[Q] HTC One X+ or LG Optimus G (Telus) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm in the market for a new phone as I'm currently up for renewal on my Telus contract.
My main concern when purchasing a smartphone is the battery life. I do not play many games on my phone, and I primarily use it to check Flipboard, emails, facebook, and twitter periodically throughout the day.
I also really like cm10 - (currently use it on my fascinate), but I've never tried Sense 4+ or the LG rom so I'm not sure if I should take that into opinion or not.
Although LG has the S4 pro (which has a newer architecture), the HTC has the Tegra 3, which has the 'ninja' core. (as i dont play games I would probably be using this core 80% of the time). They both have the same 2100 mAh batteries.
In your experience, which of these two phones will have a better battery life?

http://blog.gsmarena.com/lg-optimus-g-battery-tests-are-done-here-are-the-results/
That's for optimus G. And I believe optimus G is gonna give u a better battery life. But u should check out note2 if u want bigger battery! Or even razr hd maxx!

Thanks! I'm leaning towards the Optimus G. But I might wait and see if the HTC DNA comes out or not! that phone is a beast and it seems to have spectacular battery life from reading the forums

What to buy? - Galaxy SIII, HTC One X, LG Optimus 4X HD etc

In my quest to find the best android phone money can buy, I have arrived at the following list, along with the major reasons to buy them-
1) Samsung Galaxy SIII - Quad core
2) HTC One X - Quad core
3) LG Otimus 4X HD - Awesome screen, quad core
4) Galaxy Nexus - Fastest updates
5) Sony Xperia S - Great camera
6) HTC One S
7) Samsung Galaxy Note - Huge screen
8) Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (Not released yet)
9) Droid RAZR HD-amazing battery life
10) LG Optimus G (Not released yet)
And since this is the most popular android forum in the world, I would like to know your thoughts.
In terms of specs, I think the LG Optimus 4X HD wins out. But then, I could be wrong.
Maybe I should wait for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to arrive in my country?
I'm prepared to wait for about a month or so before I buy.
If there are other great phones not on the list, please add.
I'm open to all your suggestions and opinions, but please be polite.
Hopefully, this thread will help other potential buyers to make better decisions too.
Thanks, beforehand.
Peace
LG Optimus G

Optimus 4x HD
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.
In term of software usability and updates (specially from xda) you should choose between HTC and Samsung. And personally I love how sense makes everything easy and One X is told to have better camera so I'd go for that.

bro go for the s3 its a boss phone :good:
@OP, beats audio is just an EQ profile and apps such as poweramp can get a better sound than beats anyway (for my ears)
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
I an a bit reluctant about buying Motorola as I have had bad experiences with customer care in the past. Though, Droid RAZR HD is an awesome phone.
I will add it to the list

I agree. Buy the speaker is also made by Beats, right? So it has a pretty bad**s speaker.
Also, beats compatibility would be great for my Beats Studio HD

No, the speaker is a normal one. Even with headphones, the beats headphones don't have any special advantage other than the branding and flashiness. Because Beats audio is just an equalizer profile, which makes certain types of music sound good. Any good quality headphones will have the same quality as Beats headphones. Coming back to the speaker, it's just OK. Better than my HTC Desire HD, but nothing special.
I love the screen of the One X though. I haven't used the Optimus 4X, but compare to GS3 I like the One X's screen much better. It's bright and the colours at great. I'm not a fan of AMOLED's over-saturated and unreal colours.
Factor this into your choice too - battery life. What kind of phone user are you? Do you use your phone heavily during the day when it's not on charge, or do you use it for the most part at home or near a charger? The One X doesn't have a removable battery, while the Galaxy S3 does, so if battery life is an issue you can always swap the battery if its removable. Don't know about the others. One S doesn't have a removable battery too.
Personally, I love the HTC One X save for the non-removable battery and lack of microSD slot. Also keep in mind, quad core doesn't really make much of a difference other than increased battery usage. Single core is too slow for phones now, but dual core is just right. Maybe a few years in the future phones will be used for such computing applications that require quad core processors, but right now that's not the case. Phones just don't need that much processing power right now. So don't consider a phone exclusively for quad core processors. The Galaxy Nexus with it's dual core processor is amazing in terms of usage.
I'm quite disillusioned by the support shown for relatively old phones by most of the manufacturers. Like the Samsung Galaxy S and HTC Desire HD upgrades to ICS. They're blatantly ignoring their old phones even before their time has come, and are giving ridiculous reasons to justify their actions. In terms of development support, Sony is being the best among the companies. All their 2011 phones received ICS, and will probably get JellyBean too. Even if unofficial, they will get fully working JellyBean, because Sony is supporting the development community by providing the required resources. Can't say the same about Samsung (to an extent) and especially HTC. Sony Xperia S is a nice phone, may not have the best screen, but has a good camera and other specs. The only other phone for assured updates (at least for 1-2 Android versions after the currently released version, is of course the Galaxy Nexus.

