't believe it. This is a HARD street date. If any of either sku get sold before Sunday it'll show up on the daily report and we get fined. I wouldn't count on finding someone dumb enough to break street nor would I want them losing their job because I'm impatient

I just called 611 and of course they said they didn't have any black units in stock and they do not know when they will. But he took a preorder for me. $199 for the 32gb. At first he wanted to charge me 299 but after some pushback he is getting a manger to override. (just say that others have told you they have ordered it for 199) I think/hope it'll be faster than Walmart or Costco. So if you want to hold out for black get your preorder in and let's keep our order status in this thread. As soon as I get an email I'll keep you posted with status and all that.

No in fact they messed up the order and I just got off the phone with them again and they replaced the order. They upgraded me to overnight shipping. We will see when it arrives. I would be very satisfied if it showed up before next Friday just hope we can still unlock the bootloader by then.

Well if what Engadget posted is true then we are still weeks away from a black one

Well I'm hoping that they are wrong about HTC stopping the unlocking of bootloaders and I hope they are wrong or I'm an exception :fingers-crossed:

I think she was mistaken because she said that my phone will be over nighted and probably show up before my case status will be on the website. I really hope she wasn't but I'm doubtful
Hm... guys need a lil help here. I called called 611 and lady told me they can't pre-order the black one. The only pre order which they had was on the silver one which is now in store. Any idea?
I just ordered mine about an hour ago in Black 64GB and the rep said it should ship out next Tuesday. Now I am starting to wonder if I should just cancel and get the silver one instead.

I had the same on my order on Friday and a few hours later it switched to processing from back order so hopefully I will get it soon.

It's been up since pre-order. A few weeks ago I just substituted "Glacier-silver" with "stealth-black" in the url and it brought it up. Tried various area codes and all say not yet available.

Anyone else preorder from Best Buy?
They sent me an email saying I can come in tomorrow, but it seems like only the wireless charger is in stock. No updates on the actual phone.
I received an email as well however mine makes mention of the phone and nothing of the wireless charger lol
The phones and chargers are there, I work for best buy everyone got their stock today worst case they will be unboxing it when you get there.

Does it vary store by store? If you look at the Check Shipping and Availability option, some stores have:
"Pre-Order Now
Pick up 04/10/2015"
and most others just say "Unavailable"
It depends if the stores processed the check in. Some wont have it done until the morning. Once the sku is in the system it auto emails the pre order customers.
Since you work for BB, can you tell me what I should do if my phone has the scratched screen issue? Will they let me have another one right away?

I love how everyone is trying to narrow it down to the minute I know we're all stoked, but come on now guys. Just give the store a call every now and then after they open to find out when it will be available. worst case scenario is you get it 2 hours after they have it available.
Everyone enjoy their phones, and check for those scratches!
Went this morning, said mine didn't arrive that day and they couldn't give me an ETA.
Cancelled and went to AT&T store. Complete waste of my time, chance at a free wireless charger did not make it worth it.
My BB didn't even get 1 single Edge in today!?!?! What is that? May just cancel and grab one from AT&T. Kinda amazed myself.

Lol. This is my exact experience. They didn't have my 64GB Edge on ATT so I got my $50 back and walked to ATT. Not only did they have the Edge, they had it in 64 and white. My exact preorder. Super happy. No scratches !!!!

the best buy manager called me in the morning saying they got their shipment late but would arrive 1-3pm. He called again later when the shipment arrived and I made an appointment.
It took a while to actually get the phone once I was in the store because of some computer glitches, but I have mine! and I am happy.
