Facebook Alerts - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello friends. I recently moved to latest XXELK4 firmware. On this firmware I did not getting facebook alert sound, vidrate & Led lights. It only gives alert whenever the screen is on & the chat activity is active. After the screen goes of & when facebook works at background then i did not give any type of alerts as i was getting on previous android 4.1.1. Is this the new firmware android 4.1.2 XXELK4 problem?

[Q] Flashing color Grey problem on background when opening threaded SMS messages

I've noticed that whenever I open my old SMS (threaded messages), there's this grey color flashing on the background that goes out quickly which I find very annoying. I got this when I updated my official firmware to the latest. How do you remove this issue? thanks!

I notice something similar at times, though not always doing the same thing. Sometimes when I open a threaded SMS, or webpage, or app, or... anything that requires the display to reset the entire background, there is a quick flickering of color. For me, the flicker is purple-ish in color, not gray. But I think the effect is the same as what you described. It started after the latest firmware updates. We (Sprint) are checking into this and hopefully will issue a fix in a future firmware update. Stay tuned.

LED notifications - limited to one??

Hi,
I picked up on something recently - it seems that if someone Whatsapps me then I get an SMS (or vice-versa) I only get the colour of the first notification I received. So for example, I have my light set to blue with Chomp SMS and green with Whatsapp and I would expect alternating green and blue pulses if I woke up to both; however I will only get blue if an SMS came through first or green for a Whatsapp. I've tried different messaging apps, including stock, to no avail. I've also tried an app called Light Manager which was supposedly designed for the S3 but this just confused my phone and seemed to stop both notification lights entirely.
I can't remember if this occurred before I installed Jellybean or if this is a side-effect because chiefly it is a query my girlfriend has with her new S3 and is not something that worries me too much. She wants to be able to glance at her phone at work and see what each notification is for. It was one of the primary selling points for her over the iPhone.
Can anyone tell me if they have this feature available to them on other firmwares or if they have found a way to make Whatsapp, Mail, SMS etc alternative on the device's LED rather than just sticking on the first colour that comes in?
Cheers folks.

[Q] Odd Notification issue

Hi all,
I'm having a wierd issue on my phone (HTC Dinc4G, CM 11 4-26 nightly). I am using the stock calendar and autonotifications. When an event goes off off, autonotification shows a popup scene and the default notification sound plays. The scene is set to cancel the notification on tap. The trouble I am having is that while the notification is canceled, the notification sound continues to play. Previously (I was using Business Calendar at the time) when the scene was destroyed and the notification was canceled, the sound stopped.
So, my question is how do I return to a state where the sound ends on notification cancel?

[Q] Auto turn on display if message arrives

The new notifications on Android Lollipop on the Z2 are quite nice.
What I like to have is that the display automatically turns on for some seconds when a notifications arrives.
I did not find an option in the settings. Is this possible without rooting?
OK, I solved it myself with the app Screen Notifications ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lukekorth.screennotifications ). Quite good although I still prefer the iOS way of notification popups.