Thanks a lot, for your valuable insight.
I am a very regular user and use my phone multiple times when not a home. So I guess that rules out one x in that perspective, also I keep changing phones, so micro Sim also doesn't seem attractive.
But I really really want the latest updates so nexus and Sony are looking good too.
And LG Optimus look the best in terms of specs but hasn't received many reviews yet
I'm confused....

Yes, the One X and One S will keep running out on you. I've seen this happen many times. Only option is to have a car charger when you're driving or to use a battery pack (>2000 mAh). These usually retail at ₹2500-3000 at electronics stores. I love the One X, but I didn't buy it because I use my phone a lot, and it just wouldn't suffice. I have an HTC Desire HD, which is a great phone but is known for it's measly battery (1230 mAh). With custom ROMs & kernels having many battery life saving modifications, it lasts, but not as much as you would expect it to. I have 3 batteries for the phone so effectively 1230*3= 3690 mAh. I just swap batteries when one is drained, and they're small and easy to fit in the pocket (finally a use for the small right side pocket in jeans ). That's the advantage of having a removable battery. You don't even have to waste money buying one of those (hardly ever true) high capacity batteries. Just keep an extra original OEM battery.
Since you swap phones often, a standard size SIM is useful, but honestly don't let that influence your choice of phone. One X and Galaxy SIII both use it. All phones are moving towards micro-SIM these days, so that can't be a criteria. You can buy a good quality micro-SIM to normal SIM (called mini-SIM) adapter to use with other phones. You can even just keep the outer shell of your own SIM when you cut it to micro-SIM size, and when you need to put it in another phone, place your micro-SIM in the hollow and put some thin tape on the blank side to hold it in place. That should work just fine as a regular SIM.
For latest updates, Nexus and Sony to a large extent are the only way to go till other manufacturers step up their game. From what I know of LG, they're probably the worst at updates. They're very vague about updating their phones and you can never actually be sure of whether they'll do it even if they say they will. Kind of like how HTC did with the Desire HD. Read this - http://www.gsmarena.com/2011_xperia...no_ics_for_optimus_2x_and_black-news-4570.php
I'll break down my suggestions (what I would buy right now) for you into screen size -
5.3"-5.5" - Wait for Galaxy Note II. Watch this video to know why.
4.7"-4.8" - Samsung Galaxy SIII (Nothing is tempting me too much to wait for the Droid Razr HD other than it's 2500 mAH battery, also I don't know when it's going to come to India. Also, GSIII has huge developer support, and it will stay that way unless Motorola gets more supportive of the developer community. LG Optimus G looks nice, but I'm not too optimistic about LG, though we'll only know how the phone is when it comes out. Specs are one thing and actual working feel of the phone is another).
4.3" - Sony Xperia S
I'd also say that the Galaxy Nexus, albeit older than all these phones, is a great value for money phone right now. So if you're looking to get an awesome phone without spending too much, buy it. It doesn't need much to talk about since it's a Nexus. Specs may be below the other phones but it runs great and much smoother than other phones. I got it for my cousin and used it a lot so I'm speaking from experience. I asked a relative in the US to get it and ship it to me. It worked out to be $(349+40+40) = $429 (~₹23,800) including the base price of phone+taxes and shipping to my realtive+international shipping to me. I also got away with paying ₹500 at the customs office though they asked for ₹3200. I'm not trying to sell the phone, just saying that it's a great value for money phone right now (if that is a constraint).
If you do plan to buy it, buy it from this guy - http://www.facebook.com/purenexus
He's a trusted seller and sells it for $460. That's a $31 difference from what I got it at, which is ~₹1720. That's not much of a difference, considering his remuneration for his services. You won't have to bother with customs or anything else, he takes care of it, just order it and wait till it reaches your home.
Took quite a bit of time to type all this. Hope it helps.

Thanks a lot.
So, reading your comment, SIII.is looking like the best choice right now.
Maybe I should wait a month or so, and wait for the note 2 which, I think, would be ideal... After all, I'm not in a hurry.
Price is not really an issue, so does the retailer you mentioned also deal in other phones?
Thanks for the effort.

