Dialer Codes - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Haven't saw a post for it and if so, please delete this but... does anyone have any working dialer codes for our phone?

dialer codes
when you say dialer codes what exactly you talking about- here is the code I have for the hidden menu,I set my phone on just cdma and turned the radio LTE off since I only have 3 g coverage and save battery usage, its a good bit of selections..there so here is exact instructions below on that
Enter *#197328640# that and when the last number is entered it will bring up the menu,,the LTE and CDMA options that I changed are below.
press {2} press {1}press {9} press {9} press {8} press {5} for just CDMA only then restart device according to device instructions
I even did the GSM and the wcdma and had 1X show up,lol,
it also shows something about secure boot status and shows some numbers, like secure value:4369 I dont know if the devs can get info from it or not,but maybe,so enjoy and be careful in there..

Sorry but.. I should've specified that I was looking for the dialer codes for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II. These don't appear to work for that device.

setup MTNL Garuda service (Mumbai) on HTC Touch Pro CDMA US Cellular

Hi,
I purchased HTC Touch Pro (US Cellular CDMA). I want to use it with Mumbai MTNL Garuda Mobile Phone service in Mumbai, India.
I don't know much of cell phone flashing and reading web pages would like to get this done.
1) How do I check my phone needs what ROM and which one is it already using ? I assume ROM is like BIOS and windows mobile is like win xp os. So installing ROM will not affect windows mobile. do I have to flash rom for a specific carrier\service provider ?
2) How do I check whether my phone in unlocked since this is CDMA and has no sim card ? In ebay ad said it was unlocked.
3) How do I find roms for "mumbai garuda mtnl". You can google the quoted string for information on service provider. I don't see much helpful info on site and the service provider is not helping. It is open to questions if I have any so let me know if you want me to ask them. can one check compatibility between US cellular and MTNL garuda mobile cdma network so I know I can use the phone.
4) Please enumerate high level steps with some pointers for me to follow through the install process.
5) is the handset supporting 3G since I see its network specs as:
Network US cellular:
Dual-band (800/1900MHz), CDMA2000 1xEVDO Rev. A/1xRTT and IS-95A/B voice or data with up to 1.8 Mbps up-link and 3.1 Mbps down-link
MTNL Garuda mobile network is CDMA-1x. Another MTNL 3G Jadoo is 3G (WCDMA, HSDPA).
so compatibility wise can I use the US cellular handset on MTNL ?
CDDMA-1x and CDMA2000 1xRTT are same so I suppose handset should be usable.
6) when switching carrier is it simple as registering your new handset with new carrier ? is there standard process for it like call in their network using some special number and type in your existing number which you have with their network. ex. if I have 20337444 number on MTNL network then on HTC Touch Pro I dial in some special number for MTNL network and then key in my existing 20337444. This will register the ESN on their network and I am all set.
7) the MTNL guy said that first check if dialing *228 gives you MTNL network. If so then go to customer service and get more help. When I dail I don't think it does any thing. It gives 3 beeps and returns to home screen.
Additional info MTNL gave was they use channels primary 185 and secondary 226. I am not sure what these channels mean.
Regards,
i dont beleive you have to flash any specific rom to get your carrier to work, but you will have to google for "carrier cabs" + your provider name to find what will work for you
to see if your phone is unlocked take the back off the phone, pull the battery, and then put the battery back in, hold the volume down button and press power till the phone turns on, i beleive it will say something like "security unlocked" if the phone is unlocked, after you check that just pull the battery and put it back in once again and start up your phone to get back into windows mobile(not holding the volume down button this time)
as far as roms for the mtnl garuda, any rom will work, i reccommend the energyrom, google energyroms.com, cdma seems to be cdma anywhere you are, if it says cdma it should work in theory
your handset will support 3g, the us cellular version of touch pro supports 3g
for the mtnl garuda carrier to support your phone, you will have to see if they will accept your meid or esn under the battery, here in the USA verizon wont accept sprint esns, and vice versa
sorry i cant be more helpful, but hopefully somewhere through this i have helped you, good luck!

