[Q] Themes for CM10 roms - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

I'm on a freshly rooted 8GB NT. I would like to apply a theme but don't know where to look or if it's safe with the current CM10 roms available. Has anyone tried this and got it to work?
Thank you.

Alien Droid has some themes (and a customization "store") built in.
I haven't tried to theme, but I would think as long as the theme itself is compatible it should work (not sure if it needs to be an hdpi theme or an mdpi theme, though).
Perhaps someone who has tried can chime in, though.

You can download themes from the Google play store. There are some free and some paid. Go to themes in settings and select the theme you want to apply. If it says it was improperly compiled, you will need to change our LCD density to 133 in the build.prop temporarily. Reboot then try to apply the theme again. If it says it doesn't have all the assets, select apply anyway. Your theme should be applied now, so change our LCD density back to whatever it was before and reboot. That's all I think.

[Metamorph] Gingerbread Theme for Dexter's XT720 Froyo 1.2a

http://www.mediafire.com/file/k05505q4crag72v/gingerbread_dexfroyo11.zip
ported from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929646
You need Metamorph from the Market to install this.
Be sure to make a Nandroid backup before applying.
This is untested, so apply at your own risk.
P.S. I wasn't able to modify the resources.arsc without bootlooping, so the menu remains gray
---
Gingerbread animations - http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...spys-gingerbread-for-cm61-v131-updated-13-12/
Works on my XT720; Install only the animations
I installed this through Metamorph and found that it led to a reboot every time the phone was unlocked after the initial boot. Did I do something wrong or is this a bug?
It didn't work for me. When the phone was rebooted it would load up to the lock screen but would reboot as soon as I tried to unlock it.
for riley and 3rdstring
what version of dexter's rom do you apply this theme?
v1.2 or v1.2a ?
Now that you mention it I was running 1.2 not 1.2a (Doh!!). I'll have to try again sometime.
There are two subthemes.
The first subtheme should work for other versions as well.
However, the white clock probably works only for 1.2a.
Perhaps you could just try applying the first subtheme? Although that would mean your clock would be invisible ;P
I'm running 1.2a.
Maybe I'll try applying only a subtheme.
I'm sorry, I included some extra animations when I thought I'd removed them. That's why it reboots when trying to unlock the lockscreen because it's trying to do an animation which doesn't exist.
Here's the fixed version,
mediafire.com/file/k05505q4crag72v/gingerbread_dexfroyo11.zip
it should work now (I hope)
yeah..its work..thank's..
please port another theme for us..
Great port! Works now, thanks!
Can you confirm that the transition theme works that you linked above? It says they are for a CM6 ROM on a Hero (I think).
Love the versatility of metamorphs - thank you for this been looking for ages!
Works on 1.2 too.
Works great on 1.1b (stuck here due to problem trying to install the porte themes from the other thread in the fourm), no issues so far.
I've tried Krispy Gingerbread animations and they work fine. Just don't install the others

thanks a lot for your work.I just applied the theme onto my dexter froyo v1.2 and it works fine. I applied both the theme and the animations as suggested in previous threads. However I am new and I have several questions.
After applying the theme, the icons did not change. Are they supposed to?
Also, I dont get those custom buttons at the bottom of the screen as shown in your screenshot. How do I get them?
thank you!

[THEMEish] Theme Eraser for NFX and MikShift updated 4/4/11

This is just a zip you can flash to erase whatever theme you are using (for stock ROM). This will install all stock apps, stock frameworks, fonts and boot animation. I use this when I'm testing themes. Much better than re-installing stock ROM because you don't have to do any wipes (keeping all your apps and settings) and it will keep your OC kernel active. Also much quicker than re-installing stock or restoring nandroid
Disclaimer:
I'm not responsible for anything that may happen to your phone.
Changelog:
3/26/2011 Updated with nfinites 2.0 ROM deodex.
New! 4/4/11 Mikshift 1.1 version available (odex).
Instructions:
Make a nandroid just in case. Use CWM 2.5 or 3.x to flash (uses edify scripting). Busybox must be installed to flash.
Download:
Theme Eraser NFX (deodex) updated 3/26/11
Theme Eraser MikShift (odex) updated 4/4/11
Appreciate this. This is very handy and useful much better and faster than restoring nandriod

Ok, I'm coming from the moment and everything seems to be a little more confusing on the shift. I just perm-rooted my shift yesterday. Now I'm looking to theme it. I haven't installed any roms or different kernals yet, because I'm really confused on which one to do, cause a lot of them say something is broken.
So what i wanted to do was apply the cyan dragon theme. So I assume this theme eraser acts like a theme template and I have to use it before applying any theme.
Now the next problem I'm having I can't even download this or the cyan theme. Every time I click on the download link I get directed to the dropbox site and I get a 403 error. I even tried creating my own account and logging in and still don't know how to get the file. Don't know if its a dropbox problem but I've been trying since last night. I've never used dropbox before so maybe I have to do something different to get the file. Unless it's an xda thing and I don't have proper permission to download this file.
Any help would be appreciated, cause I really want to theme this bad boy.

