Call Vodafone Ireland, and ask for the unlock code, it's the best permanent solution. Or, use "voodoo SIM unlock" from the play store.
Use Odin and flash the Rom you want to use. After updating/flashing your phone, you will be SIM locked again, it will always happen.
STOP PAYING some random guy to play you for a sucker. He's probably using xda methods to flash and unlock your phone.

Hi folks
I used this app to unlock my phone (SGS2) from Three UK to Orange UK - Worked perfectly...! (Rated 5 stars in the market by the way)
Then (stupidly?!) I upgraded the firmware using the Samsung OTA update this morning to WKF4 (which went well) but now I get "No Service" when using my Orange SIM. I can put in the original Three SIM card and it works fine (eg I get service and can make calls), when I insert my orange the problem returns.
I do not get a box asking for my unlock code a second time when inserting the Orange SIM.
Does any kind individual have any pointers or ideas?
Some extra information: I notice that Im prompted to download a further update (which I havent done yet). Im running on Android 2.3.3 (Yes Im rooted and have SU permissions according to Titanium backup)
*#SIMLOCK# shows everything is OFF
Any pointers welcome
Thanks
Dont know why you did not install a non branded firmware since you seem to be using UK 3 and Orange sim cards.
Search in this forum there a a few unlock tips and apps..
Great, thanks. Ill take a look.
Im new to the SGS2 (HTC Desire before) - I had planned to install a generic firmware - Perhaps that should be the next thing I try to see if it makes any difference.

As its a BETA product it might be worth emailing the dev via Goole Play .

How do i do that? I talked to the voodoo support (through the play store) but they are not willing to help

Same problem here, ive used voodoo sim unlock and sim fix,but still nothing happened, but when i dial the confirmation it says "network lock is off" dont know what to do now.
voodoo
i had this same problem . What i do is click out sim card but dont fully remove it . Unlock the phone using voodoo, back out of the app an click sim card in again . Leave it 4 a lil bit and hopefully the sim card locked shud disappear and it will ask you for your sim pin .If it doesnt work on ur first time be patient and try again. Although everytime the phone powers off it locks the network again
Hi, i was having the same problem here. Mine is a i9300 from Claro PR. This happened to me with the stock rom( it seems like all the Claro's bloatware is affecting this). I just installed a custom rom and it works perfectly now.
Hi
has anybody got this or any other method to work on the latest Jelly bean leak ROM?
I had to flash back as i was un able to sim unlock.
Does this mean we will have to get a Official unlock code to use Jelly Bean 4.1.1 in future?
i know there is a patch for vodoo but can't find it anymore

well im new and a bit confused myself here, but my wife got me a lovely new 32Gig s3 i9300 from vodafone on contract last month. I rooted it but cant remember what rom I put on it, then this week I got hammered to accept a upgrade to the BUBLG3 firmware I think. so I got annoyed when a few apps stopped working and decided I wanted to unlock and unbrand this thing, I spent the last two days chasing both a firmware upgrade only to be utterly confused as to which one is the latest unbranded rom and as to how to unlock the phone, I got the voodoo unlocker from somewhere and when I ran it it said Sim Lock: inactive. which surprised me a lot so I typed in *#7465625# and my imei to find out more, turns out that it says that command is unknown ?, with or without the imei. Then I threw in a O2 sim out of curiosity and lo and behold it works, so I am guessing either the Rom I loaded up and was overwritten ( or however it works ) unlocked it or it was unlocked when I got it from Vodafone. So many Roms floating about its very confusing to me and probably a lot of noobs which to get. Still cant get the apps to load either.
Sorry if this is of no use to you but i thought it was interesting and in context with the post header.

Hi
i think youll find most Vodaphone phones are SIM free.
I had a Galaxy Nexus on Vodaphone which I ordered through Phones4U which was also Factory unlocked
I have my s3 rooted some guy in a phone shop done it. If it's rooted does it definitely mean he's installed a different rom on it or has he just opened the superuser access.

If it's rooted it doesn't mean he's flashed another ROM at all. Just means you now have superuser access.

Hello so I can update the android fw
but when I connect to kies, it will be "connecting" forever.
using the phone itself, it will ask for SKT sim card
I don't understand this thing anymore
I'm using the 3G korean version
thanks
First does your phone have an update for its product code .
If so Download it with CHECKFUS and install via Odin .
jje
I don't understand.
It says on the phone itself it has an update, but when you try, "PLease insert sk sim"
Connecting to kies, it stays on connecting forever.
I want to update to JB when it comes out or whatever update it has now.
HOw do i remove all the SK Telecom crap off my phone? Can't i do a clean restore like in itunes, where there's no more bloatware from carrier?
Flash a stock firmware .

