We have 2 920's. About once every 10 times we use headphones we loose the right stereo channel.
Anyone else experience this?

Not seen that, have many hours listening on two different headsets for local music.
yep, same problem here. Restarting the phone helps. Headphone is Bose IE2. Must be some kind of driver software problem...
I had the same problem but with both channels. When I took a photo, the music was completely gone, the only way to get it back was to reboot the 920. Its a software bug for sure. There are many bugs that should be fixed in WP8.
No issue here with the Bose OE2... then again... I probably haven't tested it out as much as you all.
Confirmed then.
That leaves three major bugs:
1> Random reboots.
2> Freezing during Bluetooth
3> Loosing audio randomly

Weird that not everyone sees those though... I don't have any of those problems, but have seen reports of all of them. Weird.

What's up with that? Even with headphones plugged in the notification sounds go through the external speaker?
Silliness.
Buuuuuuump no one?

I would like to know the answer to this as well, my previous HTC when headphones are plugged in all sounds including notifications went through them, yet the S3 sends notifications to the external speaker, surely this is a bug?
It's absurd and not the only Samsung phone that does it. The thing that strikes me as odd is there aren't many people that seem to care about it. Google searches hardly brings up **** and this thread has gotten like 60 views but 1 response...which is you with the same question.
My Galaxy Nexus didn't have this problem. Annoying as fuc-
i'm guessing most people put their phones to silent while listening to music. that's what i do.

That's ok, but when your phone is in your pocket how do you know if you have a text/email unless you put it on vibrate?
On the top screen of your phone you will see a small i which stands for notification, i dont know whats it called but the settings menu on top of your phone drag it down and click notifications then the letter i will disappear now all notifications will alert you normally via sound like call and texts.

oops i meant i put it to vibrate. however if u do this there will be a slight pause in the music when a notification comes in(i think it only applies to certain functions like sms. whatsapp nofs dont pause my music)
I can't believe no one cares about this... I still want to hear my notifications over my headphones... Work email, personal email, specific ringtones for individual calls and texts... the list goes on. I've owned Mostly HTC, but even my Palm Pre and older Sanyo phones were smart enough to mute the external speaker when connecting headphones.
Bizarre.
I don't know if this has been explained prior to my response. Notifications work fine over blue tooth.

The issue was never Bluetooth. The problem is, you can have you headphones plugged in while sitting in the library, and if you get a notification, it will blast the entire room. Similarly, if you are in your car, the notifications don't make it to your aux port, and also, if you use the aux port, Bluetooth will not play the audio simultaneously. That's crap. On CM-based ROMs this works just fine. Definitely not a hardware issue. Sure sucks for people who use hands free kits in their cars
Same issue here with the external speaker not being muted when earphones plugged in, and unlike previous comments, issue persists when using bluetooth. Currently using Omega v32.1.
This problem affects my Galaxy Note 2 as well. Wow. How does no one else care about this? I don't understand why people would put their phone on silent just because they are listening to music. CM10 sort of fixed this issue on my GS3, but I can't use that on the gn2 because of all the custom stylus integration.
It's definitely an android thing and I can't believe that in almost 2 years since it's been logged, no traction appears to have been made.
Did a quick search through the developer forums to see if anyone has made a mod, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know, if one the many talented developers on XDA, have done anything here?
EDIT: Turns out there is an app already out there to solve this, but interesting that it's not standard in the OS.

SoundAbout barely works, FYI. I have had major issues after installing this. Sound cutting in and out just using the earpiece.

Yikes.. Might not use it then. Thanks for the feedback (will do a bit more searching to see if there are other apps that could help).

You could try SoundAbout, but as ScrapMaker states, it may cause issues with the sound cutting in/out using just the earpiece.
I wasn't going to try using it, but have over the last few days and it seems to work ok for me. Give it a go and see if it works (as I haven't been able to find anything else on the play store yet)...
I just got the galaxy note 2 yestersay and noticed the headphine issue today while working on the motorcycle. With the headohines on I can't hear the phone ring or notificationsn. what I hear instead is the music I'm listening to go mute the length of the ringing while anyone around me hears my ringing which comes off a little rude on my part and a bit annoying that it doesn't just ring through the headset.
I'm going over the settings and searching the Web like crazy but not finding an actual solution just work arounds about muting the ringer and/our putting it on vibe, neither of which is what I'm wanting or works for me.
So...usually I stream Spotify via bluetooth in my truck. About a week ago or so, I've had to turn the volume up way past normal to be as loud as it used to be. Anybody else come across this? I've tried different ROMs/kernels and they're all the same. It worked fine before a week ago, but now, not so much. I'm just trying to troubleshoot to see if its my phone or my stereo!
The only thing I've been doing to the phone is swapping ROMs/kernels (the usual), but other than that, no major changes. Possibly something has been added into the ROMs I've been using to limit bluetooth volume? I've tried both ViperROM & InsertCoin in the past few days, maybe I'll try the stock rooted ROM to see if that resolves it.
It's actually a problem with Spotify... if you read the comments on the play store it's a very common complaint at the moment.