This is not a theme template per se. You don't need to use this to flash a theme. This is for when (for example) your on cyan dragon and you decide you want to try a blue theme. This puts framework, apps, ect back to default (using nfinites rom as a base deodex) since not all themes have the same themed apps and you don't want to have some themed apps leftover on the wrong theme. This is also much faster than reflashing a rom, keeping all your apps and settings. If you're trying to flash cyan dragon then I recommend flashing nfinitefx45's stock 2.0 rom found in android developement first. The issue with the links is dropbox related and I'm planning on moving everything to multiupload later on today, then ill update the links.

Hey Dread,
If running the NFX Odex ROM, then which of the two versions would you recommend?

Its suggested to do so. If you flash a theme over a theme there might be residual themed apps leftover as not all themes theme the same apps.

Its a metamorph so know how that works if you don't already.

Let me know how it goes and note that for whatever reason you may have to apply it twice.

Because the red persona provided within Khalpower's V4 update is ugly & awful! By the way, can you find the email (not gmail) app with this update?

I've had good luck with this. After ZipThemer builds the update.zip (& the undo.zip) I just move the zip files from the root of my sdcard to /openrecovery/updates, reboot to OpenRecovery & apply the update.

Yes, you were right, it works now! 2 minor missing things:
- Time on status bar is written in white
- Unlock sliders didn't change, still havine red persona (ugly!) ones.
Thanks

Here is a vanilla one from droidpirate.com
http://droidpirate.com/2011/02/27/metamorph-lock-screen-light-vanilla-alt/
I am partial to my r2d2 lock. Also from droidpirate
He has some sweet metamorphs and since we now share similar droidx/2 framework, a lot of his will work on ours.
As for the time, I have to edit services.jar and don't have time to right now - uni exams.
Ill post it when I do it though, unless another kind chap will do so.
and don't be afraid to hit the thanks button!
i use d bbt black theme developed by khal....with v4 rom
great outlook....fast n stable

Couldn't get it to work. Tried with a working MM and got the .zip file but OR just aborted it when I tried using it as an update.
Did you change the update script format? (Edify HTC Generic works for me)
Tried with HTC generic and got bootloops. Didn't format but don't usually need to. Ill try formatting later to see though.
Any other settings you have differently?

Not that I know of. Apply the update wipe the Dalvik & cache reboot. Iv'e tried a couple & got bootloops but the undo option has always worked for me.
I sort of got it working. Are you able to apply it while you have another theme to restore a theme made by theme zipper?

I've combined multiple morphs into one update.zip but I haven't tried adding a ZipThemer theme into the mix. Looking at the ZipThemer output files I would think that as long as you're theming different apks you could build multiple updates but if you're targeting the same file you either have to incorporate multiple themes into one update or apply one update before building another. (Does that make sense?)
Hmm I was half asleep when I wrote that let me rephrase.
If I make an update.zip with theme A and later on flash theme B (a completely different theme) if I want to go back to theme A, can I flash that update zip created in themezipper?
This is what I'm trying to do so I can give out my themes.
However it only bootloops if I apply update.zip(A) to theme B
Sent from my XT720 using XDA App
Sorry, I haven't really tied anything like that but if your're theming the same files ti doesn't make sense to me.

[Q] How I can set a default theme on CM9? [NOT RESOLVED]

Hello XDA, and my question is: ''How I can set default theme on CM9?'' :good:
In CM7, I modify build.prop and set default theme trought parameters: persist.sys.themeId= & persist.sys.themePackageName=.
But, how in CM9? Doesn't appear this parameters in build.prop of CM9.
HOW!?
PD: How I can set default?... WHEN YOU INSTALL MY CM9 ROM!
Help me, please! :crying:
Thanks! Cheers!
Hey, what can you see if you go to settings, under "interface" tab, go to Themes
Provide any screenshot

No. What I mean is I am finishing up an new ICS ROM. And I want a different theme to boot into DEFAULT the first time it boots without the person to need to select it. Example: Sense4 Theme in Cyanogenmod's theme chooser. Have that one boot as default the first time after initial install of Custom ROM instead of System theme. "WHERE IS THAT SETTING LOCATED!" I Know how to choose a theme in theme chooser.

In CM7 you can choose the default theme by editing the build prop. Then when that CM7 rom is installed, that custom theme is used instead. There has to be a way in CM9 too. HELP I'm not making one for X10 but found this Post asking the same question I am asking. This answer would help alot of us Devs

Themer and CM12 based roms

Hello there,
thank you for developing themer, i follow you since the first time.
It works like a charm on KK but now I am testing the new CM12 on my SGS2 and when I try to apply a theme Themer download and apply it but it is "resized" or messed up.
Anyone else is experiencing this issue? Any help?
EDIT
It seems that certain ROMS modify the original sgs2 DPI (im referring here to ResurrectionRemix ROM) and so themes are loaded broken.

Themer works best with stock DPI. If you set your DPI to stock and then clear Themer's cache and data. Should work after that.
