Here are a couple videos I found to really show off the screen.
Trailer for The Hobbit in 4k

ST. JOHN / U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS in 4K - This one is really amazing. Anyone who says 1080p is pointless on a 5 inch screen needs to watch this. It almost looks 3D

you can use tubemate to download at 1920x1080 resolution. I use it for longer videos because even on my 50mbps home connection, youtube doesn't buffer worth sh!t.
Tubemate isn't in the market, but is on several other sites including getjar and amazon appstore.
Holy crap using tubemate and downloading them and playing with mx player....wow simply wow
Uh...what he said ^^ damn...

Thanks for this tip. Streaming from YouTube was good quality, but using this app to get the full 1920x1080 files is stunning!

Ok do you guys get insane stuttering when trying to view these flash videos .http://www.logotv.com/video/episode-4-season-4-queens-behind-bars/1679428/playlist.jhtml#vid=730696
haha my girlfriend and her friends wanted to watch this show so I told them I could connect it to the tv with my hdmi adapter. then I loaded the video and it played back with the most insane amount of lag. I tried it with and without the mhl hdmi adapter. the problem exist either way. the phone itself didnt seem to lag though. because i could scroll smoothly through the webpage. any of the full episodes dont play right. I know it's a show about drag queens. haha but they wanted to watch it and I wanted to show off my new phone. of course that is when i find out these videos all lag. I have gone through two notes and both have had the issue on this website. Can anyone else test this out. sorry about the video content haha.
I experience the same lag on my note... And on wifi....

thank you! What can be causing this. I've tried using the fix for 10FPS video on stock and dolphin browser but it does nothing for this website. does anyone have a theory. The note should be able to handle that video. Especially a over clocked note. It was really embarrassing trying to show the note to a iPhone user haha

Except for the part where iPhone users can't even play Flash in a browser.
Edit: by the way the above video was flawless for me in Opera Mobile full screen mode. Unwatchable in the stock browser.
I think its LOGO`s WEBSITE!.
I have problems sometimes with it Producing Video on my 1080p TV with a 2GB Graphics card that I can play World of warcraft on ultra with 60fps on. SO I think its what logo uses.
same goes for Fox`s Website
Try using the Skyfire browser and see if it runs better. It's what I used for flash when I was on iOS. It will take the load off of your device and put it on their distributed computing network, and just stream you the transcoded video.

Haha true but still not a good way to show off the note. Interesting. I couldn't get it to work in dolphin. Let me try opera. What could cause these browsers to play these videos so poorly.

This must have updated after I tested with opera browser. It is finally watchable. I'm just curious what can cause the stock browser struggle.

Can someone extrac video apk with pop up play to use this function?would like to use it on my Box.
Thanks
'pop up play' has been available for a while even before the gs3 was available under other names...stick it! Is great, had it on my gs2 for quite a while, and super video is also superb. You can resize vids etc wherever the video is on your phone.

Hello,
Since my Internet is too slow to play videos on the youtube app in "HD" and the "no HD" option looks bad, is there any option to force the youtube app to play videos in 480p? I am missing detailed settings for the video quality in every HTML5 environnement. Using flash is no alternative for me, cuz its bugged on my device. Maybe there is an alternativ YouTube App i havent allready discovered?
Hope you can help me.
Ps: Sry for the bad english.
Tried tubemate? Extensively used to download YouTube videos but it can play em too! All resolutions!
Ps - It's not present on play store. Download from tubemate.net
Download only from www.tubemate.net
There are many fake malware versions in the Play Store and other sites.

You need tubemate as mentioned above...

Hey guys. Thanks for the tip. Well I now can download videos in every resolution I want, but it seems tubemate uses the same engine to play vids compared to the YouTube APP. So i can only chose between HD and some ugly resolution.
Yeah, maybe. I never use Tubemate to play videos. If the YouTube app doesn't do it for me, I download the video.

Or do you need to convert to other files like avi or mp4?
VLC seems to play every codec under the sun. I use it and works well for mkv and others
Sent from my One X using xda premium
yes, some application in google play can do this. do not need to convert. but consider to the battery life , i do not suggest you watch video in htc one.

Hi, does anyone else having the same issue as what I'm having? Youtube quality isn't as good on this device compared to galaxy note 3 or HTC one.
Videos play smoothly but the quality and the sharpness of the videos seems to blur and not as sharp and I already set the youtube setting to HD.

Download boat browser or another preferred browser with support for flash and watch 1080p without a problem.
If that's not an option, get the youtube mod allowing for 1080p streaming. Although I couldn't get it to work it might get fixed soon.
Turn off X-reality also, it kills YouTube.

I already knew that option but its not as easy as playing via app. Anyway thanks for your suggestion
I tried Viral Youtube app and its quality even though max it support 720p as of now(earlier used to support 1080p) is really fantastic.I find it much better than default youtube app.
