So got the phone and all I could think is. .... its so big but I like it and I'll don't think I could every go back to something smaller

Totally agree with you! I had to go to my Droid4 to export my data for my Mileage app, and was like: "Jesus this thing is tiny!!"
Can't wait to use that standing joke to people who molest my phablet!

Seriously guys listen up... (I guess I need to get a little mean)

OK guys listen well...
Remember this post?
Apparently not... as you all seem to keep acting like little kids.
I saw yet another locked thread when I logged on today.
As it stands I don't care who is or is not lying, who is or is not a troll, and or who is or is not right. I don't, I simply don't...
If you have issues with someone, just ignore them or stay away from their posts, twitter feeds or websites as the case may be. It would be so much better for us all that way.
Now I don't mind a bit of off topic discussion and threads, but all I am seeing lately is bashing, arguing and trolling.
Let me lay a little something on you... Nobody is owed anything. No Dev owes you ROMs, root, or anything else. Vice versa, no user owes a Dev anything for their work. (paid market apps excluded) The rooting community is a hobby based entity. We work on respect and a mutual love of the platform. Donations are voluntary but a good idea. (It makes Devs feel appreciated)
Another thing... Drama... It kills the community. It runs off users and Devs alike. It creates a hostile environment that no one wants to deal with. When a device looses Devs it can be a death nail to the further development for that device, and when we don't even have a perm root exploit, loosing top Devs is the worst scenario imaginable.
It is getting so bad that even I am getting aggravated, and I could stay calm even with someone punching me in the face...
It is so bad I am giving serious consideration to jumping ship to the Nexus... An (in my opinion) inferior device to the Rezound, just to get away from most of the drama.
Come on people, get your f***ing acts together, and your heads out of your a**es.
Sorry if I come off as a jerk, but something needs to be said/done about all this.
Internet drama...dun dun dun
And how about no more Nexus threads too?

Eh... its a valid topic to compare phones... but it can get out of hand.
There's always going to be drama no matter what you do and what you say. As much as we would like everyone to grow the F up, that's just not going to happen. Internet forum trolls are here to stay, and frankly this thread is probably giving them what they want... More attention! Sure you can jump ship and go to the Nexus, but I'm pretty damn positive there will be drama there too. Best thing you can do is just ignore the ****, nothing you say or do is going to change what's happening on this forum.
Threads will be closed, another will be opened and get trolled, and probably closed again. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the ride till S-off happens. I also have alot of popcorn ready!

Agreed, but there's plenty of threads already, no need for more (and by now pretty much all the comparisons have been made and all one needs to do is read). Especially when they're just for the drama, and there have certainly been those here.

I understand how you feel man. It's just that some people think they're entitled to everything and they want it now. If they don't get it right away then they start having hissy fits. They think they're big and bad and on the top of the world sitting behind their keyboards. Just makes me wonder how they make it through daily life. Best thing really is just to ignore them, don't feed the trolls and eventually they will go away. Sure they'll continue to post and hope to bait a person into a response, but if everyone keeps at it they'll go elsewhere.

