hello...i don't know if it was discussed this problem before, but i just try to resolve headphone problems for my phone...i have the samsung galaxy ace from 2 weeks ago and the problem is : when i connect the headphone (i was trying 3 headphones till now and it was the same problem),the sound is very low,is distorted,it's like in a box,the voices is not hearing...if i keep pressing the play button from the headphone, the sound is better. i read something like "if enter in service mode,on the "audio tab" you can change something", i try,but the "audio tab" from the service mode is the only one which is NOT openning...i don't know what to do next...any idea ?
I have the same problem, the sound with headphones are really low, but i was using Nokia headphones because of microphone. When the button was pressed to take call sound was good, so I just glued it with super glue, now I can listen music at right volume... just cant answer calls!
) nice one .. yes,it's an idea, but i thought that someone knows what is the real problem...maybe is the soft of the phone, maybe is needed some kind of headphones

I've used some el-cheapo Sony headphones from Argos and they're much better quality. Will have to ask my GF to try her Skullcandy headphones and see how they are. But otherwise I'm not one to spend much more than £30 on a pair of headphones, especially when the jacks tend to get screwed up in my pocket.
I've noticed some distortion with my Sony's: sometimes the audio goes quite quiet then loud, repetitively. I'm almost positive it's the custom ROM - Fla.sh v1.

I'm using the Logitech Musicman (or men , whatever) and it performs more than I had expected .
For my Equaliser I'm using Equalizer 3.1.3 (I think)
So do all 3 connection headphones work OK?
Is it just the 4 connection that make the sound go out-of-phase/cancel out?
I do like the galaxy s phones for quality especially with voodoo sound. Surely Samsung could fix this so that the 4 connector headphones are interchangeable??!

Im using Shure SE102 earphones - on low volume you can hear clearly without distortion, on full volume - it not loud enough to get me remove the headphone also no distortion.
Maybe the socket is designed to chuck out a low impedance and phase variance.
I have also used the 5.1 channel button on the music player that comes with Fla.shX2.2 rom and thats works beautifully.
no, the headphones was not specially for samsung (and specially for galaxy ace i didn't find ) 2 are from nokia and one i don't know from where, but i thought that if they have 3.5 jack should work...it seems that i thought wrong ... i will try something from samsung,or have you some recommendation ?
finnaly i solve the problem with Panasonic RP-HS46...not so expensive, but very good sound,bass,etc..
I had exactly the same problem. Tried my old nokia headset, a noname, and a Philips headset. All had the problem of poor quality, and way better when the button was pushed.
The solution:
The I changed to a Philips headset specifically designed for IPHONE and it all of the sudden worked well. Phone now recognizes the headset and the phone is acting on the button.
From my reading I understand that the pins are a bit swapped for iphone, so somehow for my ace it is the same as the iphone pinning.
yes..one of my problems was that i tried some samsung headset...i don't remember exactly the name...after that i was thinking that is a problem with my phone till i tried that Panasonic headset...have not microphone, but i don't needed because i use it just for music

Ohhhh it worked for me. Thank you bro. For headphones try one without any buttons in it. All headphones without buttons work well.
skullcandy headphones work fine but just one prob..
My skullcandy headphones work perfectly fine with great sound quality but the problem is my galaxy ace does not recognise the click functions.I even downloaded an app for this problem but it still doesnt work.
Does anybody hv a solution to this problem cuz even u guys hv this phone and maybe knowing a solution to this problem
I use the head phones from my old phone (INQ cloud touch). They works Great! Even the button to play/pause works.
I use my phone for all my music. I plug it in through aux into my truck radio. I have noticed it isn't as loud as normal, thought it might have been my speakers going out. But then, I used an Iphone, playing the same song and it was at least 3 times as loud as my phone, which was what it was supposed to be.
I know that there is a volume limit on Samsung phones, but this is just ridiculous. I also know about the volume booster apps, which I have already tried and they just distort. Is there a way to completely remove the volume limit on the Note 2?
Also might help: I am rooted, running Jedi Rom on Jelly Bean.
I use the paid version of Power Amp. Its fantastic! It has a fully functional Eq as well as a pretty amp and gain controls. You can turn off the limit in app. It gave me the extra punch I was looking for.
From my Note 2
Are you plugging it in to the headphone jack? If so, Samsung put something in place that reduces the media volume to 50% when you plug in headphones. I've tried to find a way to disable it, but couldn't. I also asked them on twitter and they confirmed the action and there is no way to prevent or avoid it on stock. I did find a work around though, NFC tag that sets the volume, just need to tap it after the cable is plugged in.
Not sure on your exact problem but I had this happen to me. One day the sounds were just lower in volume. It was both the earpiece and loudspeaker. A phone reset restored them to normal.

It does turn it down when I plug it in, but I turn it up all the way. I guess I'll try out that app and see what happens... Just wish there was a way to remove it completely.
I also compared it to my cousins Galaxy Note and it was still considerably louder as well.
Wanna say that I downloaded poweramp and it worked perfect! Truck speakers sound like they should now! Thank you guys for the help!

