I recently downloaded the newest version of Provision and I think I may need a little help since I'm very new to all of this. I just finished installing it and now I want to put my apps and music back on it. Well I plug it into my PC and my first problem occurs, I can't activate USB storage to transfer information between the two. I can find my phone and load it's data, but when I do it's just a blank page. I try adding the music and apps but it says the device either stopped responding or was disconnected. Problem two: I go to download gapps and I get a message saying "USB storage unavailable". I can't even download things onto my phone. I went to the online Google Play market and tried to download a few things and they all gave me a message saying the app/widget will begin downloading shortly, but they never did. So now I'm stuck with a phone limited to just calls and texting. Is there a step I forgot to take or is there something wrong with the ROM I installed?
I'd ask this on the original post but I'm not allowed yet.
hello to all, and please pardon me for my bad english.
i bought this i9100 (i9100GSMH) from ebay, from a guy who said "i was unable to find lockscreen sequence".
i was incredibly lucky, found it after some 30-40 attempts, but this is where real problems started.
The device is fully functional, 2.3.3 stock Gingerbread, branded O2, simlocked and contains all the first owner put in, more than 400 images, music, family videos and so on.
Some 7 accounts, like hotmails, two google accounts and, this is fundamental, one samsung account.
it has a valid IMEI and appears not been stolen (i contacted the girl some 10 days ago, still waiting for a reply)
well it contains also two emails from two guys who evidently bought this device and wrote to her trying to obtain samsung account's password
well, long story short: if i try to uncheck "remote functions" it prompts me with a password request (that samsung account)
the same password it ask me if i try "factory data reset". i tried subscribing another samsung account (success) but can't put in the phone (it says there is already one)
examples: i delete all images and music, accounts, various apps (some 7 gigabytes) and reboot: everythings returns in his place!
every file i put in the cell disappears if i reboot or if i "format USB storage"
in recovery mode i can't select sd-ext (to install firmware from ext-sd), tried put in DCIM but everything i put in disappears
tried various firmwares with ODIN and official update by kies: they complete successfully their work, but after reboot i have the device in the exact state it was the first time i turned it on:
lockscreen, images, music, videos, accounts, emails, apps returns there, nothing was really never changed nor deleted, everything i copied in the device simply disappeared.
this baffles me, as i read tons of forums and posts about it but everyone says you can factory reset, install firmware at will etc.
this is not the case, someone can help me?
i'm going to ask directly samsung if they can send me the "change password page", i'm running out ideas
well some news, the original owner of the cell emailed me: it isn't stolen nor lost, she sold it.
she gave me also the password (good!) for the samsung account, so i can remove "remote controls"
the password is valid and i can also access the corresponding account on (findmymobile), where there aren't any device registered.
i can delete all accounts on the device but two: this samsung account and one by googlemail.
the samsung account on the phone shows nothing, is empty, i can only select "delete account" but it says i can't because some apps blabla.
the google one is fully working, i mean it receives mail too, and is needed by some apps blabla, i can not delete.
my problem is actually the same described here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474222)
i think there are only two possibilities:
1 somewhat similar to NAND RW corruption, hardware defect, probably unrecoverable
2 samsung account and/or googlemail accounts are gone ape**it and internal SD is kept in some "security" state i don't even know if one exists.
anyone please?
Yesterday i got my virtual credit card info stolen. I learned that after receiving a call from my bank telling me that 400$ was taken from it. So they asked me to cancel the card and I said okay. The problem is after checking the recent activities I saw the website that **** used my credit card. So i called their support center they asked me for the firts 5 and last 4 digits of my virtual credit card, BUT I CAN NOT FIND THEM!! I called the bank after that and they told me they can not tell it. So i checked from paypal i found last 4 digits.
I had a screenshot received from whatsapp showing the info of the card. The problem is I formatted the phone after deleting the images. I had an 16gb microsd card on the phone. I googled and used almost every data recovery program in order to get that damn screenshot back. I scanned the sd card and the phone (SM-G900FQ SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 TURKEY) separately no solutions.
PS: Yes i rooted the phone and enabled usb debugging before trying to get it back. I can flash the phone to any firmware or root it back again if needed, just do not know what to do
Any suggestions please? Im running out of time please respond quickly..
Fixed
I got it from paypal
I clicked "encrypt", then I left it to work. But it must have done something else while I was away.
When I returned to it, it had a new standard installation, un-encrypted, un-rooted.
It asked me for a Google account and other first time setups, then it synced with a 4 day backup that must have been downloaded from my Google account, which installed all the apps that I had before, but none of their user data.
Because in the past I lacked enough free space on the internal disk, I must have moved app settings to the sdcard. Maybe this is why they weren't saved and restored automatically?
My main issue is that I lost all my Google Authenticator tokens, and on the sdcard I can't find this directory: /Android/data/com.google.android.apps.authenticator
I also tried installing on my Windows all kind of undelete tools for smartphones, but most of them fail to even see the internal storage when I connect the Z2 through USB. The one that worked great for the sdcard didn't find the directory that I was looking for.
Please help. What the hell happened? Do I have any chance of recovering my Google Authenticator tokens?
I have a new Mate 10 Pro US version - in Google Pay it sees my cards but I have to activate them so I go through it - put in my ccv code and it goes through then errors out saying something is not correct and to recheck - I havre tried my amex, my visa - nothing. I have uninstalled all the updates, rebooted, cleared the cache. nothing. It will just not activate a card. I have deleted my card - readded it back in and still nothing..