Hehehe, I had been thinking the same thing seeing his/her sig in other threads. Not to go OT, but the camera on this phone is soooo much better than my last htc phone. It's NOT a DSLR, but it certainly does a hella good job on image quality for a phone camera. I'm not conplaining..lol .
As for the trolls...bashers...dramateers.. and those well known HUTA's (Head Up Their A**es) ... It will never end. They love fuel, and all people like you and me do is refill the tank. Sure, there were much better times when everything was nicer and most of the posts were filled with posituve and/or constructive feedback. This is the same way all over the internet. But there is no sense in blowing up and attacking those who cause the trouble because it does absolutely no goid at all. I know... I've done this myself and it gets me nowhere. The best thing you can do is to always try and encourage positive feedback. Not everyone will like every commend, post or idea... Not everyone will agree on one thing. Best things to not be doing is bragging too much about something or attacking and/or making fun of something someonevow.s...eg.. like their phone.. or hating on something they said. Im no mod in here, but it's just straight out common sense. Some people just wantvto get a rise out of others and those others just can't resist torpedoing that trolls sorry arse with some smarta** comment to get them going even mote.... Admit it, many of us have done it. Some things will never change... And this, is one of them. Thats what mods are for. But everyone here can make their life a little easier by not contributing to the source... / .... Fuel .
Pro-tip: You don't need to read drama filled threads. You don't need to read any thread actually. You have the choice to come to the forum, check for any thread titles indicating root has been achieved, and if you don't see them then either go away, or read only threads that have titles which interest you. Plain and simple.
I don't know why everyone on the internet feels that every single god damn thread in every forum MUST adhere to their own views of how threads should progress. If people want to *****/troll/libel/lie/cry/etc., then who are you to tell them not to? If you don't like it, DON'T READ IT!!! Plus, it's a PHONE. How do you not have anything else in your life going on that makes forums on phones completely irritate you to the point where you feel the need to tell people to not express their opinion? I'm assuming you're a Marine, which means you have probably sacrificed your life at some point to give US citizens the right to ***** and moan to their hearts desire. But that doesn't give you the right to tell people how to act.

How my TF201 is saving my Marriage! (lol)

I got a chuckle from this, thought id share
Received this text this morning from wifey (see screenshot)
For the first night in forever, i didn't touch my actual computer ... and sat on the couch with my wife. Which was fine, since i had my TFP with me to crush any withdrawals i might have.
Now as a different note, she wants to "talk about life" now that she see's i can sit on the couch. Any married people out there know wtf that means, and what i should prepare for???
Never thought the TFP would change my life THAT MUCH!
It's hard to tell, it seems like she might be about to hit you with something. Whenever they say lets talk thats trouble, talking should be natural not told to do so.
I'm curious how you go "in" your computer.
Maybe she wants a baby?
Dude at least you can use your prime, my wife always wants to steal it to play AngryBirds/Where's my water...
In my experience, usually women just want to spend time with you when they wanna "talk about life". Just give her your full attention, imho thats more important then what you actually talk about^^ If she's a talker you ask "so how are you" and listen and nod and sometimes paraphrase what she just said. If she's a listener well I guess you just tell her the imba stuff you can do with your prime
Cheers mate!

My ex-wife started our last conversation as a married couple with that line.
Just kidding. We actually spoke quite a bit, right up to the divorce.
I was impossible to live with! I'm sure your wifey just wants to spend more time with you.

It's about time, balance your free time between her and your hobbies, but just give her more time, you'll avoid any issues by following this advice.
Women are funny that way. It's not necessarily what you're doing with them, but that you're just in the same room. Mine's the same way: before, I'd do my early evening browsing, RSS catchup, and such on my desktop or notebook, but not usually in the same room where she's cooking dinner.
Now that I have the Prime (although to be precise it actually started with the original Transformer), I can do exactly the same stuff, but sit in the same room with her. And she's happier.
Go figure.

Rsarno, I think you should dedicate time everyday AWAY from your prime/PC to talk about her day (and yours). Let me know how that goes.
The problem is now she'll expect you on the couch every night. Long gone are the nights of reddit, wow or SWTOR. You are now available. If she wants to talk about having a baby. Kiss the rest of your life goodbye. Those long sessions of doing anything you want...gone. Your life now revolves around a small devil that bursts forth from your wifes once attractive area...now it's only seen as a baby maker and is no longer sexy.

