Hey everyone. I'm looking for a case that will look professional in the office I work at. I seem to find a variety of cases with part of what I'm looking for but nothing worth the whole package.
Keys:
* No plastics, crazy designs, neon colors.
* Space for business cards and a stylus sleeve
* Dock attachment a plus, as I do is the keyboard dock.
* Other storage areas and utility parts a plus.
Thanks in advance!

Acase
Acase makes really nice leather (I think) cases that look professional while providing a kick-stand and protection from drop damage. They're about $20 on Amazon. Works great on my Asus TF101, but they have a similar one for the TF300T.
Check out our DESIGNO PERFECTO, and DESIGNO Series for the TF300T here: http://www.caseen.com/Transformer-Pad-300-TF300-TF300T-TF300LT_c_39.html
Well reviewed case, and the hottest thing out on the market currently by us =).
Lots of reviews all over the web, and will guarantee you satisfaction

I purchased the case in the link above but in the brown leather. It'll be here around the 2nd week of Jan. According to the specs and reviews it is real leather and very well made.
A few have given bad reviews but its a very low percentage. It'll be interesting to see how it is. I'll be sure to write a review on it.
I know several people who have bought the Poetic brand and they all are very happy with the product and price.

Everything I have ordered has been first class and very good value for the money.
While there get this stylus. http://www.caseen.com/VIBE-Stylus_c_32.html
I recommend iGadgitz cases. They are a fair price and has all the necessary cut outs and provisions for the tablet and dock. The link I provide here is a pink version, I can't seem to find a standard black case, unless you don't mind the pink

One of the main reasons I went for this over the Poetic cases was for the multiple ridges on the back for different heights positions when the tablet stands (less of an issue if you plan on having it docked). When docking the keyboard, you have to make sure the cover to hold in the tablet is pushed right in where the velcro is, so that it can be docked smoothly. Then there are straps to keep the dock secure.
The advantage of the Caseen case seems to be that it'll be less hassle to dock and undock the keyboard. No straps to contend with and probably easier to connect. If you switch between the two a lot then that case seems more appealing.
I thought I'd keep disconnecting and reconnecting the dock, but it's actually been more convenient for me to keep it on and have this hybrid feel. I like jumping between touch screen actions, using the well thought out hot key buttons on the dock and typing when web browsing.
I've lived with the Caseen case for about a week now and can vouch for its quality, style, and usefulness. It absolutely is easier to dock and undock (I find myself doing it fairly often, actually). It's very well made and feels like very high quality (as opposed to some Poetic cases I've had).
Gripes -
It would be nice to have some small straps to hook onto the dock. It's sometimes hard to open the clamshell with the case on.
There's not really a very convenient way to keep the case open when using it with just the tablet. Using the strap ends up covering some of the screen real estate.
I ordered mine from Amazon and so wasn't able to get a stylus with it! :crying:
Overall, I'm super pleased, and will be using this case for quite some time.
OK, I just received my Poetic case today and it's nice. It is real leather and all of the ports are open unlike a few of the reviews said. Everything lines up correctly PLUS the case comes with a 3 year warranty! You can't beat it for $19.95.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007ZE26CO/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
I wanted to add are that the case is lightly padded and has a good feel to it. Also, several of the reviews I read stated that the overall feel was heavy. For those of you that have the dock already, you know that the combined weight of both is not that light. The case probably weights around a pound if that.
Here are a few shots of it.

I am looking for a portfolio case for the transformer... has anyone had any luck finding one? The Asus case seems nice, but I would like to put a couple other small things in it, have a slot for a stylus, and be under the $40 that they are charging. Here's what I'm looking for, only fitting the Transformer instead of the (shivers) iPad.

I'd be in for one of these in a heartbeat. That case looks AWESOME.
A friend has one for his iPad. It works perfect in the class setting we are in with the stand built in.
Sorry for the link not being a hyper link. I have been reading the forum for a while, and figured I should just take the dive and join in on the fun.
I'd much prefer a nice leather case too than the official sleeve. Lets just hope our eee pads become pretty popular and then lots of 3rd party manufacturer's will pump out some nice accessories.

Haha, well one thing needs to happen in order for it to become popular:
Asus needs to make more than 30 at a time and supply retailers with enough so it lasts a day or two!
Has anybody had any luck finding a portfolio case for the Transformer yet? The closest one I like/found is the rooCase Executive Folio for the Xoom.