[Q] Convince me: One X+ over Galaxy S3

Ok. I'm planning to upgrade from my LG G2x (Wind Optimus 2X) to either with Galaxy S3 or the One X+ (North American - Telus Canada versions). I'm leaning to the S3, but I want to see if people on this forum can change my mind. My criteria:
- Real-life performance (benchmarks are moot)
- Battery-life
- Camera performance
- Construction quality
- Future proofing (ROM development both 3rd party or manufacturer)
Coming from the LG G2x, I've learned a lot of lesson on areas I've gotten burned. That's one reason I've ruled out the Nexus 4 (being LG) and that fact that 16GB is not freaking enough. Google is smoking dope if they think we can get everything off the cloud and don't need much storage...not when we're on a plane or in the subway. I've learned that nVidia is terrible and doesn't support or provide source code for the Tegra (at least for the Tegra 2), I've learned, that though the processor was great, the G2x was totally short on RAM 384MB (usable), I've learn that given all these issues both LG and developers here and there weren't spending much effort supporting the device.
I much prefer the design and construction of the One X+ over the Galaxy S3, I also prefer, Sense over TouchWiz, but I'm open to trying new ROMs, skins, and launchers. I prefer things to work well stock, out of the box, but again if I need to rolling in a new ROM (or just a nice update on Android, I'm happy to do so.)
So I've probably already convinced myself based on my criteria, the S3 is better choice for me, even though, I dread the look and the feel in hand, and the fact that it's as ubiquitous as the iPhone. So someone convince me otherwise to go with the One X+ instead.

I just came from the s3 and all I can say is if you like features speed and a beautiful phone one x plus is for you as for development the s3 is going to be best if you like switching roms

How do you find the battery life and camera compared to the S3? Reading reviews online and the battery thread here, I still sense the still S3 wins in those categories.

It depends on what ROM you plan to use for battery life. I can't make a solid answer about battery yet, but I will say if you plan on gaming it eats up battery pretty quickly. IMO, I prefer the One X camera. Audio quality on the one X plus seems better as well. My advice would be to go to a store and try both phones out and see which one is best for you.

The battery is about the same as my s3, that I owned for 4 months it's about 8-19 hours depending on how heavy I use my phone mostly tapatalk YouTube pulse facebook talk and texting all day with some GPS navigation. The camera is about the same, (HTC camera software blows Samsung's out the water) HTC one x wins all the way in my book, the phone works great s3 software is still ics stock while the one x is jellybean.
One thing I wanna note is the one x plus has no lagg at all the speakers on the s3 internal and external sucks compared to onex+

Not a lot gaming at all. More surfing, videos, and I tend to use navigation a lot when I'm travelling. I hate having my phone out of juice in the middle of the afternoon especially when I'm travelling in another city because I was using the navigation/GPS a lot.

For me personally there is also a non technical/specs related reason. I've always been a fan of HTC devices. Design, build quality and reliability is the best among Android devices. Eventhough competing brands might offer a specs wise slightly better device, I keep supporting HTC by buying their products. I want the company to stay in the Android phone business! Otherwise Samsung or Apple will soon be the only main manufacturers...
I also come d one s3 and j have a passion which is the concert, level video photograph, battery, the one x + is to superieur in s3 however that ci etait root

Agree 100% on HTC as company. In fact, I was using HTC for my two previous devices prior to going to the LG G2x. Again big regret going to LG. But times have changed a bit and Samsung is really pulling ahead in the Android market. My biggest concern with One X+ reading around is the battery life. Right now it seems some people are doing fine with while others are having some serious battery drain issues. I might need to get the device and try it a couple of days to really find out for myself.

Isn't there a 14-30 day period when u buy a phone that u can return it no questions asked with a new contract? If so, why does anyone need to tell anyone answers to questions they can figure out on their own? Lol. Get the S3, play with it for 10 days, return it for hox+, return it in 10 days, then stick with the one u like best. If u can't figure out battery life in 10 days then a smartphone probably ain't for u, lol! Some people
If you had to choose between phones, choose between the Optimus G or the HTC One X+. I say this because I personally want to spend $200 on a phone with 1.) Good Build Quality and 2.) not outdated Hardware (the S3 has a dual core, all phones now have quad core). If you want many ROMs, then get the S3. I've had all 3 phones, and I'm sticking with the One X+. Battery life is on par with S3, but the Optimus G has the best out of all. One X+ screen is on par with Optimus G, and they both blow the S3 screen. S3 and One X+ cameras are both good, Optimus G's is mediocre.
Hope this helped.