Come on Guys !!!!
Surely you know by now when the Wife says we gotta Talk it actually means ...You're gonna sit & listen !!!!
Darn I hope "she who must be obeyed" don't read this LMAO
My wife is kind of going the other way, let me explain.
I am 41 y.o, always been a gamer. My wife is 36, doesn't really understand hard core gaming and the time it takes to get decent at it. She would always give me **** about how much time I was playing games instead of hanging out with her. We have 2 kids 5 and 8.
So last summer/fall I helped coach my son in football and the wife and I became friends with this group of people (coaches and wives). The coaches started talking about MW3 and how much fun it is to play.
Fast forward to about a week ago, I come home and see MW3 sitting on the couch, I asked "Did you buy this?", she says yes. In the back of my head I am like no way, she hates this stuff. I set it up for her to play, I wanted her to get a feel of how the game plays. She comes up from playing, eyes huge like someone thats been on a 2 day bender. The first thing she says to me is "This is like crack, so fun!!!"
I looked at her and said, now you know why I would disappear for hours on end playing against my friends. She looked at me kind of sad face and said "sorry, if only I had known how fun it was and to play and talk to friends no matter where they are, I would've done this a long time ago."
Needless to say, it is never too late to try something.
It's over dude.

Hahaha I think the exact same thing when people complain about how they look with it by their head. I can't believe someone would care about that I personally don't think I'd honestly take that into consideration when making a purchase for a phone especially when the size gives it so many advantages.
Walt also smashed the Dell Streak in the same manner. Just remember he is from a time when microwaves and televisions were not a standard home accessory. Really an iPhone would seem great to someone who is just getting acclimated to technology.
Honestly, I don't think it's totally ridiculous to be concerned about how one looks talking on a phone. It's no different from caring how you dress or what accessories you wear--and make no mistake, a phone is an accessory just as much as a bracelet or necklace. It's not a big deal to me personally, but I do think I'd be a bit self-conscious if I were walking down the street and talking on my Note.
From my perspective, people on both sides are blowing the thing out of proportion. Like so many other things, it's just a matter of personal preference.

People where I live have to "have" the iPhone because it the "cool" phone to have and I expect to catch crap because of the notes size but personally I know that the phone will be very productive for myself as I have large hands making it very frustrating to use an iphone. But again back to personal preference all to their own I just personally will not conform to society and do as I please and what makes me happy and not care what some random person thinks. Personally I find things much easier that way.

Who ever said thoughtful discourse was dead?
You're kidding yourself if you think that people around you won't see you using your phone and make judgments based on it and its appearance. You don't have to care about those judgments, but they're happening either way, just as people form opinions based on what you're wearing. If nobody cared about how phones look, there wouldn't be a white Note or a purple RAZR, and I'm willing to bet there would also be fewer iPhones than there are now.
I'm not advocating choosing a phone based on its appearance alone, and I'm here because I preordered a Note for myself. Obviously a phone does a lot more than a jacket or a necklace and should be given commensurately more consideration. That doesn't mean everyone needs to shut their eyes, plug their ears, and shriek when presented with opinions that don't coincide with their own.
Yeah I'm going to feel self conscious when using it too, but really, who talks on their phone anymore anyway? If in my car, BT, if on my desk, spkr.
I don't get that many calls anyway.
I can't wait to gaze into that huge screen!

Zach at BGR has issues

This is seriously the most bias review I have ever seen. He basically hates the phone because of the size and claims that it's not for anyone except Basketball players. Really?
Two local AT&T stores are currently sold out on this device. It's clearly selling. Zach should probably give up writing reviews and stick to opinion pieces.

Careful with the short man syndrome stuff... I got some small hands, am a short man, and would not give up the Note for anything! Why would I? I can use a tablet with any problems, I should definitely be able to use the Galaxy Note...
you know i honestly wonder if apple pays for sites like that.
Oh I dunno...he did stick with that stupid "they'll laugh at you". And if you're a fanatic of wanting to easily do things with just one hand, maybe the Note isn't for you. But almost the entire review was him praising the Note. I think the only other thing he was critical of was he wished they'd made the screen more smudge proof like on the S2.
But he did say if you wanted a large phone that would attract attention or a small tab, then this was def the phone for you. So I'm not exactly how biased against the phone he's being like Geller or whatever his name is.
I will say that this phone does indeed attract attention. My high school and middle school students were freaked out when they saw it on Mon and Tues. And the fellow teachers all wanted to play with it. I had it at the gym and a lot of people that saw it came up and asked what it was. A large percentage of them really liked it and were thinking about getting one because of the large screen to browse the web, play games, and work with files, etc.
I think not being able to text neatly with one hand is well worth all the benefits of this phone.