thanks for reply. I searched for "carrier cabs mtnl garuda" but no good results.
I learned from specs the model is RAHP800. does it mean that it will not work on MTNL garuda ?
MTNL garuda CDMA carrier cabs
Hi,
can some one provide carrier cabs for MTNL garuda CDMA (no RUIM) along with install instructions. would be nice if you have activation instructions. how do I get *228 to connect me to MTNL network ?
a touch pro 800 is the sprint cdma touch pro, and about the cabs sorry man i have no idea, usually when i call boost mobile to activate a new phone i provide them with my numbers from underneath the battery, and they will give me the msl code to enter epst and change the msid and mdn, maybe you could call your carrier and ask for the msid and mdn? as far as getting your msl code, as long as you have the microsoft .net cf 3.5 cab installed on your phone you can use a program called "baf msl grabber" to get that code
good luck, hope you figure something out, and if you need anything else feel free to contact me
Do you know anyone else with a TP runnon that same network? Maybe you can get some files from their phone.
the terms you used are new to me like "msl code to enter epst and change the msid and mdn".
You state "msl code to enter epst and change the msid and mdn," and use "baf msl grabber" to get that code. The MTNL garuda mumbai service folks I talked to are not willing to give any details. They in fact are just not supporting any handset other than what they provide. Now they are discontinuing new cdma handsets which are not using RUIM card (they say its similar to sim card).
can you guide me to some article which has instructions and explanation of various steps we might take to get things done like ones we have on eHow.com.

I do not know of any such user. can you guide me to simple article which expalins the steps involved in doing any programming / install of cabs etc. I have not much idea about cdma programming.
Regards,
Installing carrier cabs and flashing roms wont make the phone work on the network you want it to. The first thing you need is to change the PRL on the device to one that works with your carrier. This a file file you may be able to download, or get it from someone elses phone who uses the same carrier. After that, you will need to program all your info into it, MDN, ect. Then hopefully your carrier will even allow the ESN on their network. Did you say this was a US Cellular device?
Hi,
I learned from service provider that need to disable PRL and then use programming code so can feed in information. So for US Cellular HTC Touch PRO CDMA (no sim/ruim) can one provide programming code\dial codes ?
Do I need activation code in order to be able to enter into programming mode ?
Here is some reference for it: http://support.sprint.com/support/a...e-vw371511-20090807-140419?&INTNAV=SU:DP:HDIB
I would like to program my phone and when I dial ##778# and make a call it just ends. I am not sure how to enter the progam mode. Please guide.
There isn't a master list or anything like that. I used to flash phones to cricket and the 2 TPs I've flashed from us cellular were problematic. Could have been a coincidence. You need to obtain the PRL.

HTC Touch Pro unlock and program code
Hi,
I dialed ##000000 and it now put me into EPST (Activation Wizard(MSL)) screen. I guess I have made some progress and I see MDN, MSID, Home SID/NID #1.
It seems all sprint code listed here http://www.pcoperative.com/ppc/htc_tp_dial_codes.htm
works just that no need to key in ending # for each code.
Well how to check that phone is unlocked. I dialed ##775 to update PRL and it prompted me for unlock code.
I purchased phone from ebay and the ad mentioned that its unlocked.
is unlock code same as SPC/MSL unlock code ?
I went into bootloader and it shows Security Unlocked.
Why does it prompt me for unlock code when I go to ##775 to update PRL ? what to do so I can disable PRL ?
Few other codes like ##DEBUG and Advanced EPST show me information fine without prompting for any unlock code.
Regards,
You haven't made any progress at all unfortunately, you still need the prl. Any codes you enter that allow you to MODIFY phone settings will require an unlock code.

