I was curious if there was a way I could revert to stock everything. It would essentially mean having only the files that are available on the s3 out of the box. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

No you don't have to be rooted to flash firmware, search you will find the firmware you want and just flash with odin.

Just go to www.sammobile.com/firmware, register and download the rom you need and install with Odin. First reset the flashcounter before flashing and after you flashed the rom do a factory reset.

Nobody is perfect, my name is nobody
Hello,
2 months ago I rooted my S3,
with the CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.2 & odin & stuff, It worked,
Today I wanted to unroot it, & I thought you could just Reset your phone and everyting would go back to factory settings, because I wanted some
original updates...
I found out if i did that it would still use SuperSU & be a Custom Firmware. So I removed the SuperSU app, Deleted CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.2 or it was CWM-SuperSU-v0.89 from my SD.
I wanted to reset it again with the hard mode setting or something: Volume up + home + lock key
I mounted everything /sd card /system /cache etc. Why? I dont know..
Now my phone gets stuck at the screen when you turn on your phone: Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300
Did I just brick my phone?
Greetings.
No you didnt. But your S3 has nothing to boot. So you should flash an original fw from sammmobile with odin.

Are you sure this works?
We are not Samsung customer service and we do not guarantee it work. In this same general section there are two sticky threads that will guide you can download the stock rom and flash it using Odin, titled " [Stock Official Firmwares] I9300XXBLG8 (4.0.4) - United Kingdom" and "[Guide+ROMS]Odin Flash+Root Guide & Stock Firmwares".
You will lose all your data in the phone when you flash Odin. Also this forum section is for the international unlocked version, make sure you aren't using an American carrier locked version.
Also, question belongs in the Q&A section.
Hi folks,
First off, I'm the noobest noob you'll have seen in a while , I swapped my iphone 4s yesterday for a galaxy s3, best decision I've made in a while tbh.
Today I rooted the phone using odin and all that, but the reason I rooted in the first place is still eluding me.
I want to debrand the phone and get rid of the boot screen and useless apps.
I've searched through the forums and internet and basically I'm just plain confused! If someone could explain to me the process or point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful. I just don't know certain things like can I flash using filles not for XXELLA etc.
For the record:
4.1.2.
XXELLA
Vodafone (me)
O2 (unlocked phone)
Thanks in advance
Debranding is the process of flashing a stock rom that is unbranded. You would get this from sammobile.com (BTU is uk unbranded). You would flash via odin. Guides are all in general > sticky roll-up thread

First off thank you for the reply rootSU,
I just have two questions,
1. I can flash BTU even though I have an irish O2 phone yes?
2. Am I right in assuming tge BTU file must be XXELLA?
1) Yes but you may want the irish unbranded. Check the csc sticky in general for what that is
2) no? Flash the latest.

Just as an update after following your guidance I am now the owner of a de-branded SIII.
Just as an FYI addition I found through research that the BTU file covers both the UK and Ireland and was the one that worked.
Thank you again rootSU and I can only apologise for the fact I can only thank you once per post. :good::laugh:
No worries. I don't help for "thanks"

Hi,
I'm having trouble with downgrading a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 to a previous ROM.
The device back from SAV is a 4.1.2 and I need it to be in 4.0.4.
The behavior I get is that when I try using ODIN to flash a 4.0.4, radio does not work at all.
Neither voice nor data communication are available.
When I type *#06#, I see that the IMEI number has changed have now have a trailing 0000.
I was said it is because some partition format have changed since and date cannot be read anymore.
I have read the following thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846902) , but it don't seems anyone is having the same radio issue as I.
Have you guys any advice on this ?
Regards,
Downgrade is not recommended .
Suggest you read the faqs and guides relative SDS and EFS/IMEI/
You are also posting in the wrong forum this is not Q&A
This is most likely related to the new efs format. You wont be able to solve it, unless you have a backup of the old efs partition
