Hello,
I'm searching a few "protecting" apps =).
To protect my device of course .
I saw on the market that there are alot of anti-virusses such as : Dr.Web,AVG,...
I thought I might use AVG but I saw alot of comments about this prob : "aaargh crap app wont get deleted aainbqekbogeb" and so on.
Thus I didnt install it but Dr.Web seems to be OK.
BUT there is a paid version should I buy it or not?
(Personally I used AVG : horrible =( It was a pain to uninstall it !)
Thus can someone please tell me which ANTI-VIRUS is good?
Also I'm searching for some handy widget such as : Battery indicators,ETC...
Sorry for all this but I'm new to all that Android...
Also I have an AppMarket but an old one...So I'm searching for a GOOD appmarket !
Please replie !!
Thanks for reading and helping .
You may try this NetQin Mobile Security (Anti Virus)

Hey People,
as I am no Developer and have absolutely no knowledge in programming/hacking I am really adicted to the Stuff the Dev´s deliver here. I can not count how many great Roms have been on my Ace the last weeks, but if I had a Dollar for each...
Parallel I was always trying the stock Roms. Now, today, I finally found a config that really made me happy ! Speedy, stable, daily useable and with a lot of stuff in it. Maybe some of the humans here (not godlike Devs ) are interested as it is really easy and you need no knowledge about anything on the other side of the Touchscreen ;-)
First, Credits go to all the DEVELOPERS out there who made this hard, smart and beautiful work. Without them, the Ace would just be a "I would love to be an iPhone but I failed..." Project ;-)
I will not tell you where to get the files but here is a hint : you find them all HERE in the wonderful XDA Forum
Ok, here I go, remember, anything you do ... do it on your own risk, don´t blame me or any of the People around, it´s just YOU !!! And read the Tutorials !!
I started with a stock Rom, xxkph, this is Gingerbread 2.3.4 then I downloaded the "Deodex and Root" Stuff from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118048
Now I flashed the CF-Root (File and tut can be found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158197)
And finally this new piece of amazing stuff from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336240
That´s it, now you have a great Ace, really, it runs like hell !!!
Add the Miui Launcher (QQ I think) and some other nice tools like xperia reboot options, Fancy Widgets, Android Agenda Widget, GTasks, Google Translator, XDA APP OF COURSE ;-) Friendcaster ( you can also use the stock SNS Stuff for some things) ES File Explorer which is free and has Options for Root access ! and, Titanium Backup, a great tool !
Once again, thanks to all the Devs and Programmers out there who are providing so very fantastic stuff to us !!!
Greetings
even after all that,it still a stock rom ,a aosp base rom is defenetively better

It sure is but that wasn't the Point :-D with all this doing by yourself you're learning by doing a bit I think and some people may like the stock stuff included. Plus the duration of the Battery maybe.
And they will be able to delete what they don't like by themselves using Es

hi people, maybe you know it maybe not but as soon as i discovered it i wanted to share it with u!! a few days ago reading general threads of xda page ,not this specific for minis, i read there is an app called Box for massive storage on the cloud which has access too from the computer, like the well known dropbox... but this thread i read said that instead of having only 2 or 5 gb of storage as its common with this apps if u are owner of xperia phone Box gives u 50gb!!!
as soon. as i read those wonderful news i looked for this app in market but i couldnt find it,so i looked for it with the computer and it said our x10 mini is not compatible, so i managed to look an apk of this wonderful app anf check if its compatible or not (here i must say i dont know if i can say where i downloaded the app because despite i think the original one is free app i dont want to mention any page or spam which can. goes against the rules of this cool page xda ).
the fact is that i coul install the apk in my mini!! when u have it installed u just have to register introducing an email and password, after that it will recognise ur phone as se xperia and automatically will upgrade ur storage from 5 to 50 gb!!! amazing!! isnt it?
once more we are fortunate of being owners of this wonderful phone!!
oh!! to access your account from computer u have to go to www.box.net and then login with same data of registration u did previously.
i remember the name of the app... BOX... look for it in market, i couldnt dwonloaded it from there, if u cant just look for it on the web, ull find it!!
i hope u can enjoy soon ur 50 gb account!!
if i was helpful say thx if u want!
A good place to get the app from is this thread here:

ohh!! good job!! man!! I didn't know exactly how is the policy about sharing apps or apks, and I didn't want to break any rule, just sharing my good experience with Box.
So people, you now have the app thanks to ticklefish and the instructions... those who don't have this big amount of storage yet go for it!
Hi All,
This is my first ever post in this section. I have searched a lot and find a nice software application to be used as a PC suite.
I know many people are addicted to the PC suite and this software is only for the lovers of PC suite.
What this software can do? Here we go for a quick list:
1.Sync Files
2.Image preview of the mobile pics in PC.
3.App management
4.Call logs
5.Messaging (able to send/read msgs,backup)
6.Can change wallpaper with a click.
7.Contacts Management
8.Can take screenshot (Still as well as video)
9.File Management.
And a lot more features......
So go ahead and give it a try.
I am not taking any sort of credit for it, I have found something important and just sharing with you all.
I would like to thanks to MOBO team the developer of this application.
Here is the link........
Enjoy.......
Press Thanks if the above post helped
Thanks for this. Really needed it. Every time I found any pc suite it was basically paid or trial version. I guess mobo is completely free as far as I have used it lately.
Yes it is absolutely free and also the version is beta 1.
May be they will make it paid in future.
But being time it is working nice....

Looks nice, but the App on Android is in Chinese or wathever and I couldn't read any Data on the phone.
Another App is MyPhoneExplorer. It's free and stable, has the same functions as MoboRobo but not that nice Interface.

Hello!
Long time reader, first time poster here..
I know it exists such ROM for others devices, but I'd like to know if such a ROM, without any phone/3G, could be a viable option for the Optimus One. I'm not using this phone but my daughter, a 4 years old, likes it a lot to play some game, watching video, playing with camera..Disabling some unused hardware could improve battery life as well as performance. And, as phones are becoming more and more performant, older devices will be wasted. But if they can be recycled into such devices, I'm sure that kids would love them, and parents wont be affraid about them dialing 911 for fun...
I'm not a developper, But if there is one who is tempted into doing such thing, I'll be gratefull to try it.
Thanks

Its pretty easy to do it .. all you have to do is root your phone , install titanium backup ... change filter to system/not-backedup .. then remove the following apps from the phone:-
1.dialler.apk ( dial pad+ network manger)
2.dialler storage.apk ( call log)
3.mms.apk ( sms app)
4.messaging.apk ( storage and settings fr sms )
Rebpot ur phone .. and voila .. u will not have any network cause the network module stops working .. battery life extended by more or less an hour on heavy usage
The phone will still be able to connect to wi-fi , access play store and do all other normal stuff
PS1:- Be sure to flash a stable rom on the phone .. if you are aiming for gaming , video and music ... i would recomend G-T-R by neko95 ... its good and has lots of tweaks for gaming and video .. + its super smpoth and snappy
PS2:- Contacts.apk ( contact book app ) is an optional removal .. in my opinin .. dont remove it .. let it be .. feed some emergency and important numbers that ur kid can contact to if she needs help or is in trouble
PS3:- No need to change any hardware .. removing the apps i mentioned earlier will disable the hardware parts easily ..
pls hit thanks to show gratitude fr help

So, I don't have to recompile the whole thing. The phone is already rooted and I will the ROM you advised me. I will then do the mod.
Thanks!
