All right here is the Issue I have a Droid X2 that got flashed with a Milestone X2 2.3.6 sbf thinking it was for Droid X2. Since then I rooted it and tried using the Atrix 4g System Recovery and i can not get it to load to try and put a Droid X2 rom on. Root checker says it is rooted. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405077 is what i used to root it since the One click ones did not work. I used the Motorola rsd Lite newest one i could find and updated drivers to load os since System Recovery app did not work. But get a error code 0x703e. I have been working on this for over week with no luck. I have rooted it before to run CM7 but i wanted to run different rom and ended up getting in to this mess. Any help would greatly be appreciated thanks so much.
update: BootStrap i install and restart with phone plug in to outlet and it reboots but stuck at Moto icon Dual Core boot screen.
update: i can reboot not reboot into os
try wiping cache or data
if phone reboots correct, try redownloading dx2 bootstrap
if that does not get phone to reboot
you need to flash sbf again

if you have try several of the dx2 sbfs, and no luck
you can try flashing the boot.img
you should have moto-fastboot.exe
place them in same folder I used c:root
boot phone to fastboot
open command prompt
cd/
cd c:root
moto-fastboot.exe flash boot.img
moto-fastboot.exe reboot
phone likely still won't boot up, but you should be able to flash a sbf.

I believe it is a problem with your controller manager kernel. This can occur because of a problem with the remote connections with the driver files. Try flashing your ROM STOCK then do root and then try to apply the kernel
Sorry guys I've been away for a while so I've kinda had to put this on the back burner. but I'm back now
@daydu19

Code:

but no joy
EDIT: I can't unlock my phone with testpoint because of the new securities, my phone is "12W27" :/
@mihahn
I'm not quite sure how I unlocked it I tried several ways, testpoint & sony, the weird thing is that I didn't think that either of them worked but I'm able to flash FTF files with flashtool and also Flashtool says that my bootloader is already unlocked...
Code:
Loader : S1_Loader_Root_773f - Version : R4A066 / Bootloader status : ROOTED
And lastly
Have you checked *#*#7378423#*#* and then Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, it's another problem...

@xdevilium
Thanks, I'll try this out and let you know if that helps
EDIT: Nope, doesn't work either
@eltonpestana
I've flashed my device multiple times back to stock to 2.3.4 and 4.0.4, they're FTF files that I found on here but that was the only way I managed to get my phone to work again, When I tried flashing the kernels through fastboot, it came up the errors I mentioned and by so Bricked my phone...
The one thing I haven't tried yet is to use Sony PC companion to "reset" my phone (mainly due to my painfully slow internet connection) but I'm not sure that will do much good seeing as it will restore it to 4.0.4 making it impossible to root and I'll end up having to flash the other FTF again.. no?
is it possible to download a custom kernel as a FTF file and then flash it rather than going through fastboot?
because I can flash the stock kernels (that are in the FTF files) that I got
Worst case scenario are there any good ICS ROMS that will work with the stock kernel?
Try flashing stock ftf and then it should get work done.

I wonder can anyone help me with this? I recently unlocked my bootloader (with wotanserver.com - test point method) and have since been trying out new kernels.
Unfortunately, I've had some problems with Sirkay's Advanced Stock .587 Kernel when I flash it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544513
I followed his flashing with flashtool instructions (standard procedure). My phone appears to boot up as normal at first, (the kernel's preinstalled CWM recovery works too) but after the initial boot logo & brightening screen that indicates CWM is present - the screen then just goes black with white LED on (with screen backlight v. slightly on) and nothing else happens, i.e. the phone is well and truly stuck.
The end result is that I have to flash back to the kernel I was previously using. There's nothing in the Flashtool log to suggest any problem with the flashing either, and there's been no problem flashing any .img or .sin files until now - so I assume I have all the correct drivers etc.
Am I overlooking something obvious here? Would be very glad to someone's opinion, this is driving me nuts!

