Hello, i know question has already been asked but i didn't find it for the rom i'm looking for. (i'm a bad searcher as it is popular rom but anyway)
So i want to use adroid revolution HD rom, but in the thread of this rom, there is no explanation on how to do it without an sd card.
How to flash:
Download ROM and place it on your virtual SD card
Download "Super Wipe" script & place it on your SD card (optionally if coming from earlier version of my ROM, obligatory if coming from stock or other custom ROM)
Boot your phone in recovery mode (vol up + home + power)
In main menu, select "install zip from sdcard"
Select "choose zip from sdcard" and browse to the location of "Super Wipe" script
Once again select "choose zip from sdcard" and browse to the location of Android Revolution ROM
After flashing process is complete, reboot the device
Click to collapse
So how do i do it without sd card?
Also i wanted to ask you, is android revolution a good choice? Knowing that i'm totally new to android stuff(and it's my first smartphone)
Thx in advance.
bump!
i searched in depth in the thread about android revolution HD, but didn't find anything mentioning a way to flash without sd card.
The internal storage of the phone is referred to as the SD card. So you have the internal SD card (which is the internal storage where you can save the ROM and where all your apps/data) and the optional external SD card (which is actually a real microSD card you insert into the phone)
So yeah, go ahead and place the ROM file on your "virtual" SD card as the instructions say. It will show up when you plug your phone to a PC (provided you have installed the Samsung drivers)
You might want to double check the process - I'd be concerned about the HTC comments in that process you listed. It SOUNDS like it should be OK but the S3 is a different phone and things are done differently. Double check before you brick...

Excuse me for that question but what does double check mean?
Bump!
Also they say "flash boot.img from the downloads section"
How can i do that?
Does anyone has a good guide to follow to install(flash?) the rom android revolution H?
This might be because you are trying to flash the HTC ONE X version of android revolution, try flashing the right Rom........in fact learn to read, and learn what the hell you're doing before you do anything else or you are going to end up with an expensive paper weight!

Please up vote this post if you are interested in seeing a proper root or a custom ROM (CM7/CM9) for Motorola FireXT (XT-530) just like I do.
I have searched for a proper rooting method for XT-530 but no one seems to have done it with 100% success. Most of them have ended up bricking their device.
If there in enough interest for a port for this mobile, developers here at xda or CyanogenMod maybe interested in working on it.

No one has bricked their Fire XT by rooting. Rooting is a very safe process.
The most used method for rooting this phone is this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271114
Most bricks were caused by installing incompatible custom recoveries using rom manager.
As of this moment, there is no Clockwork mod (custom recovery) for this phone. However, a dev is working on it and it'll be released soon.
As I said before, I'll be porting CyanogenMod to this phone once GentryLamp releases CWM for it.
We need CM7 for this phone, there's so much untapped power and motorola software is crappyer than crap!

The only launcher you had was installed as a user app, and you reset the phone deleteing all user apps.
Try this:
-Download any launcher, and rename it to launcher.apk, place it on the SD card.
PS. here is go launcher apk: http://dl.apktops.com/app/201205/GO_Launcher_EX_3.00_fixed.apk
-Tell a friend to send you an sms with a link. say, http://www.google.com
-When you recieve the message, click the link to launch the browser.
In the address bar type "file:///sdcard/launcher.apk", installer should launch and install go launcher.
And this time, please convert the launcher to system app. I recommend launcher pro for this because Go Launcher may be too large to fit on system partition!
Alternatively, you can start from scratch and re-flash the entire ROM from here:

Thanks !!

Well it appears to be a port(?) from the i9000 galaxy s, hence the i9000 in the kernel but that could be the issue right there. You need a vibrant kernel. Really the biggest question is how did you flash a ROM but don't know what it is? The name should be in the OP.
I recommend Hellybean.

Now it has some problems such as calling problem which I told my previous post. Secondly I can't hear music in loud speaker !!! I noticed that last night. But the phone is speedy, faster. No I have no front facing camera. My phone is vibrant sgh t949. And in recovery mode I can scroll options without volume up, down button by touching. But before I can't touch In recovery mode. There is also file manager name AROMA in recovery mode.

OK you mean t959...... I am not sure which ROM you are using now but try and flash the ROM in the link, both links are the same I accidentally posted it twice. Be sure to read the op carefully and follow instructions. I am going to provide you with another link for Odin in case you run into trouble but you should be okay. I check these threads daily and will try to give you support in any way I can.

Yes. I'm trying. i have no internet connection last one day and i am downloading my previous apps from play store. i accidently deleted all of my backups. Now i'm downloading AIO VIBRANT TOOLBOX. it's 200+ mb. but i don't understand the very first link (Hellybean 4.1 link). there is no specific download link of this ROM. By the way I will try another vibrant ROM by the second post's link.
Edit: Now.. Odin isn't recognizing my phone in my computer!!!!!!! I have installed exact driver. last time when i bricked my phone. it worked in my fried's PC. now i have to go there, because his PC loves my phone not my PC. i don''t know why this is happening !!!
When it rains, it pours. . You'll be okay. From the issues you are having when you get to your friends house, I would definitely Odin back to stock JFD and start fresh. You seem to have the wrong kernel for your device. So start over and you should be ok.
When you go to hellybean thread in the first post there is a link that will take you to Devil website. Hit the download link it will take you to rootax files. Locate the hellybean 20120813 allinone.zip. and hellybean add ons and DL.
After you go back to stock it is recommended to flash GB boot loaders. Next,(full wipe) Flash cm9 nightly, reboot and wait about 10-15mins to allow time for files to finish, then(full wipe again) flash the hellybean allinone.zip, reboot recovery, (no wipe)flash allinone.zip again (no wipe) flash add on zip, fix permission and reboot.
Give 15mins to let it settle then setup and enjoy.

