I searched the internet and found the proper way. I downloaded the first upgrade released from the (in my case) verizon website. And using Archive Manager to extract the "ruu_signed.nbh" from the .exe file and renamed it "rhodimg.nbh". Copied and pasted it in SD card. Then I booted in tri-color screen. It installed and I got my WinMo phone back.
Thanks XDA, well, for other stuff.. .

The SD card method is one of the ways to flash. Glad you got it sorted out.

I'm getting the error [262] Update Error.

I was putting my Titan back down to stock so I could enable GPS (I had it working, but it stopped when I activated my Centro to get data back). Anyways, I forgot to unplug and plug back in the USB. Now no matter what I do It's telling me that the ROM Update utility has encountered communication errors with the device. I should also probably mention that I can still get to the boot loader itself. Any ideas?

How do I do that if I can't get to Windows Mobile to run the nueSPL executable?
Maybe you should have done some reading before you got into this flashing.

I actually did quite a bit of reading before flashing. My problem is that I didn't disconnect the USB cable like I should have when flashing back to the original boot loader. It stopped and now I'm stuck. I tried putting the bootloader the relocker tried to install on the SD card and named it TITAIMG, but it gets stuck at the gray screen saying "loading...". I tried the exitbl but it tells me that it can't find any sessions. I tried running the program again, but I wind up with communication errors. That's why I'm asking for help now, I've tried everything I've found to try...

What carrier do you have? Did you run the "GetBackToStockXV6800"?
What radio, Bootloader are you running?
"I tried putting the bootloader the relocker tried to install" (PLEASE CLAIRIFY).
I think it may be working now. I went back to what drew said about using the SD and I tried the one file I hadn't tried. I had tried all of the .nbh files in the directory (stock radio and bootloader), but not the stock ROM itself. I had assumed that since the program quit halfway through flashing the bootloader hadn't installed properly. It would appear I was wrong. So, thanks for the help, Drew, and thanks for being so willing to help cac2us.

Your welcome,
Have you decided to go with a custom ROM, or are you ready to try PPC Kitchen (BuildOS)?
Keep in mind, if you flash a custom ROM with programs that you later want to update with newer versions, you may not be able to uninstall the original versions.
I'm thinking I'll try PPC kitchen. My biggest problem now is deciding how badly I want windows mobile 6.5. I love the touch friendly GUI and the desktop version of IE, but I'm not able to run TVU or Pandora because they use more memory than I have available.

I found that "ZOOM BROWSER" is quite a hog. And "Titanium" eats more than "SPB Mobile Shell 3".
And with "NueKernel", 6+mb. from the camera is just a soft reset away.
But I mainly load apps that I can't find a cab file for, so when an update comes out, I can just update without re-coocking the ROM.
Enjoy.

image gone, and ROMS do not install... am i bricked?

i was recently at the movies (prince of persia =P ) and i accidentally left my screen on in my pocket... after the movie was over i took my phone out and all i saw was a multi colored screen with red green blue white (boot loader?) i tried everything to restart my phone to get back to my Os but seems everything was somehow wiped clean. i got home and have been spending all day trying to install new roms and each time when i run the RUU updater, it says image: (blank), the installer still runs and seems likes it works but no rom is installing i am still stuck with the multi colored screen. how can i salvage my phone, what could be wrong? =/ thx guys
i tried installing a new rom from the bootloader screen while connected via usb... but everything i try gets stuck at 0% and doesnt do anything... my hardspl is currently not unlocked and i am constantly trying to install the Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.exe and everytime... stuck at 0% on the phone..
Try the flash from memory card method:
1. Find a ROM that would be compatible with your phone, and download the nbh file. (I would recommend Original Carrier ROM - There is copies all over forums - that way it will flash everything, including the radio)
2. Plug your memory card to a computer and verify/format the card into FAT32 file system
3. Copy the ROM file (usually RUU_Signed.nbh) into the memory card directly (not inside any folder) and rename to RAPHIMG.nbh
4. Reboot the phone
5. When it reboots into three-color screen again, there should be a message that in order to flash you need to press Power button or so. Do it.
6. After your phone is working again, you might flash it with another ROM if you like.
Let me know...
Good luck
try theses two options, either flash back to stock rom which might fix the issue, but before you do that just flash a radio to the phone that should fix the issue

That's the reason I recommended flashing stock ROM. Verizon released Maintenance Release, which is a complete reflash with radio and everything.
You could get Verizon complete file from: http://pcdphones.com/phone_downloads.aspx?bid=110&cid=1&mid=328&carrier=Verizon Wireless
You didn't specify which carrier you are with so I can't help any further. Just remember to extract the .nbh file from inside instead of putting a whole .zip file on the memory card. I hope I didn't come across wrong.

dude there is so much information about this exact topic, just use the bloody search button. Or even just read a few topics like the magldr one etc.
a) plug in usb
b) boot into bootloader (volume down on power on)
c) flash your windows mobile rom.
or
a) rename the rom to leoimg.nbh and stick on memory card.
b) boot into bootloader.

