Screen Problem. - Nokia Lumia 800

Hey all. My friends child dropped her phone on the floor and the screen cracked quite badly. I have done a Google search and can only find the whole replacement which I don't want.
Where can I get a screen from?
Thank you

The screen is glued to the digitizer, you can't order just the glass, it's all in one piece...if this is what you mean. It's a very easy procedure tho, once you have the spare, I could do it in like 5 minutes.

OMG.. just replace it with a thinner model... screen becomes moisture sensitive afterwards.
Is it really another screen protector? Because I'm scared to go really hard to take it out I used a razor blade I.managed taking a small part out really tiny tho.

Yes it definitely is another screen protector.
Yes the screen is far more responsive with a thinner screen protector on it.
also don't use a razor blade, I used a safety pin to vertically stab the edge until it lifts a bit. Then use your hands to pull it off as it is stuck on hard so needs a bit of strength to pull off rather than a normal screen protector

I made it wooot! Now my screen is a bit sticky but its normal because of the layer

I have a question about screen protectors if you don't mind I ask here.
Is there anywhere I can purchase one of those privacy screen protectors where people can't see the screen on the side for this phone?

rip that puppy off. mine has been off for months and months. its super tough glass that is ridiculously strong - i have not scratched it AT ALL and it has no stains or marks.
one guy even took to his with a knife to test it (search for an older thread on this). dont worry about anyone saying that its gunna scratch or get water in it - its glass after all so they have clearly not tried it.
hands down BEST mod you can do to your x10, and its FREE!

I have tested this..
The touch response is effected by moisture.
Pull it off and replace with a nice thin one.
It's crystal glass.. quite impervious to damage.. but it can still crack and break.
Holy ! I've been wondering the exact same thing for a while ! Its so hard to take off -.-

I first used a knife didnt help tried a razor blade i only managed to cut like 4mm of it then i uses an needle and pushed under it and it pulled off i had to pull very hard to take that **** out damn wasnt an easy job i can say!

Damaged Plastic LCD Border, Replacement?

So because I'm stupid and hate cases on my phones, the border around my LCD screen has become worn quite a bit from my occasional phone drops. I've looked around for a replacement, but I can't seem to find one anywhere. Is it possible to replace this part, and if so, is there a place I can get one?
Ebay. Just buy a bricked one or something that's wrong besides the part u need and use that. Although there may be easier solutions I dunno never really looked into it
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
Someone else tried this and found out it's impossible. The plastic is glued on and not easily removed without damaging it more.
Search around the q&a forum for the original. It is disappointing.
I'm in the same boat, phone looks brand new except for the gunmetal gray border.

Yep, I read the thread and OP broke his glass. There are two posts in that thread by others saying that they've successfully changed the housing/bezel using heat.

I ordered a replacement screen for mine from here. I wish I would have ordered the bezel at the same time, it would have made it a new phone. I still might order it and hope I don't crack the glass. Use plenty of heat (hair dryer) and pull up the glass slowly, you should be OK.

The screen?

My s3 screen is the perfect size for me feals like a mini tablet only problem is im worried it will break.
Now should i get an otterbox or anouther case to protect it?
I've been rocking with the cruzerlight TPU case for a while now and it does wonders. Doesn't make it too thick, adds grip, and is very protective, check it out

Dont worry man.
Its gorilla glass... wont break so easily.
I already dropped mine a hundred times. It hasnt got even a scratch.
Still, if you want to protect it that much, use a screen protector and put a case around your phone that covers your phone a little from front. This way, even if your phone falls, your screen will not have direct contact with ground and it wont break.
Bump lol.

Bro, are you serious that you had drop your S3 for a hundred times? I had watch drop test video from Youtube, the S3 broke once it's drop. But I admit that gorilla glass 1 had a very strong screen. But not gorrila glass 2 which using in S3. Correct me if I had wrong.

Need a new screen (Damn cat)

So my DNA was sitting on the bedside table last night and my girls cat pulled the charger cable and knocked it off of the table. When it fell it hit the leg of the table on the top left-hand corner and shattered the screen. I am having digitezer issues now and it is very annoying. Does anyone know where I can get the screen replaced? If that's even possible.
Thanks for any help.

They sell DIY kits on eBay, but most cell repair places should be able to do it.
P.S. you can never trust a cat

Damn it. These screens must be made of glass! I don't think I've ever heard of screen breaking as easily.
There's lots of threads and tutorials and videos on screen replacement.
You think it's worth trying to do it myself? I used to work in a cell phone repair shop but never done anything like the DNA

It doesn't appear too bad to do. I'd suggest getting a "frame" and the adhesive as well. Separating them seems to be the hardest step.
Also get a tool kit.

Cracked my screen. (Replacement suggestions)

I cracked my outer screen. The digitizer seems to be fine but If I plan to sell it, it's gotta be fixed beforehand.
Anyone got a breakdown for what I can do to fix this myself?

Ya, I think we all have had to replace a screen. It's not easy, but doable. Here is a good price on a replacement screen http://www.amazon.com/Black-Samsung-Galaxy-Replacement-Screen/dp/B00HDAPL68 and this is a good video on how to do it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMEeWEbtqcU I would watch the video a couple of times first. Or take it to Sprint corporate store they will usually do it while you wait, and may or may not charge you. Good Luck !!!

Yeah I did this and it worked fine just go slow when taking off the old screen heat it with a hair dryer as you peel it off and clean it real good after b4 install of the new screen try to find some kind of glue that may come with the new screen cuz after I did mine the first time it worked fine but the touch response was a lil slower then b4. But still way cheaper then sending it out for repair.
I'm mainly concerned about the glass itself, having connectors or ribbons that need solder

Look around in your city....like in Phoenix here there are a couple cell phone fix stores that will replace glass for like 20 bucks.... Well worth it for me not having to do it ...

The glass itself only has the bottom connectors for the back, menu and home .If you decide to install yourself just take your time and go slow and you'll be fine. Like the jimzweb1 said there are a number of youtube videos that will walk you though. http://youtu.be/S_BadHtLPbU How to Separate Glass Only on Galaxy Note 3!: http://youtu.be/HwrSdrySqec Hope these help a bit.
If you have insurance through Sprint, take it in, there is no deductible for just replacing the glass.
