Hey there,
I'm a user of the Omega ROM (4.1.2) and I wish to get back the Samsung Task Manager on the device when I go into recent apps, as I find the amount of control I get lacking. This mod below does exactly what I want, but isn't installing via CWM due to the fact the app is designed for the Galaxy S.
Would anyone be able to help me out getting this onto my S3?
Thanks,

Right most button? There are no buttons on the recent app list on AOSP/AOKP. That's what I WANT it to have. It's on the standard ROM but not on CM10. It has been ported over to another CM10 device (Galaxy S) and I don't see why it couldn't be done with the S3.
It's a really useful feature, because the recent apps feature isn't always enough.
Oh you didn't mention aosp in op. The kill all button is there with aokp.

AOKP counts as CM10, right? I'm using a CM10 ROM, Omega. There is no such option to kill all apps or use a task manager in CM10.

Im on the AOSP JB ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737449 and for the life of me cannot find a way to access the os's task manager to see my active apps, clear ram etc...
Also, i can't seem to be able to add anymore home screens/delete home screens on my phone. The whole pinch gesture does not work :/
Sorry if this is a noob question (

Ahhh, had a feeling touchwiz was providing the extra features, oh well, rom still rocks, thanks
Does the same go for not being able to add/remove homescreen pages?

currently using cm9 for my note. Tryed installing S-Note app from dropbox. application wouldn't install into phone. I use memo beta but really want S-Note and want the features hold and click button on Spen to screenshot. Is there a app? will CM10 come with these features?
Thanks.
check the themes and app section there is a guy there that has made a good s-note/memo replacement.
its called "G-Note"
also there is an app in the market i recommend called "Memo Beta"
if you download g-note be sure to thank him and let him know your appreciation.
edit: no button features though, stick wtih crapwiz for that
screenshots are just as simple on aosp, hold voldown+power, then edit the screenshot if you want in g-note or memo beta like you would snote.
No you will need touch wiz to run that app and do those things.

All the S-apps are based on the TouchWiz launcher, so all the pure AOSP base Roms cannot have S-apps. But like people said, there are good replacement apps, so I don't really miss them.
Screenshot can be done by power menu, too.

Hello all,
i'm currently in GB with my I9100P and i would like to upgrade to ICS.
I'm seraching a rom which don't look like android base ICS or iphone like so i don't want CM9 and MIUI.
I like samsung interface so i was looking in Rom samsung base.
But i don't know which is the best.
I want a stable rom with no bugs, i need a rom with brightness adjustment by pressing the notif bar. I would like also the option to view multitasking app in the notif bar.
have you a rom to suggest me ?
THX
I finally install the VK 5.4.4 rom which is very good but have some repetitive crash with application.
So now i'm only looking for a rom based on samsung ICS 4.0.4 which have the recents app buton in status bar and if possible the brigthness ajdjustment by pressing the status bar as was in Gingerbread

did you perform a Factory reset? If not , then do it now.
Ps: Never ask for best/stable Rom. Never!
Always read the forum rules!
sorry
I did a full wipe before installing the rom...
when i said crash i means application crash not phone crash, only freeze.
also sometime the flashlight turn on without any reason when i wake up the phone.
that's why i'm looking for another rom.

The ROM you flashed is not supported again on XDA.
There are many good ROMs out there for our phone
You can try anyone you want. If you don't like any ROM, just like the one you are presently using, then flash another one.
If you are looking for another ROM, then look under the two development sections. There is no need to ask for the best or stable ROM.
Of course, sorry again but i have already see the rom development section but i don't see any information about a shortcut to access to recents app in the status bar or pressing the status bar to adjust the brightness. That's why i'm asking you...

Samsung removed the status brightness function in ICS 4.0.4 firmware.
Therefore, any ROM based on stock ICS 4.0.4 firmware will lack the function.
If you really want this function, then download ICS 4.0.3 custom ROMs.
There is an app BRIGHTNESS WIDGET (I'm not sure about the name again, but you can search in playstore), which can serve the same purpose.
Ah ok, so is there any other rom which have a shortcut to access to recents app in the status bar?
Thanks

I don't know.
Go through the first page of each Stock based ROM of your choice, then check out their features. this is your job!
I am trying to create a homescreen shortcut to the cm updater on stock cm10 trebuchet and failing miserably. Diss anybody have any ideas? Thanks.
Sent from my Apple IIe
I think in stock trebuchet u have to go into the app drawer and go to widgets and even though it's not a widget, u drag that to the home screen and it'll show up as a shortcut. Could be wrong though it's been a while since I've used it.
If the cm updater is an app then just hold it in the app drawer then drop it

It is not in the app drawer. I could do it when using adw, but I was hoping to be able to do it on trebuchet.

I was trying to tell him that in trebuchet the shortcuts are under the widgets tab. If u go to widgets tab and drag the settings shortcut "widget" to your home screen it then gives u an option to choose where u want the shortcut to go. And then it's there. He may not have fully understood me.

This, in a nutshell, is the problem.

I recommend delta updater. It only downloads a 50mb file but the flash is still good. It seems to replace files only. You could also add a shortcut with this as it is an app.

This is a very glaring omission that I hope they fix at some point. I have become accustomed to using elixir 2 shortcut widgets as opposed to a full blown widget to preserve battery life. Only using CPU time when clicking the shortcut to see my 7x3 widget. It is almost a deal breaker for me honestly.
Not sure why long pressing on the home screen brings up the wallpaper select menu anyway. Much more user friendly as well as useful to use the default Android action of long pressing allowing you to select what to add, including shortcuts. I add things way more often than I change a wallpaper, as I would think most others would to.
Edit: I figured out how to make the Elixir shortcut widgets work but still problems with all the other ones as the OP has said. I still think the home screen long press should be different, anything is better than changing wallpaper but would prefer the old implementation of bringing up what to add to the home.

I don't mean to sound like a prick. But they do all of this for free for us. Yes it would be nice to have different options, but that's why there is a play store with tons of different launchers available. To call it a glaring omission, is.... Kind of like asking for more when they've already given us a lot. Maybe in time they'll add what yer asking for. But we really do owe them a lot of thanks, so let's just be happy with what we've got. Like I said, not trying to be a prick. Just saying.

I do appreciate what they do and really love the CM mods. Have been using them since the first one that came to the OG Evo. I understand that they are doing this for free and for that I do greatly appreciate it. I didn't mean for it to come off as demanding or that they owed us anything. I admit I could have worded it much better, but I honestly meant it as a request for something I feel should be added at some point. It is a small addition(I don't mean small to code, as I have no idea how much work it would take) that would add a lot in return in respect to intuitiveness.
I also understand that these are beta's(alpha's even possibly?) and not all features are yet integrated in or been tested. Take this as a humble request for the shortcuts to be changed/fixed at some point before going final. Request also for the long press on homescreen action to be changed to something more used, such as the default menu for adding apps/shortcuts/widgets for the screen.
Yeah, I didn't want to start anything. I was just wondering if I was overlooking anything simple. Cyanogenmod all the things!

Hi. I was searching through the threads and roms but I didn't find what I was looking for. So my question is there any AOKP rom in which the samsung motion features are implemented? I mean the features like double tap on the top of the phone and it jumps to the top of a list or palm touch to mute/pause etc.

I haven't found any ROM that isn't based on official ones that have those features as well, probably it isn't that easy to extract those features and port them... The thing I miss the most from official ROMs is the screen detecting whether you're looking at it or not...