I'm in Canada, so things are a little different with our carriers. My current provider had a 30min voice and 50MB data usage limit to void the device return policy even though the period is 14 days. I'll have to look into Telus's policy more closely if they also have something similar. That and we have 3 yr contracts and better healthcare...
I just returned my One X+. I wanted it because I really like the 64GB of internal storage. Plus I was getting bored with my Galaxy S3. I knew I was losing RAM but figured it was worth the trade off (the U.S. GS3 has 2GB RAM vs 1GB for One X+).
I have the GS3 with AOKP and after using the One X+ I realized it is NOT faster than my GS3 like I was thinking it would be. I knew the One X+ was not as friendly to root and flash ROMs like the GS3 but I was willing to just leave it stock. It's not that it lagged or anything. It works great as is. It's just that having the Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 (Nexus 4) it did not offer the performance boost I was looking for. As for the storage, my GS3 does have less internal storage but it does accept SD cards.
It does play better looking games than the US GS3 with its Adreno 225. It will get really hot playing the high end games but I had a case on so I didn't feel it as much. The One X+ GPU is not better than the iPhone 5 GPU or even the Nexus 4 with its Adreno 320. I knew that before hand but was still fine with that. I just mention it here in case you didn't know.
As for battery life, I had a PowerSkin on my One X+ that offers some protection AND has spare battery power if and when needed. So I didn't have a battery problem myself.
If your fine not having a device that's as friendly to hack and has as much developer support then I would say the One X+ would be good over the GS3. I didn't like that by keeping my One X+ stock that I couldn't disable all the bloat but it was a small price to pay I guess.

You do realize the one x+ has a 12 core gpu. IPhone 5 is a quad gpu and I'm not sure about the s4 pro.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2
lol. You believe because it has more cores that makes it better? The “cores" are not equal at all. The GPU's are different. And although you see that number you are very mistaken to think that makes it more powerful. Its not. Its not even close to being the same.
No the iPhone 5 has a 3 core GPU. The iPad last I check has the quad core GPU to push all those extra pixels. Benchmarks can show how many frames the devices run loading and playing certain things. The iPhone 5 in mine and others who done it handles and plays way smoother with mores frames in those intense benchmark 3D tests.
I forgot some people can't accept a device they like or has being less powerful and beaten by other devices. In whatever area. I didn't mean to make think the One X+ GPU is not good. It just really is not better than the other two I listed. Once my devices GPUs are beaten by others I have no problem accepting that. In fact, I said the Tegra-3 was better than my Adreno 225 in my GS3.

I'm passing on the Optimus G and Nexus 4 as well given my bad experience with my LG G2x...it's probably the worst experience I've had with a phone.

Optimus G --- To Nexus 4 --- Back to Optimus G

So I bought the Optimus G, LOVED IT. But couldn't help be tempted by the Nexus 4 which I managed to get ordered in the first round of madness. After using the Nexus 4 for a few weeks, I regretted selling my Optimus G, now I've sold the Nexus 4 and bought another Optimus G. I know I know crazy right.
Anyone trying to decide?
- The Optimus G feels faster than the Nexus 4.
- The HSPA+ which I thought wouldn't be so much of a deal breaker was actually pretty painful. I also got poor reception, dropped calls, and frequently missed calls which I can only attribute to a signal issue, and that I believe somehow related to not having LTE. I can't put my finger on it, but I tried various APNs and still missed calls frequently, and I was getting roughly 1-2Mbps on HSPA+ Never had that issue with any other phone including the Optimus G.
- Battery life on the Optimus G was WAY better than the Nexus 4. This could also be related to the whole aforementioned signal issues I was having causing my battery to drain quickly. But I was very disappointed with battery life.
- Nexus 4 felt thicker.
- Nexus 4 on screen buttons don't hide in any app other than YouTube taking up precious screen real estate.
Jelly Bean while nice is a bit over-rated. Photospere was cool and it worked flawlessly, but how often are we going to use it? It requires an Android phone or Google+ to view. Google Now I was expecting more from it. A little disappointed. Wireless charging on the Nexus 4 was very convenient. You never had to fiddle with the power cord in the middle of the night etc.
So back to the Optimus G I go. I'm surprised this phone isn't getting much publicity. I suspect it's because LG shot themselves in the foot by selling sub par products in the past, locked bootloaders, and failure to update their phones.