[Q] AT&T protection could it be hacked?

is it possible to hack the protection of the phone which allows only the use at&t sim card so i can use another sim outside the USA.?
Okay, 1. Its Called unlocking. 2. Its not hacking its a common process. you pay someone online through an unlocking company and its unlocked good to go
Without being rude, yes. You can unlock the phone to be used with other carriers. Unfortunately, I believe the Note requires GSM networks (to my knowledge, there is no CDMA version of the Note).
In the states, the Note would be usable on AT&T and T-Mobile as well as some smaller carriers that "piggy-back' off AT&T/T-Mobiles networks. The Note is NOT compatible with Verizon or Sprint or any networks that 'piggy-back' off Verizon/Sprint networks.
The way it is done from stock is as follows. NOTE that these instructions are for the AT&T i717 Note.
1. Find your IMEI number
Open the phone dialer and enter *#06#
After entering, a popup will appear with your IMEI number. Write this down and double check you wrote it down correctly. Tap the OK button to close this window.
2. Get your unlock code.
There are many services that do this, cellunlocker.net is one. I believe they charge $8 but dont quote me on this.
http://cellunlocker.net/samsung-unlock.php
Here, scroll down to the bottom of the page and there will be three dropdowns.
In the top dropdown, select 'i717 Galaxy Note 4g LTE'
Do NOT select the d, m, or r models.
In the second dropdown, scroll to United States and select AT&T (NOT AT&T/Cingular).
In the third box, input your IMEI number you wrote down in step 1.
Hit the 'look for code' button. It is here you will be prompted for payment information, after inputting your payment information, you will be prompted with your unlock code upon your payment successfully having been processed.
3. Entering your unlock key.
Power your phone down and put in the sim card for the carrier you wish to use.
Boot the phone and immediately upon swiping to unlock the phone, a screen will appear allowing you to enter the 8 digit unlock key. Type it in and press enter, wait about 30 seconds and the phone will be unlocked.

Rezound on Straight Talk using Verizon towers- no sim card.(talk, text,MMS,Internet)

I had my evo 4g on Straight Talk, so I knew how to do it but the rezound is different because it has two ports.
I copied all the information from my evo 4g to rezound because I was not able to *228 activate like with the evo 4g. ( I have two phone now with the same esn number on straight talk, I keep the evo turned off with battery out.)
* you will not be able to *228, so you have to manually put in the settings.
What you need:
* CDMA Straight Talk donor phone & service plan (phone model ends in C for CDMA), and a 30-day unlimited service plan. For example, you can get the LG 220C for $50 with a 30-day plan, makes the phone cost just $5 bucks http://www.walmart.com/ip/Straight-T...ished/17113676 Never turn this phone on or put the battery in it. You just need the red card with the esn number on it.
HTC Sync to install drivers (after you have drivers you can uninstall):
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-rezound-verizon/software-updates
HTC Diag Drivers
http://www.filedropper.com/htcdiagdrivers
CMDA WS 2.7 (3.8 is ideal if you have the cash to buy it! I think you could do the whole phone with the full version.)
http://www.filedropper.com/cdmaworkshop27fullfree-gsm-unlockblogspotcom
DFS - download from http://cdmatool.com/Download and register for Demo account at http://cdmatool.com/Register it shouldn't expire and a Demo account will work fine, just has a nag screen making you wait 60 seconds every time you run it. After you download & install make sure to enter your login that you registered.

