[Q] Root Android 2.2.2 LG phoenix - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings,
I am attempting to root a LG P505 "Phoenix". I have scoured the forums, but all the androir 2.2.2 exploit links are dead. I believe it is because they are all old posts. I can not update the version for multiple reasons.
Sorry for the noob post, but I cant find a valid download.
Does anyone have valid links for me to download compatable root exploits?

Hi There, using Gingerbreak should be able to root all 2.2.2 phones. Give it a try

Question [Q] Need help/Suggestion!!!
Hi I bought a Lg P500 a month back,details are:
Android Version:2.2.1
Kernel Version:2.6.32.9
Build Number:FRG83
Software Version:V10c DEC-08-2010.
When i checked through Lg update notification it said a new version 10d is avaialble.
Q1)What is the difference between v10 c and v10 d ??
Q2)suppose if i upgraded my phone to 10d,if i didnt like the update can i revert back to old version??
I am using APP2SD and moved all apps to mem card.
As my phone has 40 pre-apps which stored in internal memory ,My phone has hardly 19-20 mb free internal memory..So it is very difficult to manage .
Q3)Can anybody please suggest how to remove Preinstalled apps which i dont want??
I am afraid to install custom roms mentioned in the other posts as the phone is only 1 month old .
Q3)Does Warranty still exists if i do any custom rom like cynogen or unofficial ginger bread update etc?
Please suggest some tips to improve Performance of my Phone .
Many Many Advance thanks for replying ..
Thanks

Hi and welcome!
I'll try to reply to your questions in the same style
Q1: There is small difference between V10c and V10D. In my opinion, it is not wise to update original fw until the official 2.3 arrives. If you upgrade from 2.2 to 2.2.2 you'll loose the ability to root your phone.
Q2: You can always downgrade your device using KDZ. If you need more info on this one, follow this thread. Just make sure to read carefully and try to understand the risk that implies flashing with KDZ. If you pass this ones, you'll be upgrading and downgrading in no-time.
Q3: You can remove pre-installed apps only if you root your phone, and use an root un-installer, or by flashing a different rom with no pre-installed apps.
To do this, you have to have Android 2.2 on your device (not 2.2.2), and use a tool like SuperOneClick Root or Z4Root. Again, you should be careful and read every warning.
To get the most from your phone, check out the threads on XDA forum regarding Optimus One Android Development or Optimus One General. There are a lot of things to do, with a lot of details and tutorials, just follow carefully.
I hope this helps you.
Cheers mate!

thanks for your kind advice .. I have tried to root using z4 root but it didn't rooted my phone instead my phone was lil bit slow after installation then i have upgraded to V10D through original firmware which shown in my pc suite .
It have tried to open the following link
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/ezlooks_model_list.jsp?model=LGP500
but it seems the link is not working.
So ..I m thinking better to wait for one more month for LG till it releases 2.3 ..
Man, you'll have to wait more than one month for 2.3... :|
About the link you cannot open, i guess it is broken, it doesn't work for me either. But you must be able to find the fw you need for your country by searching for it on google. I found mine on other forum, and it works perfect. Just google "lg optimus one <<your country>> rom" (no quotes) and you shall find it. Be sure to get the *.kdz file, not *.dz, they need some other application for flashing, and it is more complicated.
About rooting with z4root, you need to downgrade to v10C or below (maybe v10D works too, i haven't tried) and then use z4root. Make sure you have debugging checked in applications before using z4root.
If you want to root v10D or newer (but up to android 2.2.1) you should be able to do it using OneClick method, it is easy enough, though you need the drivers installed on your pc, as you will connect the device via usb.
Tell me where are you from, maybe i can get you the original fw, at least i can help finding
Cheers!

[Q] Help

Can somebody tell me if i can use superboot to root my LG P500 wich i have updated to 2.3.3 ?
i have never heard of superboot nor have i read anything about superboot on our forum. when i googled superboot i just saw "nexus" everywhere. i think its safer if you downgrade back to 2.2/2.2.1/2.2.2 and try rooting using one of these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901247
root with superoneclick search on the forum for it, is simple

[Q] Please help root rather unknown device

Hello,
I've bought a tPAD-7122 (a.k.a. Honron HM07A-W or Link:
www
eforchina
com/view/80363/HM07A-Coffee--7.0-inch-Capacitive-Touch-Screen-Android-2.1-aPad-Style-Mobile-Phone-Function-Tablet-PC-with-WIFI--Built-in-3G-Module--WCDMA-850---1900---2100MHz--EVDO---360-Degree-Menu-Rotate--Support-TF-Card-up-to-32GB--CPU--RK2818--600MHz.h t m). Tried almost anything I could find on the net (universal androot, Z4root, GingerBreak and the like) to root it and no luck.. It has a 2.1 Android on it and it's mainly Chinese customized. Not sure how to proceed next. It is RK2818 based so I think it shouldn't be too complicated. I also have the original ROM's pulled out just in case needed.
Is there anyone who could help?
Much appreciate it guys.

[ROOT] Any Success Rooting LG Optimus Zone 3 (VS425PP)?

I am having issues rooting my LG Optimus Zone 3 with one-click root software.
I've tried both the .apk and the PC methods for Kingo Root and Kingroot. I've tried numerous times with both only to get a "Root Failed" result.
Has anyone had success rooting this phone?
Thanks
Android version: 5.1.1
Build number: LMY47V
Software version: VS425PP5
Kernel version: 3.10.49
Can someone please help?

Hi we have it figured out on another thread here...
you'll have to downgrade to version 2 of the software then root and flash a few partitions to fix a bootloop issue then we use kingroot to exploit the device to root. then we use some codes through ADB to remove king root. and replace the whole SU bianary with chainfires SuperSU.apk
it's a process but if you have any problems following the tut. just post in the above mentioned thread and we will help.
we have links to everything you'll need over on our thread .
come join us over there for rooting your zone3.
and Welcome to XDA
