image gone, and ROMS do not install... am i bricked? - Touch Pro CDMA

i was recently at the movies (prince of persia =P ) and i accidentally left my screen on in my pocket... after the movie was over i took my phone out and all i saw was a multi colored screen with red green blue white (boot loader?) i tried everything to restart my phone to get back to my Os but seems everything was somehow wiped clean. i got home and have been spending all day trying to install new roms and each time when i run the RUU updater, it says image: (blank), the installer still runs and seems likes it works but no rom is installing i am still stuck with the multi colored screen. how can i salvage my phone, what could be wrong? =/ thx guys

i tried installing a new rom from the bootloader screen while connected via usb... but everything i try gets stuck at 0% and doesnt do anything... my hardspl is currently not unlocked and i am constantly trying to install the Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.exe and everytime... stuck at 0% on the phone..

Try the flash from memory card method:
1. Find a ROM that would be compatible with your phone, and download the nbh file. (I would recommend Original Carrier ROM - There is copies all over forums - that way it will flash everything, including the radio)
2. Plug your memory card to a computer and verify/format the card into FAT32 file system
3. Copy the ROM file (usually RUU_Signed.nbh) into the memory card directly (not inside any folder) and rename to RAPHIMG.nbh
4. Reboot the phone
5. When it reboots into three-color screen again, there should be a message that in order to flash you need to press Power button or so. Do it.
6. After your phone is working again, you might flash it with another ROM if you like.
Let me know...
Good luck

try theses two options, either flash back to stock rom which might fix the issue, but before you do that just flash a radio to the phone that should fix the issue

That's the reason I recommended flashing stock ROM. Verizon released Maintenance Release, which is a complete reflash with radio and everything.
You could get Verizon complete file from: http://pcdphones.com/phone_downloads.aspx?bid=110&cid=1&mid=328&carrier=Verizon Wireless
You didn't specify which carrier you are with so I can't help any further. Just remember to extract the .nbh file from inside instead of putting a whole .zip file on the memory card. I hope I didn't come across wrong.

[Q] HTC Hero dead

I am new to all this Android stuff and I am looking for help.
What I have done:
1. I had HTC Hero with official 2.1 never rooted.
2. I did a hard reset (I guess it failed because it went really fast (max 5 sec.) and after that I was not able to boot the phone).
3. I looked for help and found this tutorial.
1. Take out your memory card. FORMAT TO FAT32!!!
2. Download the RUU 2.73.405.5 from HTC support homepage
3. Run the installation.
4. When it fails to find your phone DON'T EXIT!!!
5. If you are using Windows 7 go in to c:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Temp
6. Search for ROM.zip
7. Move to desktop
8. Rename to HEROIMG.zip
9. Transfer to your newly formated memory card
10. Put memory card into phone
11. Start phone holding volume down pressed.
12. It will now check zip fil and then ask if you want to install.
13. homekey for YES
14. After installing you have 1.5 again and can safely upgrade to 2.1 OTA

4. Did everything like said there but I am having problems in the HBOOT. I have tried to restore three times and every time it freezes at the "Radio_V2 - Updating". (Screenshot attached)
What could I do to get my phone back to normal (or maybe rooted)??
Thank You for support!!
Are you sure your phone isn't rooted? I know when I was trying to update my phone before I knew it was rooted, I tried to install the standard firmware and failed everytime. I used a version someone made for rooted phones and it worked fine after that. Maybe you can try that!
My phone had been rooted before I even bought it, i bought it in Singapore.
It could not be rooted. I bought it in the official LMT store here in Riga and I have never tried to root it. Always the official stuff.
Anyway I could try to instal version for rooted phone. Can anyone give me a link to one because I do not have any idea where could I find one.
All those errors are major problems, are you sure the zip file is complete? i.e it is the size it should be. Also its a major no-no to remove the battery or reboot the phone while it is flashing the radio.img , this can/will cause bricks.

Ok. I checked the size of ROM file and it is all fine.
What should I do? I am 100% sure the phone has never been rooted or somehow hacked in any other way.
Please, does anyone have any suggestions?
Like I said before if you pulled the battery while it was flashing a radio you may have pricked your phone, but why not try downloading the ruu from HTC and running it on your computer.

[Q] Radio Flash after flashing BAMF 1.5

Hi all,
So I'm a bit confused about the radio. I flashed new basebands on my Droid 1 all the time, so I'm familiar with the idea. But I mistakenly flashed BAMF 1.5 directly after the manual rooting process, rather than the radio (which at the time apparently was missing the LTE portion of the update?). I tried to install the newly-fixed version that includes the LTE portion, and Clockwork is unable to install from the zip. Am I missing something? Or maybe there's a way to boot to the old "white" menu where there's a few different options, rather than just Clockwork recovery?
Thanks for any help. If I don't respond tonight, I fell asleep.
You need to boot into the bootloader and flash the file from there, not from recovery. The file must be named PG05IMG.zip and be located in the root (not in a folder) of your sdcard. Turn off the device. Hold volume down and turn it on, you should get the white screen. pick the top option (bootloader) and then wait, it should recognize the file, ask you to push volume up to confirm, and then flash it. After you reboot, delete the file from the sdcard, and then you can resume flashing roms from CWR =)
Aah, OK--a bit different than how the Droid worked, where I remember applying .zip files with radios through SPRecovery (and maybe Clockwork too?). I'll do it this way after/during work, since the file is already on the SD card. Thanks!

