Now that the Bump'd site is up and ROMs are flowing... How do any of you backup your texts so they move with you from ROM to ROM? There are a ton of SMS restore apps out there.... But many take a long time to restore... And I haven't found anything for MMS really.
I like to flash and try things often... But I need my text history c for my daily life. If I'm going to Crack flash.... I need the easiest/fastest restore method

"Sms Backup & Restore" by Ritesh Sahu works great and doesn't require root, but if you're rooted I'd just stick with Titanium Backup. Both handle mms as well as sms.
Where in titanium can you backup sms?

One thing I can't find out how to restore with titanium backup is my text messages...
I assume its more than just the messages, and it probably a data base that needs restored...thanks in advance.

SMS Backup + works great. Backs up both call logs, and SMS/MMS to the cloud.

Another vote for SMS Backup+. Has never failed me after countless restores. Also nice to search through my texts in gmail.
Mybackup root also does this.

Is there such an app that can back up all my text messages from EVO 4G to the 4G LTE?
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post the question...
Thanks,
You could try SMS back up.. I don't know if it works from OG evo to Elte. But I've done it with other phones

two options that I tried (I moved like 12-13K of messages over from the last time I flashed a rom)
1) on your evo. Messages>Menu>backup SMS>backup SMS
remove SD card from OG
insert SD card into LTE
on your LTE. Messages>Menu>back up SMS>Restore SMS
you can remove that SD card when you are done
I assume the option to backup sms via the default messaging apps exists on the stock evo, but if not, flash a rom w/ a newer version of sense.
method #1 worked perfectly and took less than 10 minutes IIRC.
2) on your OG. download MyBackup (I have pro version)
open MyBackup>backup>data>online>sms
wait for it to back up
on your LTE. download Mybackup
open My Backup>restore>data>online>sms
method #2 takes a lot longer, its related to the unzipping/replacing the data. It took multiple hours for this method before my phone turned off because it ran out of juice (there is a bug where screen wont turn off during this process.
Method 1 worked great for me.
On my OG EVO running Tommy T's Classic there's no option to backup SMS, I've used MyBackup in the past. Guess I'll have to spring for the pro version to restore to a different device or use SMS Backup.
Just use Sms backup+ from the market, you can backup and restore your messages to your gmail and restore for free.
I used mybackup pro to transfer all of my messages and call history. Worked like a charm.

Get an app called sms backup & restore from Google play can help.
I used SMS Backup and Restore. It's free in the Play store and I was able to backup my messages on the OG and then restore them on the LTE

If it's the same one I use, it doesn't have cloud sync. He'll have to pull the backed up files from SD. Just so the OP knows.

Backup to Gmail is perfect for backing up sms, mms and call logs.
Also perfect for restoring sms and call log.
Works on any Android device and backups can be viewed from your Gmail app or viewed and even printed off from a desktop pc.
The best app for this and any backup is Titanium backup Pro version You almost can make a backup of anything !
Wrong thread btw!

You can download the add on for it and your can backup to drop box. But otherwise, yes you would have to pull the file from the SD card and put it on the new SD/phone storage

I use Titanium Back Up. Create a "batch group" of apps and data that you would like to restore on your new ROM, and that way it is just a one-click process to restore everything.
I use to use mybackup but my 30 days ran out, what's another good app, or way to transfer data?

If you have titanium backup, it has a new backup to .xml feature for backing up sms. That way you can back up sms to a .xml file, wipe/install new rom and then restore by using the restore from .xml option in titanium backup. The advantage with this is that it works independantly of whatever app you use for sms and is guaranteed to work.
Im unsure whether this is available only as a pro feature or not but the app is worth every cent in usability and has other exciting features such as extract individual apps/data from cwm backups directly from the app.
I've been thinking about titanium, but xml doesn't save mms, just SMS. So I'm not exactly sure what to use, titanium is definitely good for apps, but I would like an app that did all that I wanted.

If you're restoring to the exact same sms/mms app , you can do the standard backup + restore. The xml method is just for cases where you're switching between apps. A regular backup would backup the .db file for sms/mms.
I use sms backup and just manually save the mms to my sd card when they come in so that way they are always on there. And sms backup can do schedules. It's a nice clean program

Its so damn annoying. I want all my sms to a person on one place - not scattered all over the SMS app any help?

What app are you using to backup and restore your SMS'?
I can strongly recommend "SMS Backup+"... also I'd recommend to ditch the default SMS program and go with e.g. Go SMS Pro

You give it less than 24 hours from original post and decide to slag off at the XDA community? YOu know we aren't your personal paid techs right?
Any recognition it's the weekend AND getting into holiday season for most people?
And I don't see your screenshot either...