Hello,
I don't have a SGS3 but thinking of getting one. I've done some research and found a few threads mentioning an issue with the headphone jack.
They seem to get only sound from one earpiece if they use non-stock headphones.
Just wondering if this was an issue on the earlier batches or does it still exist? Here's one of the sites I found the issue being mentioned. Seems like I can't post a link yet so here's a quote.
Hi Seber Tech Team,
I am having the following 2 concerns with my Samsung Galaxy S3 I was hoping you could help.
First, when I plug in a headphone, only 1 speaker works. I have tested that headphone on other phones and it works fine. When I plug in auxiliary cable I only get sound out of 1 speaker, however, if I slightly pull the auxiliary plug out of the other end connection then I can get it to play in both speakers. I’m not sure why this is.
Second, the voice to text feature is inconsistent in that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t and gives a message that it can’t connect with Google at the moment. I do have the setting set to download offline speech recognition but I still have this happen periodically and about half the time I use it
Thanks and any help would be greatly appreciated
Keith
The Galaxy S3 has the typical 3.5mm headphone jack with four sections. This problem seldom happens when you’re using the original Samsung headphones/headsets. When you’re using just any 3.5mm headphones, there is a possibility audio pins cannot touch the right headphone contacts. That is why you have to pull the plug out a bit to produce a stereo (left and right) audio. I photoshopped a picture below just to give you a clearer explanation why using typical 3.5mm jacks may often lead to audio problems in Galaxy S3.

Never heard of such things.
The 3.5 mm Jack is universal.
Only different is hands free and volume control may require particular headphones, but sound out is all the same to all 3.5 mm standard headphones
I am working in a mobile accessories shop, as far as I know.
There is type hands free earphones can be used on both iPhone and other Android phones (Samsung, HTC, LG
..etc )
And another type, capable of volume control, this type can only used on some specific devices, in this case Galaxy S3,Note 2, iPhone 4,5 etc

Hey Guys.
I'm creating this thread since I did not find any other old thread about this issue.
When a song or any audio output is done through the Redmi Note 3's Speaker or when it is connected to a Amplifier like a car stereo then there's an Awkward ssssss or Hissing sound.
I've used Two Different models of the Redmi Note 3 thanks to Amazon and both of them have this.
It has a very very low possibility of hardware error.
When a song is played at 1/7 of the total volume, put your ear near the device speaker and listen carefully. You might notice a weird hissing sound. It goes away when there is deep and strong bass but is there lots of times.
Using an amplifier it is most noticeable at lower volumes.
I hope you people understand.
Respond ASAP!

Hey,
I actually have noticed this when I played music in my Car and also from the phone's Speaker itself!
Both when the volume is Very Low....
I know it's not a problem with my piece because I've checked with many RN3 Users and same issue is being detected there too.
My RN3 is new and in superb Condition and so are the other Appliances like the Car Stereo I used.
Even then this Hiss sound is there.
I wonder of its a problem with the Chipset altogether since there isn't a sound/music chip in it...
I hope it's a software issue and gets resolved fast...
When recording sound from the speaker output yes the sound is levied towards the high end, this is probably what causes the hissing sound in your amplifier since it can't properly amplify that freq or something along those lines, I'm not too sure since I'm no sound engineer but that's just my 50 cent.
Edit
Dumb me, your amplifier is probably a 3.5mm headphone Jack right? If so then there shouldn't be this issue and my above statement wouldn't apply ;-;
I noticed this when using Viper Audio. There was a small but noticeable hissing in the left earphone. It went away when I turned off playback gain control.
Maybe check if any equalisers or headphone effects are on and turn them off?

I had checked everything possible. I even did now.
No part of the settings, equalizer, audio effects could fix it....
And where's the option you're talking about for playback gain control? I'm still unrooted with a locked bootloader on MIUI V7.2.3.0LHOMIDA
The sound is there in both speakers in my case. I'm not using anything other than the stock music application and some great songs on an amplifier I.e. Cars stereo
Anybody has got the solution? I am also facing same issue ??

Not till now.
I've bought this Bluetooth audio adaptor that serves my purpose in the car.
Funnily nobody at Mi noticed this.
I'll do a bug report highlighting this issue.
Everyone else plase do too!

I have also dropped them a mail. Will also report bug. Thank you for your solution but I'll probably have to wait as my car system does not support Bluetooth.

Even mine didn't support Bluetooth.
If your Stereo supports USB and Aux in, you can also go for the adapter since it only needs those two.
USB for Power and Aux In for the Music.

I had a similar problem. Whenever I connected my headphones to my Redmi Note 3, there would be a weird hissing noise at low volumes especially. At higher volumes, it would reduce. I found a fix to this on Reddit, but you need to be rooted.
https://m.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comme..._3_pro/?utm_source=mweb_redirect&compact=true
Looks like a legacy. We are well into 2017 and the issue still exists. I bought my RN3 a couple of weeks ago and noticed the hissing on the third day of use. I just have been ignoring it. After all, it's a Chinese phone. I bought it and I have to live with it.
Good afternoon! The solution for problems with Redmi Note 3 and AUX is the following (solves the problem of correct detection and noise during playback): it is necessary to solder or otherwise connect resistors with a rating of 10 ohms between the common "0" wire and the left and right channel wires (I did 17 Ohm , did 10 ohms - both options work).
After you make this cable, the sequence of actions is as follows: the cable is first inserted into the smartphone, wait for the icon to appear with the headphones, and then insert into the AUX-input of the radio or audio system.
Hi guys I'm new here and after trawling the web I've decided to ask some experts for help. I and my partner both have new Redmi note 3's, mine works perfectly but hers has low volume from the earpiece and low output from the mic during calls. I have figured out how to enter engineering mode but need clarification.
There is an option to increase music volume, does this only affect the speaker output, or does it also affect the earpiece?
Also, I see no option to increase microphone gain, is there anyway to do this without rooting the device?
I wouldn't mind doing it to my own but my girl is hesitant. She doesn't want to risk bricking her lovely new phone! I'm fairly competent but haven't had to root anything expensive before, just my crappy q10 £50 tablet and that was easy.
Oh yeah and I have seen somewhere there might be an issue where the phone uses the wrong mic during calls or a possible conflict with noise reduction when using both mics. I noticed much lower volume from her phone when using VoIP like Snapchat and Facebook calling.
Any help much appreciated.
