I'd say Meizu phones are the best of the Chinese phone lot. Meizu MX is really nice, though a tad iPhone-y.

Hello, how are. Well tell them that I'm brand new to android so I know understand, if this happen to some other thread, just let me know. It turns out that a few weeks ago to buy a mobile named: HDC Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 mtk6588 to 1.4ghz, 1g ram, 8gb rom, 16 gb sd, 8mpx cam, 2mpx front cam, 4.8 inch lcd. The truth is a great phone for me at least a passing Omnia 2 has this. The point is that as desconosco were unaware even android and I wanted to root as the play google told me he had updates for some applications, at that time I did not know use SuperSU benia already installed, and I had no better idea to follow a statute root of this type of phone, but for mtk 6575-6577. and so I did, the point is that now tells me I have 480 MB RAM and 1GB, 2GB rom and 8GB, 2GB sd and 16gb ARMv7 processor (VFPv3, Neon), and not a mtk 6588. Wifi does not work, or the camera or bluetooth, if the 3g and data. I learned to use the tool and flash recovery mode, I tried as much ROM for this type of mobile found, of course whenever with mtk6575 but the flash tool or update. zip I get errors. Firmware for Mtk6588, there is on the web at least I did not find it. It is not more to do, so I turn to you to see if there is a solution, or simply lost mobile. Hi all.
Sorry first if I have put this in the wrong thread but wasn't sure where to ask for help.
Well I currently a nexus 4 owner coming from iPhone 4. I always been a android man just gave iPhone ago.
My wife lost her iPhone 5 so she wants take my beloved nexus. Now I would say no you carnt have it but everybody knows its not that easy.
I have a £100 budget maybe scrape a tiny bit more like £120. But no more then that really.
I would like to get a phone with similar fire power to the nexus and with great dev support for custom roms.
I've seen a few Chinese branded phones with quad core cpus but not sure which one will have great support for on here.
Any advise and where I can buy from will be much appreciated.

I agree with your point of view, but this phone is not much.

In China, Huawei cell phone quality is very good.
£ 100 to buy a good phone with some difficulty.
For a cheap phone, I think the Huawei G300 is pretty nice. You've got a team of developers working on Cyanogenmod for it, as well. It's the best price / performance phone in your budget range. However, it doesn't seem really that compareable to the Nexus 4 (which is great), but there's not much else you can do with your budget!

I have buy a S4 copy in aliepxress. The brand/factory is Meso, great phone with MTK6589, 1GB RAM, 720p screen (5 Inch), some motion and gesture availible and 1:1 copy, so we can used original back cover and batterie. I want know who in this big and great forum :laugh: have same phone like me (Meso, no HDC Legend).
So with coop, we can translate in our lanaguage (I'm french), beacuse like all chinese phone, not all in french/spanish/italian.... and we can do great ROM for have more RAM, batterie life, maybe fix some bug......

I've got blank screen on both
I guess there are differences on boot.img (Spark display is only 2-point touch, and Legend/S6 are 5-point. Maybe driver issue.

Thanks for the Kingo suggestion.
Unfortunately I'm not having luck with it. After hours waited to download drivers* (their server is slow) it keeps blocked and stuck on "fetching scripts". Since it seems a common problem I tried it severl times, last time I even left it for almost an hour. With no results.
I've got Windows 8, and I used DSEO to disable driver signature checking. (someone says that won't work on Windows 8)
Any help will be truly appreciated.

*For next users, if you won't loose time as I did, download HTC drivers from KINGO website (they are the driver needed by Kingo for our GT72).
I solved in 5 SECONDS with 'Framaroot', directly on the phone, without any f****g complication with FRAMAROOT. Imho, best ever.:good:

For ex:
In the car holder, i can't see from about 45degrees... Not related with weather.
When i am looking from different degrees, even at home i only can see "true colors" if i look "in front"

Though this isnt a branded phone, its not also a very rubbish phone. Today I've tried to flash a custom rom. Before this I have used a custom rom of Galaxy S4. I have rooted my phone and flash the rom through CWM.

That's the reason you should only flash ROMs for your specific phone model and not from other models. This one is specific for the Cubot GT72 (I have a Cubot GT72+ and I'm not flashing this one).
Ask the people who sold you the phone to see if they can contact the manufacturer for the correct ROM for yours.
I've recently purchased a phone from China( K-touch V8 Smartphone Tegra 3 Core Quad Android 4.0 4.5 Inch Gorilla Glass Screen 3G GPS 16GB - copy+paste of the order).
So far so good. The problem is I can't install Google Market, nor does it have one already install. So I thought I'd root it. Literally the only relevant thread I could find was on these forums. I'm new to rooting and smartphones in general so half the things I read there, I didn't understand.
Long story short, how would I go about rooting?

You could try binary4 method . That's how I did my blu quattro 4.5 hd . Just google search binary4 root method z1 . Used version 15 . Before you start make lockscreen pin .