Actually the Optimus G feels WIDER and THINNER. But when I place them together, oddly enough the Nexus 4 just feels a hair thicker. I really think the rounded edges of the Nexus 4 make it feel smaller in width, but thicker in general.

Yeah For me the HSPA+ was a dealbreaker. I love my Optimus G. I worked cell phones before and always gave LG a second thought because of its direction and lack of attention to customers. I now have faith in LG that they can really turn it around with their elegant design being a huge determining factor. Jellybean is extremely overrated but with project butter being such an improvement on many phones especially the s3, and the optimus g being a powerhouse I wonder how better it will be! Transitions and all the Ui graphics are extremely fast and the touchscreen is super good/sensitive with the Ui being optimized on JB can be the cherry on top! I feel like if LG really wants to capitalize on the LGOG they can add a premium suite to the optimus g kind of like what samsung is doing. Other than that I love everything about my phone.
My minor gripe is of course the glass being both front and back and idea of cold vs hot touching the back. Im afraid of waking up one day and finding my back of my phone cracked. Ever since I installed an invisible shield front and back I have a peace of mind but damn I hope it can endure a drop if that ever happens one day.
Im sure the phone will strengthen through word of mouth and the awesome niche of Optimus G owners there are. I just havent seen many tech sites featuring it as well as it should.
Lol this glass isn't going to take a drop and come out unscathed.

S3....+n4....+og.....-n4-og=s3!!!
Well as the title suggessts....had the S3 since launch...got an N4, got an OG and since the N4 has been sold on CL and the OG is up for sale as well and I'm back on my S3. Bottom line....it is an incredible device with great specs, but it lacks what the S3 was finally able to bring to the android community! That was the major hurdle faced with Android phones over crapple in the past. They always had better machines but the user experience was just better on an inferior machine! That's how I feel the OG is at it's current state! I guess the best way to describe it...is the phone is blazing fast but it's jumpy....not fluid....and if you come from the S3, even with ICS (JB there's no comparison) it's just not there yet...not to mention all the issues you face if you plug it in to the charger lol....anyhow this is my 2 cents...

I'm on the fence although I agree with you on the SGS3 but I don't think the G is that bad I think it just needs JB to make it awesome
from my Nexus7 while my Optimus rests
I had all the phones GN2, GS3, Htc one x+ and the Galaxy Nexus, the best device so far is the Optimus G, ICS is fast JB is over hyped its the same as ICS. This is the fastest phone right now and the BEST.

Im thinking the same thing.
I originally had the optimus g for att, then i found i good deal on eBay for the nexus 4, now im heavily considering which phone i should keep. i feel the nexus 4 has a way better/ easier feel/experience compared to the OpG. Battery life is still hard to tell but in my limited experience i think the optimus g at least for me has the worse battery life compared to my previous phones. the LTE over 4g is a real kicker thought and after using lte for only 2 weeks i already miss it. Initially i was all for the OpG, but when i found out otter box only made a case for the Sprint version i was furious. Ive actually started thinking about just keeping both for a month or two, and seeing which one i can get to work to my standards in both speed and battery life. If you guys have any recommendations for prolonging battery use let me know, ive already spotted a couple threads related to the matter.
also just throwing it out there for the nexus 4 "lte Chip" usage, i live in Chicago where areas reportedly might use band 4 of lte, and i didn't get jack diddles. too bad the Nexus didn't have Lte option for like another 100. would definitional keep me on the lg Google train.
Also I do have to say the notification light on the nexus is a much better choice compared to the OpG power button light, seeing as most cases will cover up or severely diminish the usefulness of it.
sorry for rambling. these are just my thoughts as they come to me.
Since picking the phone up and playing with it for over three hours. I have not once thought about it having ics cause everything is so smooth!! Even the best buy rep said the phone is fast! She was like" dang maybe I should have gotten this instead of my gs3."
From typing, to opening apps, to browsing the web. I have not gotten this phone to lag or stutter once. Most of my phone decisions have been over" does the device have any development" This is truly the first phone that I DONT even want to root or flash anything to it.....for now. I'm content with the phone and to me it's a BIG underdog. No offense to the gs3 cause it think it's a great device. But it has nothing on the OG. And I haved ALOT of android devices!