http://www.filedropper.com/rezoundphone
This guide was for Flash VZW HTC Rezound/Vigor Full Flash to Cricket Wireless but it works the same and credit does to jtheis23 at XDA. from kr8zeivan's post.
First make sure you install HTC Sync for your drivers, put phone is DIAG mode (##3424#) and pull up you device manager to unsure your phone is recognized. You should see two ports:
HTC Diagnostic Interface
HTC Diagnostic Interface 9k
I understand that 8k (HTC Diagnostic Interface) is voice and 9k is net/web. If you are all good its ok to uninstall HTC Sync. Make sure you disable any anti-virus that may be running as it will remove CDMA WS it will think it a trojan because of key generator. Next I used CDMA WS to unlock phone, write NV only, write NAM 1 & 2 and write prl. If you are using the cracked version click on the yellow round icon with a small star and it will launch key and open program. WS 2.7 can use ports 1-25 so make sure you have your device connected to ports 25 or under.
1. Connect to HTC Diagnostic Interface port from the MAIN tab. Go to SECURITY tab look for SPC area (Do not read) just
enter 000000 click on SPC then click send. You should get a message saying your phone is unlocked.
2. Go to OTHER tab look for R-UIM Config: Select NV only then click on write. Should get a message saying change was successful. You can now write your prl.
3. Look for PRL on the OTHER tab should be just above R-UIM. Make sure it stays in "universal" and NAM1 and click write
load your preferred prl it should say prl written successfully. Then do the same for NAM 2. Click on MAIN tab and disconnect.
4. Connect to HTC Diagnostic Interface - 9k port from MAIN tab. Go to SECURITY tab look for SPC area (Do not read) just enter 000000 click on SPC then click send. You should get a message confirming you are unlocked. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
5. Go to MAIN tab and disconnect. Reboot phone. On my first reboot I notice it did not write but reverted the prl back to Verizon's 58008 prl. However when I continued to write the Nam info on the next steps it stuck. I don't know why.
6. After reboot put phone back into DIAG mode and reconnect to 8k port go to SECURITY and unlock the phone. Go to NAM tab. From here I was able to read from phone and write without errors. Read from Nam 1. Update MIN/MDN, MCC (310) MNC (00), local SID (whatever yours is)/NID (65535)/IMSI (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) make sure you replace the X's with your area code and MIN. I used PRL enabled, System Standart, Otapa enabled. Write to phone. Repeat steps for Nam 2. Go to MAIN tab and disconnect.
7. Connect to HTC Diagnostic Interface - 9k port. Go to SECURITY tab and unlock phone. Go to NAM tab and repeat step six. Write to phone. Go to MAIN tab and disconnect. Reboot phone. After reboot from phone go to settings >Wireless networks> Mobile Networks> Network mode> Change to CDMA only. Go back to home screen. From dialer press *#*#4636#*#* and call. Go into Phone information and set preferred network type to CDMA auto (PRL). Press turn off radio (this may take a few seconds) then turn radio on (this may take a few seconds) exit. You should now have talk and text. (My rezound is rooted and I downloaded LTE switch here to change the radio to cdma prl auto)
8. Put phone back into DIAG mode ##3424# call and to to WS 2.7 to unlock only. Go to QPST and connect to 8k port. Read from phone .For me I was able to follow the QPST tutorial with no problem and update both profiles did M.IP and PPP and wrote to phone with no issues. Reboot. When I tried doing the same on 9k port I got "Serious error encountered write aborted". I tried doing it without reading just writing and still got the error message. So I finished the EVDO settings for 9k port in DFS.
Follow the pics for dfs settings.
9. Put phone in DIAG mode go to WS 2.7 to unlock phone. Launch DFS 3.3.0.7 (I used Demo version and it worked for me) connect only to port 9k do not read! Go to PROGRAMMING tab select DATA tab enter PPP UID (your#@vzw3g.com.com) pwd (vzw) write. Then Go to M.IP go to Selected Profile Settings enter NAI (your#@vzw3g.com). Set Prim HA address to 0.0.0.0, set Sec HA address to 0.0.0.0 go to Share Secret User Profile. AAA shared secret (verizon) HA shared secret (verizon). Write current profile settings. At this point you may get failed to write messages at the bottom. Just ignore them. Repeat these steps for NAM2. Press Reset upper right hand corner. If your phone does not reboot on its own reboot it. If you want you can go back into DFS and read phone from PROGRAMMING and DATA tab to see if your PPP settings stuck. Do the same for M.IP if they did not try repeating the process. I had to do it a couple of times got error messages but sure enough they wrote to phone and I was successful in getting data 3g on phone.
Grats on getting it to work on Verizon. I also have thought about doing this but just wish there was a way to get their 4g service
I got it working on straight talk with an att sim on hspa. Still want to tweak with it more to get my speeds better and connection more stable.