EDIT- forget it- i saw your other review post.
Apparently Tuff Luv were creating a tri-axis case for the transformer which was due in about 4-5weeks time. I would assume it would be similar to the one they made for the Xoom. Link HERE if you're interested in seeing it. Looks decent.

Looks cheap in material and expensive in price. They already have a bunch of "leather" cases out there for tablets. If it was me, i definitely wouldnt want a leather one as they are pretty much never leather and have a better chance of cracking than other materials. Plus by the looks of that case, its literally going to add about 50% thickness or more to the tablet when its closed.

Saw your review (http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=55917642&postcount=42) and it DOES look like a really good fit. Real bummer about the top-left elastic though. If you put the top-left elastic on, does it actually press the volume button in? Or does it just block it? That might be the one deal-breaker for me at that price.

Taking photos to show the quality of any leather is tough. From what I've read about their products, I'm sure it will be high quality stuff. I would just prefer it if they made a simple book cover type case without the tri-fold parts tbh. Maybe they'll make other styles idk. The lack of quality leather cases from anyone so far is annoying.
I don't know where you are from, but here in the UK if something says it's leather, it's made of leather (unless you buy it at a market perhaps). Quality will differ though of course. Any quality leather that is cared for wont crack. I think the extra thickness is a good thing as it would protect it more. Might add a bit to the weight but I can live with that. It's a case of you get what you pay for when it comes to leather products.

I've not bothered with a cover as such - instead I was more in need of a case. Anyway, rather than buy a dedicated one (which - apart from the ones on eBay - are a bit expensive) I managed to get an HP netbook bag. This looks quite stylish - and at just over five bucks (equivalent) it didn't break the bank.
There's also a good amount of space for that crappy charger arrangement that Asus foisted on us - in my opinion the worst aspect of the product.
I just got a case from Tuff-luv, and i think it is really great.

I haven't seen any cases that work with the Asus dock that look good.
I couldn't get the above link to work but tough-love has some ok cases on this page you may consider. Though I still like my slim case better, but it dosen't work with the dock.
http://tuff-luv.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Asus+Transformer
I have the official Asus Transformer case that I picked up at OfficeMax for $29.
It has flanges around the sides where it was sewn together but overall feels great and is a really good fit.
Downside is that it seems to be made upside down, so the flap wants to hang when open. You can fix this by rotating your screen upside down, but it doesn't play well with all apps.
The other gripe is that the charger port is near the "hinge" fold so you have to have the case open to access the charger.
I'd be interested in just a hard/thin plastic back that snaps around the corners and has a flap for the top.
Thank'd all of you.

Same problem here. Do you have a link to product?
Bluerex Ultra Slim KIND OF works with the keyboard.
You can use the keyboard with the case when it is open, but you can't really close it around the keyboard for storage.
i purchased this one Poetic(TM) Stand Leather Case from Amazon. it fits perfect nice and solid. looks professional. and its a good price
bought the custom folio case from electronic crap.
http://electroniccrap.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_36&products_id=62
sits nice around and good protection. can easily separate the tab from the dock and still have good protection on the tab.
The third fold closes nice with magnets, with and without dock. it also keeps the tab upright when docked and used on your legs. (the weight of the screen wants it to tip over when on the legs are not completely horizontal)
the only downside was the cover over the tab blocked the left speaker. but a sharp knife solved the problem.
Thnx for the info.

Yeah, it's kind of pricey but if you can afford it I totally understand getting a nice one. It's something you'll be holding for hours and hours. And I'd rather cover a really cool tablet with nice leather than cheaper plastic.
I don't think I can afford this one but I will be looking for a nice leather one. I have good leather on my Nook Simple Touch and love it.

They are very nice, very good quality leather, very good craftsmanship. Hand made after you order so allow an extra day. They might do custom tooling for you as well if you ask.
(tried to quote dkb218, but due to a link within the quote I cant do that yet!)
or you can go on ebay and buy a nice leather folio case from hong kong for ~$8...
...and it won't be hand-made in Santa Rosa, California, and won't be nearly as nice...
But, yeah, I can't afford one of those either.
Just buying 2 Nooks for xmas gifts and reeling from the intial cost. It isn't in my budget this year. But I really like them. I will hang onto the link for a possible Birthday or an xmas gift for next year..
Thanks.. I looked at the ones at B&N when I picked up the nooks and did not like them at all. Except for black, all the color ones were like neon colors which is not my taste, and made them look cheap.. Black just looked blahhh.. I like a darker deeper richer color as these leather ones seem to have.
One Note. I noted the B&N covers had holes in the cover for air.. I would imagine not a need unless you like to close the cover and leave it on. With all the cardboard & wool & leather on these covers, I don't think the air holes are there.