But first you can try following in your terminal emulator:
Type SU and hit Enter, it should ask you for Root permissions, grant them and after that you should be able to restore CID using dd !
IF DOESNT WORK TRY THIS
Reboot your phone in AP fastboot
First i've flashed following
fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin (i took this file from Chinese JB ROM)
than after that i've rebooted to bootloader
fastboot reboot-bootloader
than i've flashed CID
fastboot flash cid cid.img (you need to copy CID.img backup to your computer)
Than you can reboot
fastboot reboot
And everything should work !

get rsd lite if you don't have it.
get a firmware from where http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_spyder/list.php for example http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umt...PDRICSRTCEE_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml.zip which is latest retail central europe or whatever you want.
go to rsd lite open firmware, get into fastboot if you are not already. flash the firmware, wait until is ok.
boot to normal recovery from cmd: adb reboot recovery
wipe data/factory reset
and you should be good to go.
Why? Whats wrong with the ROM i've installed? what makes you say that it will work with these?

Of what I've heard you cannot do this as your motherboard will accept only the ONE cid.img that it's been build to work with. You apparently will have to send your phone back and it will cost you big $$ to get the parts replaced and matched.

I appreciate your efforts in helping somehow but it does not seem to be going anywhere at this stage.
A lot of us are having this same error and most have let go of it and are doomed to boot via bp tools. I think it would be a good idea to explain the whole logic behind the actions in order to fix the error, this wont be helping just me
Cheers mate
Your system and data will be wiped, the internal and external sdcard will not be affected, I gave this solution to restore your mobile to the default firmware you had.
If restoring the cid and flashing ics kernel doesn't work, that is the only way.
Your data might remain if you flash the firmware and then boot normally it happened to me once but if it doesn't boot you need to enter default recovery and wipe data/factory reset before using the phone.

Okay mate, it's what I thought... you did not read propperly what I said and it did not work. Still the same error. Total waste of time. Next time make sure you understand what people say before trying to help them.
Hello,
i used insecure boot and root trying to root my phone, which was a huge mistake as i noticed a few minutes later since i cant startup anymore and only get into bootloader.
Now I'm trying to flash my stock rom back.
My CID is VODAP102 and my Version is 3.14.161.27 so i downloaded the rom and tried "fastboot flash boot boot.img" the result is:
sending 'boot' <8192 KB>...
FAILED <data transfer failure <Unknown error>>
finished. total time: 0.158s
So well yeah, can anyone tell me why I get this error and how to fix it?
anyone?
push
so this is a rather rare problem it seems?
Ok try flashing rom using android download tool.
Sent from moon to earth........
Not working, which is probably no suprise since it works with the normal files.
From Mrom.
Playing with stock sbf 141 which i have RSDlite'ed a few times - last time after updating to 145 I tried to root and it said no room left, so this time after clearing data/cache/dalvic, I formatted system.
That apparently cost me my bootloaders and now when I boot I get "failed 1", vol up yields fastboot (RSDlite recognizes it as fastboot), vol down yields a quick flash of failed 1, entering recovery, and then blank screen and nothingness (RSDlite doesn't recognize it. It will not let me flash a 4.0.0.2 image.

That particular flash I have used many times with no probs.
Path to disaster:
wipe data/cache/Dalvic
format /system
boot (successfully) to RSD (Power+vol up)
use RSDlite to flash 141 sbk as I have done about 6 times with no prob. (sbk is in root of PC partition and dragged it to RSDlite window)
Went through 99% and rebooted for switch to BP Pass through and hung until fail because phone did not reboot, but stopped at failed to boot 1.
EDIT: phone showed :
Flashing partition recovery
Flashing MBR to device
Failed to process command flash: recovery error (0x180004)

Jw, why use 4.0.0.2 when 5.0.2.0 and 5.0.2.7 are available?
Try renaming the img to just recovery and then flash it via fastboot

Thanks for your time. I have 5020 and 5027 as zip. I d/l'ed 5020 as image and tried it and same thing, even with the rename to just recovery.

ditto, but huge thanks for your looking in!!!
any ideas? anybody? anything I can do in fastboot?
fleshing this out, I find that if I power on with no vol buttons pressed, I get failed boot 1, I am in RSD mode. So I can re-RSDlite 141, but again get failed boot 1. The reason for this is that when I was last on 141, I ota (wifi) updated a 20mb file to 145. And as it is reported across the net, you can't go backward.
Anyone found a fix for "going backward"?
Nevermind, I'm up. The solution may have been to remove the SD card while doing stuff. Or else I got lucky.