I have a at&t sim card from straight talk on order. I was going to give it a try also, since all you do is transfer the number over. I want that 4g too, but like the $45 for everything.

Where do I get the info to update these fields if I never turn on the donor phone to obtain it's phone number/info?
Straight talk gives you the phone number after you activate the phone with the meid. Phone doesn't need to be on to do this I don't think.

isn't this cloning the esn, which is illegal?

Agreed. Not illegal. In fact, it was ruled that modifying any electronic device by the user is legal. However, the manufacturer has the right to not accept the device under warranty after said modifying.

You was able to get the esn and prl saved, correct. When you look at the settings what do you have. It should look like the pictures for the zip file.
At step 7 did you go to the market and download the lte switch and change to CDMA prl auto only?
I looked at the guide and I did not explain how to change the esn on the phone. This was the only way I was able to change my esn on my rezound.
Part2
Changing the MEID...
1.Dial ##3424# on your phone and plug it into your computer.
2.Open QPST Configuration and connect to the HTC COM port.
3.Open the EFS Explorer client using QPST Configuration
4.Make a folder called "open sesame door" in the root directory of the phone.
5.Restart your phone and connect to it again the same way. This time, the "nvm" folder will be unlocked in EFS Explorer.
5.Open the "nvm" folder and copy the "0" and "1943" files to your computer. The file named "0" contains your flipped ESN, and the file named "1943" contains your flipped MEID.
6.open with a hex edit.Change the ESN/MEID to whatever you like (make sure it's flipped) in the files and copy the files back to the phone. Restart the phone, and you're good to go!
Note: A "flipped" ESN or MEID means that the ESN or MEID is reversed in groups of two. For example, if your phone's MEID were A1000012345678, it would become 78 56 34 12 00 00 A1 when flipped. The same applies for the ESN.
7. Delete file 0 and 1943 on the phone. The drag your edited files back to phone.
8. Refresh to make sure you copied the files.
9. “adb reboot” to reboot the phone.
10. Delete the “open sesame door” folder.
11. After done, check whether esn is good.
Still nothing. No voice. Try to send a text and I get cause code 65535 error class 3. Pretty sure it did that before anyway though.

If anyone has an MEID starting with a letter A, can you look in settings/about phone/phone identity and see if the letters are uppercased or lowercase? Not sure if it even matters but mine are lowercase and just seems odd.

How to Flash U Firmware On AT&T and Keep Volte & video calling and get lte band 17

How to Flash U Firmware On AT&T and Keep Volte & video calling and get lte band 17
So after Doing some looking around i found out how to get volte and video calling working, and enable band 17 on G930U. I dont take credit for this. i seen it on a different forum and just wanna make sure people know how to fix it.
For starters if you dont have g930u or dont know what it is. heres a great thread about it with easy to follow instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/xda-community-love-g930u-t3415875
Okay so after you flash the U Firmware.
edit the others.xml in System/csc. Scroll to the bottom of the xml and change volte and video calling to TRUE. Save and then reboot. The options will be in settings and the video calling icon will be in the dialer.
and to re-enable band I7 Open the dial pad
Type: *#0011# to enter Service Mode (Be very careful with what you do here)
Note: You need to be rooted for this to work
Once in Service Mode, do the following:
Tap the menu button and tap Back
Tap the menu button again and select "Key Input" and enter an upper case Q and press OK
Tap the menu button again and select "Key Input" and enter 4 zeroes (0000) and press OK
Wait 5 - 15 seconds. You'll see the Main Menu
Choose option [2]: UE SETTING & INFO
Choose option [1]: SETTING
Choose option [1]: PROTOCOL
Choose option [2]: NAS
Choose option [1]: NETWORK CONTROL
Choose option [4]: BAND SELECTION
Choose option [4]: LTE Band Preference
Choose option [7]: LTE ALL (Or you can choose any band instead)
If you want to go back then tap the menu button and choose Back (Don't press the back key)
Once again guys i take no credit for any of this. ive just seen people looking for the information and decided to put it all together for you
I am just curious, what's the benefit of enabling B17 on the device given that AT&T has B12 MFBI enabled throughout its network?
Does this enable the enhanced LTE voice? When you go to About Device > Status does it show IMS registration status as "Registered"? None of the carrier specific features will work unless the IMS is registered on the AT&T network.