What!? But then your Nook might suffocate!
(Why would they have airholes?)
Also, I wish I never looked at this thread, since those are really nice covers at Oberon design.
I got the Medici Nook Color cover in brown from OberonDesign. Worth every penny!
I got the same in purple!!
So, I just received my Oberon NT cover that I ordered a little less than two weeks ago - AFTER the shipping cutoff date that was on the site. They totally shipped before Christmas, and not way after Pretty impressive. I got paisley in green, and it's a bit darker than on the site (which is good, it's not garish at all).
They're really, really, really nice covers - not just the leather, but the fit is an exact match. The straps that hold in the device are exactly fitted, they are designed to not cover buttons or the wifi area, there is storage space in the case for papers, the cover folds back nice. About the only thing missing is a way to prop the cover up for viewing (the only thing the Kindle Fire version had). This is one of those things that, after the device it is designed for dies and it doesn't fit any similar device, is going to get converted into a sketchbook/notebook cover.
very nice wood/book covers for nook devices
There's an outfit in Minnesota that does a very nice wood/book cover for a bunch of things.
The nook color/tab cover is 40 bucks, so for both of you who aren't returning your devices to BN by Dec 26 - or who want to see if they make a case for the device you're replacing it with - check 'em out.

There are 3 heavy leather straps that fit snuggly - two larger ones at the bottom and one slightly smaller with a bit more give at the top left corner. You slide the nook into the bottom two, pull the third leather strap a tiny bit, fit the nook in there, then stretch the top right elastic over the top right corner. It's actually really snug in there, but doesn't require much pushing/pulling. I was expecting it to be less precise, more stretching etc. It's easy to take in and put in, and doesn't move at all in the cover. I have no idea how they make them by hand with this much precision - I guess test it on an actual device on every cover. Anyway, nice work, and the smell & look inspires me to pick it up for reading (versus games), which is half the goal of a cover imo for the easily distracted (me!).
They do listen! Skin cases are finally here

There doesn't appear to be any cutout, from the picture, so unless these are amazingly thin (which would make them somewhat useless for protection), I don't think they'll work with the dock.
But if they're easy to remove and put back on, they'd be suitable to use when the TP is out of the dock.
Has anyone ordered one of these? Just worry 'bout the quality and fit.
I wonder if they protect enough for a fall, has anyone tried this product?
I would actually like to know how is the fit with the prime, i think with such a big skin the long bezel sides won't be well adjusted to the Prime and might be too loose.
Found them in Amazon Germany, but no reviews yet :/

No. Based on the images of the green-colored case on Minisuit's site it's obvious that the TPU is too thick to fit into the dock. This being the case, I would have preferred that they fully cover the 'lock-in' slots on either side of the power connector, so they don't fill up with dust.
It seems like Minisuit had some engineer design it who didn't know what all the holes where for. BUT I'll stop complaining. A silicone case for $7 (shipping included) is great!

It is kind of remarkable that a company would go to the trouble of manufacturing these, but NOT bother to even see what the ports and opening actually do, to intelligently decide whether or not they need a cut-out?!?
Sheesh.

These appear to be the exact same skins just in a different color, which means that the center of the back is likely to be a little bit loose, just like with the black cases.
Mine shipped today, estimated arrival of 5/8. I'll keep ya posted.
Blah
It definitely feels like the same case, however this new one I got seems to fit a little better at the back, with less sag. I'm not sure if it was just a manufacturing difference or what. This case still has the same flimsy feel around the bezel.
My suggestion is to keep looking for another thin silicone case, if you want to give this one a shot it might be worth the 8 bucks though. I'm leaving this minisuit one one for now vs the other one I got off ebay.
Still in the market for a thin non-leather silicone type case. If anyone has seen the HP branded case for the Touchpad, that would be a near perfect case imo, with a magnetic closing mechanism or something.
Edit: After a day or so of use with the minisuit case, I feel like it is basically as good as this skin type case can get without a major overhaul. The back isn't sagging like the original one from ebay did, however the edges are still could be a little tighter (This is where the redesign would come in,) but overall its pretty good. I'm still interested in a slightly thicker version of this, it still doesn't add much protection.
For those interested, a company, BobJ Gear, is coming out soon with a very nice, silicone case for the Transformer Prime.
He's already made cases for the Toshiba Thrive, which gets rave reviews on Amazon, where they are sold.
I was lucky enough to receive one of his prototypes.
This is a tight fitting case, made from food grade silicone, very thick to provide excellent protection! Access to all ports are available. One of the photos below shows you a comparison between the cases soon to be released by BobJ Gear (shown in purple) and the case discussed earlier in this thread (the green case, on top). You'll see there's a noticeable difference in the thickness of the case, and the amount of silicone used to make the case.
This adds a little bit of weight, but provides great protection for the Transformer Prime! Case will also work for the T300, and he's planning to release a case for the T700 down the road!
These should be available end of this month.