Thunderbolt will not boot to Rom or recovery.

Well I was running the leaked sense ics build and it was causing my phone to overheat so I decided I would switch back to cm7 for a while, when I when I tried to reboot to recovery it just booted showed a black screen then rebooted back to the rom. So I tried to reinstall the recovery from both rom manger and the bootloader nothing worked. I then noticed that it was hard to get my sd card out and that it was slow to load upon boot, odd but it was still readable by the system and I could get to my files on it. I treid a few other sd cards with the same results. It was then I decided it would be a smart idea to try and flash a ruu to try to just return to stock (but leave the bootloader unlocked). I ended up flashing PG05IMG_no_hboot_2.11.605.19.zip from [HOW TO]return to stock (gingerbread) from revolutionary or normal hboot(11/2/11) - xda-developers Which then lead to my phone not booting to rom or recovery all I can get to is the (still unlocked at least) bootloader.
Any ideas on where to proceed? I attempted to run a ruu exe so I can restore it from a computer in case the problem with sd is why it is failing to flash properly but the one I tried 2.11.605.0_Radio_0.01.78.0802w_3_NV_8K_1.41_9K_1.6 4_release_210841.exe required the phone to be booted to the rom to confirm the current build before flashing a new one. Anyone know of a way around that maybe? Or anything?

It may not work but I've had some luck with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703455 in rooting and unrooting, it may be able to see it and do its thing. I know you said you tried different cards but it might be worth looking into reformatting your card in Windows (FAT32) and trying it with a good radio by itself to get it to boot. Then pull or rename the radio zip off the card and then reinstall the ROM or RUU.

[Q] Evo LTE black screen possible brick?

I am a relative noob at flashing roms and rooting phones, but last night I ran into an issue. My phone was having all sorts of problems so I was going to put it back to factory, then start from scratch. I then decided to just flash a different rom. here is what happened.
I deleted SuperSU - this was done as part of the process to unroot and put back to factory, after this step I decided to flash a different rom
Put new ROM on phones internal memory as well as SD card
Wipe data
wipe cache and delvic cache
install new rom
Black screen
In an attempt to unbrick I relocked my bootloader.
Now, my phone can power on (Give white screen and HTC logo), then go black, and I can access Recovery mode. That is all.
I have plugged the phone to my computer and tried running the RUU, but the RUU will not recognize the phone.
I am not sure what to do to unbrick my phone and get it working again. Any and all help would be most appreciated!
Sorry I can't be more eloquent with my words, but I'm at work. I will be responding throughout the day, though.
thanks again so much to anyone that can help!
Try running it straight from bootloader
I loaded into Bootloader, selected Fastboot(USB), ran the .exe and it still won't recognize the phone. However, I did get recovery unlocked again. So I can get into recovery mode, flash all the ROMs I want, mount and unmount, yet still everytime I flash a new ROM it still boots to a black screen. Am I doing this right?
Try a Rom with kernel installer
Thanks! Since I am still a little new could you tell me how I would spot a ROM with kernel installer or could you point me to any one that could work? From then, it's the same process as flashing any other ROM? Do I need to do something with the kernel?
Meanbean and stock with goodies are the 2 that I'm certain of. Meanbean needs to be flashed twice the first time
Thanks so much for your help, I will post my results soon!
Failed
Here's what it says. Sorry for the blurry picture. I followed directions closely.
What version of recovery are you using? You may need to update it. Assuming you have a pc, try mounting the internal memory to pc through twrp. Windows will automatically tell you to format if its damaged
2.1 Updating now
omg it finally worked! Updated TWRP using fastboot and flashed MeanBean. Thank you so much!!!

[Q] Trouble with bootloop post-ICS flash

Hey guys, Im in urgent need of help here.
I'll give you an exact account of what i did.
saved apps via Ti. Back.; uploaded the new ICS radios and debloated, deodexed rom from my computer to my tbolt, renamed the radio from my computer; booted into 4ext, nandroid, wiped EVERYTHING, booted into bootloader; bootloader detected the new radio and I confirmed its update
Next thing that happened was that the HTC splash screen appeared as normal but disappeared, leaving a blank screen with dim backlight. Pulled battery and tried to reboot 10+ times to no avail. Same thing happens everytime. ADB doesn't recognize the phone but i CAN boot into bootloader. The problem is that everytime I boot into bootloader, the radio begins to update, leaving with the only option to reboot. Thus, I cant get into recovery.
I've spent the past couple hours trying to do my homework on this but its not looking too hot. I need this bad boy, so help is much appreciated.
Doug
You need to take the radio off the sd card, so you can boot to recovery and actually flash the rom.
Sounds like you haven't flashed a rom yet, so it has nothing to boot into.
With the radio image (PG05IMG.zip) on the root it will not go to Recovery.
So you will need to find a card reader to rename the radio file, since you wiped prior to flashing the radios.
The preferred process would have been to flash the radios, boot to your current rom, rename the radio file from within the current rom.
Then boot to recovery and flash the new rom.
I somewhat outlined this in the OP of the rooted rom thread where you should have gotten the download from.

Makes sense.I dont know why I read "wipe everything" before the rest of your thread and thought that meant to do so before reflashing radios.
Got a $10 reader and was able to change the radio file and boot into recovery. Flashed the rom as usual and it looks lke everythings working.
Thanks for the help man.
