Dont know yet downloading the file is quite big Part 1 is 352mb and part 2 is only 5.6mb ... find it a bit strange the part 2 is a ftf

357mb??
Sent from my ST25i using Tapatalk 2

Yes, 352 mb ROM and 5 mb kernel, i guess

I thought kernel files were included in ftf..... I need to read the instructions there..

Anyone tried it out?

Here is the changelog wid details
The Ice Cream Sandwich firmware
includes improvements to:
stability, WiFi, tethering/portable
hotspot, camera (capture and
playback), NFC and Messaging.
All Xperia P users will get a
notification when the upgrade is
ready, but direct availability in the
phone may vary across different
markets and carriers.
For Xperia U, Xperia go and
Xperia sola users – if you’ve
already upgraded to ICS, you’ll
receive a notification in your
phone and be able to download it
over-the-air. For those guys on
Gingerbread, you’ll need to plug in
and upgrade using PC Companion
or Bridge for Mac.

this is firmware with branding
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app

Avoid. Comes with Vodaphone branding and no doubt vodaphone crapware.
Wasted 300MB of download bandwidth on this crap. I wish people would make this clear upfront.

So 650mb of vodafone ****???
What about camera?
Sent from my ST25i using Tapatalk 2

I would guess the camera and stuff is improved in the C version of the firmware which is supposed to come soon enough.

Forget the look. JB brings a whole lot of new functions that are supercool like offline voice commands, new notification bar and specially Project Butter to name a few

@keiran: whether v will get a JB development soon after the release of ICS by Sony... Do v even have a tree? ? And Any supports from FTP or AOKP? ?

Xperia ICS bug 3G not flowing data!

Hello,
I found out a verry anoying bug on my xperia s, while browsing the 3G signal stays but it can't connect.
I'm running the latest .50 firmware with xtxperience 4 installed.
Does anybody know any fix or tips?
Thanks
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
What kernel are you using?
Sent from my Xperia S using Tapatalk 2
Stock.
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Definitely stock 2.50 kernel? Not 2.45 cus the issue is gone in 2.50.
Have you unlocked the bootloader or not?
Sent from my Xperia S using Tapatalk 2
No not unlocked I flashed .50 with flashtool and my info also says I'm on .50, could it be the rom?
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Hmmm strange, because everyone seems to say that the issue has now gone since .50
Might be worth trying a different rom then?
Sent from my Xperia S using Tapatalk 2
im on 6.1.A.0.453 i have the same problem and theres no uk update to .50
I am on .50 and it does still happen, just a lot less than in previous firmwares.

I already have, the Italian one.
there doesn't seem to be any UK ftf's anywhere? In fact, there doesn't seem to be many ftf's at all, considering there's 100 si numbers listed on the official list, which hasn't been updated in ages!
It seems my Sig pic doesn't only apply to the Xperia S....

1. I agree, I haven't seen any UK FTFs or updates, I've the Sola. UK/Ire didn't get many of these phones or very quickly if you ask me. I had to buy mine online from Germany.
2. As for the change between B/C, I'm not too sure, some guys on here are very familiar with this stuff and can figure out the change very quickly. I hope one of these guys find this thread to tell us.
3. Interesting that it was registered a few days after the previous one. I noticed this happen just before the ICS release, another Gingerbread software was made available, but to select regions.
I've got a UK unbranded Xperia U, I flashed the french build though and don't want to go through the hassle of changing. I might do when we get a new update, if I do then I will upload a generic UK FTF. I've got the UK Generic Gingerbread FTF if people want that then you can upgrade to ICS yourself.

It's a generic unlocked UK Xperia U from Carphone Warehouse.
I'm not sure but C versions end their update for some android version A-alpha B-beta
C is for them stable android version without bugs, but if they found something again they will update but mostly we won't get more updates before we get jelly bean.
It may also stand for C-customization with is specific firmware optimized to work on specific networks.