What I understand is that none of the carrier specific features will work unless the AT&T network registers your phone. They have certain models they will recognize on their network for those features. 930U is not one of those models.

You left out the part where root is required to modify a CSC in the system partition.

not where to be found those csc settings on a 930a with the latest pg9 Ota firmware
I am on the 930U firmware on my ATT&T S7. I can get to service mode, I am rooted, but can not get to the Main Menu. I have tried several times and it does not get past the opening page. Any suggestions?
I don't understand. Isn't G930U supposed to be used in US? If a band is used by a US carrier and supported by phone hardware, why firmware disable it?

Well, why does TMobile wifi calling work straight out of the box on the U firmware while AT&T's doesnt?

IMO this is because of the stupid AT&T policy, not because the phone does not support it.
AFAIK not being able to use band 17 is Samsung's problem right?

The S7 has wifi calling on the ATT branded rom. It's the stupid (or smart in a business sense) way they change things to their own proprietary format. If you want wifi calling then you have to buy their phone, not the U version.

Really? If G930U doesn't have wifi calling, why can T-Mobile users use wifi calling on G930U firmware?

That's what I'm saying it has wifi calling, but it does not work on the ATT network because they changed their rom for their wifi calling, the built in Wifi calling in the U rom does not work with ATT.

Phone Info / Radio Menu sections accessible on my Sprint V30+ US LG-LS998 - non root