Not a fan but im glad to see more cases popping up.
Ordered from China - I was thinking about importing more for other devices and selling them on if they were good enough, as there's an absence of silicone cases on the market here.
So, it comes in a rather nice plastic sleeve with Sikai all over it, and a very inspirational slogan: "Design originates from life. Specialization achieves quality." All good so far! I'm more impressed than I expected to be. Except with the slogan. It's not inspirational.

So I open up the sleeve. Immediately notice a really acrid rubber smell, even a few feet from the case. It's horrendous. It smells like there's been a friction fire in a condom factory. I've smelled more pleasant things coming out of my cat. You might expect this to be just the new rubber smell, but a rinse off doesn't get rid of it. No, this smell is here to stay. This certainly isn't the food grade material you get on some others. You'd be lucky to live if you ate anything off this.
Not that these things are designed for having lunch off, of course - but there's a trend today away from caustic rubber smells, BPA and parabens, and this doesn't try to follow. I wouldn't want any of the small things in my house chewing on this.
The smell is more bearable after a while. It's probably destroying my nose hairs. Okay, front view.
It looks okay. So some parts of it do take a big nod toward quality. The feel of the case is nice - the textured cover certainly won't be slipping out of your hands, and it's reasonably thick. The logo imprinted inside the case is a nice touch, too - that little extra bit, even though it's basically just a bit of blown rubber, adds to the overall impression of it.
The holes for peripherals, sensors and the cameras are nice, too - there's no spare silicone hanging off the holes, and overall it's really well made.
The back is just as nice. That textured feel is present all the way around. The Sikai logo is nicely imprinted - the detail is good. Overall, having a good feeling about it.
Okay, let's slide in the TF300T...
It goes in easily. Probably slightly too easily - after literally no struggle at all, the pad is in the case. And here's where the problems start.
Although the case fits snugly around the back, with all the holes matching up to the ports and sensors, around the front it's a different story. The front camera holes and sensors don't fit snugly - they're a few mm from the case holes, so that renders the front camera useless. You end up just seeing the ill-fitting case. All around the front of the case, the poor fit is the same:
But the holes fit nicely around the rest of the case: there isn't a mismatched hole, everything fits in and the volume buttons are taken care of nicely. They work very well.
However, leaving it on for a while, the deficiencies become apparent. That smell is back every time you get close to the tablet. Naturally, you may as well forget about using your front camera, too: it fits so poorly that it's entirely obscured by the case unless you hold it down to the glass. And the case starts to pick up the smallest of dust particles - not only that, but they stick to the case like... well, like the bad smell that the case also came with. They're a nightmare to get rid of. You're not cleaning this one in a hurry. And when you do clean it, it's going to get filthy again really quickly.
Alright, this is the black one - and we all know that black things show the dirt more. But the textured cover, while very impressive and grippy, just serves to attract dirt that gets stuck in the textures.
Not a great case - those fundamental flaws are the smell, the way dirt gets lodged in there and the extremely poor fit. "Specialization achieves quality"? It clearly doesn't. I think this is going in the bin - unless I find out a way to shrink it onto the pad, and then spray it with Febreeze every day.
Check this post out. I bought a silicone case off EBay that fits perfectly. Also, no acrid smell either. I have also listed my other purchases for my tablet in this post. The only thing missing is the dock. I just got it the other day from Office Depot. The manager even matched the price Walmart had online. I paid $119 for the dock.

Interesting. I was looking at a folding case instead. Something that's very similar to the first one - does the tablet fit pretty snugly?
Either that or a revolving one. They're just bulky, though. Kinda defeats the point of a thin and light tablet.

Oh yes, It fits the tab perfectly and I'm actually very impressed with it. Now that I've gone and bought a dock, I won't be using it as much as I would like.
I just bought a Poetic leather case for the dock and keyboard. According to the details and the reviews, it's all real leather and not the PU leather a lot of the cases are made of. I'll have it the first or second week of January and post a review for it.
Here's a link for it.
