Hello!
I installed the new walkman and when i tried to insert the line for clearaudio in build.prop i somehow deleted all the lines and now i have a blank build.prop. The phone is working now becouse i didn`t reboot it but now i dont know what to do. It`s a rooted LWW with stock ics .587. I have done a nand backup with cwm before that. Can i restore this with cwm? I also have a build.prop.bak file in system folder
Thank you for your help

If you did a nandroid backup, you should just be able to flash that.
Or try running build.prop.bak through a text editor and seeing what's in it.

See the build.prop.bak file, delete build.prop and rename build.prop.bak to build.prop. This should work fine
And normally the build.prop shouldn't affect the boot...
Edit: Okay look like it could affect the boot
U can't modify build.prop using root explorer. Use build.prop editor application such as rom toolbox or similar.

It's worth making sure the permissions are the same as well.

This will not work by default in stock.You have to change one binary value in bools.xml in framework-res.apk and then edit build.prop.Follow this tutorial and then edit build.prop.

Did you use apktool to edit the values,put resources.arsc in the original and then copied modified framework-res.apk into the /system/framework/framework-res.apk ? Was it copied there? If not check that root explorer is mounted in read/write mode.Same for build.prop.I think you didn't copy it.

I made all steps wisely result is a bootloop with white screen
I am sick of it!!
I tried all stuff but that **** animation will not work.
I think it only works if the coderomv1 is flashed with the stock rom there is no way to get that animation working i tried all with the framework-res.apk no success with a theme no success i give up now no crt animation for me because i don´t know what can i do only flashing the coderomv1 but that i wouldn´t do because i not want the coderomv1.

You had to set permisssions after copying framework-res.apk -rw -r -r.same with build.prop
With CRT animation enabled,you will lose your samsung boot screen in stock kph....I have managed to enable boot screen animation only through cf-root kernel.I don't have coderom but crt is enabled through this method and have brought custom boot animation through cf-root kernel.

2.Open the zip using winrar and delete framework-res.apk and build.prop from it
3.Reboot into recovery and flash the zip
4.Using root explorer navigate to systen and add the following lines at the end of your build.prop
ro.drm.active.num=4
ro.drm.active.0=semc,1
ro.drm.active.1=cmla,0
ro.drm.active.2=viaccess,0
ro.drm.active.3=marlin,1
#ro.semc.product.name=robyn
#ro.semc.product.device=robyn
#ro.semc.product.model=robyn
ro.semc.sols.product-code=83
ro.semc.sols.company-code=5
persist.ro.ril.sms_sync_sending=1
# Disable strict mode checking
persist.android.strictmode=0
ro.service.swiqi.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi.enable=1
# fix for screen redraw
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1
For timescape add the following lines
# Timescape Mode
ro.semc.timescape_keys=Sony_Ericsson_Xperia
#ro.semc.timescape_keys=Sony_Ericsson_Xperia_PLAY
If you are using mini pro change 'robyn' to 'mimmi' while adding the text to build.prop
5.Save the file and reboot

There are several files inside the zip. Do we have to copy files to corresponding system folders and set permission individually or can we flash the zip through recovery after removing the build.prop?

Don flash the update directly... extract the contents of the zip file and delete build.prop from it... then using root explorer go to system/build.prop and add the lines from attachment file in post 3 to it... copy the other files to their appropriate locations, set proper permissions and reboot

We must have to flash it through cwm and then edit the build.prob.
If we move all the files to their respective location then while moving files to system/framework the framework.apk will be replaced and then it will start force close the rootexplorer and we wont be able to set its permission to 644!! Thus framework will get changed and we will be unable to change its permission and also we cant open setting and many other things that are framework dependent!!! finally we need to factory reset or reinstall the rom!
It happened with me so I'm warning you!!!
So just flash the file then after edit the build.prob using cwm as this app integration needs to replace the framework!!

Hi
I have this problem with my friends galaxy ace GT-S5839i:
I need someone to help me here because I don't know what to do
I pulled the file framework-res.apk from system and then changed the extension to zip, and changed an image inside one of the folders.
After that I zipped the pack again (tried several zip options) and changed the extension back to apk
My first question: Is this ok?
I copied the changed file to sdcard and using es explorer moved the file to system/framework. Imediately After answering if I wanted to overwrite the phone freezes and never booted again.
I restored the rom and tried several times with same result
I tought the problem would be trying to overwrite a file that's in use but then I found a tool the decompiled the original apk, changed the image, compiled and signed it and made a flashable zip of it.
It gsve always error in trying to flash this on recovery so I extrated the compiled and signed new framwork apk and moved it to system with es explorer... The difference now is that it didn't froze the phone but started to show fc's everywhere. Rebooted, wipede cash and dalvik, messed up woth permissions... Everything I could think of and the result os always tbe same...
Please can amyone share a light here?
Thanks

Edit: Nothing I found there worked...
The only solution was install a different rom (previously had a stock rooted 2.3.6) v4.1
Changed the framework file from the rom and flashed it...
Its working now but still don't know why the previous actions didn't work
Thanks

Extract syste.sin from ICS FTF (Winth 7-Zip or other) then with flashtool SIN editor extract system.ext4 then with ext4_unpacker you can extract any file you want.
You can save your current build.prop and merge the tweaks later,
IMO it's better to have a working phone with no tweaks than a phone with tweaks that doesn't work, others may have different opinion.