Second thread you started for this phone. As I pointed out in the last one there are Korean phone threads and more people who can help you out.
Rooting & Rom thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749214
General Info thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710084
To get rid of the bloatware as I stated before, you need to root it and use something like titanium to uninstall it or freeze it. As for it wanting a SKT sim card, I can't help you there because I have a SKT sim card in my phone. But there are people using the phone in other places of the world. Sure somebody can help you!
Hi everyone,
As i wrote before on xda (my topic), i disrupted my device's touchscreen while doing TriangleAway process. Then i tried many ways to recover but i convinced that it's not possible to fix it without changing the touchscreen parts. I left my device to warranty and they fixed in 15 mins. and it works great as before.
But now, i have another issue. While i was trying to recover my touchscreen i flashed official firmwares (downladed from sammobile) and rooted several times. And i disturpted device's imei somehow. I tried all methods which r given on xda but they didn't work unfortunately. I I have a last option, gonna leave my device to warranty again but don't know they gonna fix it under warranty or not. What do u suggest me to tell them? I mean, they gonna ask me how that happened but i don't wanna say i flashed firmware with odin cos i guess it ruins my device's warranty.
I need to learn, is that possible to lost imei while doing update with Kies or OTA? Or is it possible to happen with any legal application on an unrooted device? I need an acceptable reason to fix my device under warranty. Does anybody have any suggesion?
Thanks in advance.
I think you better not getting official firmware on other websites. You should use the "Firmware Upgrade And Initialization" in the "Tools" of Samsung KIES 2.5. It is totally original and it will download the latest firmware according to your model and serial number.
I tried using this function on my SHV-E210S and the IMEI was not lost but I don't know if there will be any problem on SHV-E210K.
At the same time, do you know how to make SIP registrations on SHV-E210S/SHV-E210K/SHV-E210L? I need that for putting the phone on LTE network and able to receive calls

It seems that it is a must for you to lose the warranty because the IMEI cannot be lost if the phone is unrooted or coneect to the computer with USB debugging mode. However, how come you receive the warranty as I see your location is not Korea?

my brother lives in Seoul, i'm not.. i sent it to him n samsung fix it.. in Turkey, they look for a slightest reason to not fix it.. my regards thru to Korea, homeland of Samsung
I have an AT&T Samsung S9+. OTA says that I'm already up to date and Samsung Smart Switch says that I'm already up to date too.
I've decided to use SamFirm to download my firmware and update it using Odin.
Here are my statistics:
settings > about > software information > service provider SW ver. it says ATT/ATT/ATT...
My model is SM-G965U.
- I don't know what to put for my Region on the SamFirm tool. Do I put ATT?
- If I do go ahead w/this firmware update will it erase all the data on my phone? I just want to update to Android Pie.
- My Samsung S9+ is AT&T unlocked and I'm now on Metro-PCS, will this mess up my unlocked status and what about affect my Metro-PCS status?
- I heard that using Odin can easily brick your phone, are there ways of preventing that from happening?
Please help thanks!

The First Thing You Need To Do Is.... READ, READ AND READ SOME MORE..
At this device's price point.. you don't want an S9+ paperweight.
Please.. learn what you are doing before you do it.. you should feel VERY comfortable with Odin before pulling the trigger..
Go Watch A Bunch Of YouTube's On The Subject.
While you are doing that.. if you are not going to be a "Paid Member" over at Sammobile, you need to start downloading the "USA (AT&T) version of software. I'm doing this as I type this and it takes over 3 hours to complete if you do not sign up and pay a member fee.
If you want your device to have metroPCS features.. you need to flash the U.S.C. software ( What I use on my Unlocked version ) without your sim installed.. reboot.. and it'll ask you to insert your carrier's sim and it will set things up according to that particular sim.. ( Like Metro's Wi-Fi Calling ).
It's strange.. I have the U.S.A. Unlocked Version (U1) and the device is saying it's "Up To Date" with CSA8 software installed.. So, I'm going to just flash F1 and call it a day..
Take Your Time.. And Good Luck!
A Suggestion..

If you have not already flashed anything... my advice would be to download the "USC U1" July 8th F1 software and install that.
Leave your Sim Out of your phone during the flash.. Just disconnect once you get a green "Pass!" and let it reboot.. ( it will take some extra time ) once it reboots.. you should get a message stating to "Insert Your Sim Card and Reboot" .
Being the Carrier-Free version of the software, It will set your device up with MetroPCS 's features... Done.
No need to worry about going with the ATT version... unless you are still using some of it's bloatware..
