GPS not working on MIUI ROM - HTC Rezound

I just flashed the latest MIUI ROM and I am having trouble getting the GPS to lock. It just hangs at "searching for gps". I tried messing with the gps.conf file with no luck.
Anyone have any suggestions? A couple people on the thread said they had similar issues, while some others are not having the issue.
Thanks.

I just went and restored a couple old ROMS that I had backups for, and none of them are working (GPS)...could there be a problem with my hardware? Is there anything I can do to confirm that?

This is a long shot, but were any of those backups Sense roms or were they all AOSP? I remember on the Thunderbolt to get a GPS lock on AOSP you had to first get one on a Sense rom. I don't think that this was an issue on the Rezound, but you don't exactly seem like a normal case.

I was actually going to try a Sense ROM next as a last resort. All the backups were in fact AOSP ROMs.
Also worth noting, the GPS Status app is sometimes able to fix a few satellites (but still not provide location)
It was just up to 4/11 Fix./Sats.

Just loaded a relatively stock Sense 4 ROM and still no dice - no GPS lock at all.
What is left for me to try?

[Q] GPS Broken Broken

Hello well not sure but I think my GPS is "broken broken" like maybe something hardware related but just wanna to check with you guys first instead of doing anything drastic.
I think I first noticed when i was on a build of trigger(cm based) that the GPS kept searching for location and unscessfully tried the CM7 GPS script. I then just decided to Odin back to stock and getting the same results GPS wise. I also tried Nandroiding back to a ROM that knew GPS worked when i use to use it(toxic w7 clone) but still no luck. Also worth noting that while on Stock Odin I tried some different Market based GPS fixes(GPS Restore GPS Aids).
Any help would be appreicated thx
some people have working gps, some dont. mine kind of works but it takes forever to lock.

Did your GPS work in the past?
I used a 2.2 build of Trigger a little bit back, and it did the same thing to my phone. I have a "fixed" hardware GPS antenna (since I did the FFC mod, fixing the GPS at the same time was a piece of cake), so when I suddenly couldn't get any GPS signal, I knew something was most definitely up. I tried the sgps "fixes" to no avail.
Eventually I flashed CM7 (since gps wasn't working either way, at that point), then Odin'd to stock, then flashed Bionix 1.3.1, and suddenly at some point it fixed itself. Now my GPS is back to working on CM7, as well as 2.2 roms.
So, if your GPS used to work fine, there was something software-wise which screwed it up.
Do yourself a favor and call TMobile. Tell them that your GPS doesn't work and you'd like a replacement. Do it three times and get a completely different phone for free.
The Vibrant is a POS at best.

Yeah this what I meant by drastic but probably my only real solution, wonder how that works though im pretty sure I'm paying for some replacement/warranty but that's only if they find out it is broken or defective right?
So glad i bought a Vibrant for my birthday as my 1st smartphone
Well I think I made some progress here, I Odin back to Eclair and to Bionix. GPS still wasn't working but GPS Test shows that there are some Satellites "in view" but not "in use" weird...

I though it was my custom rom (CM7.2) that was causing the GPS failure. So I tried flashing back the stock.. but still GPS is failing...

Anyone not have gps trouble on honeycomb?

Im just curious if anybody out there is running the stock version of Honeycomb and NOT having any gps lock problems?
No problems here. Don't use the GPS extensively but I've not noticed a problem when I use it with either GB or HC.
I use Sygic a ton! Like around 3 times a week and I have not had any problems on HC

So your not running anything special?
Not rooted, or different kernal flashed. Stock version of HC?

there is a patch on GPS from crypted,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1267899
used it and check your gps with gps-status.
Hope this help,
I saw that patch.
Looks like I will try and do that next day off.
Gotta root my tablet first though
When running CypherROM I had no problems with GPS lock.
I'm trying the de-sensed ROM now, and haven't tried GPS yet.
No, nothing special. Just the HC I got when i updated. No special Rom or anything.

This has been hashed over and over. There must be 10 similar thread on this forum so not sure why people see the need to open yet another one, but.
Nothing actually fully fixes the GPS issue in HTC honeycomb, same for all the custom HC variants. It appears to have a problem that repeatedly resets the GPS after a period of time. For some applications, it will still work if you are in a location that allows a fast lock again or for applications that need a one time fix. There is something buried deep in the driver or kernel that is playing havoc with the GPS.
STILL NOT FIXED ON ANY VARIANT OF HC.

Help me find a ROM that has working GPS plz!

Hi everyone I have been using a handful of different roms and I can't find a single one that has GPS working.
Am I doing something wrong?
I tried AOKP glitched milestone 6 w/devil and GPS does not work, tried THS build 15, and a couple JB roms.
I must be doing something wrong here since I cant get GPS working perfectly on any of them.
Sometimes it will kick in after ive been driving for like 10 minutes and then go away when I really need it. WTF is going on here?
I'll go back to GB if I have to. Anyone have any tips or advice on what I can do to get some solid GPS performance here?
Thank you so much!
Lastly, I've been trying to find a mirror for AOKP Milestone 6 Standard (without devil) but the links on the AOKP site are all dead. Anyone? ty!
Try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5lY2xpcHNpbS5ncHNzdGF0dXMyIl0. and see if it helps. When I was having GPS issues (on 2.2 stock) this helped me to get a lock. However, I will say since I went to 2.3 and then AOKP M6 I've had no trouble with GPS, so your mileage may vary. Have you always had problems with GPS, or only since you've been trying custom roms?

I don't think it is the ROMs. I have been on AOKP Build 40 Devil then MS6 Devil for a few months and have had no GPS problems.

Beanstalk/CM 11

Someone help me perfect the GPS on the CM 11 and Beanstalk roms. It isn't perfect yet, and its making it hard for me to use. The GPS works perfect on the sense roms but it's just a little bit off for AOSP roms. Anyone know of a way to solve this?

You mean accuracy is off? Are you using data or WiFi while trying to locate?

Data. It works perfect on sense but won't be completely accurate on CM 11

I've tried everything, the closest I can get the GPS is within a few hundred yards but it's not close enough to tell me exactly where I am, so it's difficult to use the navigation apps

Sorry I was being lazy as **** earlier. So the Rom first booted up and the GPS was okay, locating me within a couplehundred yards, wasn't as accurate as the sense GPS so I tried GPS fix and GPS status to try to help and that didn't do anything.

You really have to learn to be more specific.
I don't know what "GPS fix and GPS status" is. I ask again, what have you done/tried so far? Be descriptive and thorough.

They are apps that supposedly help improve the GPS, however they didn't do anything. I guess I haven't really tried anything else out, I don't know what else I can do. I just don't understand why the sense GPS locks perfectly but it won't lock perfectly on the beanstalk or cm 11 roms. What options do I have in order to fix it?

Have you tried flashing back to a Sense rom and getting a solid GPS lock, then flash to a CM11/Beanstalk?

Yes I did. Am I supposed to wipe everything after I get the GPS lock? I wiped everything before I flashed the beanstalk Rom.

I meant flashing back to a CM11 nand, but yeah...wipe everything if your want a clean flash. If you're going that route make sure the md5hash matches, file might be corrupt.