Hi
Since updating to Nougat the quality of the bluetooth audio is terrible, it seems to fluctuate between all the time and can get very crackly and hissy.
Is anyone else experiencing anything like this - I updated using LG Bridge.
Thanks
Richard

All ok Here, using a Bluetooth Speaker
I've tried it with several speakers and several apps - I've also factory reset my phone but it's no different.

Don't what could be the problem, using the stock app with a Bluetooth Speaker in my case works the same as with marshmallow
I've emailed LG and got the attached reply - he mentions that there are problems with Android 7, but I think this might be a generic answer to blame android instead of themselves.

It can be True, after all it can be a specific problem with some Speakers, who knows.

Hi,
I also have problems with my Bluetooth (headset Bluejay X2) after the Nougat upgrade. Media works 2-5 minutes, then audio just stops... the device looks connected and the media player continues to play (silently then). I have done all trouble shooting tips I've found and eventually I also did a factory reset, still same problem. I also have an android wear connected (Sony Smartwatch 3)... actually, I will test to disconnect the phone and see if the audio works better then.
Thanks for contacting LG. I will try to do the same; I sincerely hope they will send out a fix soon, as there to my knowledge is no way to (easily) roll back to Marshmallow.

A short update; problem persists. I have tried to clear system cache and now also forced the bluetooth apps to stop. Here I come to a question...
When wanting to clear Bluetooth app, I discover that I have two different apps called "Bluetooth", only difference is that one has version 5.30.18 and one has version 7.0. Should it be like this? If not, is it possible to disable one of them?

Ok, thanks... bummer, thought it might had to do something with the problem. It might have to do with the model of headphones (still a Nougat problem though), but I don't know; don't seem to have the same problem in the car, but I do not use BT audio very much there.
One thing I have noticed on my Jaybird X2's is: when this happens and I trigger "Ok Google" (long pressing the talk button), the audio starts working again (after I cancel the "Ok Google"). So... still confused, but on a higher level
Hello,
i have a the problem that my main speaker is sometimes very low. When i start playing music it's the normal volume for about 0,5 seconds but then it's really low. The problem is really often, not always, and even a restart of the phone doesn't work. I have already reset my phone but it still doesn't work.
Does anyone have the same problem or maybe a solution?
Best regards
Zillinda
i had it. its a hardware problem they will fix only if it will stop for good and not random... (thats why Z5c is my last sony)
my orginal post https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/help/speaker-stop-randomly-t3451518
It would be very helpful to know on which firmware you are, because it could also be software related.
Sounds to me like the low volume bug which is a known issue for nougat stock rom.

I am on 32.3.A.0.376 but i already have the problem since Marshmallow.
I just saw now that you wrote on your main speaker.
Does that mean the problem is only for the upper speaker?
Or do you have the problem on both.

It's on the speaker that plays music, and not the speaker what i use when i am calling someone.

That's partially the same one.
However not exactly. You got two speakers on your device which are hardware related identically. For playing music and video both are used to get stereo sound. For voice calls only one is used normally unless you change it by editing some system files.
So when you play music and get that problem, are both speakers low or just one?

So i don't believe in a hardward issue. Seems to be the common low volume bug some devices have with nougat.
For more infos read the 3 nougat threads in general section about the .372 , .376 and the .378 firmware.
The strange thing is that you say you had it before with marshmallow. Not sure if that problem had existed before. That would make this even more shamefull for sony. Do you know which MM version had you installed before.
However you can try a clean flash of latest nougat. If it's still there, please try to make a clean install of latest MM rom 5.11
If that solves your problem you will have to wait for a new fixed nougat firmware from sony
in my case its since 5.1.1 but its randomly when i tap the speaker is start working good again (only the top one ,which it more important the top one has better sound range (100-24000Hz)
bottom one is (500-48000H) i think
i checked long ago with hertz sine wave scale
Hey guys, I got this phone last week. I like pretty much everything about it. Except for this one issue which is intermittent. On 2 occasions on 2 different days, I have had a call where I couldn't understand the other person. The audio was completely muffled. I wasn't using earphones and wasn't on loudspeaker. It's been fine other times. I have read others having problems when playing games, but I haven't read anything regarding call. Please let me know if this is a known issue andthere's anything I can do to fix this or if a fix is in the works from Xiaomi. Thanks!
