Is 16GB space enough for Xperia P users - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

The things is, review says that it only has 13GB user available memory. Is this enough?
I use this to play games, music, photos and software mostly. will it be enough?
If I install a custom rom, will there be more space?

Hell yeah custom rom doesn't affect much memory

Yeah I think if you have an unlocked bootloAder you can have the whole 16gb, the space is sufficient for me, because I dont really put much on my phone, just music, pics, and apps

it's Far enough I only suse 3Gbs

i have an xperia S, never used more than 7GBs (and i reached this only by shooting 1 hour of 1080p video)
i think that whenever you have 4-5GBs, you are fine if you are careful

Also cloud is the new generation do no cares about space when you have dropbox

Its enough unless you have LOTS of music and videos

Storage left after ROM Flashing?

If you flash ROMs to the 3d, on average how much storage is left out of the 4gb?
I know it depends on the ROM but just wanted to know?

Well yeah for apps and storage you have 1GB but if you flash ROM couldn't you change that limitation?

1GB of the 4GB is user data. We don't have 4gb lol

I'm using viper rom and I have around 781 meg free. I dont think it really affected anything.
What is the 3GB even used for, anyway?
The OS can't possibly take up that much space.

Think about it - The Evo 4G had Android 2.3.4, sense 2.3 or something like that and it only used 750 MB of the 1GB.
Imo there is absolutely no way sense uses 3 gb of space..but I can't explain where the Hell it is unless its partitioned for something else..I feel a little duped about that ..they clearly advertised 4gb..but thank god for SD cards
Its probably saved for future updates.

RAM deficit

I have owned many 1gb android devices. However, the note is the only one that shows no more than 200mb of free storage no matter what I do. Where is all this memory going? High res screen? ICS?

app to sd card?

how do we get this done?
By searching and or reading

Try the app Directory Bind. You'll find it on the forums.
I believe the latest Rom toolbox can do it. Apps2sd can't do it right now

what's the point of putting apps to sd card nowadays? this was only relevant during the G1 days.
i play a lot of games on my phone. gameloft especially have them big files that is needed to play.
And 16GB is not enough?

Yep. Really don't know why Samsung has done this. Directory Bind is a good workaround, though.
lol, i thought it would be too!
turns out its this lucky patcher i am using that is telling lies that i ran out of space.
Lucky patcher = always bad news
so don't ever use it anymore?
i noticed my phone is running on edge instead of a 3/4g data network. the only thing i ever did to my phone was root it, i didn't use any roms from here. i was able to put the original back thru odin, and my phone no longer says modified. but my data is still the same and my imei info is still gone.
anybody else experience this? oh and i did do a nandroid backup after i had rooted it. i restored it but it still wouldn't change my data or imei issue. i also checked my counter and it says custom binary (1 counts)...does that mean i am screwed? everything else in that line reads samsung or official tho. and at the very top is odin in red.

Look for "GL to SD" on the play store. It moves most of the content of gameloft games to SD.

[Q] What is the available phone memory for you?

Hello
I just got the LG Optimus G AT&T, I thought the specification for phone memory is 16 GB, but it only has about 11 GB available to start with?
Is that correct? Just want to confirm.
Thank you,
YYW

WTF is in there? How can it possibly take up that much memory? That's more than a complete Windows 7 install including Office 2010 Pro Plus!

The system partition is 1.4GBs alone but there are a couple of other partitions that vary in size. A lot of the reserved space is unused.

Can it be reclaimed or do you know if there is a valid reason for the unused, reserved space? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Not sure. I guess technically speaking Yes is could be reclaimed but I doubt it would happen. When CM 10 came out for the Captivate they kept tweaking the partition layout because at first they allowed too much space and then they changed it again to allow less space. The big problem is when they kept changing it, it would wipe the whole device including internal SD. We may see a new partition layout when CM 10.1 comes out but again I doubt it. If you download SD Maid and click Advanced on the first screen you can see a list of locations and the allotted storage for each (see screenshot).

Depends on what you install. Mine was like 9 gigs.
The storage device won't have 16GB of space anyway, not after it's formatted. You get 14.7GB. Then the stock ROM is about 1.2GB -- before installing it on the drive. The OS gets a partition of several gigabytes to reserve space and keep knuckleheads from stuffing the drive with crap.
The AT&T version comes with a blank 16GB SD card pre-installed, in addition to the 16GB of internal storage. If that's not enough space, you can buy a 64GB SD card separately.
Is that the biggest memory card you can use in OG, 64GB?
yep. havent tried a 128gb one (if they exist) but with 64gb it works fine and it's the max specified in specs.

o_o; Do people really need all that space..? I think the ~27-32 is fantastic. Hell, I was fine with 8 on my Inspire 4g. Now people are talking about 128gb? Ya'll are nuts..
Be glad you get that much. the AT&T One X only had 9.7 GB free out of the box. HTC/AT&T used up almost HALF of the storage.
