How long does it take to recharge your phone. ...or I must be user to fast charging on my gnex...

No idea I bought the spare charging system and yesterday one charge lasted 13 hours with 7 hours of screen on with 1 battery. Just let it charge overnight.

The battery on this phone is much larger than the battery in the Galaxy Nexus, so it will naturally take longer to charge.
It's like filling the gas tank on a car with a 10 gallon tank versus filling the gas tank on truck with a 20 gallon tank. There's more space available to fill, so it takes longer.

6 hours seems like too long.
With the stock 3100 mah battery, I discharged mine until it shut down, and put it on the charger, and booted it back up. This was at 9:54am. Now is is 11:39am, and it is at 85%. I figure about 2 hours (give or take) for a full charge. This is using the stock charger and cable. Note that the charger is a 10W charger (5V at 2.0A) - this is bigger than the chargers on my previous phones. Not sure if it is pushing the full 2 amps to the phone or not - Battery Monitor Widget Pro is indicating about 1300ma (not 2000ma), but I am not sure if this is showing the true current.

I'm not sure I understand your statement. If it takes 2.5 hours to charge a 3100 mah battery, it should take a little over 3 hours to charge a 3800 mah battery (assuming you aren't using it while it is charging).
Are you saying that the stock charger takes 6 hours to charge your extended battery?

It takes that long to charge with the stock charger. He said he's not using a stock charger. The charger he's using probably puts out power at a lower rate than the stock charger. This would cause the charging time to increase.
Now I understand. He is probably using a 1 amp charger - my Galaxy Nexus charger is a 5VDC, 1amp.
takes 2 hours from 20% so is safe to say that it will take 2:30min to fully charge for 0

guys it was 1h 15mins on htc desire. battery draining time feels same but 3 times more charging time.
Mine was left on when charging, but next to no use when charging. Never turned a phone off to charge.
Samsung chargers usually have an output of 700mA at 5v while HTC's have 1A at 5v meaning HTC's will charge faster.
Charging batteries faster with higher amperage chargers does save time, but the batteries also usually discharge faster and will degrade over a shorter period of time than would be the case when using more "mild" chargers with lower amperage.
If you plan on charging your phones at night while you sleep, choosing the lower amp charger will give you better battery life (and you won't have to worry about the fact that it takes 3 hours to charge).

I remember when the SGS was first announced it was put across strongly by Samsung not to charge the phone overnight.
They said it was wrong to leave the phone connected when fully charged.
I have not heard anything this time for the SGS II.
Guys my SGS2 is taking around 4+ hrs to charge from around 5% left. Is this normal.?
Yep takes 4 hours here too

What's the rated output on the wall charger?
I think this is by design as the phone already gets extremely hot when pushing the CPU (gaming etc).
I believe this can eventually be changed with custom rom/kernel.

5v @ 0.7A, by the looks of it this is normal.
thanks for responce peps. Never had a phone that took so long to charge.! Normally about an hour which is why i thought i may have had a problem with the handset.!
S2 stock Optus KE2 with it remained turned on with wifi, email checking etc using Energizer XP8000 battery as power source for charge went from 24% reminaing to 100% charged in ~2hrs. S2 internally seems to limit it to <700mah charge rate.
Find a Iphone4 charger or something similar it will give you 5v @ 1.0A, charges quite a bit faster, I use that at work then the slow .7 at home.
my XP8000 charges at 1000mah but S2 will limit it to 700mah
I think you could charge the battery alone in a dock. There it should load with the full 5V and 1ah..

Ah forgot about that. But it's kind of pain removing that battery cover.

Anywhere you can back this up? I seem to have faster results using a 1.0 vs .7, showing that it is getting more power.
It's been mentioned a few times across various forums. But i'm just going by my experience.
It also takes me around 4 hours to fully charge from below 5% battery. However, if I turn the phone off whilst it charges, goes slightly quicker. Obviously.
Hi,
I think the recharging time is quiet normal for such a phone (and battery).
I had to charge the battery of a friend's phone these days with my notebook.
And it took some hours from 30%. (HTC DHD)
About the same for my SGSII.
I think thats normal.
what would we do without electricity?
Dead phone that is fully discharged battery phone off stock charger to 100%
sub 3 hours .

