What's the difference between the International variant of the Samsung Galaxy S Player Wifi 5.0 and the US variant?

I think you should have post this on "Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0 General".
However, I own the INTL version and the main difference is the home button: on INTL the home button is phisical. I don't know any other differences maybe this is the only one.
Thanks man, I was just wandering. And your most likely right, sorry about that.

The difference between both the USA and International devices is mainly the built in storage capactity, and the screen buttons. I believe for the international you could buy a eight gigabyte or sixteen gigabyte device, and also you could choose from the white player or black player. In the USA, the default is the white eight gigabyte player. Outside of that, the features and tech specs are rather comparable.
Actually between INTL and US the only difference is the home button, but the korean version has a better camera, it comes in full white i believe, hardware home button, a tv antenna that only works in korea and a choice between 8 and 16 GB internal storage

and i think the korean version also has a dual core processor
So it's significantly better

Let me clarify these things up. The only difference between the international and the US version of this device is ONLY the home button. The internal hardware is the SAME (no differences) Now between the korean and international is the antenna for DMB and the 5MP camera.

Hey so I just bought a used Verizon Galaxy 10.1 and noticed things got pretty slow after a day of use (not rooted) so I went looking into what might be going on. I assumed it was a memory thing and when I did a "cat /proc/meminfo" I was surprised to see only 740912 kb reported for MemTotal. Aren't these devices supposed to have 1GB not 741mb?
Does anyone else see the same number?
think it might not even report the ammount of ram that android itself takes up, but dunno.
In taskmanager there is 723 MB of RAM.
My task manager reports 724M RAM.
Maybe the rest is reserved ?
The rest of the RAM is dedicated to the GPU.

Perfect, thanks for answering. I had a feeling something like that might be going on but wanted to verify.
I think I need to ditch my verizon version and get a wifi only. I want to root this but there's way more development going on for wifi only version.
Yeah the Wi-Fi model is miles ahead in xda support. Roms themes etc.

Hey ppl. I just bought my Sprint Galaxy S III. I've searched but found no answer. I was wondering why the US version (or at-least the Sprint version) of the Galaxy S III does not have the adjustable screen color profile option and the international Galaxy S III does? I've read that it is on the international version but why not ours. This option was also on the Galaxy S II. I loved this feature because I liked my screen as vibrant as possible, yeah I know the colors aren't realistic but I don't care. Any body have an idea about this? I know I'm not the only one who noticed.
The US versions don't have this option.
I wish I could make my screen as vibrant as possible too.

That sucks ass....why would they remove this option? I can't think of 1 possible reason why it would hurt to leave it..
They removed it I believe because we have a different cpu/gpu so it won't work

Read this in currents but am unclear about what the "Galaxy Music" device is. Anyone have an idea?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
I'm assuming it means the galaxy player 5.8 seeing as it comes with ICS. However if the GT-I9000 is on the list then the 4.0, 5.0 and the others may be getting JB

and the 3.6 gets nothing im sure!
Geez! JB would be the salvation for the Galaxy Player series.
Sent from a GNote all tricked out with BlackCNA, yes.
I'm holding out hope. These are great little devices, but they have so much untapped potential.
That music will be new device with 3 inch screen..so probably no JB for player

Samsung To Launch Galaxy Music Phone

As for the hardware specs, the phone is expected to be a mid-range device with dual-SIM and single-SIM versions, Android 4.0 out of the box but will be upgradable to Android 4.1, 3-inch display, 850MHz CPU, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and microSD card slot and 3MP camera.

850MHz CPU?
seems like it has worse specs than our devices and still can have JB!
Was totally thinking those were weak specs.

Possibly buying one for her for christmas. Main reason would be for voip calls, either with skype, magicjack or viber etc. She only has a blackberry so this would be closest thing to a smart phone / device she'll have.
She normally favours small devices. What size screen would be appropriate in terms of practicality? I would want her to be able to play fruit ninja and angry birds smoothly as well.

whatsapp should work out of the box. I actually have never tried Skype or video calling on the player. It should work though because it has a front facing camera and I believe it is better on the 3.6

I don't have a 3.6. Skype calls and video calls work well on the SGP 5.0. I wouldn't suggest running other apps in the background as Skype does use a lot of proc power to run.
I would suggest getting the 4.2 since the screen resolution is a lot better than the 3.6 (the 4 and 4.2 are mostly the same and the 4.2 is newer but its your call.)
I suppose Skype would work on the 3.6 as anyone else. So if you're looking for the cheapest and she mainly needs it for calls, the 3.6 is the way to go (if you want a brand new device).
On Amazon the 3.6 is $150 and the 4 is $180. But they have refurbushed ones (4.0) for $130. They also have used 4.2 for $150.
Ive decided n the 3.6 player. Do you think id need to get a case or screen protector for it? Does the build quality require one over time?

Help needed..
My friend will be buying the new Samsung Galaxy S3.. He has found out that it come in different internal storage versions (16, 32, 64 GB)..
How can he check what version (internal storage) on the phone..??
Thanks
# Sent from my blazing slimbean SGS i9000 using Tapatalk 2 #
It should be on the box! Otherwise, put in the battery press the menu button (bottom left, next to home button). Near the top it should say storage. It will not however say 16, 32 or 64 as you need to remove about 5-6 GB for the software.
Cheers..
Will check it out

This website is a fake, it's a scam. They will take your money and run.
There is no such thing as a 64gb i9305 LTE. Samsung have only made a 16gb version.