First thing to do, find the CORRECT stock rom for your device.
Second, extract the stock rom, find the file name: .nbh and rename it to: leoimg.nbh
Third, get a formated micro SD (sandisk 8GB or less, is okay) and put the file leoimg.nbh in the root directory of micro sd card
Four, make sure your battery capacity is more than 50%, turn of the device, and put your micro sd at the slot of the device.
Five, press VOLUME DOWN button and POWER ON button (keep pressing until the 4 colors screen appears on your device)
Six, follow the instruction on the screen.
Good luck
thanq.. i got the issue solved, Thank you
SPL - 2.08.0000 is stock spl, not hacked spl.
I Ran it again this time I chose 2.08.hspl and it solved everything

Did you try the SD flashing method? If so what is the size of your SD Card?
You can put the phone into Bootloader Mode, then connect to the PC. Run the ROM (if Vista or Win7 then make sure you run it as an administrator). Sometimes you need to run it a couple of times. Try doing this flash without the SD card - it shouldn't make a difference, but it will at least eliminate a faulty SD Card.
I Checked all the process.
Even i tried
I Gb SD
4 Gb SD
8 Gb SD
and even i Tried from Windows 7 to update ROM
Nothing Working Fine

Sorry to ask, but can you go into boot loader screen?
If the answer is yes, you still can flash the stock rom
Keep trying and retrying mate.
Try reformat your micro sd with fat32. Try different brand of micro sd (sandisk never fails me down )
Make sure the rom you downloaded is the CORRECT STOCK ROM and is not corrupt (be careful of interrupted download, it may corrupt the file)
Don't forget to extract the rom file using 7zip or winrar and find the file name "RUU_signed.nbh" and rename it to "leoimg.nbh" and copy it to the ROOT DIRECTORY of micro sd.
Make sure your battery is more than 50%
try to remove your sim card before flashing.
Now go into boot loader mode and follow the onscreen instruction
Good luck
Yes I Can go Into Bootloader
Even I purchased Yesterday a new 8 GB ScanDisk S Card.
I formatted it (Not Quick ) Fat32.
I Tried the Following ROMs
RUU_Leo_HTC_ARA_1.66.415.4_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship
RUU_Leo_HTC_ARA_1.66.415.9_Radio_15.37.50.07U_2.10.50.08_2_Signed_LEO_Ship
My Mobile Batter is 100%
After Extraction I Renamed (LEOIMG.nbh)
But I see the Following Message
Loading....
and after then nothing
I am Really Stuck

What happens when you reflash a hspl? I mean, I heard windows mobile roms where having difficulties with the hpsl 2 version, and needed the 3.
Be sure to check though, I only gopt my hd2 for a few days and am still very noobish with this phone, I got some experience with flashing though, before the hd2 I owned a touch pro for a year, before that phone I owned a HTC kaiser for a year, and before that I owned a ipaq 6515 (never was able to flash this one, no suitable roms).
I would like to get winmo back,i purchased leo with nandroid but i dont like it.
How can i know is it hardspl or what version is ? Thanks in advance.

What can I do?
Thanks for help.

Did you try and flash again.....??
If your still getting bootloader then you should be ok.
Hi,
I tried flashing via SDCard which doesn't work. Flashing with a stock rom or custom rom doesn't work. I always get the message:
ERROR [266]: The update utility cannot get the response from your PDA Phone.....
ROMs tried: Artemis v550 with SSPL_RUU
TMO stock rom: HTC HD2_RUU_Leo_HTC_GER_1.66.407.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship and ruu_leo_s_tmo_de_3.14.111.1_radio_15.42.50.11u_2.15.50.14_leo_s_ship

I don't see HSPL on that bootloader screen. Try extracting the .nbh file from the shipped ROM and putting THAT on your sdcard. When you execute the .exe you download, it puts a copy of all the files (including the .nbh) in the same directory; these will be deleted later, but you can simply copy it to another location while the updater is working.
Hi,
any idea what I could do/try?
Thanks,
highchain
So I take one off the nbh put them on the SDcard and boot?
I will give it a try

Can you put HSPL4 on the device?
Found on another thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=927000
This person had that error message, but it was caused by his using the wrong "stock" ROM.
I tried the one which was on there. It was the latest dutty. Grey screen loading, but nothing happens.
I put only the nbh on the SD renamed to LEOIMG.nbh
Any more hints?
Cheers,
highchain
Are you sure you tried to flash the original, "native" stock ROM via SD card?
The picture you attached to the first posting clearly showed SPL 1.42.0000, means, you could not flash any custom or non-"native"-ROM to your device. Even if, flashing an "official" factory ROM via SD card deletes HSPL.
Maybe you try again from scratch?
Download HSPL4.exe, install SPL version 2.08.HSPL (not 2.08.0000) on your device, try again to flash Dutty´s ROM.
Hy
I have the same problem, but the HSPL/2/3/4 doesn't work, in writes connection error, but the bootloader writes USB - in the white part of the screen.
Hi,
problem fixed!
I used "ruu_leo_s_tmo_de_3.14.111.1_radio_15.42.50.11u_2.15.50.14_leo_s_ship", extracted this with winrar, put the nbh on my sdcard, renamed it to LEOIMG.nbh and rebooted. Started right away and is workin gperfect again.
thanks for all your patience and advises,

How to i completely factory restore my HD2

I have Android 2.3 on my HD2 with magdler 1.3 etc, but im trading it in for a new phone so i want to return it back to its stock windows 6.5 , how do i do that? i just want to have the phone as if someone had just bought it.
Thanks!
download stockrom from htc
extract .NBH file from it, rename it to leoimg.nbh
copy that file to sd card
boot HD2 while holding vol down
you'll flash stock rom, overwriting MAGLDR, RADIO, HSPL.. it'll be brand-spankin' stock rom
Thanks! , will try
Will also try this shortly
EDIT: Uhh ohh, came up with a upgrade error and now I only get the 4 coloured page. :/
EDIT 2: Re downloaded from htc website, a different file arrived this time, seems to be a more local version.
EDIT 3: All good now, just needed a more localised version. I wonder why HTC dished out a different one at first.