I meant no offense..
I'm believe the fact that I can't do a lot of things one handed easily as a bonus now. More times then not it simply stops me from using my phone when I really shouldn't.
Unfortunately, we are still living in an Apple world. It seems like more and more people are switching, and realizing that they've been duped into having a company tell them what's best for them. BGR is still under that company's spell.
This review wasn't nearly as bad as Johnathon's, but complaining about the size of smart phones nowadays is getting ridiculous. I could understand if it was an enormous brick, but it's more thin than the iP4.
Basically at this point, it does help to make a list of websites that are Apple-infested...and to avoid them completely. Obviously each click to their sites benefits them..so yeah.
I didn't bother opening the article...but seems like this other BGR guy also said no ones gonna buy the Note.
Based on 3 nearby at&t stores that I stopped by, they're currently sold out. When I asked them what kinds of people bought it, they said surprisingly iPhone people made the switch cuz they wanted the extra screen estate that's offered.
It really was a pretty fair review all the way up to the "size" paragraph. It will be hilarious looking back at the biased "journalism" of BGR and other iphanboi sites when the Note is finally recognized as a truly trendsetting device in about a year.

Then I guess you missed his comments on how he got a fulls day use out of one battery charge and how gorgeous the screen was and how fast it was and how nice the hardware looked? He actually listed a lot of good things about the Note.
And I don't see where he actually made fun of a person using the phone. He said it would attract attention and that it was a phone made for a basketball player but he never insulted anyone that would buy the phone. I think he even said if you shrunk it down about 20%, so that would drop it back down to around the 4.3/4.5" mark. So he's not exactly against phones larger than the iPhone.

Then I guess you missed his comments on how he got a fulls day use out of one battery charge and how gorgeous the screen was and how fast it was and how nice the hardware looked? He actually listed a lot of good things about the Note.

From his original "review" and his dumb comments on his twitter account, I honestly think he just threw in a couple of positives after taking so much heat for his original assessment so that he could look less biased. Just my opinion/theory.

The Galaxy Note exudes a coolness factor/Samsung did an awesome job advertising this

Almost every instance on using this phone in public, people either stop and stare or they ask questions. It isn't like I'm trying to bring attention to myself but everyone is always asking if that is the new note. I leave it on my desk at work and whenever people come into my office, I'm asked about it and they want to doodle with the stylus. I hope this interest turns into more sales so that Samsung is prompted to come out with more phones in this line in the future. I simply refuse to go to any other phone now.
If you watched any basketball this weekend, the commercials were constant. They certainly seem to expect good sales:

If you seek attention, I'm sure you will find it.
Seems as if you either walk around waving this phone in the air or you are doing something to draw attention to yourself.
Its only a phone dude!
I get a kick out of these type of threads. I used to read them on the iPhone forums and laugh, but it seems the same type of people are here as well.
Probably a bit of an underage issue a well.
I've been using the latest phones and tablets for awhile now and have never had anyone come up to me and ask me about any of them . Those that say they constantly have people coming up to them at obviously seeking attention.
Remember...a phone does not make you cool

I have both asked and been asked by strangers about phones I've owned. Perhaps people don't ask you because you give off a bad vibe, or smell bad, or something.

I smell bad but still get asked about my Note.
I got the note cause I'm fat and needed a big keyboard. So far the only ones to ask me about it are my close friends. Never have I had someone cone up to me or stare at me because of this phone.

Lol i got approached by a stranger the first day i got it at in & out burger. Whenever i play draw something with the s-pen, thats when people start to stare and i could hear em saying wow and omg thats a huge...(insert joke here). But put this phone next to your ear and you get strange looks.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
I had my phone out at Nordstroms looking at Google shopper for shoes I wanted. The salesman there asked if it was and I've probably been asked over a dozen times if its the note or wow that's huge what is it.