So a little background on why I'm posting this. I have owned a G4 G5 G6 and V20, all on Sprint, and none of these devices can ever access the Phone Info section or "Radio Info" section as it's referred to on the Hidden Settings shortcutter App. I believe Sprint or LG removes access to this area on all LG devices. On all of the ones I've owned I can try and access the section but only catch a brief glimpse of it when I try to access using a shortcut app. It is always immediately covered by the same message every time which is: Note This application does not work on this device.
Now I just activated a V30+ a couple weeks ago which I received through Sprint's normal telesales channel and on this device I can get to and modify most fields in the section. I haven't seen other people posting about this so maybe it's standard for everyone with the LS998 Sprint variant and no one really cares or just doesn't have anything to say about it. If thats the case, my apologies for wasting everyones time with an unnecessary post .
If my access to this area is a one off situation and could help lead any developers or more avid tinkerers to any discoveries I'd be happy to test out some things together with anyone with more experience than myself. I've been holding off on attempting to unlock the bootloader and haven't done any PRL updates or resets just in case this access is worthwhile as I've been worried something is going to update and take away my ability to get into the section.
I've included some screenshots. I've cropped them to try and remove some of the more personal data but I think all the relevant sections are covered.
*** Below are some questions and thoughts I've had. I hiding the section it to keep things less cluttered for those that are just reading up but dont have any experience or opinion on the settings/functionality etc***
If everyone can already get to this section, have you changed your bands or modified any of the settings and what results did you see?? I've been tempted to switch up some settings and run some tests but I'm being kinda chicken about changing anything because I can't find any info on people using this menu to do anything except screw up their coverage. A few example seems to be people on different earlier LG models that select USA but live outside the US and then cant get it back to their countries settings.
Here is a list of things I would like to examine more, or try out in these menus. Maybe some of you have already done such or have the same questions. Any feedback would be cool on any of these things or even warnings or endorsements. I would love to learn a bit more about this area and its possibilities.
Under the "Set Preffered Network Type" option I would like to change the current setting of LTE/CDMA/UMTS auto (PRL) to one of the other options and see what happens. I believe this area is relatively safe and can be switched back to the original setting easily. I'd like to switch to Global Auto Mode, Unknown Mode, GSM Auto mode and LTE Only Mode and run some speed tests and see what towers its connecting to in each.
There are four toggle switches, one of which is grayed out. This is the Video Calling Provisioned Switch. Curious if this would possibly become accessible in another mode, or if there was something i could change in a database editor that would allow me to switch this to "on".
The only setting I did change was the one DNS Check. It was originally set to disallowed and I switched it to allowed. I dont really know what changes or abilities this added or took away and have not seen any difference since doing so.
The SMSC when Refreshed will give me an 11 digit number in "" followed by a 3 digit number. It begins with +1 giving it the appearance of a phone number. I believe this has to do with SMS provisioning but am unsure and have not modified the info here.
One part I am very curious about is a grayed out button labeled OEM-specific info/Settings. I have searched like crazy just to try and find some info on whats behind that button and got nada.
In the additional menu section (the three dots) I have an option to Select Radio Band. When Pressed it takes me to a menu which sats "set GSM/UMTS band". This is the area I have found little about other than what I mentioned earlier about people getting locked out of their country settings. I have not touched this setting.
The IMS service Status of my device seems to not populate correctly as I'm listed as not registered or unavailable for all sections as seen in the picture attached. I could swear that a week ago I was showing "registered" but if so thats no longer the case.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Do you mean the ones within thd expanded part of the phone info section? If so, I've checked those out and they are blank. Screenshots attached.
So enough people have seen this post now that someone with a V30+ should be able to confirm whether or not others can get to these settings.
Anyone?
There is several other threads about this already. I found them while trying to find a way to get more ?? bands working on my India based phone. Nothing new i don't think and none of it actually helped, for me at least. There is a dialer code for it but i can't remember it.

I'd like to hear what you tried out and see what changed and what stuck and what didn't. . Maybe we can get your phone working better here in the states if we team up on the problem... I know my avatar shows I'm a junior member but that's because I don't really post often, but I do plenty of reading and tinkering myself and I have been in the Telecom business for about 15 years. I'm not an expert or making any guarantees but I certainly don't mind helping out a fellow member here if I can.
Do you have your MSL code? I have mine so if you have yours maybe we can take a look at how my phone is provisioned in the ##data# menu and get your bands setup the same way since mine should already be configured to the proper bands for the U.S. Between modifying that area and making some changes in the Radio info section that could do the trick for you. Let me know if you'd like to work on it and we could PM or you could reply with a run down of what you've tried and how you're setup now and we could go from there.
Cheers.
*#546368#*930#
Field test. LTE band selection. Selecting any band from the menu just makes it completely lose cell signal. After selecting a band it just either says success or fail.

Ok so that dialer code doesn't trigger anythibg on my model. I also tried replacing 930 with 998 and tried replacing the *# and #* with just ## and no luck. But no worries.
I'm thinking you may need to change your settings in two menus in order for the new settings to work together. If you go into your Data menu (##data# or maybe *#data#* on your model) and update the information there to match the ones I am attaching in my screenshots and then go into the Radio Info menu and select a similar setup to how my device is provisioned you may see some success.
Thoughts?
You would need your MSL code in order to change the settings in the ##data settings....
Where do i get msl code?
Neither of the data dialer codes are working for me.
Oh those settings are only for cdma phone?

There are a bunch of tips and tricks to find your MSL code posted throughout the boards, but I have only ever got mine from the carrier. If you call customer service you can usually talk them into giving it to you, though their policy on this is to not give it out unless your phone is fully paid for / out of contract. If you tell them you are working with a tech in a store and need it for provisioning they will normally give it to you.