By extreme luck I've ended up with a Nexus 4, a One X+, and the OG. The N4 is my daily driver and at first I was using the OG as a backup but now I'm using the One X+. It has a bigger dev community and gets a bad rep for running hot or using a Tegra 3 chip. I don't think anything can dethrone my Nexus 4 as my daily driver due to it having amazing dev support. The One X+ I mainly use for battery heavy tasks like YouTube and keeping up with my news and sports.
Nexus 4 - Untouchable developer community (that's what we're all here for right?)
One X+ - Absolutely gorgeous screen and great feel in hand. Also best camera of the three.
OG - It is indisputably the fastest of the three at stock. But lack of development and that awkward wide shape the AT&T version employed has it in the box either waiting for me to sell it or seeing if it can catch up in development. Probably leaning towards the former.

I have a Nexus 4 as well and use it on at&t and love how smooth it is compared to my last device the GS3 but I'm thinking of trading it for the the at&t OG because the onlly way the Nexus 4 has great battery is if you switch to 2G/edge but its pointless because with those speeds its too slow to use really
It is difficult to explain to someone how the OG feels more premium than the N4! Although they are almost twins, the OG is way superior. In feel, display and most certainly, battery life.
If LG would only open the bootloader and the source code, this would be the top dog out there for rom extremist.
Just my 2 cents.
The N4 is a great device especially for the price, but I haven't missed it yet.

I always look at it like this, especially with phones that get a lot of dev support.... Buy whichever non-nexus phone that you like the most based on specs, screen size/quality, hardware, camera, etc.
Then like I said, if there is a lot of dev support, just flash an aosp based rom of your choice if you want the nexus experience.
I personally always like to have the option of going back to a manufacturer ui if I want to. But I understand if you only like stock android. And I understand your hesitation since this phone isn't guaranteed any sort of dev support.

That's one reason I like the s4 is because at least I have the Google edition Roms. But then I have the same concerns you had for leaving the s4. I had the optimus g last year and Dev support picked up after I had left and gone to the note 2.

i'll have the one and g2 come tomorrow (as well as a lumia 1020) if i find some time i'll put together a comparison. personally i'm curious as to the hand feel of the g2 vs the one as i've been hesitant to get above 5" screen phones for a while due to them seeming too big for a phone. the g2 on paper seems like it might hit that sweet spot in size for me.
i'm curious to see how the camera stacks up to the one and 1020, as the 1020 has the best camera i've seen on any phone ever.
yeahh... G2 Roockkk.... i prefer G2 feature than every S4 air feature,

I'd love your opinion on further comparisons between the phones. I have a DNA ATM but have that incurable upgrade itch, though paying around with software has gotten me by this far. BLUF: I'd wait until unlock and ROM'd and purchase a matte finished cover with it.

It was not tough to justify spending $140+tax on the G2 knowing I could sell it ASAP and exit my verizon plan with the ETF paid by anyone wanting to pick the phone up today.
Continuing on the comparison, I've put Nova on, added the double click to sleep from sleep lock and the G2 is solid. The battery and fast charging are great. Fast charging my phone yesterday from 50% to 100% was under 1.5 hrs. Only down side would be picking up another fast charging plug. I have two DT-900s for wireless charging, home and work, and love that Verizon included the wireless charging feature as well. If you do not already own one, pick it up ASAP from AT&T for $25/ea, rumored to be available at 3 for 60. On the G2, Automatic dimming is "different". I'm not a fan of LGs auto dim feature. You set a baseline % for auto dimming, but the function seems lacking adaquate rapid adjustments from dark to light conditions in comparison to the DNA's.
I picked up the G2 for the clean bezel w/ on screen buttons, wider screen, included wireless charging capabilities and huge battery. Two out of four are found on the DNA. My dislikes on the G2 non-matte finish\fingerprint magnet back, LGs implementation of auto diming on this device (could be me, could be their design), and the locked bootloader\rom.
The HTC one has been out since May I think or maybe April and of course a newer phone will outperform it but that doesn't mean it's still not a nicer phone overall. The HTC one max will be a better comparison.

Need feedback about LG L9 phone if possible compared to HTC Sensation

Hi all!
I am trying to decide between the Sensation for $60 used vs the LG L9 for $75 used.
It is for my mom which is why I want a bigger display. Gaming is of course a non issue so as long as there are no performance issues that are horrible, I feel either one will do the job.
How is the situation with the L9 right now, performance and rom wise?
Any feedback is welcomed!
PS I never had an LG phone but it looks good and a big screen as needed so I am almost decided to go with it, but still would like some user feedback. :good:
Both phones are great. I have Sensation and my girlfriend LG L9. Sensation is much faster and better phone if you want to play or need overall performance. Don't even compare low end LG from last year to high end Sensation from 2011,they aren't on same level.

You should get the sensation. Since they got an ion kernel, development has been going good.