Your comment seems quite underage. Just because some people have strangers asking them about devices and you don't doesn't mean they are lying or looking for attention.
Really only a few devices in the recent past, such as the Droid RAZR, have received as much media attention and advertising as the Note, so all of your latest tablets and phones have likely not drawn the same attention from the general public. Therefore you cannot compare them to the Note.
I do not show off my phones, I use them. With my Captivate, I received no comments from strangers. With my Infuse, I had a couple, but only from people familiar with Android that were curious what brand and model it was. With the Note, same use and everything, I have received more comments and attention than the whole time I had both of my previous phone, in just two weeks. Dude in line at Chipotle, girl employee at Home Depot, several people I have never talked to in my classes here at college. This phone is turning heads whether you are looking for attention or not, so don't be a downer because nobody finds you approachable.

You guys are so funny, thought this would never happen to me.
Went to get my drugs at the pharmacy, and the 3 people behind the counter all came over to look at it and touch it, they asked the same questions. Yes it fits in my shirt pocket, and I let them try it.

i don't know about the Advertising
but after using it hands on for a few days I'm addicted, it's so hard to get back to my T989
I get a lot of looks, and some comments. mostly "is that a phone???", "is that the one with a pen?", or "Is that the Super Bowl phone?" (referring the commercials played at the Super Bowl).
I have a gold metallic case on it so most of the time it looks like I am carrying a huge gold bar. Funny the looks I get.
I get asked about it all the time. I'll just be sitting on the train or at the bar or something and I guarantee someone will ask about it.

It's definitely not the advertising. It's the fact that it's a larger phone. I used a Dell Streak for 1.5 years and got the same type of comments about it.

Not worth the time to comment but I will anyway. I use my phone for business, not playing games. I don't "play" with it while waiting in a food line, nor do I walk around with it like it is a trophy. Many here do. That is obvious. As far as being "approachable", I am not looking for strangers to come up to me and ask about my phone, and I certainly don't want them "touching" it. The reason I even responded to this post was because the OP stated that the Note exuded a "coolness' factor. That certainly tells me how old he or she is.
We all grow up someday. Some of us a bit later I guess.
Give it time.

I also use my phone for business, not playing games. The only time games get played on my Note is when I let one of my grandchildren use it to keep them occupied. Nor do I walk around with it like it is a trophy as you put it. That being said, I still think it has a 'coolness' factor and yes, I have been asked about it in public. I spend a great deal of time on the phone when out - isn't that kind of the point to have a cell? If I didn't want to talk on the phone outside the office, I wouldn't carry it. I really do not mind people asking about it.
phone is awesome and everyone knows it.

You sure know how to wash down a party. I am a network admin for a defense contractor, so it is needed for work, and I do not just go waving it around looking for attention. If I want attention, I talk to my wife.
Glad your so boring.

The lame response by lindenhurst has inspired me to share.
Story#1 (2 weeks ago)
I attended my wife's induction into the honor society for her university yesterday afternoon. There were 16 inductees and we all socialized a bit before the ceremony began. I was to pin my wife so I quickly made nice with the couple that sat next to us and asked if they would mind tag teaming on getting pics of the pinning action. All was set. If you could have seen the look on the face of the guy (and others around us). When I pulled out my Note... He said "what is that!?!? ". Of course, I took the opportunity to demonstrate the wonders of the Note to him as his amazement grew. After he got a chance to handle it and snap a few pics of us during our part of the ceremony he was hooked. His wife looked at me and said "I guess he's found a new toy now.. I can see it in his eyes".. I just laughed and went about my business. He had an iPhone.
Story#2 (last week)
So I venture into my local Best Buy to return an item. As I am standing at the return counter waiting for the guy to process my return, I am typing away in facebook and fully engaged on my Note. The young girl behind the counter next to him said "Wow. Is that the Note? I want to get one so badly. My mom won't let me but I am going to figure out a way to get one. I love that phone." I then let her hold it because she was so starstruck with it.. Really... I laughed inside.
