Yes, you can.
But you can first try to wipe cache and data. I hope you have a backup...

I have Xperia Ray with 2.3.4 latest firmware which is rooted and CWM recovery installed. Its on Stock and bootLoader is NOT unlocked..
Its getting slow after I flooded it with too many applications.. Now I want to reset it but RETAIN ROOT and CWM Recovery.. is it possible?
EDIT: How the **** did I act so Stupid and Noob..
*face palm*
Its in CWM Recovery Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
Problem Solved.. thank you..
As with another android, yes you can. It wont erase them. They will be gone if you reflash with seus or flashtool(if you go with stock rom that is). Btw have you tried to follow my tutorial below? you might not have to reset then.
Hey thanks for the Reply.. Actually I just want to restore my Xperia Ray without flashing any ROM... Just want to make it clean..
Btw.. why isnt there any stock optomized custom with Stock Kernel here in Ray Development section?
I want stock Rom with stock kernel with all bloatware removed and should be superfast..
any Rom of this kind available here?

On what rom are you? Since you have unlocked flash a kernel which supports your rom.... Then you will get cwm... Then you can flash some font zip to try getting back your rom...or go back to stock with flashtool but you will lose your data this way...

Thank's for sharing, i tried but no luck!!
Anyway FINALY i used this method and its WORKING
When I thought I was about to sell my phone for parts (from almost all .ftf's and kernels- One final attempt:
--I started with a "locked bootloader" - forced pushed cwm-reg.img and installed superuser.apk - Here
--When I got the chance of going into recovery...
Wipe/Factory reset
Wipe Cache
Format System
Format Data
Format Cache
--Flash .62 ftf
--Fastboot XKernel
Boot into recovery
--Installed hybrom v10 (twice - what? I was hopeless and with a little faith made the 2nd install anyway)
--Booted into hybrom v10 (no response whatsoever)
Pulled battery (no way of turning it off)
--Flashed .62 ftf again and prayed (preparing to leave home and go to the nearest used-phone shop to sell my ST15i)
@ First boot everything was back to normal...
After 2 days I have a smile on my face...

Your touch screen was not working on any rom ( ICS or GB) ????? because i have touch screen problem only on ICS roms and on GB rom it is working perfectly. will the above mentioned solution work for ICS roms as well???
Hi guys, I'm in a deadlock situation trying to recover my Xperia Ray. It just stuck at Sony logo. I know there is a lot of topics with the same issue, I've tried all that I could and most of the instructions that I can find on the internet, but not luck.
Here is what I've done but unfortunately, none works:
1) Install Sony Update Service, select Xperia Ray and reinstall the latest firmware. [Result: Successful, but still stuck at Sony Logo]
2) Download the .ftf (I flashed almost all version, GB, JB etc) , wipe everything, and flashed using flashtool. [Result: Successfully flashed, but still stuck at Sony Logo]
3) Unlock the bootloader, using Flashtool, I flashed several custom kernel and rom combination, (Lupus, Xkernel, Ice Bean Rom, MIUI rom, Xperia HD rom). [Result: Successfully flashed the custom kernel and rom, CWM from the kernel loads fine to flash the rom, but after flashing, still stuck, this time at the kernel's logo]
4) Relock the bootloader, tried to reflash the firmware using Sony Update Service again. [Result: Successfull, but stuck at Sony logo, again]
That's it, please help me, anyone have any idea on what can I do to solve this? Is it possible that this is the hardware defect, not software?
I'll really appreciate your help.
please someone help us :'(
Even i am stuck in the same situation :'( have tried out the same steps as above :/ still no success
Please some one try to help in order to get our rays working :/
Anyone? My last resort would be to send the phone to Sony service centre and see what they can do.
guys, now im on this situation too. i have no idea what should i do next. you guys can solve it ?