Changed handset yesterday. today charged new phone from 5% and it took 3hrs 4mins. So it looks like i may have had either a dodgy charger or batt.
I am charging with supplied charger(5V / 0.7A) ...
During the charging I turn off my phone but the charging time is still 3-4h -.-
As soon as I got this phone I noticed it takes a lot longer to charge than the epic 4g touch. From 40% to 100% takes a little over 5 hours. On the E4GT from 0-100 it took about 2.5-3 hours at most. Anyone else experiencing this or do I have a sour battery?
Yep, same 1A charger I used with my previous phone and battery is only 200mAh bigger, 2100 vs. 1900, and it takes so much longer to charge. Looking into 2A chargers yesterday & today.

Not for me. My phone charges (on wall) in less than 3 hours. Maybe 2 1/2. But never more than 3. But at the same time, my battery life is ****. Just leaving it alone for 40 minutes I lost 8%. Now when I use it, it just shoots down. I've had it off the charger for less than 2 hours this morning and I'm at 76 percent. 1 of those hours was just driving.

It is your USB cable, change it, the cable i got with my S3 did the same slow charge but when i used the cable that came with my OG Epic and my Blackberry cable(using the same charger that came with the S3) it charged really fast.

Ya its funny you should say that I was actually thinking of trying a different cable. Ill try the one that came with my E4GT that always charged my epic in about 2 and a half hours.
Hello everyone,I would like to ask you guys about Samsung S3 charging rate which can be considers either slow, moderate or fast.
Well I think my device has slow charging rate, lets say it dropped to 15% of battery,it takes me about 5-7 hours to fully charge.
I have searched via Google, slow charging rate seems like a common issue to S3 owners, yet none of those results show the time taken to charge.
I would like to listen to your experience,as not everyone would charge their device as same as my battery value,so please leave your reply from any value (you think) to fully charge and how long it takes.
Thank you very much, each of your reply is appreciated.
Are we talking USB charging or AC charging here?
Sv: Average Charging Hours
Yesterday it took 2 hours to charge 55% with the ac adaptor.
Skickat från min GT-I9300 via Tapatalk 2
Max 3 hours to fully charge (0 to 100%) via AC charger.

Remember charge times are going to be affected by battery condition/apps running /syncing etc so a rough answer is really all you can hope for
zero to 100% average time 3Hours .
jje
Average time around 3 hours but not with the Samsung charger, With the Samsung charger I get around 4 to 5 hours and as far as I know I am not the only one. I measure the output from the Samsung charger and I get 4.7 volts. In a way that could explain the long charging hours for the Sami charger.
2 to 2 ½ hours from 5%~15% to 100%, no mobile data, no wifi, no apps running.
~3hours with normal setup. I normally get 1.5~2% standby drain, if that's any help in comparing battery charge rate..

2.5 - 3 hours, from 2% - 100% using the stock charger and USB cable. There is an app in the general forum which tells you at what mAh the phone is charging. Ensure that you're charging at 1000mAh and the charging will be faster.
Edit: Here is the app - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36124435
Make sure to read the entire thread to get an idea of the charging current. It's not too long.

I got a new Xperia Z2, bought last Monday from an online italian shopping site. I charged it about three times already, with its original Sony micro-USB charger, and it takes 3 hour to charge from 15% to 100%, is this normal? My charger is 1.5A, is this right? I got a G2 before this Sony, with a 1.8A charger and it charges really fast, why Sony put a little charger for a bigger battery?
3 hours is alright.

Is possible to charge it with a bigger charger? For example 1.8A or 2A. Do I have some time improvement? Because 3 hour is too damn long to wait :\ my G2 charges 5% to full in at least 2 hour and half
