ALL Samsung based ROMs are doing this (look at screenshot) when I restore SMS backups I get 4-5 different threads, to the same person. While on A aosp based ROM THIS DOESNT HAPPEN!!! Why??? Its so damn annoying. I want all my sms to a person on one place - not scattered all over the SMS app any help?

What app are you using to backup and restore your SMS'?
I can strongly recommend "SMS Backup+"... also I'd recommend to ditch the default SMS program and go with e.g. Go SMS Pro

So much for the xda community.....

You give it less than 24 hours from original post and decide to slag off at the XDA community? YOu know we aren't your personal paid techs right?
Any recognition it's the weekend AND getting into holiday season for most people?
And I don't see your screenshot either...

Is there a way to recover an sms on the galaxy s3??? Thanks!

There's no way to do it, as far as I know. From now on you should back up your text messages using SMS Backup +. It synchronizes to a Gmail label.
Dam had a feeling there wasn't a way... Yeah I saw this sms back up apps when it was too late haha

If you didn't backup your text messages on Phone previously, then it might be tough to recover. I would give the free trial of Dr.Fone for Android a shot to see if you can recover the deleted text messages. Hope that I'm not late.

Hej, i'd like to save & then restore sms/call history from a nandroid, however the apps/method i tested erase current one while restoring...
For SMS there's GoSMS Cloud that works, however limit is to 1000 and i've reached it. For call logs, no idea...
I need to send back the phone in few hour so hope someone can help me to find a solution quickly... Thanks!
Not sure if it has a limit, but have you tried Titanium Backup ?

Does it have to be from a Nandroid ? If not then you can try My Backup Root.

Please!!!!!!!

Hey there!
It probably is possible to merge it, but I think this is an easier solution:
I use SMSBackup+, it's awesome! (PlayStore link.
Just backup your sms with it, they will get stored into a separate gmail label.
Now restore your old sms (overwrite the current ones) and restore the other ones from SMSBackup+.
Did work like a charm for me in the past.
Thanks, gonna try!

I have searched everywhere and my wife and I have had no luck, we are looking for an app or software like mobile spy that is free. We use sms to email to backup each others calls and texts, but is there a way to have an app do all of this as well as backup any image taken to email and perhaps even remote access?
We love doing this, it is a wonderful trust building exercise that has made us stronger and I would like her to be able to monitor more.
We are both rooted with custom roms.
Thanks in advance

You can use Titanium Backup and set it to backup to your Dropbox directly.

I've been using Go Sms Pro since it first ce to Android. It was hands-down the best sms replacement in my opinion. The last two updates however have changed my opinion about it. They started pushing Ads like those annoying scam apps. The last one in particular made me uninstall it. It now places Ads on the bottom of the screen. I'm done with them.
Is there any app besides Handcent, Chomp, Texter that is a good pop up sms replacement. There are many apps on the market aand I've personally come across some awesome apps that wasn't on the top of the list of best apps. So is anyone has some suggestions on apps they use or come across, I'd appreciate it.

I personally prefer 8sms, it's like stock with dark theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398767
Mysms. If the person you're texting also got it installed then the text will be send over cellular data, else it'll be send as normal sms over your carrier.
I'll look those up.

Handcent sms here, because it has greek sms mode(it removes special characters), any other app that have the same feature?

Np man, it can also be used as a standalone app without the use of the stock messaging app.

you can simply use ad blocker
it is not in play store as it is blocked by google https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install
it is the same one you uses with Mozilla and llinux
Now that the Bump'd site is up and ROMs are flowing... How do any of you backup your texts so they move with you from ROM to ROM? There are a ton of SMS restore apps out there.... But many take a long time to restore... And I haven't found anything for MMS really.
I like to flash and try things often... But I need my text history c for my daily life. If I'm going to Crack flash.... I need the easiest/fastest restore method

"Sms Backup & Restore" by Ritesh Sahu works great and doesn't require root, but if you're rooted I'd just stick with Titanium Backup. Both handle mms as well as sms.
Where in titanium can you backup sms?
