Google Pay - cards won't activate - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

I have a new Mate 10 Pro US version - in Google Pay it sees my cards but I have to activate them so I go through it - put in my ccv code and it goes through then errors out saying something is not correct and to recheck - I havre tried my amex, my visa - nothing. I have uninstalled all the updates, rebooted, cleared the cache. nothing. It will just not activate a card. I have deleted my card - readded it back in and still nothing..

[Q] X10i, stuff missing after update to 2.1

Hiya.
Phone model is Xperia X10i. Well, the problem would be, after update to 2.1, there were no applications on phone. I did back it up, and restore ( I think that has nothing to do with apps) but it didn't help. Even some standard apps, like Google Talk were not there.
However, I managed to get my hands on .apk files needed to install GTalk, I browsed with some file manager to that .apk's, but when I selected one, it said that application is already installed.
When I tried to reinstall it (uninstall & install), it said "Uninstall not successful", but other option, "Launch", worked, it loaded Google Talk, it worked fine.
Now, question would be, how to get that (and other) applications to show up on phone, in menu. Seems they do exist on phone.

I also had this problem but it was partially resolved when I reinstalled SAM from slideme.org and clicked on options-->more---> SD card and reinstalled softwares from SD card.

[Q] Frozen Downloads in statusbar

I am so angry now i could smash my X10 mini pro to the groung!! I tried to download 1 app, and it stopped downloading (still in statusbar with the wodnloading icon). Whenever i tried to tap it and get to stop install, it opened another one. I did this untill it got to 31!!! now i have 31 downloads there, that will never going to download.
I cleared cache, uninstalled updates and still there when i reboot phone. What the hell should i do? I am going crazy.
And there is no Clear Data for the market on the x10 mini pro... Is there any way i can get rid of those downloads stuck in the statusbar? M phone is rooted, stock 2.1 SE rom and a lot of apps + link to SD, so i wouldnt want to reinstall the ROM...
EDIT: can you guys post me the original vending.apk and marketupdate.apk for x10 mini /mini pro?
I'm having the same problem with a x10 mini (not pro) I asked google but they only gave me general information like cleaning cache or do a factory reset. I'm at my god-knows-what-number complete reflash of the phone.
I think the problem is rooting this time i'm gonna give it a try without rooting and if it works try to find another method of rooting. So far I was using flashtool.
I'll post what i find out, right now i'm going with the generic e10a 2.1 update from argentina since the telcel rom doesn't have google talk (thus making the "sign out and in from google talk suggestion completely useless, not that it actually worked).
Also try to download an image (any image) from the browser, even that should get stuck.
I was wrong, again. The root has nothing to do with it. With android software 1.6 everything works, but once I update to 2.1 *bam** the problem returns.
All this happened from day to night!
It's not the router i'm using, two computers, an iphone and a rooted nook don't have any problems!
Ok I tried with another google account and I managed to download one app (the ebay app) then nothing else :/
Sorry I cannot be of much help, maybe someone else has some other ideas? I already tried these from the android market support:
- Cancel the download and retry
- Ensure there is enough space on your device for the app to install
- Reboot your device
- Clear your Market cache (Settings > Applications > Market > Clear cache)
- Confirm there is strong connectivity on your device, and contact your
mobile service provider if you aren't connected
- Uninstall Market updates (Settings > Applications > Manage Applications;
select "Market" under the "All" tab/filter, and touch "Uninstall updates")
- Unmount and remount the SD card (visit Menu > Settings > Storage >
Unmount SD card; then Remount SD card from the same menu, or restart the
device if the remount option isn't available)
- Factory data reset
- Cache and Dalvik Cache format
- Restoring the phone to 1.6 then update to 2.1 (carriers branding tried: Rogers, Telcel, which is the original one that came with the phone and now an unbranded one from Argentina

Can't buy from Google Play

for the past 10 days i keep getting an error which prevents me from buying from google play.
it always says: "Payment Declined, sign in to your google wallet account from a computer to update your credit information".
this started when i replaced my credit card (it expired), but i have done every single procedure that i can think of to get this to work:
1) i registered the new card
2) the new card has money
3) the new card is allowed to do internet transactions
4) i updated the credit card information countless times (both from the phone and from pc, when it didnt work i deleted the credit card and added it again)
5) the phone went through a factory reset
i am basically devoid of ideas, any suggestions?
so no one has any ideas?

[Q] Changing ID for backup in Google account

Can anyoen tell me if and how I can change the identification for the settings backup / restore in the Google account on a rooted device, resp. what is used as identification there?
Situation is as follows:
- old device had a sudden death and the Titanium Backup was unluckily on the internal SD, not on the external one (don't ask)
- device got replaced
- device rooted and CM 10.1.3 put on it
- selected to restore from Google account
- now it started to install the huge amout of apps that was installed on the replaced device
- this at some point broke and the remaining apps just had error 920 and were not installed
- I just wanted to try it again, so I made a factory reset
- same as before, but now ALL apps got the 920 error and nothing was installed, so I assumed this was probably some anti-DDOS thing in playstore and thought I'd try again after some waiting period
- after waiting some time I made another factory reset, but now it doesn't even try to install any apps but does nothing
I assume that, after the last failures, it rememberd for the specific device that nothing is installed and thus does not try to install anything again now.
Thus my idea to change the ID with which the backup is identified per device.
I already tried to change the Andriod ID with Titanium Backup and to do another factory reset, but that doesn't really help either.
Hopefully someone of you can help me with this.

Problems with Backup

Since i've updated my Z5C to marshmallow I've problems with the backup function on my phone.
At the moment i can only backup to SD card, the backup to the google account does not work.
Maybe someone can give me a hint what i can try to solve the problem.
So when i go to "Settings - Backup & reset - Automatic backup" and tap onto "SD card" in the section "Where to store files" the small popup window came up where i can select "Online account, SD card or USB Device".
When i tap onto "Online account" i can see for a second an additional popup with "signing in" but this window disappear immediately and I'm back in the popup "Where to store files".
At this stage i can leave that popup only by tab onto the back button and the strange thing here is that i have to tap back twice to go into the "Automatic backup" window. So it seems that the phone thinks that it is in another screen (so i'm in the popup "where to store files", tab back button - still in the same popup, tab back again, back in the Automatic backup" screen).
I removed the google account already from the backup settings and i removed the google account completely from the phone and added then afterwards but nothing fixed the problem.
Could it be that there is something corrupt on the google account and can i delete all backups on the google account? or is it more related to the marshmallow update which i've made with OTA.

I have exactly the same problem on my phone Z5C black.
Phone after a clean installation with full wipe, but increasingly dysfunctional.

Same bug here, not tried to full wipe (already full wipe to update and too lazy to do it again...) btw never managed to backup successfuly on any xperia I've owned... Z5 is the first where I succesfuly backup manually local? Online used to work after update but seems that's gone... waiting hopping april update will fix this