The apps that are force closing, go to settings, apps or manage apps, forget which its called and the find the app in question. Force stop it and clear data. Should work after that.

Apparently the ROM has gapps baked in and the hellybean add on is for jb not ICS. You can try and manually remove but it would probably be best to reflash the ROM. (Full wipe)
If you want jb go to the hellybean link I gave you and follow op directions.

@xxaqib Thanks for maintaining this thread! Really useful. i'm sure i'll be following future updates:good:

Btw which TWRP do you use @xxaqib? I used to install t0lteskt which supposed corresponding to my E250K. unfortunately nandroid backup doens't work, restoring any backups (even w/o space in filename) will result in bootloop.
Would like to share a few findings after using WIDzard kernel for 3 days.
1. The kernel probably needs to flash with widzard recovery which is a mod of Philz 6.57.5. My first attempt with philz touch 6.48.4-t0lte caused a strange bootloop: samsung logo > recovery > samsung logo > recovery....
2. 8~10% performance gains compared to stock kernel. The benchmark was not made on the same ground though.
stock kernel - DN3 v5 : 18239 @antutu 4.5
Widzard kernel - MawrickROM : 20988 @antutu 4.5
3. By overclocking to 1.8GHz, the performance is very decent. Sorry Aututu auto updated to v5, so oc benchmark was made on v5...
To conclude, I found widzard kernel is very smooth and stable. I didn't got a glitch in the past few days. I recommend people give it a try to report back if any issues to the author:highfive:

Yes my daily device is Z1. My wife uses Note2/E250 that's why I cannot mod it as easy as my Z1 - you know why! Everytime*before doing any mod to Note2*I need to do a quiet intensive research. I'm sure your thread will help a lot for those looking for resources. Note2 was a great phone but it needs a refreshment to make it still good in 2014!*

yes i agree
what about Z1 is it good???
i was searching for G2 and Z1 and at last i have found G2
I have been happily plodding along on CheckROM RevoHD v6.0 (GB 2.3.6) ('member CheckROM? I 'member) with Dark Knight kernel v2.5.2 since around 2012 but several apps I use need updating and the newer versions won't work below v4. I've held out as long as possible. So, it's time to bite the bullet and get back into flashing.
I've had a bit of a browse here and I'm a bit confused. It looks like the version of CWM I have (not sure of exact version, whichever one was current in early 2012, I haven't booted into it for over 4 years) will not allow me to install a newer ROM from the last couple of Android releases. Is TWRP the newer recovery I need? I also see a lot of talk about flashing a PIT file to repartition the internal SD for a larger system partition. That seems like a grand idea. Tired of moving stuff around to get a new app installed!
In summary, I just need a few pointers and tips on what to do next to move my S2 from CheckROM RevoHD 6 to a newer ROM. I know you can't really ask "what's the best ROM?" here but what's the best ROM? Just kidding...but I would like something stable (no constant FCs/random reboots), easy-ish on the battery, no bloatware etc. If it looks purdy that's nice too. Drop a few names to check out.
I don't need to be hand-held step by step, maybe just link me threads to follow in the right order and I'll be off.
Thanks all.

Hi
What i would do:
- make a backup
- update cwm to cwm 6.0.4.7
- clean flash of cm11 20161119 i9100.zip by @zjq985062714 + pico open gapps together with isorec recovery 3.0.2-1.zip by @the.gangster.
So you will have a good working rom and the latest isorec twrp recovery.
Then you can increase system and data Partitions by using lanchon repit tool.
This is a zip-file in which you can fill in your desired size. Choose 1.0GB for system and 4.0GB For data.
Flash then this zip-file in twrp recovery.
Now you are able to flash any cm12/cm13 and even cm14 (or stay on cm11 for a try)‘
I just want to mention that i always started from JB and not from GB but you have a custom recovery.
2 excellent noob friendly guides by @Saber:
- how to incease system partition .....
- want to update to cm13 ....

Thanks for your thorough and informative reply TriboDoP, I appreciate it.
I will source out the rest of the files later but for now I tracked down CWM 6.0.4.7 for the I9100 here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...wm-clockworkmod-recovery-kit-kat-4-4-t2628412 The OP links are dead but a later post had a mirror. Is that the right file?

I understand, and thanks for the caution. Of course, nandroid backup will always be #1 on the to do list.
I do think i will need to do some more reading here to make sure I can achieve what I want the way I want.
If anybody reading has been through this (GB -->JB, KK or higher...I will not be bothered with ICS) please feel free to chime in with your experience.
