Anyone having sms issues? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

This has happened twice where the sms would be in pending until I restarted the whole phone. I would send out of Google voice instead. Anyone else having ms hanging forever?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app

I have been having that issue as well. I have to kill Facebook using the stock task manager then it works fine. I also had a problem with outgoing calls and pulling up contact names when trying to text.

Are you guys using the stock rom?

I was having similar problems on my stock EVO LTE after the last upgrade. Finally gave up and did a hard reset. I haven't had any more issues. Although I did run DirtyRacun and now have root but still running stock for now.

This is a very common problem with people running sense roms, particularly ones running the latest firmware. I had this problem too before switching to CM10 and there is no known way to permanently fix it. Sorry guys.

I just posted about this in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1898931
Myself from other thread lol said:
I have been having the same problem too.
I had MeanROM, and thinking it was the rom, i wiped and flashed stock w/ goodies rooted.
I still had the problem with that ROM.
I went on craigslist and bought a new evo lte 4g. stock. not rooted.
after a week or so i had the same problems.
Do you think this is due to the # of accounts and contacts??
I use goSMS and stock messaging. It is also noticable in dialer and people app.

Anybody else experiencing FC of many programs after installing this kernel? It seemed fine for roughly an hour, but then most, if not all, of my applications would FC. Went back to 1.03 and no longer experiencing the FC.

Data Usage Monitor not working

I have upgraded to ICS manually using the deodexed version of the stock sprint rom. I noticed that the data usage monitor does not work at all. It does not display that any usage has occurred. Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?
A few roms I've tried have this problem. I'm wondering if some HTC apk that spies on you was removed and broke it.

So I checked on my Dad's unrooted, stock, upgraded via ota ICS Sprint Evo3d phone and his data usage was being monitored in settings. So, something is being or was changed on the initial rooted roms that all the other roms are based on.
hey buddy, i had a similar issue after flashing to ICS from GB. i read a ton and found that i needed to go into settings/mobile network/access point names and set up my access points. i am on GSM and found it in one of the threads under the general section or maybe you can look at your dad's and see what the access points are.
hope this works
good luck

[Q] In Call Audio (microphone) Issue

I've been running cm10 on my jewel for awhile now, and lately the people on the other end of my phone calls have been complaining that I sound extremely muffled or distant, to the point that a phone call is almost impossible. I've contacted sprint and they say everything looks good on their end. Does anyone know the cause of this issue, or a fix?
Thanks in advance

I just posted the same question because I seemed to miss this thread. After poking around, I haven't been able to fix this either. It started right after the commit that played with the mic volumes. I have changed them back and built myself, but no luck so far. Does anyone know if there is an official bug ticket(if there is such a thing for CM)?

U get anywhere with this? On my third phone and it happens every time I root and install CM10.1 although the prob remains eben if I go back to sense based ROM. This is so frustrating and this is my primary work phone. Idk how its just u and I? I'm assuming with sprint being aware along with/ tech support /multipl3 replacements/weekly complaints - that they will allow me an early upgrade for the One or S4. Whichever is first because this has been a nightmare . Bluetooth the only usable format for voice calls. Headphones / earpiece ..."SORRY Sir are you on speaker phone I can barely hear you"...NOOO IM NOT ON SPEAKER ARGH... Sorry everyone for rant

A full wipe and flashing a sense ROM should fix it for you guys. If the problem persists after that there could be something physically wrong with the mic
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Thank you, but will flashing the stock ROM, then flashing back to CM10.1 still solve the problem? I don't want to run the stock Sense ROM.
Sent from my GT-P5110 using xda app-developers app
You don't have to do that. I had the same problem when i flashed a certain CM10.1 rom (cm10.1 black from swiperrat i believe). I simply wiped everything and installed irocevo's unofficial CM10.1 4.2.2 (the one with xperia z launcher and acid audio mod) and i was apparently perfectly clear after that. Give the rom a try, it fixed my issues.

same issue here, any solution found? it seems to be an issue of all aosp roms I download.
have you guys all tried Sense ROMs to see if they fix your problem? otherwise you might be in ipclark1's situation (i.e. a problem with the actual mic rather than a software issue).
i had no mic issues whatsoever on kushdeck's build:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2110920
no it works just fine with stock sense rom, so it must be a software issue

WiFi Error

Can someone please help me? I've searched posts here and EVERYWHERE online to no avail and still no fix. My WiFi stopped working, won't turn on and just reads "error" My Bluetooth is the same but don't really worry about that. I have HTC Evo 4g lte S-on baseband 1.12.11.809 rooted running Viper 4g 3.0.1 ROM. Logcat states Driver failed to load etc... It hasn't been working since I was on 2.0.2 but know that ROM wasn't the issue either because it was running fine while on it, just stopped one day. Any help is appreciated.

Nice. So download ruu then install.. Fix problem.. Hopefully... Then reinstall custom ROM? Or will the ruu make me have to root it again?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Reverting to stock ROM + stock kernel should fix the problem (I'm not familiar with HTC, so suppose that RUU=stock ROM full flash).
This will also tell you if the HW is OK.
Then you can try to flash the custom ROM again.
Good luck.
You will have to root again after reverting to stock ruu. I didn't get a chance to go and try due to having my kiddos (single father) I'm going to try this sometime this week. I will however keep in touch and let you know bud.
